Ku Bar in City of London, Westminster

The place is nice, I consider it a good option for gay club in Soho. I spent 10 pounds to go downstairs to the club, but for the bars upstairs you don’t need to pay to enter. The drinks are London-priced, so don’t be surprised to pay 8-16 pounds for a cocktail. I had a problem because other customer got my jacket from the couch by mistake, and the manager was very careful and helpful to me, in the end, I was able to get my jacket back (remember to use the coatroom next time).

Great bar / disco, good vibes, gay music and beer, what else.

This is not a military friendly venue But we found this out AFTER we wasted money on wristbands then didn't get in due to an unnecessarily aggressive female bouncer

Crowded and not the cleanest place

Lovely bar with lovely atmosphere and the staff are always so friendly.

NOT TRANS FRIENDLY !! I'm trans and used the men's bathroom in the club downstairs. Was physically assaulted and harassed by a cis man. When I spoke to security with my friend who was an eyewitness he pulled the guy for a chat and gave him a warning?! Told us it was our word against his and let him back into the club (he harassed more people lol). Extremely disappointing from what once was one of London's best queer nightlife spots.

I went to Ku for one drink with a friend pre dinner. I was running late so my friend was already settled with his drink when I arrived. I ordered at the bar and when the bartender held out the machine for payment it was more than the menu price. I asked why and he said a 5% service was added at the bar. The amount I was being charged was 10% more though, no idea why. I was not expecting to be charged a service charge at the bar and the bartender said he could remove the additional charge. I asked my friend if he had been charged a service charge at the bar and he hadn’t. My drink at the start seemed to be fine but as I got about half way through it got really salty as if there was salt at the bottom of it. I won’t be going back to this place. I felt like I was treated differently to my friend and to be honest was not made to feel very welcome.

Every time I visit London, I have to visit this venue! I’ve been here when it’s really busy.. and equally like today (3pm) when it’s a bit quieter Always love the vibe.. staff seem great, but above all it’s a great place to have a drink and just ‘people watch’ Hopefully back soon!

Can the manager please tell his staff to stop serving cold beer in warm fresh out of the glass washing machine glasses to customers. You charge a fortune for drinks. Every time

visited ku bar over the weekend, had an amazing time. Laura from the door staff made it particularly memorable. We had great conversations, whilst she was doing her job to an impeccable standard. wish all door staff were like Laura!

I have visited KU Bar quite a few times over the years. But yesterday was a rotten experience, for the first time i was not allowed in. I asked the reason and they just wouldn't say. I intended to stay there with my friend just for an hour as I am working today. Well that's the last time I will ever go there. Also a few months ago the same friend's phone got stolen at the venue.

Laura was amazing, she controlled the door like nobodies business. She carried herself like she was one of the patrons but kept the peace effortlessly, LOVE TO LAURA!! 💙💙

Had a wonderful night at Ku bar this evening. Our host JJ was amazing and looked after us all night and made sure we were never short of drinks. What a great place and incredible staff!

Dropped in on my way to the station, went upstairs and my lovely waitress ciara served us. She was so friendly and went above and beyond with every task. I could not recommend ku bar enough because of her. She is such an asset.

Omar was my bartender and he is amazing. It was a little busy but he still made time to show us his hilarious and engaging personality all while making drinks FAST. Was so attentive and never left people’s cups empty ! Such a fun bar I am def going back

My friends have been raving about this bar so I finally decided to check it out for myself, and it did not disappoint!!! I had such an amazing time with my friends, and the energy was it! Not only was it a vibe but the service was exceptional. Although it seemed to be a busy night for the staff they were very attentive to their customers. Specifically one of the bartenders Omar who took the time to help me figure out what drink would best suite my taste since I’m not familiar with many drinks. Will be going back very soon!!

First time in Europe and some friends brought me here….A TimE was Had!! Great atmosphere, Music… It was really busy but controlled. The bartender Omar was hilarious, really cool, and made some fire drinks! Definitely will be back!!

Bouncer wasn’t particularly friendly when I went, I had my ID out he said he didn’t care about that, they’d check it inside (they didn’t), he wanted to look in my bag. Then the bar on the ground floor has the drink menu out on the bar but when I went to order a cocktail the bartender told me I had to go upstairs. Then he said nevermind and asked a waiter walking by to get it, and said I could drink it on the ground floor as long as I sat in the back or outside. The staff was overall friendly and my drink was good, the space and its levels are just kind of confusing if you haven’t been before, so maybe ask the bartender if it’s your first time. Lower level is a club late at night I believe, upper level is another bar I guess, and ground floor is the bar (beer only?) and seating in the back half (waiter can bring drink menu items).

Didn't eat but had a great time, awesome atmosphere very safe great staff and security. But I don't like cover charges which they have to hang out downstairs. That's OK just not my thing that's all. Cool place.

I got robbed in the club and the staff did nothing and they didn’t let me in to look for my stuff after they closed as they promised they would let me in to look for it

Great spot with friendly staff and amazing vibe

Wouldn't recommend this place, definitely not to solo travelers. Staff were offensive (not "merely" rude). For example, refusing to give their names or contact information for management; threatening and weaponizing security/the police (I can't imagine what it would be like if I was a non-citizen/disenfranchised person). Maybe the staff were having a bad day. I get everyone has their own issues and traumas, and we're still recovering from COVID, but seriously there's no excuse not to be a good person/people. We can do better, it's 2024 ;)

Have been to Ku before for Ruby Tuesdays and had a good time. Decided to visit on a Friday - £20 entry only to be greeted by a cockroach running across the dance floor. Possibly could be a great bar once they sort their pest problem, alas did not hang around to find out.

Our Time in the Ku Bar was great, not only the Dragperformance from Luna Cortez was a highlight even our barkeeper Stanley fulfilled all our wishes quickly and with a lot of effort!

Amazing bar and the staff are incredible. Stanley and JJ are call out stars, but also major praise for Arthur, Adi, Freddie, and Paulo. Feel at home and looked after.

A friendly staff and delicious espresso martinis! I was here twice during my London stay and both times it was a relaxing, chill place with some outdoor seating too.

Went downstairs for the England football euro game. It was very nice, great place to meet friends and have some drinks.

I visit this pub when in Leicester square on days out with the wife after visiting China town or one of the shows down Shaftesbury avenue. the atmosphere is fantastic and the staff are professional. It doesn't matter what your sexuality is it's a fantastic place.

Perfect late night drinks venue (Open till 3am 7 days a week), good selection of drinks including a good cocktail menu. Good price of drinks for a Central London venue, with a great atmosphere and a fun crowd. Ordering is easy at table with your drinks brought to you. The venue is a card only payment venue.

One of the bartenders (black gay guy) ruined our experience, he was grumpy and rude and refused to serve us. Out of nowhere he was giving us attitude, looking at us head-to-foot, raising his eyebrows, etc, like why?? Luckily the other bartenders were ok.

A pop music culture vibe with a young and energetic clientele… far better than any of the GAY venues for what it is.

I felt actively discriminated against as someone who uses crutches. Only after I insisted I could navigate using the stairs and checking with their manager did the bouncers VERY begrudgingly let me in the bar. I had no such issue in any other establishments that I visited especially with checking whether a less mobile person could access their venue

As a Gay Bar pretend to be liberal and open-minded, they are a disgrace! While they broadcasted the Eurovision on the big screen, they muted a specific song from a specific country. The manager said it was a tech issue, but magically the audio was back right at the end of the song. What a bunch of hypocrites. And they are very expensive. Never again!

I was very disappointed and shocked with my experience at Ku and honestly, there are much better gay bars in London that deserve my patronage. Drinks are overpriced, the bouncer is kind of shady and I overheard some antisemite comments from the staff, perhaps some training is in order. Or better yet, if you’re of the Jewish faith take your money elsewhere

Not open till 3 as advertised. Went in for a drink only to be kicked out rudely by security not long after ordering a drink and not finishing it. Was told we could go to the basement, and when we got to the door was told it’s a women’s only night. Would be great to be a bit more clearer with opening times and events etc

It was one of the places I wouldn't recommend you go to. We drank only two beers at the bar with a female friend, and when my friend ordered the third beer, they said you were drunk and did not serve it. Their reason was that my friend danced and went to order. Of course, everyone working there took the bartender's side and did not even give her and me the right to speak properly. As a result, it was a bad experience. I do not recommend it.

Welcoming gay bar in central right next to Leicester square tube station on the edge of Chinatown. Great cocktails and wide beer selection. Reasonable prices and very friendly staff. Highly recommend!

A fun, central gay bar! The staff is really nice. A double rum & coke is about £13 so a bit pricier but nothing unusual for London - especially in a central location. Great time!

Most sexist place!! Very mean barman!! I went to the bar and asked to buy a beer and he said he couldn't sell me beer because I was drunk. It was the first time in my life. I wanted have pint. They took me out with security, and unfortunately I wasn't even drunk and they tried to talk with me about it with security. They tried to convince me that I am drunk and they were so rude. I went there because it’s a gay bar. I wasn’t expecting this sexist behaviour! When I tried to explain myself they didn’t even listen to me!!! Never never try this place because barman and the staff are so mean!!!

I give 4 star because they used have lots of pretty boys with muscle bodies behind the bar making it a crowd pleaser, but now it change so much I don't know it's ok for a boogie with you friends if you into pop music

Absolutely love the venue. When I arrived I was server by the handsome Sam who served me very quickly and completed my order to how I like it without question and then I was remotely (table service) served by the delectable Grant. Will Deffo recommend and I shall return for another visit in the near future

I have just arrived to My place, out of the blue, one of the guards asked me to go outside to "talk". I was waiting in the bar to Buy a drink, the second of the night. I knew he was going to ask me to leave, it's something that happens frequently in this place. It was the 4th time I attended this club and I didnt have any problems. Id like to know what are the reasons for this behaviour. The place is awesome but I can't Say the sane about the service

The manager was a scammer. He told us to upload an app to received a disccount to our spirits. Surprise, we didnt get ant disccount. Furthermore, they closed 20 mins later. Another strange thing was the dark dirty smelly basement; was crowded with such a strange people. I will never recommend this place, only if you wanna be robbed.

My favorite place to grab a drink in London. The staff at Ku Bar are fantastic! I have enjoyed drinks in the main bar, upstairs bar, and danced in the downstairs All three are a blast. I really enjoy the Cocktails and Cabaret on Monday nights. From cocktails on a Friday night with friends to stopping for an afternoon refresher on the weekend, Ku Bar is my go to place. The best Aperol Spritz I’ve found in London.

I felt sick yesterday and needed to use the bathroom to throw up. I wasnt being anything messy or loud and security directly came and pushed a sick person outside of the venue in the cold when clearly I needed assistance. Awful.

Amazing space for all, great music, Shane the bartender took care of us on a rainy Tuesday night, the warmest heart and pulled the coldest pint of Guinness. Would come back again tomorrow and every day after xx

In my opinion… the best gay bar in London!! I went to this venue yesterday and I found: Very friendly staff! Always happy to serve. Respectful security team in the entrance. Unlike other bars… Great music/DJ Nice decor. Stylish! Very very pleasant visit. I’ll defo come back!!
