Krusties in York

As a visitor to York I popped in here on a whim, i was greeted by the lovely staff and left with a quality tasty sandwich and coffees. What a lovely place.

I have used this as my go-to place for a good lunch for the past 10 years! This has recently changes hands again and sadly the standard of service and food has declined significantly. There has been a sharp increase prices yet this isn't reflected in the products served. Substandard and at times cold (should be hot!) ingredients plus staff who lack politeness means that I will be looking elsewhere for a lunch stop! New management doesn't always mean better!!

My fellow work friends and I have been regular visitors to this sandwich shop for years and it was always consistently good. It changed hands a few years ago and they kept up the standards and the variety and actually added to the choices. The salad bar was stocked with lots of different things ranging from pasta salads, Waldorf salad, potatoes in various dressings, olives etc. The sandwich choices hot and cold filled one wall. The staff serving were friendly and efficient. The last 3 times we have visited things have changed 🙁 and not for the better. The people serving need a good shake !! They are painfully slow and seem totally void of any personality. The prices have gone up and the menu has been reduced. The royale sandwiches were certainly not up to the previous standards. The potatoes weren’t as hot or as generously filled. The salad choices were more basic. What used to be a heaving little shop was now exceptionally quiet - which is why I title this write up ‘what a shame’. We won’t be rushing back there anytime soon and I’m guessing that is the same for most of the previous customers.

What a fantastic sandwich shop. They also had home made moussaka. Lots of choices and also a salad bar. Not over priced.

The staff and owner are so friendly and welcoming. The food tastes great and has a big range. Great price and fast service.

I decided to grab a sandwich on the way to catch my train. There is a good selection of hot and cold sandwiches and other snacks. Everything is freshly made for each customer. Good value and tasty too.

This is my go-to when I've forgotten my lunch for work, and my colleague I sit next to goes here EVERY DAY for his lunch. Nuff said. Good value, big sandwich, made to order but quickly, with fresh and tasty ingredients for £3. Cheap lunch on the go - look no further!

Recently visited Krusties had there pulled pork with cheese, coleslaw and barbeque sauce. We were really impressed, so tasty and excellent value. Plenty of choice on the menu. Would definitely recommend trying.

Right in the centre of York. I had the sweet chilli chicken baguette for £3. Was big and tasty, lovely soft bread. The owner was very friendly. The place was queued out the door with locals, and if that doesn't tell you what you need to know then nothing will.

We popped in here while walking around York for a lunchtime bite to eat. Takeaway service only, tho there are a few seats but are occupied by people waiting for their order. Hot and cold sandwiches /baguettes made to order plenty of fillings to choose from , jacket potatoes and salads and snacks drinks available. Can get busy but they are worth the wait but be warned they do not accept debit cards as I found out when I went to pay, had no cash on me so had to run to nearest cash machine.

located in the centre of York, small place, during a lunch crowded, because of great foods. They have jack potatoes, sandwiches and etc ... i have had jack potatoes with some curry meat. Excellent choice and the service was good as well. Nos sure if they have bathrooms.

We have visited York in previous years and been to this sandwich bar and enjoyed it then. In subsequent years we have been and couldn't seem to locate it...this year we found it and glad that we did. They do a variety of sandwiches and jacket potatoes and the hot ones are made to order and are delicious. I had a beef, onion and mustard baguette and was as delicious a hot beef baguette as I have had ( though the old butcher's in Saundersfoot would have given it a run for the money - sadly no longer there). Anyway, this is an excellent little sandwich shop; not expensive and worth finding - it is a little tucked away!

Great sandwiches, always busy, jacket potatoes which you cannot seem to get anywhere else and people go mad for the salad bar

krusties is a lovely welcoming place and I go there for my lunch every Friday when I volunteer and the jacket potatoes are amazing and they put plenty of topping on which I love definitely love going there would highly recommend it to anyone

La comida es genial, nunca tuve un problema con él. Pedimos pasta a la boloñesa, conseguimos cubiertas con queso. Soy muy alérgico al queso y cuando mencioné que la cajera sighed en mí y oí su pregunta con retintín el chef para retirar el queso, que, para el registro, todavía estaba en mi comida. Pérdida de mi descanso de trabajo y dinero. Comida popular no es sustituto de un pobre servicio.

Krusties has been in my life for 13 years now and it never disappoints, rammed full of good quality ingredients big portions and speedy service. Chicken Royale remains a firm favourite, however salads, jacket potatoes and sandwiches are all amazing!!!

He estado visitando a Krusties de forma intermitente durante los últimos 15 años sin ningún cambio en la excelente calidad de los sándwiches. pan y relleno por igual han sido increíbles todo este tiempo. No hay razón para meterse con una fórmula de trabajo, te juro que incluso los precios se han mantenido igual todo este tiempo (aunque obviamente no lo han hecho). Mi primera presentación de Krusties fue cuando tenía 15 años y me presentaron el bacon de bacon de pollo y ensalada de col y, por supuesto, el pollo con queso. ¡Me encantaba que la chica trabajara allí en el día, así que nos aseguramos de ir allí todos los fines de semana!

Acabo de descubrir que este lugar es el mejor en York y obtienes mucho por el precio. Sugerencias encantador para sándwiches o sugerir sus propias, fabuloso bar de ensaladas y quiché delicioso. Voy a probar todo el tiempo!

Utilizada para conseguir un bocata rápido desde aquí todo el tiempo cuando en el centro de la ciudad de Nueva York. Pero había caído del hábito. Redescubierto recientemente ha recordado una vez más y por eso es genial. Por el mismo precio (si no menos) como un supermercado de plástico envuelto en esfuerzo, ¿por qué no comprobar algo en vez de krusty genial. Mexicana es la realeza y la tarta de rocky road excelente. Un gran lugar para tomar un almuerzo rápido.

Ordered a catered buffet for 8 people. Excellent food, more than enough and very friendly staff. Would not hesitate to order again when next in York.

Solía ser bueno, sabroso y de buena calidad. En los últimos meses han comenzado a skimping en los ingredientes. Compramos una baguette el otro día y medio el sandwich estaba vacío - a salsa. Esto no es un descuento.

Nos dieron dos baguettes con rellenos diferentes desde aquí eran muy sabroso y un tamaño decente! Muy contento con el precio y la calidad de este lugar lo recomiendo para una comida ligera

Ive just today purchased a chicken piri piri roll im sorry to ruin your good reviews but it was the worst sandwich i have ever eaten i was expecting real chicken NOT a processed chicken slice the piri piri sauce was unedible and tasted of vinegar. There was more sauce in it than i had coke in the bottle after 2 bites of the roll i gave it to a homeless guy who in which took one bite and threw it in the river. I am a chef myself and know quality this was not quality

Absolutely awesome sandwiches for an incredibly low price -- less than £3 for any sandwich whether it's fried chicken, pulled pork, or just tuna. I've started going here almost every working day since I discovered this place during my master's. Can't recommend it warmly enough!

Great home cooked food, very reasonably priced and the owner Illiya is a very friendly, attentive genuine guy! Definitely worth a visit!

This place is small, but perfectly formed. It represents amazing value for homemade food and has really friendly staff. You won't be disappointed.

This is a little tucked away but worth finding. It is just a couple of doors up from Pivni World Beer Bar.I had the Pulled Pork Roll with coleslaw and BBQ sauce and it was amazing. Great price also as it was only £2.80 in total and kept me full for hours, and I really like to eat. My wife had the Chicken, Bacon and Brie with slaw and was equally impressed. Wish we would have found this place on our first day but I implore you to seek it out and get reviewing.

Wife and I had breakfast whilst visiting York (we didn't book breakfast at place we were staying).Good range of breakfast sandwiches at reasonable price. Couple of tables to eat in. Highly recommended
