Our experience was very disappointing. The service left a lot to be desired. It was difficult to understand the waitress as she had a mouth full of food while she took our order. She literally sprayed food as she spoke. Her attitude was not professional, in fact rather off putting. We didn't feel welcome and will not be returning. The 3 tables around us felt the same way. One lady said she felt like her food was thrown at her. However, the food was quite tasty and generous.

What better way to start the day than with a fantastic full English breakfast ! Very reasonable priced and good value for money! Excellent bacon! I’ve been coming here for over 20 years and have never been disappointed!

This was our first visit to Kristoffs but it will not be the last.I love a fried breakfast so I am always wary of going into cafes that I don’t know but there was no need for any fears whatsoever.Everything was superb,it was served red hot as it should be and on a hot plate which is rare nowadays.A cracking breakfast well worth the cost of £7.50.Well done to the whole team.🤗🤗🤗

Me and my family came here in December 2022 for a Christmas meal and had the upstairs to ourselves, we loved it so much we came back in 2023 and have just come back for a buffet in January of this year. Just wanted to thank Kris for being so friendly and offering such a great service. The food is amazing, all homemade and so much effort gone into everything. The staff are so kind and lovely, amazing service. Thank you for also catering to dietary requirements and offering an amazing alternative selection. We love coming here, such a lovely friendly atmosphere and even better that the food is amazing. We can’t wait to come back again :)

What a great place. Staff lovely, food exceptional. Six of us had Sunday lunch portions huge so don't have breakfast 😀 veg fresh not frozen all sourced locally. Will definitely be going back.

Excellent Sunday lunch, beef was melt in the mouth. Enjoyed by all our party and will definitely be going again. Meals were very big, huge Yorkshire puds, individual gravy pots and lots of veg. Highly recommended

Hubby loved his vegetarian breakfast, good value for money, seems very popular too, wanted to try some of the gorgeous looking cakes, but was so stuffed, couldnt eat any more as stuffed! we'll definitely be back.

Me and my friend had the afternoon tea it was amazing we must have taken as much home as we actually eat as there was so much everything was delicious and really fresh the staff were really nice and friendly would definitely recommend

Pleasant welcome very helpful staff but unfortunately the food was not up to standards very greasy food and left a horrible aftertaste. Could do with a good refurbishment and a good clean.

The food is very good here but they really need to do something about the ladies toilet, it is a disgrace. The toilet set is loose, the toilet roll holder is hanging off and the area is scruffy and dirty. The waiter was dressed in a hoodie and couldn’t even tell us what the soup was. Needless to say we shall not be returning.

Always great food however when making a query over the phone the young lady was blunt and sounded annoyed by my question.

Went in on the office chance for a Sunday roast which was sold out. We did enquire and they had everything but roast potatoes. We didn’t need the extra carbs so sat down . Staff are very friendly and attentive and nothing is too much trouble. They gave us extra meat and we tucked in. The whole meal was delicious, everything was top drawer. Definitely give this place a try.

Absolutely delicious breakfast, filter coffee hot and good value for money. I will return. Staff excellent too all top quality ingredients will most certainly revisit very clean and spotless too.

Just been to Kristoff's intending to have breakfast. Disinterested waitress who turned her back and disappeared as we entered. Customers eating at two tables. We sat at an empty one which was full of crumbs and sticky. Thinking maybe it wasnt prepared we tried another two which were the same so decided not to bother. In these times where hygiene is more important than ever this is really disappointing. We won't be going again, which is a shame as previous visits have been good.

ordered 2 large breakfasts, bacon and sausages burnt on the outside sausages pink in the middle and tasted sweet so on there way off,was like rubber, hash browns where re fried as was the black puddding, mushrooms where wrinkled so they are out of dat, best bit was the toast, had to wait to be served then it seem to much trouble no smiles or anything from waitress,

Sunday lunch club is the best value most amazing food you'll ever get, this is as good as it gets, the meat juice gravy is heaven, the service exceptional and the food is amazing. We were entertaining our Australian friend and he said it was the best food he's had in his visit. A must. Thank you

A friend and I have tried several local cafes for our twice monthly lunch but we always return to Kristoffs where the service is always very good and the portions hugeI can recommend the toasted teacake with or without cheese! And my friend has tried several deserts and particularly enjoys the fruit pies and creamIts quite a small venue so you may need to share a table in busy timesTry for yourself you wont be disappointed

Decided to have my retirement party here after recommendation from a friend. Buffet was amazing so much variety. Staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Atmosphere great. Lovely warm night so we were all able to sit out in the courtyard. I can’t praise this place enough. Everything about it was brilliant. Thanks for a great night and making my retirement leaving do memorable. Well done to you all.

This cafe/restaurant has a warm atmosphere and the staff are very young but pleasant. The food was good, I had the all day breakfast and my daughter had a burger with trimmings. Everything was fresh tasting and we had no complaints other than an extremely rude female customer on a neighbouring table was giving the staff a hard time. We would have liked to have stayed for a pudding but the commotion this female caused made us just want to get out - it's a shame that some people feel the need to talk down to youngsters and try to belittle them. We will definitely go back another time.

We hadnt been to this cafe before but it seemed ok from the outside .My husband ordered beans on toast and i had a mushroom omelet .The beans on toast looked great ,but the omelet was slimey,undercooked and stuffed with raw chopped up chunks of mushroom (weird).Clean enough and member of staff pleasant but wont be hurrying back .

Came here with some friends for lunch and the food and service was top notch. Highly recommend this place if you visit Cottingham.

Dropped in for latte,s & cake latte was not done properly,was like a normal coffee with bit of froth .had strawberry cheesecake was nice.its a small cafe that serves reasonable priced meals.lots of puddings. & special meals

Visited for Valentines Day meal along with another couple of friends and had the most delicious meal. ~Starting with calamari followed by the best lamb dish I have had for a long time, it was so tender and tasty with lots of freshly cooked veg. Finished with a strawberry and champagne dessert which again was delicious. Service was good the only thing about this restaurant is the tables are very close together but apart from that I would certainly recommend it. Will be going again.

Came on Sunday to try the 3 course Sunday lunch offer and it was fab, giant Yorkshire pudding to start then roast Beef loads of fresh veg then a generous slice of homemade dessert all for £9.95 you can’t go wrong lovely place and excellent staff and environment ✅✅

Been here twice. Get a table service which is nice. Can get a wheelchair into the place as the staff help out to move chairs. The first time we had to wait for a table put staff reserved the table for us, special board meals were very nice.

I called here as I often do when I'm in cottingham on my own . I've never left a review of it before although it is consistently good . This time I had gammon and egg and it was cooked perfectly . I asked for the egg yolks to be very runny and they were , the accompanying salad was lovely and fresh . I would have given a 5 star rating but the coffee was a bit too weak

Cafe small in size, But food is good,it's all we need for a quick bite to eat or maybe just a pot of tea or coffee..My husband and I had The All Day Breakfast, Bacon, Egg etc. It was very good, plenty on our plates..We really enjoyed it.Beats having to go home and cook it yourself..Customers ans Staff all seemed very friendly..Thank You Kristoffs.

I love this place, I have visited a number of times and had various meals ( all delicious) BUT today I witnessed their Sunday roast and by god it was amazing! Puddings are also fantastic with a huge selection to chose from! Definitely worth a visit I can’t recommend enough!

Have eaten here many times and never disappointed. They accommodate gluten free diets happily and my daughter says their gluten free scones are the best she has ever had gluten or not. They have a small function room upstairs with a small bar, a couple if sofas and can seat about 30 fir a meal. Had my husbands 60th lunch there and nothing was too much trouble and food was fab. Having an afternoon tea there in November for mine

Went today (Thursday 12th of April 2018) For a Family Meal and everything was perfect (Polite Staff, Clean Tables/Restaurant & well cooked/tasty food).

Visited Krisstoffs with my Son for a cheeky mid week full English. This was a return visit as previous visits for the same have always been good. Again wasn't disappointed with the quality of the breakfast, service was also tiptop.

Have held family parties and work meals here in previous years but will not be booking again. Visited on mothers day and all I can say is the young waitress who served us was absolutely appalling. I am not going to mention the little niggles but when I returned my starter of soup because it was barely luke warm she made sure everyone eating down stairs heard her say ' apparently the soups cold. I can't be doing with customers complaining today'. I had not complained I just said quietly I wanted my soup hot not cold. When she returned my soup to the table she plonked it down without so much of a word. We were then served our main meal for my mum to tuck into her beef to find herself chewing on a long piece of string that had been left attached following cooking. Our waitress who was rather loudly spoken then finished her shift with another female and sat at a table talking extremely loudly about a member of staff ' looking her belly bar ring somewhere in the cafe'. Another member of staff then approached the kitchen hatch and repeated that a belly bar had been lost someone at the establishment!!!! Did the whole cafe need to hear this or want to hear this ???? We certainly didn't. Whilst the majority of the food we are was delicious it will be a very long time before we return.

We like to use Kristoff's when we're in the area, nice coffee, nice food, good service and reasonably priced, good to support local business

Callef in here whilst walking round Cottingham and so pleased we did the breakfast grill nearly defeated my husband and the large breakfast which I had was lovely our sons burger looked lovely . It was lovely and clean and staff were friendly and pleasant. Definaitly go back here again

Vine aquí el año pasado, y no estaba seguro de qué esperar, mi pareja y yo tuvimos un almuerzo, bebida y postre y quedé impresionado por el precio y la calidad de la comida!

Precios no era claramente. Tenía una taza de café que me pareció que era un precio de £2. 50 pero nos pareció que era un recipiente un poco más grande y me cobraron 5 libras. Tenía un sandwich de salchicha (sólo 11 / 2 salchichas) que era de £3. 50. Pedimos que con tomate y me cobraron un extra de £1. Así que terminamos pagando £9. 50 por 1 (pan blanco, no hay opción para pan integral u otros) y lo sándwich de salchicha efectivamente 3 tazas de café de filtro. No es lo que yo considero la relación calidad-precio. Sin duda, no volvería.

He estado aquí varias veces y la comida era muy buena. Llevé a algunos amigos aquí esta semana, y la comida era bastante cocidas, no me malinterpretéis, aún era comestible! No está a su nivel habitual.

Excelente comida, excelente servicio, limpio, acogedor. . Nada es demasiado problema. Pat y Denise (camareras) trabajan duro para hacer que su visita como sea posible. Una gran relación calidad-precio.

Esta fue mi segunda visita a este café, y por desgracia me quedé muy decepcionado. El servicio era muy pobre, la comida era promedio pedí un capuchino que cuando llegó era el típico café con espuma de leche en la parte superior y no me lo tomé de atrás y nos dieron algo de leche, no hay disculpa, no vamos a volver de nuevo.

We have visited this little cafe plenty of times, the food is always fresh and well presented, the staff are attentive and friendly. We have visited for coffee with friends, lunch and Sunday lunch, each time has been a pleasant experience.

The Christmas day lunch was excellent, well cooked, well presented, well served, the 3 courses were very filling and the turkey and stuffing balls were the best.The staff were efficient and very helpful, very good value all round.

Don't get me wrong I have nothing bad to say about Kristoffs, it's a small establishment to grab a bite to eat... we've only been for lunch and know they offer a great streak...The club sandwich is nice and you get a lot, but for the price you would expect something more, in terms of creativity and options. What they do, they do well but for something romantic/occasional you have Pasco's and for something quirkier or interesting there are other restaurants littered around just a stones throw away.I guess being British in cuisine unless it's gastro or fine dining you can't do too much with it...and that's at a detriment to the place.Because otherwise it's a well rounded place with a friendly atmosphere and exceptional quality.

Kristoffs is a great cafe offering a friendly personal service. Great for breakfast, coffee/cake,lunch, afternoon tea. All food freshly prepared. Homestyle food that tastes delicious. Reasonable prices.

I've been to Kristoff's twice for breakfast and it is absolutely amazing. Freshly cooked, good quality, not dropping with fat, good portions and worth every penny.Breakfasts are served until 5pm which makes them great for even the worst hangover, but the rest of the menu looks solid as well. It's not the cheapest option out there but you get what you pay for. My large cooked breakfast, pot of tea and apple juice came to about £8.50 which is a great deal.Gets quite busy at peak times as it rightly should, otherwise it's a great place to while away with a book and cup of tea and maybe a slice of one of the homemade cakes that I've never quite had room for but look incredible.The staff are friendly and give great service. An absolute gem of a place that I will be back to time and time again.

My wife and I haven't been here for some time now and remembered it as a very nice evening venue with good food and service.We decided to go for Sunday lunch as neither of us wanted to cook that day. When we arrived I was very disappointed in how the place had gone down hill. The décor was the same but really grubby looking and a stale smell hung about the place. Very much a "Greasy Joe's" café. Being hungry, we decided to have something to eat and both chose the beef dinner. To our surprise it was good with a nice choice of veg. and tasty gravy. The staff were young and appeared to be quite enthusiastic about their tasks. Well done to them. We didn't stay for a sweet because, unfortunately, I had no wish to stay longer than the main meal. Overall, not a place I will return to unless the owner does a serious refurbishment.

I have only been here once and had a light lunch (toastie and milk shake). The staff are very friendly and the speed of service was very good. The building itself is pretty old but it was clean and acceptable. Toilets are situated upstairs, so not sure if there are alternative arrangements. Appeared like a good meeting place for coffee and a chat with friends, and the venue was welcoming enough.

We wanted something to eat whilst in Cottingham and noticed this café serving all day breakfasts .They did quite a few variations on breakfasts plus the menu was very extensive. Service was prompt and served by a very pleasant waitress. Thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the thick toast. We had the all day breakfast for £4.50 but could have gone bigger for not much more. They also did sandwiches, main meals, burgers etc so you would not have problems finding something suitable. We will definitely return.They also have an upstairs café and they are open for parties.

My husband and I found this place by accident. We were really impressed with the food and the service. Have been back twice for the all day breakfasts. Looking forward to our next visit. Great little cafe.

Have been coming here for over 10 years and the food is excellent. I particularly enjoy the vegetarian breakfast that is extremely hearty and can even but a bottle of beer to go with it. The service is excellent and the owner very friendly. Have taken many friends and relatives here and everyone has praised the meals and especially the portion sizes (greedy family).

Popped in by accident today. Was out with the wife, in her wheelchair, looking for somewhere to grab a coffee and a quick bite. After failing to get into two other places we thought we'd try here....I'm so glad we did! The lady (owner??) Was very friendly, very accommodating and more than pleasant. After seeing the menu we decided on the (large) all day breakfast rather than the quick bite we had planned, large doesn't really do it justice as a description, either they thought I looked half starved or they are overly generous with portion sizes. It was HUGE. And cooked to perfection. It arrived Hot, and with a smile, and at less than 15 quid for two, with coffee and tea I think the prices are spot on. I've paid more for much less.Will definitely be calling again, hopefully on an evening, do I can try out the steak.... And wine or beer instead of tea.Thankyou, the wife and I left happy (and full)

a great family of 7 descended on kristofts on fathers day, we all ordered something different and all were happy with their meals from granddaughter rose whose 4 up to fathers day men dean 30 and roy 58nice setting and the table looked lovelythe staff that day were amazing and polite especially the young lad upstairs who was run ragged but always with a great big smile

Iv had to write this review because i should let people know how good it is .. iv eaten here lots in the last few month and have never had a poor meal . This saturday i had fresh fish . Chips peas bread n pot of tea for £6.99 . (fish fresh from scarborough) . Today sunday i had roast beef ( which just broke away on your fork) real roast spuds . 2 real york puds . stuffing ball and veg . With real beef gravy ( large £9) . My partner had chicken breast and all trimmings ( small £7.50) . Kristoff's will try to cater for your needs .. His meats are from the butchers across the road and his bread is from the cott bakery ...

Decent food at reasonable prices. Pleasant staff, good choices and decent menu. Ideal for lunch. Not five star but fine for lunch. Tradional fare.

Me and my girlfriend had breakfast, they were fine. However it took ages for them to come and the amount of flies was absolutely disgusting. Not a happy customer.

Popped for lunch with a friend for the first time. Cosy little cafe. Not many tables but service good as was food. Just above basic but very popular.I would certainly call again.

Recently stopped at this cafe/bistro for a spot of lunch and as per usual it met the high standards as expected. The prices are reasonable and the whole family were pleased with choices and options available. I had the full English and would give it an 8/10. The service was also good and no complaints in waiting time for food being served.

We had a very nice filling breakfast. There is a choice of 2 "sizes" and maybe I should taken the smaller one but I managed. Excellent.

Visited on Xmas Eve, and although the traditional menu was available, we all chose something different. The lamb was superb and melted in your mouth, a nice choice of veg.etc made it a very pleasant dining experience. Only drawback was the smallness of the table, with all the extra bits on it, made it difficult for service.Would definitely return

Dirty tables with torn table cloths, unprofessional team who shouted out comments for all to hear! We asked for a bottle of Pinot Grigot and the owner went to Sainsbury local to buy a bottle and then charged us more than double. When I challenged this the waitress didn't care or appear to be bothered admitting this was regular occurance!! Several fly's in the premises and food left out on unused tables instead of taken to the kitchen. The owner should be ashamed and stop this blatant lack of customer respect.

As a student. My student loan wont accomodate for to many visits to Kristoffs however it is great value. So far i have tried two of the 'posh sandwiches' and both have been of great quantity and quality. I recommend the rodeo club for those visiting for lunch (not a lite lunch as its big enough to share) and I will be looking forward to my next visit as there is not a dish that's come out of the kitchen that i wouldnt like to try. Everywhere I looked in the cafe there was flies, the staff wasn't doing anything about it, hairs in my food and too expensive. do not visit.

It's like a little home from home, the food is lovely and the staff are friendly. It offers a small function room above for parties. Its a small place so I'd advise to book for tea time/evening meals and Sunday lunches as it gets busy.

I love visiting this cafe. The food is great and very good value for the price. I have been here a few times and the last time i had the chicken and bacon salad- very yummy. I have also had a breakfast from here. Both times have been great. The staff are friendly and efficient. The choice of food and drinks are good. this would be in my top cottingham places to eat.

hubby went with 3 year old granddaughter for a spot of dinner..shes loves fish fingers peas n chips.and scraps.fish fingers werent on the menu but kristoff made her three fish fingers from scratch but they were crispy so shes called them "scrappy fish fingers" and she demolished her plate..thanks all at kristoffs for pampering to a lil girl

Went here for breakfast this morning. We ordered a full breakfast and it was really tasty. The coffee was OK . quiet and relaxed to enjoy a relaxing morning!

I have been here now 3 times for a full english breakfast and it's one of the best breakfast i have had,all cooked perfect and i love the toast due to being nice and thick,a friend been for meal and say it's outstanding,friendly staff aswell

This little place looks OK from the outside but on entry it's a bit on the shabby side. Tables are a bit worn and chair seats are sagging in middle. Magazines in rack are plentiful... and mainly old and untidily stored. That and the plastic trays used to collect used crockery and cutlery being taped up with black gaffer tape and the overwhelming smell of burned fat did little to help first impressions. Neither did using a table in the middle of the cafe to sort out napkins, plates and cutlery. So, the food. Jumbo fish and chips: not the biggest jumbo fish but it was tasty and in a nice light batter. Home made burger with cheese and bacon wasn't good at all. The burger was overdone to the point that it was like chewing rubber and was an odd red colour, may be some spices or something. I left it and ate the chips which were ok - beefy style frozen chips. Prices were ok especially for the burger, which might account for why it tasted odd. Won't be going back.

We had a buffet lunch which had a variety of hot and cold food chosen with help from Chris and the downloadable suggested menus. the food was plentiful and the staff very helpfulthe meal went on past normal closing time with no one rushing us outA very enjoyable time was had by all

Kristoff catered for 16 friends and family for our wedding anniversary and everything was excellent. He complied fully with all our requests and went above our expectations with everything he did. The food was excellent, the service also and the bill was under our expectations. We can thoroughly recommend his restaurant.

The level of service we received at this restaurant was appalling. After being half heartedly shown to our table, the waitress informed us the soup of the day was "tomata" which we took as tomato, she then was nowhere to be seen. We waited nearly 25 minutes for someone to come and take a drinks order. We then waited an additional 10 minutes for a coke and a bottle of beer. The food was served swiftly, but probably at some detriment to the taste. My main came to be told I was being served chicken stroganoff, when I asked if it was mushroom, as stated in the menu, I was told, "yeah, probably". Its worth pointing out, by no means was the restaurant over run with other customers, which could excuse such lack lustre service. Although the staff did seem pre occupied entertaining their friends and skylarking in the kitchen. Not somewhere I would recommend.

I am a regular to kristoffs, being a student at Hull University. I came across this little gem by sure accident once, and I keep coming back. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, which makes the whole experience enjoyable. The food, WOW, the food is just wow! I make sure I order the breakfest grill, which is a heap of delicious cooked breakfest items that overwhelm the plate. You never leave on an empty stomach. I throughly recommend this cafe, as it's one of the cutest and more welcoming cafes I've ever set foot in.

An excellent full English breakfast. A visit to Cottingham without a full English at Kristoffs is like a pint glass without the ale! good friendly service.

I used to visit fairly regularly when I lived in the area, but I haven't been for a while as I moved away. I was in the area recently and called for lunch. What a surprise to find that the wide range of great wine had gone and the now limited stock is at best mediocre. I suppose the disappointment was heightened by my high expectations based on previous visits.On the positive side the removal of the bar has increased the seating area and the quality of the food is still good for a lunchtime high street restaurant. As this is a very popular place to eat in Cottingham it can get quite full and is a little cramped so the atmosphere would never be described as relaxing or romantic but it is friendly and the staff are friendly and attentive but can be stretched at peak times. There is more seating outside to the rear and upstairs, however the upstairs seating is not well signed so people often enter, turn around and walk away, thinking it is full.I am not over-impressed by the chips but everything else that I have eaten there is good quality and is always cooked fresh by Kris and his staff. There are all the usual options but the menu is enhanced with one or two additions. A great range of home made deserts tops off a meal at Kristoffs leaving you with a wide smile and I left there totally satisfied other than my obvious disappointment over the depleted wine list.I will be back there soon.

Middle daughter is at University in Hull - came down to collect her for Easter and she recommended this Cafe Bar . Her question to me was " do you know what door stop bread is?" - it seems that this is a speciality here .Lovely lunch with very big sandwiches :-)))

Only been once but it was enjoyable, nice food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Must make a point of visiting again soon.

Don't be fooled by the exterior of this little gem!!!What a great little restaurant. We booked for a family birthday for 8 of us for an evening meal on a saturday night. When we walked up to the restaurant a few of us did wonder if we was at the right place, but the birthday girl assured us the food was amazing!When we entered the downstairs is a lovely set up, nice and cosy, we was told our table was upstairs, upon entering the stairs we thought the carpet on the stairs left a lot to be desired and was a bit worried as to what our evening would be like. We was shown to our table and given the menus, the waitress returned to take our drinks order which was swiftly delivered. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and it was difficult to pick! Everyone ordered starters and mains, The started were served and i must say every single one of them looked amazing, all freshly homemade too and very very generous portions. We had notified ahead that i was Gluten Free and my starter came with a nice warm GF roll. Everyone enjoyed their starters, we was left wondering if there was any room for the mains! The garlic bread starter looked beutiful and definately got the thumbs up from the table, so did the seafood starters, everything was excellent! The mains arrived with generous portions of chips/new potatoes/fresh veg, yet again everyone said how beautiful their meals were, everything is cooked to a very high standard! the table were all stuffed after their mains, only a couple of us could eat pudding, I had chocolate tart thing, was warm and gooey, amazing yet again!! This is an excellent food establishment, the chef and management certainly know good food! The waitresses were very attentive, nothing was too much trouble! I would recommend this restaurant to everyone, give it a try, you'll be amazed!!only tip would be for management, new carpet on the stairs wouldn't go a miss, would set the right example. Other than that it was great, will definately be back! Well done Kristoffs.

Been here a few times for breakfast with the partner, it's always been tasty food, the toast is proper thick bread which is great for a breakfast and the staff are very friendly.

Finally got to this restaurant having been recommended by my daughter. It is far from posh but is very comfortable, the young waiter had just the right degree of friendliness and we had an enjoyable evening. Chose the 2 rib eyes and bottle of wine offer - wine very good for house and steaks cooked as we asked. I wasn't expecting too much for the price and was pleasantly surprised. We will certainly go back.

hubby and i went to kristoffs last night 12th feb 2015 for the steak and wine meal deal..we both ordered steak dianne sauce with our steaks and they were cooked to perfection..romantic lighting..great service as per usual..Ians a great hands on guy and always has time to stop and talk..not our first visit and wont be our last

Just returned from Kristoffs after celebrating my husband's birthday along with two friends. No complaints at all as the staff were friendly and attentive and the food delicious. The starters were very generous and the mains the same. Nice hot food on warm plates (which makes a welcome change) Unfortunately, three of us couldn't manage to finish our main course but we were given doggy bags so there's tomorrows dinner sorted! Great evening - we will be back!

We were invited to our friends wedding and they held their reception here afterwards in the room upstairs. The staff were extremely friendly, polite and efficient. The food was really good and so were the desserts. I had spring rolls as a starter, lamb with vegetables as the main and cheesecake for dessert. All were very tasty and couldn't be faulted. Obviously I cannot comment on prices, etc as we didn't have to pay. I'd thoroughly recommend this place as a venue. Next time we're in Cottingham, we will try the restaurant downstairs.

It's just really lovely to go somewhere where it's friendly and welcoming. The waiter and waitress were very polite and helpful. Food was delicious - I had the best stroganoff ever!! Hubby had steak and said it was so tasty. Reasonable prices (good value). We'll be going there again - thanks for a lovely evening.

Having used this restaurant several times now for family gatherings we all knew to expect very good food and great service.I booked a table for nine for January 2nd and because the restaurant would have been closed over the previous days we were asked to pre-book our mains so that the chef could make sure he had all the right ingredients fresh as the restaurant doesn't keep frozen meat and fish.We presented the whole of our starter and main requirements before the holiday break and it turned out to be a brilliant idea.Shortly after our arrival the starters came out and the rest of the service went very smoothly and the whole meal was a joy from start to finish.I will pre-order on any future booking if there are several of us as it made the whole meal so much simpler.We picked desserts from the blackboard on the night as there are non on their website menus.Service was once again attentive and friendly.The meal for nine os with 5 bottles of wine a couple of Budweisers and a bottle of water came to £251 which we all thought great value for such good food.All the food was very good but special praise for the garlic pesto bread(large enough for a main course on it's own) also all the steaks and the Lamb Chianti.Highly recommended.

I thoroughly enjoyed our office Christmas lunch. There were several choices on the menu and the price was really reasonable- £17 for three courses. Everyone was very complimentary and one of my colleagues declared that it was the best meal he'd had for a long time. The starters were fresh and generous and the main was simply delicious -it was steak in a pepper and brandy sauce(I think) sweet was an individual raspberry roulade,mmmmmm. Our waitress was lovely and service was great. The decor is quite traditional and tables quite close but that didn't detract from a memorable lunch. Think I'll be back.

Had a three course meal for £17.50. The meal included a lamb dish that turned out to be the best lamb I have had outside of Greece. The starter was a goats cheese dish that was unusual but very tasty. The dessert was a toffee based brandy snap cup with ice cream and fresh cream. I could not fault any of the food that was piping hot in respect of the main meal. The restaurant is located in the middle of the village and just a short walk from the bus stops. I would thoroughally recommend the restaurant for the quality of food, the service provided by the friendly staff and the location
