Krishna in Maidstone

My family and I went to the restaurant for dinner and the food was so delicious. As it was my mum's birthday they even brought out a surprise by treating her to a cocktail tower and creating it in front of us. The experience was amazing.

Wonderful meal with friends from Germany, who were also really impressed. Classic dishes but also some really different and tasty choices on the menu. Attentive host and a lovely lot of laughs with our waitress made for a very special evening.

We had a lovely meal at the Krishna. Everything was spot on. Jyoti was a superb host. The food and service was absolutely fantastic. Can't wait to revisit!

Wonderful evening her with friends tge food the service and the setting just lovely liz has run this restaurant for well over 30 years and it's as good if not better than ever one of the best in the country I would say

Very friendly helpful owner, terrible waitress staff, few manners, clearing plates right under your nose, leaning across food and the table. Food very expensive.

I was really looking forward to having a curry whilst staying in the local area and very pleased to find a highly rated curry house nearby. Collecting the curry was promising; venue looked quite busy for 6pm. We ordered a chicken tikka bhuna, chicken tikka Dhansak, a vegetable balti, a prawn and spinach; plus a plain rice, mushroom rice, peshwari naan and a paratha. Positives: the balti seemed quite thick and a decent amount of vegetable variety. The rice was nicely cooked. That is where the positives end unfortunately. The bhuna was essentially a thin tomato and onion sauce, very little flavour and could have been any generic tomato based sauce. If the chicken was tikka, you could have fooled me! The dhansak was mild, disappointing for the 2 chilli rating. Lentils were evident at least. What really annoyed me, was the paratha was very clearly a fried frozen job you can buy from the supermarket. For essentially £10 per main not including rice, there are better places to spend your money.

Brilliant food and great friendly service. We order takeaway from Krishna too and it is always delicious. Best Indian in the area without a doubt!

Great food in a very pleasant environment. They do cocktails....but not quite as you would expect! Very pleasant staff and well priced.

My husband and I went here for a meal earlier tonight. We haven’t been here for quite a long time we were early but we were found a table immediately. We order drinks and asked for poppadoms all were lovely then we placed our food order we did not have long to wait our meals were delicious excellent in fact we had a very enjoyable evening and will be returning. Thank you to all the staff it was a truly lovely evening. I would recommend .

First time at Krishna today. We had a worst then horrible experience at Gram Spice today evening. Came to Krishna with our two kids. Felt great soon as we walked in. Ambience was great and we felt nice. Staff was super attentive without being intrusive and customer services was excellent. Food was just absolutely amazing…thank you Chef 😊 We had a great family evening and thank you for saving us from ‘Gram Spice’ disaster. Such a great restaurant, been here many times and always perfect. Management and all the staff are friendly, happy and great at what they do. Definitely a must go to and I will definitely be going back. The Cobra is lovely too. Thank you for always being great.

We are a local group who wanted somewhere nice to have our delayed Christmas lunch. We booked the Krishna as we had all had good experiences of the food. Well, today they took it to another level. We had a truly wonderful meal and were looked after so well. I would recommend this restaurant.

The Krishna serves the most amazing food. Its all home cooked and authentic . The poor reviews on here are from people used to eating preprepared takeaway stuff. The range of dishes is great and good value too

Had a take away as we were staying with family. It didn't have the same depth of flavours as our regular indian (the Clove, Swanley) but still edible

Being a daughter of an Indian chef I am slightly critical when it comes to food. But I must say I am absolutely mind blown by the food here. I have had kebabs from Michelin star Indian restaurants and I must say it falls short to the standard here. They were absolutely phenomenal and a must try, it gives the authentic Indian flavour, that is missed by other restaurants. I thoroughly enjoyed the kebabs and will definitely come back just for this!

We are a hard working family with 3 children and don't treat ourselves very often because we would rather treat our children. We would normally go to the raj of kent at tenterden but they had a family wedding this weekend so we couldn't get...

First visit...... rather empty but guess that is a sign of the times....... Very good food and polite and efficient service. Will visit again but more likely use for its take away at present.

My family and I had a delicious takeaway this evening, food was hot and tasty! Now that restrictions are easing we will be back very soon to dine in.

We have used this restaurant over the last year several times once for entertaining friends, dinner for the two of us and once for a garden buffet last summer. They have never let us down over the quality of the food, the warm welcome offered...

A very welcoming establishment, booking advised for a Friday or Saturday night . There is a good selection of curries available , if you speak to the staff even more tweaks can be available - less/ more spicy etc. Can really recommend that you order Chicken Lababda - not sure whether this actually appears on the menu but was recommended and it’s delicious.

Just returned from this restaurant, we dropped in because our kitchen is out of order and we were starving. Our food was lovely. My husband had a mild lamb curry I had a house special. Fluffy rice,Bombay potatoes and naan bread. Beer, wine and all served quickly and with a smile. Pleasantly surprised by the bill, special offer on Mondays 1/2 price on the food.

Having recently moved to the area, we are just in the process of finding and trying local restaurants. Having passed this restaurant many times decided to try. From the minute we walked in and welcomed we knew it was going to be a good experience. The service was great, yet discreet, and the food absolutley superb, we will definitely returning in the near future. Would highly reccomend

We adored this place for a reliable Curry but today we got a little (unwanted) extra for our buck...no clue what this is, it was found amongst the Chicken in the Chicken Tikka Masala; debatable to be a piece of wood fallen off of cooking utensils/kitchen ware, was a little bit flexible though so imagination can only fly to think what this is. Absolutely gutted as it’s hard to find a decently priced, good Curry place around here.

My husband and I ate here last week, on a Monday they half price food, we hadn’t booked but a table was quickly found for us, our drinks were brought promptly. We placed our order the restaurant was very busy but there were enough staff so it wasn’t a long wait. We enjoyed our meals very much although we both found they were a little on the hot side for our taste but when we were asked how our meals were we were told that if we went again they could give us a less hot and spicy version do we were pleased with that. Thoroughly recommend and very proud to have such a good friendly restaurant right on our doorstep. Great evening enjoyed by both of us.

Visited here for the first time with friends following recommendations. What a wonderful evening. The menu and choice was excellent and the food was amazing, so tasty. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful evening. I am definitely returning here in the very near future and look forward to trying more of the chefs specials.

Food ordered by phone as camping nearby. Yummy and delicious: hot and tasty, great choice well worth the drive.

We went here with some friends for catch up, as they were over from NZ. The service was fab in this very beautiful building. The food was fantastic and considering the amount of time we where in here (drinks, food and coffee's after) the bill we thought was very reasonable. We will def be paying this little gem a visit again soon.

We always go back to the Krishna even though we have moved from Headcorn. It's by far the best authentic Indian restaurent we have been to. The service is great, with a nice little bar so you can get a drink whilst you wait for your friends. The atmosphere is very cosy with tudor beamed ceilings soft lighting and tastefully decorated rooms. I recommend the Kerala chicken it's delicious. Also more recently I have had the lighter healthy option dishes which are aromatic and equally tasty . My partner has worked in India and says this is the best authentic cooking. The restaurent is run by a lovely family and the local young waiters are well trained and are also very friendly and polite.

We were met with a warm welcome and shown to a table in the comfortable restaurant. It's a very old typical Wealden building with low ceilings and beams. We enjoyed an aperitif while perusing the extensive menu and enjoyed poppadoms with condiments while we awaited our meal. We were not disappointed, being great fans of 'Indian' food - it was delicious and the staff were pleasant throughout. It was clearly a popular 'local' eatery as people popped in and out to book tables and collect take-aways, and all were greeted in a familiar and friendly fashion. We really enjoyed it and would definitely return.

We opted for a takeaway on this occasion. The place was crowded; we found out afterwards that the "eat in" food is half price on a Monday - not so the takeaway food. This had nothing to do with our disappointment.

We had a fantastic night here last saturday, soon as we walked in we were greeted with kindness and smiles. My wife and I have been several times and its our favourite indian restaurant in the area. Food is delicious!

moved to Kent a few months ago and have been on the search for a good curry house since we arrived, tried a few and been disappointed. This is by far the best so far! Quite often curry houses lack ambience, the soft lighting and beautiful building set this apart, the food is delicious, hot meaning hot with a good mix of ingredients. The staff were extremely attentive, we will be back very soon!

Had a friend over from the states and he fancied a curry so we visited here, choice looked good but curry was average and cost a little high. However not much choice in the area so perhaps lack of competition to blame.

Ate here and was very happy with both food and the service. Warm welcome and friendly service. Food was very good and full of flavour.

Attentive service yet again with delicious food. Special non alcoholic cocktails made for my daughter and myself , alcoholic versions for the other guests. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough.

First visit with a friend - arrived 730 and was welcomed and drinks order taken. We ordered Popadums and main courses - the pops arrived fairly soon but there was a long delay for our mains.

We have just moved into the area and were keen to try some new Indian restaurants. Krishna's had good reviews and looked very nice so we thought we would give it a try. We visited on a Friday evening, the place looked interesting, nice decor and bar, lovely greeting and very helpful staff. We had booked our table for eight o'clock and arrived at five to. This is where it went down hill, we had a couple of popadoms but our main meal didn't arrive until one hour and twenty minutes later and although the food was ok... it certainly wasn't worth the wait..... Onion bhagee, aubergine bhagee, naan bread and rice, all delicious, the mains, hmm?.... I always try to give an honest appraisal, give them a try it might just have been an off night..

Superb service and made us feel really welcome. As we openly said we would want to discover their cooking, the manager was happy to plan and deliver a real treat of a meal, starters, variety of mains including a succulent local-sourced lamb gently spiced dish, tandoor prawns and an ice cream to die for. A must. If you can trust to go away from traditional "popular" dishes

We visited here on Sunday evening for my pre birthday meal. It was so lovely, hardly any of us in the restaurant but still buzzing with the takeaway orders to celebrate the bank holiday weekend. The service was fast and welcoming as we walked in, who quickly sorted a table out for the three of us.

We eat here quite regularly and have never been disappointed! Everything we’ve tried has been excellent and we’ve been through most of the menu now. The staff are all lovely and the owner makes fabulous cocktails too. I really recommend Krishna - the best Indian restaurant in Kent in my opinion.

I visited Krishna last night with a group of friends and I can honestly say it’s the best Indian food I’ve had. We shared 4 mains and 4 sides and everything we tried was delicious. The service was excellent - Joyti was very professional and accommodating and Liz is such a joy to be around and is so passionate about her food and restaurant. The building is amazing too - all beams and low lighting. We had a lovely relaxed evening and I can’t wait to go back.

Went there after being very let down by a local restaurant / hotel which ruined my 60th birthday. Have been to Krishna’s many times in the past and have reviewed before, but that was a while ago so we felt the need to reiterate just how good this restaurant is. It really has maintained its standard for excellent service and good food from a comprehensive menu at a reasonable price. Friendly attentive staff and comfortable surroundings, highly recommend.

We stumbled across this restaurant and it was a great find. It gets busy so probably best to book. The food was very good with a great choice. Yes the service is a bit slow but it does a brisk take away service which might explain that. Still the food was worth the wait.

We visited on Saturday with friends. The table was booked for 7.30 but our main meal did not arrive until 9.20. Although we were informed once late into the evening that their would be a delay due to ‘low gas pressure’ this spoilt our evening. We then also felt under pressure to leave as we were amongst the last people in the restaurant and the staff were rushing around clearing up. The food was however excellent.

Since moving to Headcorn we have eaten here twice, both meals delicious, and not "oily" like some Indian restaurants. The ingredients are locally sourced, the lamb was delicious, and the tandoori king prawn excellent. Friendly service as well!

Called in for an Indian takeaway. Great service, quick turnaround and truly scrumptious food. We ate very well and our friends all enjoyed it too. Definitely a cut above your average Indian.

We used to live in the village and frequently have lovely evenings in this charming restaurant . last Saturday we were invited to a meal with 30 others from my old headcorn cricket club .Liz still runs a magnificent ,lively and most welcoming establishment with food of the highest order . The catering for such a large group was so good and served with efficiency . The place was buzzing in every corner and they even do a sunday roast plus xmas day roast.!! For someone to run an indian for such a long period must be doing most thing right .

Great food and helpful staff who are happy to advise on your menu choices. Relaxed atmosphere and pleasent surroundings. This restaurant has been in Headcorn for many years and I have enjoyed many meals at the restaurant and the takeaway service.

We visited the Krishna restaurant for dinner on Monday night. The menu contains all the traditional Indian favourites as well as some that we have not seen before. The dishes ordered were all delightful and most importantly served hot. The restaurant is "Oldly worldly" and full of character. We will be going back to Krishna very soon!

Visited the Krishna on a Friday night after a few beers. Despite there still being a couple of hours until closing time it looked like they were closing up.Had poppadoms to start and the dips were good. My mixed tandoori was very nice and came out on a sizzling platter. However the star of the show should have been the curry but sadly wasn't. I went for the chicken tikka bhuna but it was far too spicy and not as rich and deep with flavour as I was expecting.Felt expensive for what we received. So ok but I won't be visiting again.

The food was excellent, and the atmosphere/decor was quaint and charming. My husband and I had a wonderful experience. We were there for lunch and dinner. It reminded me of food I grew up with in India.

Staying locally the night before our Big Cat Adventure we decided to treat ourselves to a meal in the restaurant. Staff helpful and friendly and soon had us seated even though we had not pre booked a table. What followed was a very enjoyable meal of Kashmiri, Biryani, onion bhaaji, rice, and two lovely Peshwari naans,not to mention a good helping of relishes to go with the poppadums. Nice cold drinks to wash it all down ....A perfect evening !! If I was ever back in the area I would certainly return and wouldn't think twice about recommending the KRISHNA to visitors of Headcorn!

Very bland meal, burnt tandoori king prawns, no heat in the pathia, and pilau rice that tasted like it came out a microwave packet...Far better indians in the area

Had a really great Madras. Normally don't have Lamb as it can be tough but I was told by the waiter that they slow cook the meat for 7 hours - it was excellent. For the two of us including drinks the meal was less than £50.00

From the moment you walk in to this restauarant you are special. Jo and his staff look after you and cater for your every needs, they are very calm, professional and look after you so well, it is always a special occasion. We had the buffet and the lamb curry as always was so tender and tasty, as was the other dishes on offer. Very tasty cocktail to end another very enjoyable evening. Thank you all

Well if I could give zero I would ... I live in Headcorn and thought that I would give it a 2nd go as the first time was rubbish! Well I was not disappointed it was totally rubbish again ... the tandoori chicken was an insipid green colour and tasted of nothing but mint .... surely it should have been spicy and red? The Chicken pas sander was green! And tasted of mint?? The pilau rice was in fact plain rice with no flavour at all!! The poppadoms came without dips and the whole meal was disgusting and bland and ended up in the dustbin .... what a waste of money ... I certainly would not recommend this place to my worst enemy .... don't waste your money !!!

My best-tasting veggie curry award goes to the Krishna's vegetable Balti (I live in mainland Europe so U.K. Readers may know better). Great, friendly service and delicious food in a beautiful old building. Highly recommend.

We always have such a warm welcome when we visit. The food is always great and the choice is vast. With themed events and half price curry nights what more could we ask for!

Great Indian restaurant located in the village of Headcorn.We have never been dissappointed when visiting this restaurant.Staff always friendly and no problem ordering something that is not on the menu.Our friends were impressed as they could taste all the different spices.Basically the restaurant will try to cork to order.(The menu is not vast.)Will try and visit this Indian restaurant at least once per month.

Authentic Indian food and a cosy ambience. The staff are always warm and welcoming. Our personal favourites include the Kerela Chicken and Chicken Madras.

We have been to Krishna on several occasions and have always found the food to be excellent- the staff are friendly and helpful and the service is great. The staff always go out of their way to help with any members of the party with special food requirements- we have been with Vegan and Lactose intolerant friends and they have always been well looked after. Was disappointed the last time we ordered a takeaway but it has redeemed itself as we went for a meal in the restaurant and what a difference. The food was excellent and all very tasty. Can't wait to return for another meal.

Have had a takeaway from here twice now. The first time the food was really nice but the second time, the rice seemed a funny colour and a bit burnt looking and the meat dishes weren't that warm. The gentleman serving was very friendly though and asked what we liked and recommended us to try something different next time, which we will give it another go.
