Small cozy place serving excellent Udon along with a nice variety of Japanese dishes. The vegetable tempura was really good. Pork belly was the special of the day also very good. If you don’t want to wait long (or very long) to be seated just go early in the evening. We will certainly go back.

The open kitchen makes the dining experience fun and interactive. I loved the hot soba noodles with shrimp tempura. The broth was simple, rich, and delicious. The place was packed even at 10:00 on a Tuesday evening. Check it out!

Great lunchspot for udon noodles with cool view of the kitchen. There are very few covers so you will almost certainly have to queue, although we went at the end of lunchtime on a Monday so avoided too big a queue

The interior of restaurant made us hopeful about the food - unfortunately a HUGE letdown and felt it was a waste of £19. Ordered a bowl of chicken and vegetables udon (sounded promising on menu) which it really is a bowl of bland, salty broth noodles with 4 small pieces of stir fried chicken pieces and some raw leaves (bunch of rocket leaves and cabbages which was bitter) - it tasted bland and boring - I could whip up something better at home in 10 minutes. Biggest waste of money - the establishment should invest in improving flavour of your dishes rather than the interior!

Always a queue outside Konya Soho which shows its popularity. The wait is worth it and bear in mind that Konya can get very busy. Food was superb, we had the rabbit and autumn vegetables and the cod from the specials menu, very tasty. Also had the vegetable tempura, large pieces which would have been better if smaller. That said plenty of food, and atmospheric.

I popped in for breakfasts but was told I was too late despite the couple next to me having their breakfast being delivered and me seated just before the cut off. I settled for tempura udon which was perfectly acceptable however it should have been better than 'perfectly acceptable'. The portion size was on the small side (I am not a big person so do not need a bigger portion) and there was only 1 prawn tempura that had not been totally de-veined. The wait staff sat me right next to a gentleman on the corner of the bar meaning I leaned right over his food. I asked to be moved to the space further down but was refused as I was told this was for a two top which did not fill up the entire time I was there. Having me lean over him to eat must have been super uncomfortable for him, it certainly was for me. Could have been much better. To be honest, it should have been much better.

Worth the wait, a very simple service where they seat you at the bar providing a simple menu to choose from. The food order is taken quickly and brought to you pretty quickly also. The food is simple but somehow full flavour. The broth is light and rich but not overpowering, it's accompanied by great udon noodles. The mixed tempura dish served had a good number of large pieces. The tempura was very light and crunchy. We will definitely come back again

My friend and I went here for an early dinner. We had to queue for a while to get inside (we were offered a seat outside, we decided to wait longer for inside seating). I ordered the homemade pickles and the tofu hot udon noodles, my friend had lamb katsu. My food was nice, very clean (i.e. no oils or heavily processed ingredients) which I like. My friend enjoyed the katsu curry sauce and rice but didn't like the lamb. I tried it and didn't like it either. It was very greasy and saturated in oil. I also ordered a homemade kombucha. I saw the large jar with the mother as soon as I walked into the restaurant so I knew it was the real deal. It was a bit sweet for my taste, but I like a very tart kombucha. The service was really good and our food was made quickly. All the staff were pleasant and polite. The atmosphere was homey and worth waiting in the queue for. In terms of price, it was very reasonable for Soho. I think the pickles were over priced - £5 is excessive for such a simple item - but the main courses were good value. Portion sizes were perfect, exactly enough to feel full but not so much as to feel stuffed.

We waited an hour (in the cold) to get into this restaurant - but it was worth it! It's only a small restaurant (probably just under 30 spots) and everyone is on a long bench around the cooking area, but if you want to experience authentic udon it's probably not far off what you see here. Udon noodles cooked in frothy boiling water for 16 minutes. Then they are removed and strained and wait in a wooden tray. When toppings are ready they go back for a warm dip before being removed via another strainer and go into a bowl. Then the all important broth, which has probably been brewing for hours, is poured on top. And then you get your fish, shrimp tempura or whatever toppings you've chosen. The result: delicious ramen, perfect texture and broth full of flavour but not too salty. Only downside - long queue and it's not a place to linger but if you want fresh udon noodles, then visit. Oh, the shrimp tempura is divine.

Average food but what a horrible lady at the entrance. We were 5 and waited outside for our table and she rudely stated that we won’t sit together. We had young kids but agreed as she won’t listen or pretend to care. If you need extra plates or cutlery then you are screwed as no one comes to you or makes any eye contact. I had my hand up and said excuse me a million times and still no one listened or came to me. So I got up and helped myself. It’s so shocking to have such a rude person at the door. The other gentleman was still polite and helpful. Food is Ok. Not sure what the hype is all about. Paid £130 for very average lunch with a nasty sever who was clearly out there to ruin your day. And we paid 13% service charge. I couldn’t even attempt to ask her to remove it or we would have got kicked out.

Last week I met my Son and we went for a meal at Koya Soho. He'd been a couple of times before but I'd not been. We had to queue which surprised me. Menu not over complicated and a good choice of Udon noodle dishes. We had starters and mains, all very delicious. Well worth eating here, as you can also see the kitchen activity in front of you. Only downside was that they only seem to accept two people or more at a time and not people on their own which was a bit odd. Cost isn't cheap but it's not at the high end. All in all a very good meal do worth a visit.

I went with my daughter, ordered tempura udon and kitsune udon and 1 apple juice. The bill was a whopping 35+ pounds. I understand the rent in Soho must be expensive, but still the udon dishes were not worth the price. The tempura sauce was too light and the noodles were way too big and thick and heavy. The balance between flour and water was not good, I dare say it was amateurish. Won't go again.

I went to Japan not long ago and have been wary of eating Japanese in the UK since. But the atmosphere and food were very authentic. My boyfriend and I came for dinner, and were excited about trying one of the rice bowls from the Donburi menu, however they were out, but we didn't mind as they had notified they were closing promptly for a staff party so it made sense. The waitress could have been a little more attentive as I had to ask the people next to us if they were definitely out of rice but the service was still nice and relatively efficient. We ordered Udon Noodle, Atsu-Atsu prawn and vegetable tempura, it was great and being able to assemble the dish yourself was very authentic. We had been here for a special occasion due to my birthday. We arrived for lunch and despite the restaurant wasn't very busy, we received a very rude welcome from the waitress, who seemed to be really annoyed to welcome other guests. Nonetheless, we started our lunch with all good proposals but we didn't have the time to have a look to the menu that the same waitress was behind us ready to take the order. We just sat and with the menu closed. However we wanted to have a good lunch in this special occasion and we forgot about that and we order two hot plates as starters, which were super amazing and this is the reason why of my 4 stars. Again, when we finished, we were ready to order other plates and I asked to the same waitress for the menu. She brought us the bill and again without explanation or excuses. We were exhausted but we order an another plate. And here we are! During our tasting, the waitress asked to my sister to moved because she had to sweep the floor between us. At the end I saw the bill with an increase of 12% percent for the service charge. I service that would have been better if the waitress hadn't be there, so she was again very rude slamming my credit car on the table. We will never return.

We arrived at 10:20pm been told close at 11pm, but never mentioned last order time so assumed as long as we can seat before 11 then we can get fed. We were the 3rd table waiting to get in so we decided to wait. However at 10:55 even table now available they won’t take any order and 2 more group of ppl behind us. We were really shocked how they treated us. They should simply set a last order time to avoid wasting ppl time.

Not sure if I understand the hype. Nice udon noodles but nothing spectacular. A bit overpriced I think.

Lovely little restaurant, cosy, good service and nice food. Service was fast and efficient, we had a veggie and a prawn donburi’s with ginger tea and both served with miso soup.

Koya bar is one of my favourite restaurants to visit in London, and I don't even like Udon very much!

Due to the various positive reviews we decided to give this restaurant a try. The choice of dishes are sufficient to meet any taste, allergies and vegetarian desire. The noodles are of good quality. The tempura coating was a bit thick for my liking. What anyone needs to be prepared for is the overall price for the meal. It isn’t cheap even for London.

Getting good authentic Japanese food in London is often difficult but Koya does not disappoint. Every single time I’ve been here has not disappointed. Love their tempura udon and their variety of side dishes.

Koya is a small Japanese restaurant that specialises in udon. There are many varieties, in hot and cold soup. There was a long queue on a sat evening but it was worth the wait. My tempura udon was tasty.

Not a brought me an impressive taste of Japanese food. The It in noodle was tasty, duck was delicious and tea was nice. The restaurant is too small, but quite affordable

Quasi senza insegna. Due pezzi di stoffa all’ingresso. Un lungo banco con sgabelli all’interno. Ti siedi e mangi noodles, zuppe e tempura molto buoni. Tutto a vista.

Best place in London for Udon. A great choice of Udon, excellently prepared for a perfect lunch time dinner. Reasonably priced, great quality, excellent add on's. First place in Europe with fresh Edamame! Will come back next time in London.

Small restaurant located in Soho. Does not accept reservations. Can get busy and can feel a little cramped, party as all seating is at the 'bar' where food is served directly to you. Food choice was very good, with a decent choice of options for vegetarians. Drinks more limited but sufficient enough - would recommend the beer. Food was piping hot and very tasty. Let down was the bill - pricey for what it is. Two mains, a couple of sides and a beer = £47!

Textura udon estaba bien. La sopa no era nada especial. El tempura de gamba tenía mucho

Our family was able to getaways right away at the counter seating. We each ordered something different and everyone was satisfied. My item was the cold udon noodles with tempura vegetables. Also tried the homemade lemonade- very good only wished it was larger.

You will meet one of most talented and friendly bartender Ivan (or Evan). I had a great conversation and got a chance to learn about the cockatiels he made for me. I just had a chicken cherar and it was good too. The size of the portion was bigger than I expected. I loved the background music. I’d love to go there again.
