Kowloon Chinese buffet restaurant in Liverpool

¿Qué puedo decir? Evítelo a toda costa. La comida era espantosa también podría haber ido a Islandia y haber hecho los pedazos en mi horno al menos, al menos habrían sido cocinados correctamente.Ningún buffet era solo una selección de platos para elegir y había reglas sobre lo que podía hacer y cuántos, etc.El personal era lo suficientemente amable, aunque era un hombre joven, era agradable.

Me quedé muy impresionado con Kowloon Chinese Buffett ya que aceptaron que me dejaran llevar mis propios recipientes de plástico para guardar mi comida para llevar. Ahora puedo disfrutar de una toma sabiendo que estoy reduciendo la cantidad de plástico que terminará en un relleno de tierra.

The worse £20 spent in my life.. Every single thing has gone in the bin.. The starters was all salty..soup tasted burnt..special chow mein was definatly off..I'm totally discussed..Shouldn't be allowed to sell food..I'm fuming..

Food took far too long, for a supposed buffet was extremely poor! Only 1 member of staff who couldn't even handle a baby's party! Food was expensive and pretty poor considering the obscene prices! Will not be returing and recommend anyone who's considering this restaurant to avoid it at all costs.

Visitamos por primera vez la semana pasada. Me molestó que el letrero diga "Todo lo que puedas comer Buffet chino" y no hay un buffet a la vista! Encontramos a los entrantes bastante bien, sabían frescos, pero las comidas del plato principal eran horribles. Encontramos el sistema realmente extraño de solo poder ordenar 6 entrantes a la vez, por tabla. La atracción de un restaurante de estilo buffet es que puede elegir entre una gran cantidad de platos y puede tener 1 o 2 de cada artículo que elija. El restaurante claramente está tratando de ahorrar comida desperdiciada, pero está restringiendo la elección de sus clientes. La cantidad de artículos fue muy inconsistente, una vez obtuvimos 4 sui mui, la próxima vez que obtuvimos 2 y algunos entrantes fueron empujados juntos en un plato. Pedimos nuggets de pollo para nuestro bebé y eran más como piezas de palomitas de maíz, en realidad eran agradables, pero el problema era que cuando pedíamos Lemon Chicken como plato principal, era básicamente la misma palomitas de maíz con salsa de limón y trozos de piña (sí, piña ... ¡no tengo idea de por qué!) El curry verde tailandés se veía incomible, tenía un par de trozos de carne, no había gambas y era ridículamente picante. Lo peor de su lugar es el servicio. El personal parece que no pueden ser molestados en servirle. . . ¡Ahí es cuando puedes encontrar uno! Desaparecen todo el tiempo dentro de la cocina, no comprueban si alguien necesita algo y muchos clientes se quedan sentados esperando para ordenar o esperando sus platos durante mucho tiempo. No escuchan, ya que trajeron un par de artículos equivocados o bebidas equivocadas y empujan la comida a cualquier lugar sobre la mesa sin preguntar quién la ordenó. Realmente sentimos como si estuviéramos molestándolos solo por estar allí! Sus hijos también están corriendo por el lugar que es molesto. Intentaron cobrarnos 6 en la factura por nuestro hijo de 2 años, sin preguntarle su edad y ella es pequeña y no se ve cerca de 2. Por último, el lugar se está desmoronando. La moqueta estaba raída y muy sucias, las mesas y las sillas estaban viejas y gastadas. Estoy tan contenta de no haber podido ver la cocina porque no creo haber comido allí. Publicidad falsa, si se trata de un restaurante buffet, ten un buffet! Es bastante razonable para una comida china, pero para nosotros, nos complace pagar un poco más para tener un buen servicio, más opciones y un lugar más limpio y moderno para comer. No volveré

We went to this restaurant because we thought it was a buffet as says in its name. We looked but couldn't see any food. However we were told we could order six starters at a time. Everything was prepared fresh and brought to the table. We could then order more starters or start on the main courses. Again everything was cooked fresh. The meal was excellent. The only disappointment, just ice cream to finish. But will definitely go again. Even little granddaughter enjoyed herself....

Have passed this place many times on our visits to see our son at Uni' so decided to finally try it. There was already quite a few tables of customers early evening so we thought we had made a good choice, however it's not like our local Chinese buffet where the food is on display and you help yourself to what you want. It's a pre-order which I can understand saves waste and food hanging around but....You are only allowed to order a set amount of starters, which were actually the nicest course, then you have to order your mains. As previously mentioned what is served is not the hottest. The wait staff look bored silly, there is no interaction other than when you order which is when they feel like coming to your table and they were all wearing puffa coats as if they themselves couldn't wait to get out-very unprofessional! Going by the grime in the fish tank, the whole place needs a damn good clean too. Sorry, not for me.

Come with my children for Sunday dinner service is dreadful got our soup waited 30 mins for starters only brought out 2 of them had to wait another 15 mins for the rest it put me off my main dishes didn’t end up ordering no main waste of money not once did we get asked did we want another drink two members of staff 1 stood by the kitchen on her mobile phone as my son was waiting 10 mins for sauce for his chips all I was getting told is sorry about that I forgot bill come to £60 odd and we left starving me what a waste of money thought I’d treat my kids I was better just putting a lighter to my money

Just got some food delivered from this place and it was really good! I had one last week from an old favourite on Allerton Road and it was ok but not that great, so thought I would try this place which I had never heard of. Food was much better and prices were a LOT cheaper! I would definitely get it again from here.

We’ve ate here twice, once through the week and once at a weekend. No waiting involved and the service was good. The food is what you’d expect at a buffet, fairly average and could do with being warmer but we still enjoyed it here and would return. Reasonably priced as well

I had eaten here previously at a wedding and remembered it positively but our experience this evening was far less memorable and is unlikely to be repeated. Soup - chicken and sweetcorn- was fine if tasteless. Starters included fried wan tun but the waitress had great difficulty in finding out what they were made of. It finally transpired that they contained prawns. My partner is allergic to prawns! Close call!

We visited this place on Saturday night was 5 of us The staff very friendly and food was very good some nice flavours the food come out hot they even gave jugs water for free so credit there we will be definitely going again

Once again, the food was poor. Sickly sweet hot and sour soup; a selection of fried starters that were different shapes, but all tasted the same; dry and tough duck with pancakes; chewy chicken with a scattering of cashew nuts in an unpleasant sauce and some very mediocre ice cream.

Went here for buffet with husband. Soup -salty

£16 each and limited choices. not a buffet by a longshot. too many rules and buffets shouldnt be like that.

The food was average not adult size portions more like a child's,not all you can eat you can only pick 6 items from starter menu and 1 from the main you can have a bit more of the same starters but nothing different and at £13.80 pp not worth it at all, every all you can eat buffet I have visited you can serve yourself with whatever you want and not have to wait one at a time to be served.

Amazing food and huge portions! Clean family-run business. I would highly recomend this place for all their variety of menu items are really tasty. Lovely environment, friendly staff and really helpful, welcoming manager. I wish I could give them 6 stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Food was lovely came out piping hot couldn't fault any of it. Giant portions well worth the money would defo go again

Staff are mostly new and need more experience and training. A good clean wouldn't go amiss. The food however is excellent. All freshly prepared and at a very reasonable price. I would still recommend it for a nice cheap meal.

The food was better today, although the hot & sour soup was still too sweet and the dessert ice cream portion was on the mean side (I suppose I could have ordered another). Staff were pleasant and attentive and the meal - £13.50 pp - was good value.

This is not a buffet as customers do not serve themselves, however you can ‘technically’ order as much as you like from the menu. You are limited to one main course per diner at a time and guests are requested not to over order, which does make sense. Service is OK and the food is of an average standard. Hot and sour soup was very sweet and gloopy. Aromatic crispy duck was dry. The rest was alright. £13.50 a head (£15.90 on Friday & Saturday) is reasonable for the quality.

Me and my fiancé come here quite often after work when we can’t be bothered cooking and never had a problem love it especially the young English girl with the black hair she is so polite and attentive. Although this day we come we ordered our food as normal except while we was eating our soup the starters come out ok fair enough. When we got to our crispy duck I was I had a picture is was very wet (Ino that suck is fatty but this weren’t fatty) it was wet and greasy and it stunk I didn’t lift the plate from the table but it stunk. We asked the lady to take it away as it stinks and is very greasy and she replied ok will take away, she did not try to rectify or apologise or nothing or offer us replacement. We ordered mains and wasn’t paying that amount for just soup and starters I ordered special friend rice as though it’s the least likely to have a fault I was wrong this came out shiny full of greasy again I ate a spoon full which tasted like the wok was burnt and left it but again she collected plates and nothing. Now I have been in the restaurant when someone has kicked of about the food tasting burnt and she has give them free drinks or one hasn’t paid but for us to come in nearly every 2 weeks and even recommend family and friends to come and not even a sorry was ridiculous. WONT BE RETURNING!

Visited this lovely restaurant with friends and family (some from London) on Sat 17th March for an evening meal. Great choice of food and drinks, from set meals to all you can eat and banquet. We all chose the banquet style menu, and what a feast it turned out to be. No complaints at all, the staff were wonderful. We were able to sit back and enjoy our food in style, without being rushed, followed with coffee and some lovely ice cream. The restaurant is open mainly for evening meals, Mon-Sat from 5pm until about 11pm, and Sundays from 3pm until about 9pm, so next time I will probably go on a Sunday for a late lunch or early evening meal. Seems like a good place to enjoy birthdays or other celebrations. Definitely on my radar.

We have been here before and yet again it was enjoyable. Food was hot and well presented. Staff were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere from our table (right by the fish tank) was pleasurable. For what you pay, it was more than sufficient for a mid week meal. All you can eat is an apt title, order as much as you can fit in, then ice cream to finish!

The first time we came it was fine so we returned...... So we came again 2 weeks later and I hope you've got 5 mins.... The only thing we got as ordered was the soups. The starters we ordered came out separately over a 25 minute period. In this time we had stuff brought out and put on our table which after us taking a couple of things off it the waiter returned and told us they were for another table and removed them but didnt take them back into the kitchen, he took them straight over to the other table!!! Then When ours eventually came out half was wrong so was returned then after another 10 mins we got it all, after taking a bite into the chicken wings found them to be freezing on the inside..... So returned again... Then onto the mains, we ordered sweet an sour chicken, sweet chilli chicken, and beef in black pepper, we got the first 2 but got served beef in green pepper and black bean, so returned it and got an apology, 5 mins later they returned with a fresh meal of........ beef in green pepper and black bean!!! Returned again and had to explain to the disgruntled chef who come back out the kitchen with the meal saying this was black pepper that it had green peppers and black beans in not a black pepper sauce to which she went back in and when the waitress returned we got..... Chicken in black pepper!!! Unbelievable!!!! I can honestly say I felt like I had worked a 8hr shift to get this meal for 4 sorted. I kept looking round for Basil Fawlty or Ant & Dec to come out laughing!! Utterly disappointing on every level & will never return.

Visited many years ago and we enjoyed our meal.

This restaurant was recommend to us so we thought we’d give it a try. When we entered the restaurant there was a couple of full tables but it was not bursting at the seams. Our table of four were seated at a table laid for 10 at the back of the restaurant near the toilet...not a good start. The staters and main courses were served piecemeal and with quite a wait in between, although the portions were generous the quality and taste was very poor.

We were a large group who had booked in advance. There were not nearly enough staff for numbers in restaurant. The food was lovely but service was chaos and we did not receive the food we ordered. Although advertised as Buffett we were served as you would an a la. Rate service. Starters were lovely. We did not receive all of our mains despite reminding staff several time. Only three of five main meals were received. Manager was not in the least interested and said we had received some food. yes we did receive some food but not what we ordered and not what was advertised.

Mother in law booked here for Family birthday meal - I did my usual and checked trip advisor. I was filled with dread!

We had veggie spring rolls - very crisp and tasty. Then shared veg curry, bean curd mixed veg, bean curd in black bean sauce, chow mien with bean sprouts and boiled rice. All fresh and delicious- especially the black bean dish. Good portions. The service was good as well. Would go back and glad we gave it a try after seeing the not so good reviews on here.

Been to this restaurant many times since the concept has changed but after tonight I won't be going again.

In the words of my 8yo daughter, "This is the worst restaurant EVER!!!" And she's not wrong!

This used to be a great restaurant and I ate from there several times. It has now renamed/branded to Kowloon. This is our second meal, or was supposed to be. Last time, (a week or two) we felt the food was not so great as it used to be, but perhaps we ordered the wrong stuff. This time we ordered with Big Foodie. Then we had a call, but were not quick enough to answer. We phoned Kowloon assuming a problem with the order. In fact they said the could not deliver as advertised, and so could I drive there and collect. I was less than delighted, but drove over to them anyway to collect. When I entered the place I was welcomed, they checked that I had a Big Foodie order and asked me to wait. I waited for 15mins or so before they came over and asked what I had ordered. I dug up my email and showed them for the waitress to exclaim “ooooh”. They had not processed this order. So as I then had to leave with no dinner, I checked email to see that the order had been cancelled by the restaurant about 30 mins after I placed it. Presumably whilst I was sitting right there in the restaurant waiting.

This used to be our favourite Chinese in the city, so much so that we were more than happy to drive half an hour to get to it. It has recently changed hands, price and style, and not for the better.

Unlike the usual Chinese buffet, where everything is left to stew on a row of hot plates, here, everything is cooked to order. There is plenty of choice and you can eat as much as you like. All the favourites are there, including crispy duck with pancakes and the quality is, on the whole, very good. Reasonably priced too.

Oh my gosh where do I start. We visited this restaurant last night as a party of 18 people for a 50th birthday. My partner and I arrived first and we took ourselves to the table. We were given 2 menus even though they knew another 16 people would follow. We were ignored from then on until they came to take the order. Not once did they come over to ask if we would like any drinks. When the rest of the party arrived they decided maybe the only way to get a drink would be to go up to the counter. They were then given drinks and glasses for 18 people to carry to the table themselves. I have never in all my life known this in a restaurant. Absolutely awful lack of service. Now onto the order. We were told we had to order in groups of 6 people and we could all choose 1 starter item each (not a great idea if you dislike other people's choices)!! The starters came out slowly taking some time to complete the order and in fact in some cases did not complete the order as it failed to arrive. I would like to point out that the soup tins could be seen in the kitchen so no home cooked food here! Now onto the main course. We were sat for over an hour after finishing the starters without having ordered our main. Nobody was making any attempt to take the order so I called a waiter and had to ask if we could order. The meals arrived shortly after and I can safely say they were not worth the wait. I had sweet and sour pork and the pork was rock hard were it had dried up in the microwave. My special fried rice had no prawns in either. I think most of us left most of our main course. Now on to the ice cream course....we weren't offered any!!!! At this point we just asked for the bill. £440...and I can honestly say I for one didn't feel happy paying a penny of it. We had awful food, service that was non existent and the most drab surroundings I think I've sat in since the 1970"s. Oh and no ice cream which may have actually been a good thing thinking about it.

Saw this driving passed and thought i'd give it a go. For this style of buffet you are seated at a table and choose 6 items at a time from the starter menu which they bring to your table, you can do this numerous times but only 6 items at a time. once you have had your fill of the starters you pick a main and they bring it over but only one main at a time. to finish off there is ice cream, all for £13.50 not bad at all. the drinks are separate though. Object achieved was stuffed upon exit.

通过朋友推荐来的，本来也没抱多大希望，但是来了以后真的觉得蛮值的，菜色多，价格也很实惠，老板人也超好的，一定会再来的 ‍♂️‍♂️

一家很棒的中餐馆，很喜欢店里的环境，还有美味的食物，可以在国外看到这样一家餐厅，真的倍感轻切，店里的服务态度也让我觉得很棒，真的很喜欢，默默得给小店点个餐

来到这家餐厅让我感受到家的味道，来英很长时间了很想念家里的美味饭菜，可是吃了好几家中餐厅始终找不到家里的味道，无意发现这家餐厅就和朋友进去尝试一下，结果意外惊喜如此美味，良心推荐，很正宗的中国味，推荐大家去尝试一下

Recently changed management and set up, not for the better, a lot of deep fried food, not many fresh ingredients I should think, buffet style idea is very good, cuts down on wasted food but overall not impressed. Staff are lovely and try hard to please.

Went with my family to celabrate my son finishing his SATS ,I had heard good things about the place,After looking forward 2 a good night ,It all went down hill ,plenty of empty tables but the all had food left over from previous customers & needed clearing and cleaning ,You couldn't tell who worked there ,left sitting waiting for someone to come to us ,Without sounding a snob ,we were charged for 4 adults ,though it was 2 adults & 2 kids,put this with the drinks ,It was quite an expensive night ,Bill was £82.How that works ? Dont know .Food not great ,service none existant ,All in all very dissapointed ,deffo wont go back !!!

The restaurant has recently changed hands, changed name and changed its trading style. It's not a traditional Chinese buffet, you have to order what you want. The starters were below average, the soup was too salty, the duck wasn't freshly cooked and arrived as a lump of meat on a plate. When it came round to ordering the main course I chose the "Special Thai Green Curry" the only thing special about it was it caused me two days of indigestion, it was a plate of green gloop, with chicken, beef, char sue and one king prawn in the middle! After a couple of mouthfuls the acid started to rise. It was probably the worst thing I have ever eaten in a Chinese restaurant. We just wanted to get out of there, and I'm fairly certain that charged me full price for my 11 year old daughter. They've have no chance of us returning there, even though the Special Gloop Curry returned in my mouth numerous times over the next 2 days

A friend suggested to come here as it had been refurbished and had the option of all you can eat.

Came here for a family meal, group of 7. The food was really good quality and always hot and fresh. Service was a bit slow at the start but did get better. Will come again.

Went in for a birthday dinner with a big group of lads, about 20 of us. Everything about the night was awesome, the staff were so accommodating with everything we wanted. The food came out quickly and was delicious the table service was friendly and prompt, and nothing was too much for them!
