The food was spot on. We were there around 10.30 on a Monday night. Not too many people about hence the lesser marks for service and atmosphere. It was nearly empty except for takeaway orders. We ordered the second banquet on the menu for three people. The food was great. It was plentiful hot and each course was delicious. We ended up taking some home as it was too tasty to leave. It was eaten the next day for lunch. Definately recommended for the food. Would visit again.

Ordered from here via just eat....worst salt and pepper meal I've ever had. Flavourless and was literally just onions, a few bits of chilli...and ONE small piece of green pepper on it. I won't order from here again. If I wanted a plate of onions I'd order one.

Best avoided, I know they’re trying to make a living but the best thing about our meal was the little complimentary tub of sauce (certainly from a packet) Sadly won’t be eating there again.

Mediocre would be and over statement, Slapping onions on some bookers chips doesn’t make salt n pepper chips, ironically the didn’t have any seasoning what’s so ever. Enjoyed the box more than food. Absolutely disgraceful… furthermore…£1.50 for a can is day light robbery.

Very nice food, huge portions as you can see!! Service was quick. However, there was a small wait for a table, so maybe reserve a table.

Haven’t been to china town in a long time an was looking for a nice restaurant an all I can say is WOW it was fantastic . It’s right what they say . You get what you pay for . This was a nice meal an the staff are great really friendly an the portions are big we will definitely be returning soon

Ordered, chicken,in Cantonese sauce.wich was chicken in this orangy ready no taste to it sauce.the portion filled half the plastic container it was given in. Fried rice same again half a container ,But nice .vegy spring roll ,3in portion, a smear of filling and flat .far from crispy . Asked for wanton noodle soup , when got home ,it was chicken noodle soup . For this take out which I was hoping to share and enjoy and fill myself and my friend cost me £22.30 . I have a tracheostomy so I couldn't really go back and argue about how disgusted I am with what I got for my money . would I go back again , no . would I recommend them to other people ,no . apart from fried rice , the food went in bin . Thanks China city restaurant for a boss dinner . Not . You certainly got it wrong tonight China city . Thanks for nothing .has left me feeling very much deceived . don't deserve a rating but have to to do review.

Most polite helpful place,being disabled I required hackney cab. Restaurant stayed open at night until taxi arrived rather than locking up and make us wait outside .they also ordered the taxi for us. Food and service also very good. Recommend highly

Not to impressed Had banquet which included crispy duck...which when it came half way through...it was awful bone dry... so over cooked...but edible if you like it almost like pork scratching. Then to top that off the two main courses Arrived and both of them were very cold. I don't normally do what I asked of them next....I said can you heat these up...my reason for this was at that time of night 1.30am no where else would be open and we were hungry. I wouldn't go again

A poor experience no style poor food, and over priced

Food absolutely awful, drinks were warm, waitress didn't want to be there... a guy brought his pedal bike in to the restaurant and started fixing it whilst we were eating. The lights in the toilets are on a motion sensor and my wife fell on a step in the dark hurting her arm. We will be complaining to the council about health and safety in this establishment. Complete waste of £40 and an hour of my life ....

Absolutely disgusting. Waitress looked like she didn't want to be there.. the food was horrid the drinks were warm .. a person brought a bike in to the restaurant and started fixing it whilst we were eating. The toilets are not lit until you fall off the step as my wife did and hurt her arm then the lights come on via a sensor. Absolute waste of £40... Avoid at all costs ...

We booked this venue to end a leaving do for a work colleague as we specifically wanted the Karaoke. We were a bit put off by the reviews but so glad we didn't take any notice of them as we had an absolutely fantastic night. The food was good and the staff couldn't do enough for us during the time we were there, even booking taxis for some of our party. Suffice to say I would not take to heart all the negative reviews as we thoroughly enjoyed our night and would definitely go back again.

分量尚可，味道真的不行。猪肚鸡两星，就是一锅鸡汤加上猪肚加盐加黑胡椒，自己做也完全可以。鸡肉不入味，料味太重，食物本身不香，分量还可以，仨人加个菜吃得饱。羊肉串零星，肉干柴无水分，而且竟然没有羊肉的膻味（吃起来不像羊肉）？甚至不确定是纯羊肉。至于无水分，应该是冷冻肉加热了一下吧。完全不推荐这两道菜，别的菜没吃过不评价了。

Avoid at all costs. I took my girlfriend here for a birthday treat, was supposed to be a lovely sit down meal, but was ruined by the disgusting food. The prawn crackers were actually dirty looking and/or burnt, the so called crispy duck was cold and looked raw, the chicken was slimy and looked uncooked as well. The rice came out overcooked and clumpy, stuck together, it was without a doubt the worst meal we've ever had. On getting back to our hotel we both felt I'll, and my girlfriend was physically sick. please avoid, we took a leap of faith and decided it couldn't be that bad after reading reviews on trip advisor, but it was...and then some. If you don't want your night ruined, then please avoid at all costs.

Disgusting. Dirty place. Walls all cracked & dirty. Food cold & slimy chicken. Cold crispy duck & not crispy. Burnt dirty prawn crackers. The best bit was the iced tap water !! Do not use. I don't want people wasting there money. Waste 50.00. spoilt my bday treat. Was sick after 👎👎👎😠😧

AVOID!! Just Terrible. Chicken curry with two pieces of chicken within. Sauce like water. With a can and fried rice came to £16. Probably ripped off because I'm a tourist. Stay well away from this trap.

One star is still too much than I can rate this horrible restaurant. The servers have no ideas of what Servicing customers means. We ordered some dishes, and we had to wait forever until those were served. They didn’t give us water, just letting us wait. They only deserve -5 stars. If you want to be treated with tremendous bad services, please come here, and it’s guaranteed you will not be disappointed.

Upon entering the restaurant, you're met with a nice clean waiting area and friendly staff behind the bar. Food was nice, especially the beancurd in garlic and chilli sauce. The portion size isn't bad either. Service was decent, the waiter was friendly and good at explaining the use of the karaoke and was very attentive, coming in every so often to take drinks orders. The karaoke room we used was tidy and clean. Toilet facilities were OK too. I would like to ask others to please don't be so quick to judge this place, as other reviewers haven't been so kind with their words.

Worst karaoke restaurant I’ve ever been. Service absolutely ridiculous! Slow, rude, nasty food and would never come back to this disgusting place again. If there was a no star rate I would of gave them that. Service charge was also not worth given!

I have never in my life tasted Chinese food so awful. We arrived at 7 o’clock and we’re left for a good 20 minutes before a staff member finally asked us what we would like to order. Out of the 14 odd tables only 5 had people eating so the staff can’t say they were run of their feet. The Soup was tasteless and needed a knife to slice it. The Wor Tips actually bounced on the plate they were more the consistency of rubber ...like they had been warmed up in a microwave and don’t even get me started on the Combo starter....due to the discusting start of our meal and service we chose to leave without ordering a main. An older couple who sat next to us arrived just before we got there they were visitors to Liverpool they sat waiting for food ...they only ordered special fried rice for god sake an waited a hour for it to be served.. Avoid this place like plague !!!

Debieron haber asumido que estábamos borrachos y sin darse cuenta de lo que estaba pasando, porque después de que el ADMINISTRADOR repartió tres pintas de coca sobre la mesa, dejó el mantel húmedo y el hielo sobre la mesa, nunca se molestó en limpiarlo hasta que le preguntamos siete veces .Los camareros no tienen idea de lo que está pasando en términos de comida. Cuando llegó la comida, una hora después de la espera, no quedaba arroz. ¡Decidieron sustituir esto con fideos que era 4 sobre el precio del arroz, y nos cobraron por ambos! Es seguro decir que no fue comido o pagado.El resto de la comida llegó frío, probablemente se quedó allí sentado durante una hora hasta que se molestaron en traerla, ya que los camareros no se daban la vuelta a menos que prácticamente te levantaras y saludaras.Cuando trajimos todo esto al camarero y le pedí ver al gerente, ella nunca apareció hasta 20 minutos más tarde a pesar de mirar varias veces. Después de disculparse y limpiar la mesa, tuvieron la audacia de cobrar dos veces por los platos que solo pedimos uno.Absolutamente horrible servicio y personal. No se lo recomendaría a nadie a menos que desee una intoxicación alimentaria y una discusión al final de la noche.

Estúpidamente ignoramos las críticas de TripAdvisor para evitar comer en Liverpool Chinatown y fuimos a China City pensando que seguramente no podía ser tan malo. . . . estábamos hambrientos y después de un montón de turismo listo para sentarse. El lugar estaba desierto, aparte de algunos miembros del personal que comían en una mesa. Pedí pollo chow mein y me dieron la opción de fideos crujientes o suaves. Nunca he comido fideos crujientes antes y pensé que sonaban bien, así que fui con esa opción. Cuando llegó mi plato, eran fideos crudos con pollo hervido y cebollas encima. . . . eso fue todo. . . sin color, sin sabor . . mi compañero lo describió como un fideo de marihuana cruda. ¿Cómo pueden los chefs chinos en un restaurante chino en Chinatown equivocarse? ! ! ! ! ! Honestamente, fue increíble y el chef debería estar avergonzado.

Junto con las otras críticas que acabo de leer, estoy de acuerdo en que este restaurante es frío y el personal en el mejor de los casos, desinteresado. Sin embargo, mi problema principal es con la comida. Comida fría y poco presentada. Duros wontons que prueban vegetales viejos y flácidos y 'cerdo con verduras de temporada' que en realidad era grasa de cerdo sin sabor con hojas hervidas chinas. Podría seguir. Sin lugar a dudas, la peor comida china que hemos comido.

Fuimos a 'China City' para una comida familiar un sábado por la noche en febrero de 2018, el restaurante estaba tan frío que todos tuvimos que mantener nuestros abrigos / chaquetas durante la duración de la comida, lo que no motivó a ninguno de los empleados a preguntar si estaban fríos o no! !

Ordered 2 starters which came out 10 minutes apart , plates were not warmed up and were freezing cold for both courses and we had to use the same cutlery for both courses. We had to eat our food very quickly as it went cold straight away, the restaurant itself was cold, and there only seemed to be 1 person waiting on and she was rushing everyone , our chips never came out with the main meal , and when we went to leave and pay we’re asked if we still wanted them! The waitress apologised and said it was busy, I counted 24 people in the room and 17 had already been served. It’s a shame because the food actually tasted good but there lack of attention to detail and cold plates defiantly a no no

It was the first China town city I have been to and I loved the atmosphere and all the decorations looked amazing look forward to visiting the many more but well worth a visit to here and the rope walks.

Siempre he disfrutado de las formas de la cocina asiática. Así, cuando llegamos en Liverpool hasta tarde en la noche, decidimos ir para algunos chinos. La anfitriona era grosero desde el comienzo y no sé por qué no dejas de una vez.

The service was horrendous!! We were booked in 4 6 and didn't get 2 the room till 6.20 cuz they wasn't quite ready!!There was 9 of us an we just wanted picky bits no big meals but they said no we had 2 order a minimum of 7 banquets!! There was a choice of 4 banquets so we said ok we'll have 3 As 2 Bs 2 Cs an they told us no we cud only choose 2 or the 4 banquets!! So we said ok just give us 3 As and 4 Cs!! An god forbid if ur a veggie and ask 4 a meal without meat!! By the time we finally ordered and that it was 6.45 so we had 45 mins of r 3 1/2hrs in the room wasted. She came in with r soup an prawn crackers an threw the bowls of prawn crackers on2 the table!! Oh an she took the prawn crackers away we she brought in the starters even tho we hadn't finished them!!! There was ribs so I asked 4 a napkin an she brought us in blue paper towels!! Then as I'm eating she bent over the table with marigolds on wiping the table with her backside in my face!! As there was 9 of us we asked 4 a bottle of vodka which was £68!! It came an was a 70cl bottle of Smirnoff that's £12.99 in the shop an they had just coloured over the price in a marker pen! We asked 4 mixes an they charged us £9.50 4 a jug of Diet Coke which they just poured from a bottle!! The price of the drinks probably paid 4 the gorgeous velvet and glitter wall paper they had. The woman was so bloody rude an then they came in at 9.30 an told us we had 2 leave!! Then at 9.45 she came in shouting at us 2 leave!! We had a scream though and made it r own. But once is definitely enough an would definitely never go back!!

Arrived at China city, was seated in the restaurant. When I placed my order I was informed I hadn't spent enough money to sit on a table and if i wanted to eat the food it would to have to be take away. Considering there nobody in the restaurant, and far from the closing hours of the restaurant I reluctantly agreed, as I wasn't hungry enough to order more food. I was waiting for a taxi to collect me, sat on the 'waiting bench' and ate one dry chip out of my takeaway container, to receive the most bizarre response. I was screamed at by the 'lady' behind the counter who stated I couldn't eat on this bench. I told her I was waiting for a taxi and it was arriving in 3 mins to which she told me I should stand outside (in January) it felt like minus degrees and I found this restaurant, which stank of animals anyway the worst place I have ever been in my life and I would strongly advise people to eat here at their own risk. Don't eat here unless you have a large disposable income and enjoy being ridiculed for your appetite.

Booked karaoke room for our xmas party. 11 of us said the food was excellent. We all can't be wrong. Great night. We'll b back.

Not too much to say. The staff was unfriendly (dont know about all the stuff though, but the woman serving us was really not too friendly and even rude). Dont want to go there again.

Go there very regularly- it's has good food, the service is usually terrible but I find it amusing now. It's almost like a Chinese fawlty towers- they get the orders right, they get the bills right but there are a couple of waiters there who like to throw food down onto the table and who don't tend to the tables very well.But the price is great value. And the food is usually very good, particularly the dim sum.

Cold atmosphere, POOR customer service. Don't want to spend any more time thinking about this location. Definitely not recommendable.

Went very early in the morning after a night out. Staff were still happy to serve food. Thought the food was nice! A lot better than Tai pan food wise in my opinion. Agree with the other reviews, in that the restaurant was bland and doesn't really have an atmosphere, but I don't mind that, as the food was good quality.

Well, it's not often, that I rate a restaurant that bad and there is really not much space left to rate it worse. But to be fair, it is. The atmosphere is cold, restaurant is not really tidy, the ceiling is broken, water seems to have run into it and never repaired. Not an atmosphere what welcomes a guest. Waiter was reluctant but friendly. But while we were eating we heard him belching loudly. This must not happen in a restaurant. We ordered a dinner plate of various appetizers, later then duck for all and me especially had chosen chicken with cashew nuts. I really cannot recommend this. It was...it is hard to describe...it did not taste, even the rice did not taste. No idea what he did to that food, but he destroyed it. Others were quite pleased with the dinner plate and the duck, but did not like it too much as they said. No one of us was ill after meal, so there is space left to make it worse, but i really do not advise to go there.

We went there with a group of 10 Crazy Germans and they all loved the crispy duck and the delicious spare ribs - except out friend Willi who went the chicken with cashewnuts and was disappointed.

This restaurant was pretty empty when 3 of us arrived for dinner, we waited paitiently while the one and only waiter was on the phone.After 5 minutes the waiter showed us to a table close to a portable calor gas fire ( I have not seen one of them in years)The restaurant was very cold so we gathered the heating was broken or off apart from the portable fire.A waiter came to us an took our drinks order and then returned with drinks within a few minutes, he never once smiled!We ordered some soups, dim sum appetisers and main meals and they arrived shortly after.Everything was hot and tasted fine but due to the cold and the miserable staff the whole meal was just spoiled.Eating your evening meal in a cold restaurant with your coat on is not my idea of a nice meal out and I will not be returning.

Wanted a nice romantic meal with partner and thought liked the look of the menu. Even though we really enjoyed our food, the place was a huge let down. The restaurant felt cold and unwelcoming and seriously needed updating. The walls needed replastering and the chairs had rips in the fabric. The staff looked fed up and didnt smile at all. One girl was leaning on the bar with her back to the customers, playing on her phone. Our waiter was playing on his phone while clearing a table. Thats not the atmosphere that you want in a restaurant and because theres only a few places open in China Town, they really need to sort themselves out if they want to keep their business! Its such a shame because the food was yummy.

I visited here with my family on Saturday 11th Jan 2014. We were at an event close by so fancied a Chinese whilst we were waiting for it to start. We had eaten at a few restaurants in China Town, Liverpool before and had always had a really good experience.We arrived at this restaurant at exactly 6pm, just as it opened. It was freezing outside, we had been walking for about 10 minutes, and this was the first restaurant we came to in China Town. As soon as we walked in we were seated and drink orders were taken. As I said it was freezing outside and it wasn't any warmer inside. At first we put this to the place just being open, but it didn't improve throughout the time we were there.We decided to go for Banquet B between 4 people. The starter was a chicken and noodle soup, which was by far the nicest thing we had (not difficult to get wrong really). The rest of the food we had was terrible. It all looked the same, slimey! And all tasted the same, greasy! The boys dug in (as they do), but I stuck to the egg fried rice and chow mien noodles. The decor of the place was reasonable. Nicely spaced out tables but couldn't really get a feel for the atmosphere as we were the only ones in there. This may have been because it was so early. The music wasn't what I would call 'authentic', it kept skipping between Chinese rap, Britney Spears and Kelly Clarkson, with some old time rock thrown in there every now and then.Before we left I decided to use the restrooms. The boys had been previous to me but had said nothing. The toilets were downstairs (I didn't look for a disabled upstairs). From the top of the steps they looked promising, nice and bright with laminate floors. However once I got down the stairs it was a different story. I could here the sound of flushing water. Once I got into the ladies, one of the toilets was flushing constantly (didn't fancy sitting on that). I moved onto the next cubicle, the water in the bowl was dirty, with dirty tissues all over the floor, and the same in the next cubicle. I decided I could wait.I told the others about the toilets when the boys piped up that the men's were the same but WORSE! Apparently one cubicle had faeces all up the wall! Considering it had just opened before we arrived, you would have thought it would have been cleaned.I was really disappointed, especially after never having had a bad experience in China Town before. I will definitely be giving this restaurant a miss if we go again!
