Was staying at the hotel and after a long day was too tired to venture out for a meal. And wanted something light. It was late, so I was told the sushi belt selection would be limited. Well if they call what came out as limited I can't imagine what the normal selection is. Fresh, tasty. Amazing value. One of best miso soups ever. Will definitely check out the rest of an interesting menu. Well done! And thank you to the lovely hostess.

My wife bought groupon and we had sushi buffet here last night. Restaurant is almost empty and waiters is polite and attentive. There is no atmosphere and despite being in a nice hotel it looks more like a canteen more than a restaurant. Our meal is cheap and on top of 30£ Groupon we paid £7.50 on top and we just paid £10 cash Inc tips. So for around £18 per person we got green tea, miso soup and unlimited cheap sushi. Out of the 1 hour we were there we have seen 2 plates of salmon sushi (thin slice on top of rice). No other sliced fish or sea food. All night there are small rolls with tuna To be honest we could have more sushi and better quality ones if we went to Wasabi or even the more expensive itsu for £18. I did see a fly in one of the plate on the belt, it was a tiny 2mm ones which we did not make a fuss out of it, we were too hot to be bothered. Shame we cannot give zero star , hope if you are reading this choose your Groupon elsewhere

Visited as part of the Groupon deal for a friends birthday. Pros: - Visited as part of a groupon deal so it was £15 each for unlimited sushi - Nice clean bathrooms - Surroundings, inside a hotel so quite extravagant - Staff were helpful and nice enough Cons: - Limited Choice: 5 types of Nigiri (prawn, octopus, squid, tuna and salmon) 5 Uramaki (rice on the outside) and a few Hosomaki (the small rolls with seaweed on the outside and usually a single piece of meat/vegetable in it) This very quickly got boring and it became a struggle to rack up even £15 worth of sushi - The Nigiri meat slices were sliced a lot thinner than other sushi joints I have visited, so the proportions and enjoyability of the Nigiri itself dropped a lot. - Atmosphere was very much dead inside, although it was a rainy weekday, there was no warmth, the music was very quiet and it just felt uncomfortable. - They charged around £7 for a cheesecake and piping happy birthday on the plate, we decided to pass this but a lot of places do offer birthday treats for free, and not to disrespect anyone but the labour put into a cheesecake isn't a lot. We went elsewhere for dessert. Simply don't think the restaurant offered me enough value for money, would not return.

This restaurant is located within the Grange City Hotel, a couple of minutes from Tower Hill Station. We had a Groupon £29.00 for two deal which gives you an hour and a half time slot to 'eat as much as you like' from a selection of small plates on a rotating conveyor belt. The sushi was average and the conveyor belt, although well stocked, offered very little variety. It looked and tasted a lot like the food from fast food chain Wasabi however not as fresh. A £29.00 meal for two would typically be great value; we felt this particular 'deal' was over priced. We also paid an additional £18.00 for two small glasses of warm, white wine. Not a place to go if you love sushi and don't want to feel rushed. The restaurant itself was nice, fairly cosy and looked clean.

Some of the reviews relating to this resturant/groupon deal are nonsense. the restaurant is within a fine hotel at Tower Hill. The restaurant itself is cosy, has pleasant decor, staff are friendly and very helpful. There is a chef present by the sushi conveyor belt, making fresh sushi as quick as he can. There is variety. There is salmon, tuna, vegetarian, beef etc. If you want more salmon the chef is very gracious and does some more for you and puts it on the belt near you so you can pick it up before someone else does. He will do this for anyone. You can eat as much as you like. Is it a Michelin starred restaurant. No it isnt, but you can have a drink and stuff yourself if you want for 13 quid. No time limit. No one rushes you. Its a bit like paying for Ryanair and expecting Emirates first class if you read some of these reviews. Its fresh, its chilled, its friendly, there are no insects, it hasnt been sitting there for hours. You can barely get Nando's for £13. It is worth trying

When I called the restaurant to make a reservation, the lady on the phone was very unfriendly. I arrived at the restaurant and was shocked to see nobody dining there and it quickly became obvious why... The food was very disappointing. There was NO variety, all the dishes looked and tasted the same. The sushi seemed to not be fresh at all and there was so much rice in the sushi I couldn’t even taste the fish! It seemed like they used more rice to make the dishes look bigger and to fill us up faster! We ended up only eating the fish and leaving the rice! I was drawn to this restaurant on Groupon it looked impressive online. I will never dine here again. Unbelievable!

The best bit of this meal was the waitress - a Roumanian girl who looked after us really well. We didn't have sushi because my wife didn't want to eat raw food - so we ate off the menu and she was pretty happy with the fare - it was her first Japanese. A reasonable bottle of Sancerre - not too expensive rounded off a pleasant evening. It was not very busy for a Friday night so lacked a bit of atmosphere.

Where do I start? First of all we got a groupon voucher for this all you can eat sushi. I come up to the restaurant and show the voucher on my phone. They say “we need it printed, you can print at the hotel reception”. So off I go to get it printed while my wife sits down. Reception are useless and I am 15 minutes trying to print this voucher off! So get into the restaurant after they finally accept the voucher. And they only have two different type of sushi going around the conveyor belt! We asked about more types of sushi and they shrugged their shoulders. We lasted 15 minutes and then left. Trying to get my money back from this shocker of a sushi restaurant! If I could give zero stars I would!

Today I was lucky enough to meet Petya for lunch and be treated to Koto II Japanese food. We started with the sushi/sashimi from the moving dishes and we picked out four and shared with our other friend Nikki. We then had, on Petya's expert advice, the sizzling spicy prawns. These were delicious and quite spicy although I hadn't realised there would be so many peppers in it, which I cannot stomach at all. Despite that, the meal with a rice to share was really delicious, washed down with a couple of glasses of Prosecco and water. The service was good, the food was very good and the company was excellent.Highly recommendedFoxyfox10

My friend and I decided to have a weekday lunch here having been dissuaded from eating closer to the river by the hordes of tourists heading for the Tower of London! The restaurant was very quiet which suited us fine for conversation purposes and as a result the service was swift and efficient. We both chose paninis which were tasty and filling, the roasted vegetable one was £7.95 and the ham and brie £8.50, reasonable considering the location.I seem to recall that this bar and restaurant are part of the adjacent hotel which might explain the incredibly long walk to the toilets! All in all a very pleasant lunch and the restaurant fitted our purpose perfectly!

After an afternoon of walking round the tower of London We had a hankering for sushi. we set Google maps to find a sushi bar and happened to stumble across this restaurant. initially the massive appeal was the all you can eat option. .. However on arrival at 3pm we quickly realised that this option is only available after 5pm. my partner was gutted he has a large appetite! However a few sushi plates, miso soup and a couple of sides later we were happily stuffed. The food was lovely it tasted fresh and any additional items that we ordered arrived swiftly and piping hot. As with other reviews it was very quiet for a Friday afternoon, in fact we were the only 2 people in there! But that was fine with us we had a great time and really enjoyed the food and a couple of beers. i hope this place is busier when the all you can eat option starts, because it's a great little place, lovely venue and i think could have a fab atmosphere on a busy Friday night.

My boyfriend and I came here as we were staying with the adjoining hotel and the sushi is probably the worst I have ever had. It is a lot worse than chain sushi restaurants. The food was clearly not fresh and had been sitting there all day. The salmon was chewy, the rice hard, and the fresh greens brown around the edges. The ginger had been sitting in a pot for an indeterminable amount of time and had gone an interesting shade of yellow with brown around the edges. And there was an interesting plastic-meets-fish-enclosed-in-a-hot-plastic-box-for-a-long-day-smell emanating as soon as you removed the cover. At least in restaurants like yo sushi there is a sell by date stamped on the boxes which means they don't sit around for too long. I don't think they are too worried about gone over food here. There was barely anyone in the restaurant, which should have been a warning, but haven not eaten since the morning we were not feeling very picky. Big mistake. The adjoining hotel Grange City is 5 star and so we would have hoped for something better. But given that the hotel also does not live up to its 5 star rating, it seems to make sense. Thoroughly disappointed and left a pretty horrible taste...

This restaurant is part of Grange City Tower hotel and it has a little know Japanese restaurant down stairs called Koto II.It's right next to a part of the London Wall which looks fantastic lit up at night, very romantic. The most amazing thing is that this place has sushi buffet for GBP22.00 per person (including a miso soup and a side order normally massive portion of teriyaki chicken). It is much better value for money than Yo! Sushi, bigger portions too not that it matters, it is a buffet after all. There is fresh tuna, salmon, veg sushi, california rolls, cuttel fish, several kinds of nigiri, eel, sweet egg, fresh fruit etc etc. A very good selection. The sushi is prepared at the hotel, it may not be the best rolled/made sushi, but it tastes great and there is lots of it! :o) The ingredients always look and taste fresh. In all the times hubby and I have been there we have never had a bad piece of fish.Drinks are a little bit pricey and the service is hit and miss. Sometimes really good and fast, othertimes woefully slow. However, it is help yourself when it comes to the sushi as it goes past your table on one of them conveyor belt things.Hubby and I have been there several times and the sushi is consistently good, we've never eaten off the al la carte menu, but it looks good.I really, really don't know why this hotel's sushi deal is not more well known about. The hotel really needs to advertise more, every time we've been there it has been dead quiet with only one waiter/waitress! Although it is romantic at night.I found out about their sushi offer by pure chance through work. If someone who represents the hotel is reading this; you have to get some kind of advertising going! If they advertised a bit more I am sure it would be busier. It is right next door to Fenchurch Street station (I could faintly here the train announcements) and also hop away from Tower Hill underground and Tower Gateway DLR.This place needs some more customers! Give it a try!******* Sushi offer is from Mon - Fri after 12h00... I think

I enjoyed the food and the service was fine but value for money it isn't. The food was pretty good but not remarkable. Smaller plates are quite well priced but larger dishes are very expensive as is the Sake. The larger choices are in fact small as are the servings of Sake for the price and you have to pay extra for ginger! I quite enjoyed my experience so wouldn't say don't go but I will not return. When I got the bill I was surprised at the total and feel I could have a much better meal elsewhere for a lower or similar price.
