Consistently delicious food with excellent service. There is a nice range of dishes, Malaysian, Chinese and more. The meat is always tender and flavourful, and portions are great for the price. The hostess/manager is so lovely and attentive and the service is very fast. Hands down my favourite place to eat in summertown!

Utterly uninspired and uninteresting food. Crudely prepared and underflavoured. We had high expectations that were totally defeated. Not cheap, either! If you want great Chinese food, Xian is only a few hundred yards away.

Oh dear. After reviewing the menu and the reviews (including Mr Parker-Bowles' piece in the papers), we decided to splash out and go for a takeaway from Kopitiam. We ordered crispy duck, satay chicken and then beef rendang/chicken curry. The starters were generally good - lovely satay sauce, and - apart from a few flabby bits of fat - the duck was tasty. This where the good experience ended ... ! Firstly, the chicken curry. Had the menu (on both the deliveroo platform or the restaurant's website) said that the chicken would be on the bone, we'd have completely avoided it. It was, in fact, mostly bone, with gristly bits and pieces of wet skin - and even more concerning was that there were shards of bone in the sauce as well. One or two pieces of chicken were boneless, but trying to pick bits of meat off a thigh bone that has been presumably been broken up by a meat cleaver completely ruined the curry for us and we threw away the rest. The beef rendang was marginally better but, once again, there were bits of bone and gristle in there - I've not had a Rendang with bones in before and, once again, had the menu stipulated that the beef was (even partially) cooked on the bone, we would have chosen something else. The potatoes in the sauce were also only partly cooked. I was super-disappointed and am afraid that this may be a once-only experience of Kopitiam. The flavours were delicious, but the quality of the meal overall (whilst most likely more authentic) was runied by the lack of actual tender meat, and for the price tag of the two mains, the food was just disappointing! (WARNING .. the delivery prices are WAY higher than those on the restaurant's website ... EG The Beef Rendang cost £17.90 delivered compared to £12.90 in-house). That's just shocking!!

Oh this is heavenly. I have now been here twice; lunch and dinner and can't wait to go back. I have tried to sample the Malaysian dishes where possible and it has all been wonderful, plentiful and excellent value. So far I have tried roti canal, nasal leak, nanyang prawn noodle and my daughter had the dry noodles with duck. Definitely recommended you must try this place

Wow, completely unpretentious, authentic, delicious Malaysian food. Super friendly and helpful staff make for a great dining experience. I had the Tom Yum soup which was so flavourful, I then had the roti which were flaky and light with a delicious tangy dipping sauce. Then I had the steamed glutenous rice which was sticky and delicious. Finally I had Godmothers chili sauce lamb this was spicy, savoury and despite the fact I was already stuffed I couldn't help myself but to eat the lot. 100% would recommend and can't wait to go back to try some other dishes.

We've just had a very tasty meal from Tsang's kitchen. We phoned in our order and the meal was ready for collection about 10 minutes later. I feel very full now.

An actual life saver of a restaurant ! A quiet lunch with a friend turned into a horror story when, in a rush to eat the magnificent food they served, I choked on a piece of meat and found myself unab
