Excellent Coffee! We ordered a Cortado and a Flat White. Both tasted amazing nice depth of flavour, creamy finish, no bitterness. Would highly recommend a visit if you’re into your coffees.

Enjoyed a very good coffee and a decent toasted sandwich. Lovely simply furnished surroundings, spotlessly clean. Friendly staff. It's a shame the food offering isn't a little more extensive.

Excellent coffee, and not just 'excellent for Stornaway', but truly quality coffee. Highly recommended. We'll be back.

Came here for lunch today with my family and would not recommend. There were no baby changing facilities, or even mat so I had to change my baby on the toilet floor. We ordered our food, 2x panini’s, 2 toasties and some drinks. The paninis and toasties at £5.45 each I would have expected a small bit of salad/garnish or crisps on the side. But no this came on it’s own on a saucer. The table we were sitting at was damaged and for a £26 lunch I was highly disappointed.

Myself & friend visited for breakfast, just had toasties + two plain coffees ( cheese toasties ) Cheese was like plastic & not freshly made. Certainly two prices one for tourists + one for locals. Maybe they were busy because of festival, but can't recommend.

Love this place. Go here when im free, best coffee in town. Particularly love their mochas and home baking. Ordered a couple of to go orders for my workplace and they've always been very accommodating.

After a “surly” experience in another coffee shop in town this place was a like a breath of fresh air. Staff were lovely and coffee was excellent - I was able to get a cortado which was perfect. A very chilled out atmosphere cheered me up on a cloudy Stornoway day.

Went for coffee and cake here on our recent trip to Stornoway. Latte was creamy and delicious but the GF Lemon cake was out of this world. My daughter is the Coeliac but was all had the GF cake and was so light and fluffy which is unusual for GF. Highly recommended.

Great stop for real coffee lovers, this cute wee coffee shop is on the main road into town along the harbour. Views of the castle, good WiFi and a warm welcome.

Great wee cafe, we especially love their Gabbiccino hot milk with syrup. Their cakes are lovely too!!

Great wee Coffee shop in Stornoway High Street. Delicious coffee and cakes. I loved it so much I went back 3 times during my stay on the island. A must do if you visit Stornoway you won't be disappointed.

Friendly place with comfortable seating and great coffee. I stopped here because it was almost the first place I came across when walking towards the town centre, and had a lovely Cappucino. Plenty of people there, so must be popular.

We had some really good coffee and an excellent coconut caramel cake. It had a good feel - comfy sofas, people chatting, all very familiar if you go to city coffee shops... Worth a visit.

We dropped in - good coffee - helpful friendly staff - nice laid back atmosphere. All the cake was gone by the time I got there (4 pm) - but everyone else’s cake looked good

The cafe is decorated to get you in the mood for coffee, including some hessian coffee sacks and a fridge with some inspiring coffee mottos. Decor includes bike themes. Coffee was delicious and there are lovely places to sit and relax, enjoying the cakes and scones as well.

Great little coffee shop in Stornoway, with friendly and helpful staff. I had to find somewhere to work whilst in Stornoway, and the staff were great at putting up with me hanging around for a long time. I did buy lots of tasty food and drinks to ease their pain! WiFi is ok, but not particularly fast, so I could email and update online documents but didn't try to do anything more.

Stopped here with mum to have coffee as others where closed. Great coffee and cake. Very friendly and warm greeting when you enter the coffee shop. Views from the window are breath taking as you see directly opposite the castle and harbour. Would recommend this to anyone who are visiting.

Stornoway has many lovely cafes each with their own strengths and character, but Kopi Java definitely has the best coffee! Great service and coffee that tastes like you expect coffee should taste. Only wish is that they would use skimmed milk for skinnys ! Skinny flat white is just lovely, definitely recommend this place for coffee. ~Cheese toasties pretty amazing too!!

We had coffee at Kopi Java and it was very good as usual however I was surprised that we didn't get a small discount for using our own coffee cups. Is this a conscious decision or an oversight?

Best place for a great coffee/tea/mocha and gorgeous homemade cake. Friendly, helpful staff and great service. Comfortable seating and all ages welcome. Space for buggies. Toilet facilities.

We had time to spare and fancied a coffee and cake before catching the ferry. From the outside Kopi Java didn't look very interesting but what a difference inside. We were the only customers initially but the staff were really friendly and the coffee and cake was excellent. Half an hour later the place was full of regulars all sitting chatting to each other and so this must be a real 'go to' for the locals. It is a short walk away from the Main Street and so I guess is more of a social place for locals. Wish we had found it sooner.

This place has to have the best coffee in Lewis. Served brilliantly by an Indonesian with a Scottish accent. He also has local gaelic speakers working for him. Nice smiles all around!!

flat whites were delicious, strong, and pretty. The foam was perfect. Our son's toasty was a hit. Lots of neat toastie options.

This is a lovely coffee ☕ shop, polite and friendly staff and very helpful, I personally would say it's the best in town. It's a great place to relax and have a coffee and piece of cake.

A fairly new addition to the Stornoway scene. Two sets of double sofas and five other table chair sets. Large selection of different coffees and teas. Freshly baked cakes and Stornoway oatcakes with cheese or jam on offer. Coffee was really good. Friendly staff and well located on the street into Stornoway across from the castle. Free WiFi with supplied code. Well worth a visit

This is a nice cosy cafe and the coffee is very good. However I was disappointed when I asked for a glass of tap water and was told I would have to buy a bottle. Apart from the cost of the bottle, don't feel it is very environmentally sound when many places are trying to minimise the use of plastic bottles.

We were tired and fancied a coffee and some cake, and came across this little gem. Coffee and service fantastic, nice chocolate cake. Cosy and warm on a cold December evening...décor very pleasing and soft to the eye...thoroughly recommend.

Met with a friend here for a coffee. The home baking on display looked lovely and indeed the piece of cake I had was very tasty. The coffee itself was great and it’s nice to be able to get a decent coffee. The dining area is small and cosy, with comfy chairs and sofas for sitting in.

Being one of only a couple of coffee houses on the entire island, it is the best. Regardless, it's good. Nice staff and the cakes were great too.

Normally we don't keep returning to a coffee shop during a holiday - Kopi Java was the exception. Perfect coffees and tasty sandwiches/cakes. Relax on a leather sofa or at a table. Charming staff.

A truly excellent cup of coffee here in nice relaxed surroundings. The coffee is as good as any and better than what I have drunk in London.

Let's face it, the weather in Stornoway can be unpredictable. Back home we would call the weather this week 'dreich' - wet, windy and cold. So we found ourselves sampling the coffee and scones here more than once or twice during our holiday. The quality of the coffee impressed us all, presented with the usual barista style art. The staff were happy to explain how many shots of coffee were in each of the drinks. The atmosphere is relaxed, and I would guess that it would be hard to get a seat during the high season. There is a small selection of cakes or scones, but perhaps not enough to keep everyone happy. For seating the lucky ones have comfy sofas, but the rest have to make do with functional tables and chairs. I suspect that on our next visit here this will be one of the first places we look for.

Been here before and enjoyed very much, however today, ordered cappuccino, Americano, orange juice and a chocolate cake total £8.00 when the waitress brought over our order I asked for a glass of tap water, she said we don't do tap water only bottles, I was thirsty so bought the £1.00 small bottle. Asked on way out what was wrong with their tap water,... the explanation. .. nothing we do our dishes in the sink so we don't do tap water... ridiculous

We always enjoy Kopi Java, their coffee is the best in town and the baking is delicious. Especially the Hebridean Brownies.

Winter on the horizon, the days shortening but here's a coffee shop to provide a welcome bolt-hole. Good cake too!

Absolute life saver this place. Happened upon it while working in the area, dropped by for a quick takeaway Americano and was not disappointed. I've returned ever day since. Actually one of the best coffees I've ever had. Perfectly served. Thank you!

I would say the flat whites at Kopi Java are the best in Stornoway. There is usually a good selection of cakes and sandwiches at lunchtime, but I would prefer to see sandwiches made with brown bread too.

Despite it's name and my expectations I was a little disappointed with my experience here. My first taste of a coffee shop in Stornoway and I would suggest it has more of a canteen/café feel than a 'pretentious' coffee shop look. The coffee was hot but a little bitter and overcooked and asking for pouring cream seemed a little outré to the staff. However they were polite and the local customers were friendly but I can only rate it three star.

Went to this lovely coffee shop twice during our week in Stornoway. The two best cups of coffee we had all week! Would highly recommend it. Didn't try any food, but sandwiches and cakes looked fresh and tasty. Also noticed they offered gluten free options.

I went here in the morning to get a quick bite to eat along with a cup of coffee. The staff was extremely friendly and quick to provide service. They had baked goods as well as many different types of coffee available. I would recommend it in the morning for sure!

Delicous coffee and mouth-watering home baked goods. The oatcakes were especially delightful although very slightly let down by being served with grated cheese rather than slices but I'm being very picky. We didn't try the sandwiches but the selection of fillings was imaginitive and they looked super fresh. Will definitely return on our next visit to Lewis!

Coffee was good and cakes; wonderful. Clean and bright with free wifi. Slightly perplexed by speed at which drinks appeared given how many people there were behind the counter!
