Koover in Croydon

Food was horrible! There was no taste(seasoning), very bland. Also I saw the cook use his hands when picking up noodles to cook. Should wear gloves when touching the food, as you don’t know if he washes his hands when using the rest room. Very unhygienic! I asked for soy sauce on my rice and there didn’t seem to be none. Rice tasted like plastic. I would never order from here again, and would not recommend to anyone. Waste of money!

No many breakfast option on the menu for the location I think there should me more choices

I can describe this place in one word AMAZING.

What is going on with the Chinese food in this area? Recently I’ve been trying new restaurants but this place was down there with some of the worst. Absolutely basic, tasteless, stale, luke warm trash food! As soon as I finished eating what I actually could stomach my belly was bubbling like bong water. The Tofu was chewy, stale and the smallest portion I’ve ever seen for the price. Salt and Pepper chips weren’t even salty with no Chinese 5 Spice flavour at all. All I’m going to say is that thank god I decided to try it on the Deliveroo save 7 promotion otherwise it would have been over £30 and also on a Friday night just incase I shat my pants later and I won’t need to call off work the next day. I’m genuinely starting to think Croydon has the worst Chinese food out of all of London. 1.5/10 Bonus point for giving us free spring rolls and the curry sauce was ok.

The food was terrible sweet and sour chicken was dry and burn chicken balls were oily and undercooked grilled dumplings were terrible and were tangy go off who put sweet corn in dumplings the rice was plastic. I would never order from here again. £35 inedible food

Terrible service took my order on just eat and told me to phone for a refund obviously a restaurant who are gready and have no issue taking people orders without letting them know whats going on

Chef must have changed for was really bad prawn balls over cooked and bitter tasting rice not fried.

Love the place, doesn't get as much recognition as it should.. great little Chinese... Would recommend.

If I could put 0 stars I would. The lady wasn't pleasant Think she needs therapy. And they didn't even give us our full order then closes the restaurant right after.... at a weird time as well. I'm not surprised. Sketchy people do sketchy things

Food is always good when I order from here. The shop is a bit dark and gloomy. They only take cash payments here, which is annoying.

Ordered 5 dishes and one was missing! After waiting for over hour and a half. Food was average. Will not be ordering again.

Not as good as it use to be, I bought take away meals from the original owners back in the 60's, when I left Thornton Heath I kept going back to order, things has gone downhill since then. One Star I'm being generous.

Egg fried rice was soggy and had egg shell! Sweet and sour pork was horrible....and the salt and chilli fried ribs wasn’t hot! I wouldn’t recommend this place!

Very disappointed today. The order was incorrectly taken an the customer was blamed. Really. Being very busy good sign but be humble when you make a mistake.

JUST TRIED TO PHONE IN BEFORE I PLACED MY ORDER VIA UBER AS I HAVE ALLERGIES , SO WANTED TO MAKE SURE I WAS ORDERING THE RIGHT THING. TELEPHONE MANNER OF THE MAN ON THE OTHER LINE WAS APPALLING, I DECIDED TO BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

The most disgusting food service was outrageous and smells musky the fish need to go or environmental health needs to shut down.

My partner got me mixed seafood & rice, can't believe the lack of seafood, I may of asked for a large rice..wouldn't go back...

Went to Koover after 2 years and was very very disappointed. Ordered Koover Special with boiled rice with fresh chilli & extra gravy - agreed when ordering. What I received was a 'very dry' tasteless lump of boiled rice (hardly any meat & veg) with chilli oil on top. This is meant to be their signature dish but can't even get that right! I've been going to Koover for over 30 years and seen the management change and Koover slowly deteriorate over the years - but not as bad as yesterday. Unless they start putting a lot more 'attention' into their food I won't be going back.. What a shame!!!

I Dont Know If They Have Changed Owners... But They Gave Us Raw Noodles And Put Cooked Meat On Top Wouldnt Suggest This Takeaway Unless You Want Raw Noodles.

Me and my boyfriend live locally and normally goes to a different Chinese but wanted to try something new and based on the ratings here we settle for this place! However DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER!!!! I don't know how anyone can even rate this place??? This Chinese is the worst I ever eaten. EVER!!! I had chicken cashew and the "chicken" was too soft and absolutely disgusting. My boyfriend had the duck in plum sauce and the duck looked undercooked and soggy. Neither of us ate our food and I was too put off to even consider eating that night! I'm a foodie and love a treat but this place is a nightmare! Not to mention there was major language barriers when ordering over the phone, and when we went to pick it up the woman that worked in the til was extremely rude!

Great Tasting Takeaway Chinese. Been going there for years and they do really yummy food - would definately recommend! Try their Pineapple Fritters...
