The worst restaurant in Southampton！！！Very terrible customer service from a old men with glasses! Please avoid him if you want to try this restaurant

You can never go wrong with kokoro. My fav food from there is steamed rice and sweet chilli chicken.

It’s our first time to try this restaurant here in above bar. Customer service is bad. Seems like the front line(old man with glasses) doesn’t want to serve customers who wants to buy foods from them. Bad experience the fact that it’s our first time to try. Never ever gonna go back here again.

Good food, small environment, very friendly staff

Tasty fresh sushi made here daily. Sometimes we buy 2 deluxe sushi boxes for about £10 each as a takeaway and have it for dinner. One box is just right for an adult. Taste great. The place is small and busy. Hard to get a table inside but as a takeaway it's very nice.

Quick serve lunch, noodles,sweet sour chicken, large £9.95. Put your cartons in bin outside when finished. Help along. Just what I needed before my venue.

Food is good but let down by frontline staff with sulky faces. Customer service is bad. I was browsing through the menu and needed more time, but I felt that I was rushed to order when there’s not even a queue behind me.

Has always been my go to place in town! Lovely staff and very friendly. Food is consistently great in taste, great quantity. But lately, I’ve notice their prices have gone up significantly! Not somewhere I would be going regularly to unfortunately, especially in these times.

I am allergic to avocado which can make buying sushi tricky. I have ordered sushi from here, and they have been really helpful in accommodating it! Not only is their food very fresh, tasty, and delicious, but the staff is amazing! I thoroughly recommend!

It's a takeaway place, the food is good value for money, tasty a good portions

The food is a 10/10, just chef's kiss! Service, is a 4/5 I would say, they don't interact much but they always do an amazing job. THE ATMOSPHERE IS AMAZING, I get such good vibes topped off with the mouth-watering smell of fresh sushi. I actually got kokoro today, so if you want to get it I super recommend it :)

My son had prawns and now has food poisoning the only thing that he ate

AVOID. Terrible attitude. I wasn’t sure about how many pics in one portion, so I just ask can I have one chicken katsu by itself, its 3.50 on the menu. But I don’t know they give me a bigger portion and charge me 7.50. So I questioned it, and the waiter started to get angry, he said he give me nearly 3 pics inside blablaa….and started to make a scene and said that it’s my fault. But how would I suppose to know, I don’t work here… For me it was just an simple misunderstanding, but the way he reacted and deal with the situation was just terrible and very unprofessional.

Please after paid your bill, always check the receipt, because till staff who took my order and they've take away extra money from my bank card.

As we were eating I felt something stuck in my tooth and it was a finger nail this has happened to us three times never again 😡

I visited Korkoro and purchased 1X kokoro delux sushi set and 1X Nigiri & katsu curry and this order was takeaway. I took it back home and when I was eating through it my mother found a fish bone in her meal and nearly choked on it. I frequently visit the Southampton store and I have never had an issue.

I experienced terrible customer service today at your takeaway. From the start your worker(David, with glasses) didnt even smile, had a very negative attitude and not a tiny smile. When he made me food, i told him that he didnt put enough chicken in it but he disagreed and didnt react and didnt want to solve it. I told him its not my first time here and they always have sufficient portions here but he didnt react. He was constantly rude about it and didnt want to fix his issue. The food was amazing as always but the customer seevice by this lad is appalling and i would never want to receive service as such.

Love this food smells good and it tastes better than any other takeaway or eat ins in Southampton.

Tasty and flavourful! Liking it so much. Wasn't sure what I had but one was sweet and spicy chicken and the other salty sweet fish. Both were great. Could have done with more rice. Not seeing veg options (or I missed it). Would like to try something else too.

Great food and price 5 stars just gor that. Just wish it was a bigger restaurant so I could fit the buggy in easier and have more space for larger groups to eat. Also a shame the toilets are never working.

Lovely premade sushi, lots of variety

So good! I've had quite a few meals from here now and it's always delicious. I recommend getting the large mix and match as you'll get two large sized meals out of it.

Have been using Kokoro for around the last year, and have never noticed any issues which may suggest they’re not a reputable establishment. Saturday 24th June 2023, I purchased a salmon nigiri/ katsu chicken box, which is my go to, and what followed is quite possibly the worst bout of food poisoning known to man. I’ve had migraines, vomiting, fever, sweats, nausea and diarrhoea, coupled with excruciating stomach cramps which have left me unable to sleep, or go to work. There’s absolutely no way that this illness was caused by anything else than Kokoro’s food, and after a brief phone conversation with the manager, upon which they hung up, it’s safe to say they’re well aware of their practices, and don’t wish to invite any scrutiny. I’m appalled to say the least, and will be contacting the Food Standards Agency in order to log this as an official complaint, as I wouldn’t wish this pain on my worst enemy. Kokoro, you seriously need to rethink your approach to food- hygiene, heaven only knows how you were granted a license to operate.

I have visited this place so many times by myself and with family for a takeaways, the food is good quality, the staff members are always happy and there to help. My kids love the the prices are decent no complains from me.

Microwave noodles couldn't believe what i seen i tryed the sweet chilli chicken was the tuff and super chewie i will never go there agin terrible quality not cheap dont eat there

I've always been a bit wary of this place thinking it's just mass produced Asian food which can't be up to much but decided to give it a go. It's a bit hectic in there, no menu's are available so you're sort of thrust at the counter staring at a tiny menu board at ceiling height not knowing what to choose while the server asks you what you would like. I kind of just made a rash decision as felt rushed so chose chicken teriyaki with rice for £7.75 which was reasonable, The container felt heavy and was full to the top. I took the food to the park, it was hot and I was impressed that the chicken was good chunks of thigh meat with a fair portion. The sauce was a bit sweet and sickly not what I think teriyaki should be, not balanced between salty and sweet with a tangy note and I wish I had chosen something else. The rice was nicely cooked and the whole dish was very filling. I would rather eat this than some burger meal and will definitely go back and try other more savoury dishes.

What a lovely joint! The food is so delicious. Worth the money! The flavours last for a while. A few concerns: tiny space which is unavoidable, and sadly no bathrooms. The bathroom that is supposedly there is out of order for a few months now. I hope this gets sorted out soon.

Not authentic Japanese food! More like a fast-food canteen where everything is premade and the sauces are full of msg and too salty. Every dish is just sauce plus topping plus rice.

On way to table, terrible packaging gave way and my food ended up on the floor. Staff looked at me and carried on what they were doing, no offer of new food or refund. Staff barely acknowledged my excistance. Totally rude.

Best takeaway with reasonably priced food.

This is the best takeout food I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Deceptively large portions mean even a medium is enough to satisfy your hunger but a large fills you up properly. The spicy options are actually spicy and having tried 4 different dishes can safely say they are all delicious, I have always had noodles with mine so I can’t speak for the rice, but the noodles are excellent! Good value as well. Reasonable amount of seating room.

Would not recommend this place. The Katsu Curry Chicken had what felt like pre-formed bit of chicken which were tasteless. The curry sauce felt diluted. The sushi box was also dry, smelled strange, and did not taste anything like sushi.

Really nice food and it helps that the chicken is halal which personally gives me more options. Service was quick but seating is limited, probably for around 20 or so people so had to do a take away. Would definitely go again and order other options. Yum.

Typical fast food Japanese cafe. Bustling and busy. Great food if you are a meat eater but very limited for vegetarian. I had the seafood udon, which was disappointing. 3 crunchy fried prawns drowned in a gallon of broth with fat udon noodles. Not a good choice for me.

Popped in for some lunch. It was quick easy and you can mix and match your food orders. We had katsu curry with rice, noodles with sweet chilli chicken... Will definitely be going back, absolutely loved it.

Fresh sushi, typically good but the rice can occasionally suffer from sitting in the very cold fridge. Take out hot food also good but can't help but feel a little bit diddled by ad-hoc portion control on occasions

Food was ok but staff needlessly rude to us. We arrived shortly before closing - which we learnt by the waiter pointedly looking at his watch and barking "What do you want!" even though I had smiled and said I need to have a look at the menu first. We then had cold food and ate it quickly to be within their closing time. Looking for a bin to throw away our empty boxes (to save staff time; it's a fast food restaurant after all), and as no bin visible, we put the boxes on the counter. The same guy called us back from the door, pointing to a (craftily hidden) bin at the back of the room and ordering us to throw away trash there. I felt as if I am an annoying imposition on him and he really wants us to f.. off.

Found 2 pieces of long fish bones in my box of sushi. One is around 3cm long and the other one is 5cm long. Brought the box to the counter and one of the staff looked at the box and said ‘and?’ The other staff said that she would inform the boss and that’s it. Be careful when you buy sushi here.

Ordered from Deliveroo only to find the driver without food and saying the restaurant told him they aren't making food. Then to make things worse, Deliveroo aren't any help retrieving money either and calling the restaurant is helpless since they don't pick up either. Not even worth 1 star

First time I had it and it was amazing. Very busy all freshly made I had the chicken katsu with rice and my wife had the salmon with some extra sides. I'm definitely going again to try different items

Kokoro is a busy place and very expected cos their food is delicious! There's not much space to sit in at peak times, but you can always do takeaway! I always love ordering their vegetable spring rolls and sweet and sour chicken with rice. And just so you know, some of their chicken is halal. Just ask in store to confirm which ones.

I've eaten here previously - the katsu chicken curry is delicious. The prices are reasonable. I must try some of their other meals in the future. A treat whenever visiting Southampton. The staff are polite & friendly.

Simple but tasty Sushi and the best around. I ride 8 miles on my motorbike to just go and get Sushi from this place as it tastes so good. Also my friend says their Teriyaki Sakmon tastes amazing too and she buys it from there all the time. It is very fairly priced for fresh handmade Sushi too.

Finally went here after wanting to try it for a while and ended up eating from Kokoro twice in one week once for lunch whilst in town and then got it deliverood(?) I got the Deluxe Sushi Set both times which had an excellent selection at a reasonable price (for sushi). Will definitely use in future and bonus received my (mostly cold) deliveroo very quickly!
