Stopped for a quick Stop due to booking a b&b close by due to business .. food looked home made and was extremely tasty barman and wife were very welcoming and good hosts .. give it a try drinks good price too

Very good fresh traditional polish food, staff and atmosphere is really friendly gives you a warm welcoming feeling like being back at grandmas or mums, highly recommend to come and experience it for your self :)

What a find! We've been looking a great roast locally without having to travel to the New Forest and this was fantastic. We had roast pork, very generous portions, a jug of extra gravy and very reasonably priced. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and the drinks were also great value. Highly recommended.

It was our first family visit and we went along for dinner and drinks. We loved the menu and we all really enjoyed our various dinners of schnitzels and goulash. Service was excellent. We will be back.

We were fortunate to have a meal yesterday along with a beer or two on our walk along Shirley on July 26/24. The Angus burger was excellent along with the Chicken Devolay. The food is fantastic. Again we went for a walk along Shirley/High Street. After stopping at another pub to have a beverage or two we continued our walk back looking for another pub that served food... no luck. Fortunately we arrived at the Pig N Whistle again, this time for the Shrimp pasta special and the Chicken Devolay. This is not your regular pub food, It's really, really good. Thank-you for the great service, atmosphere, beer Choices and food.

This pub is First Class a great warm welcome, from the Landlord and Landlady, they catered for a group of over 20 of us. The food was Top drawer, cooked and presented really well. Would thoroughly recommend to all. - 5 stars indeed.

Not very often I’m giving reviews on restaurants but this for me was unfortunately huge disappointment, We arrived yesterday after 4pm was quite empty We ordered the food and for some reason we were waiting nearly 40min to get the food. Not gonna say anything bad about the food I would say it was good I had chicken devolie and my son and my Miss had gulash and potato pancake was quite average. The most annoying was I get charge 12.5% service charge where the is not much of a service I needed to pick up menu myself and order at the bar. Also is mentioned in the menue that the service charge is applied for 4+ servings and was only 3 of us. I paid about £67 for 3 of us with 2 soft drink and 1 beer. Sorry to say that but I was very disappointed over all experience for that kind of money.

I went there for the first time today as part of a family gathering, the staff were friendly, polite and worked extremely hard. The food was excellent, very tasty and the portion sizes were very generous. I saw other people eating there and their meals looked equally good.

One of my friend recommended me this place as there is a nice Polish food so me and my family went there. I ordered goulash with potato pancakes as this is one of my favourite dish in general. Unfortunately the goulash was tasteless and had a water consistency to the point that soked in to the pancake straight away. Pancakes came burnt as hell I’ve ate half and decided to leave it as it was truly horrible. I only decided to write this review because I was up all night and throwing up after this meal I believe I got a food poisoning. Also we been added on top 12% service charges where it says clearly in the menu that they add this 12% for 4+ covers and we went there as a family of 3. Definitely I would never be back there!

Great food, friendly service and decent prices. Was lovely to be able to sit in the beer garden with our friends and dog. Nice hanging baskets but the artifical decorations on the wall were a bit tacky and all of the seat cushions were soggy as they had been left out in the rain. Minor things though and we did have a lovely meal

It's Polish- English pub. We like to visit there at Sunday to have a meal. It's always lovely, fresh and well seasoned. Polish dishes or English roast. Delicious. Worth to visit and give a try.

Leaving drinks for colleague of my wife, nice cosy pub, easy to access the smoking area (yes I know, but what ya gonna do 🤷) Prices fine, food is actually very good, not an amazing selection of lagers, but enough. Service was fairly quick and staff were friendly. All in all, a very enjoyable experience.

Get there early for Sunday roast as they run out QUICKLY

This was the first time we visited this place. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There is nothing fancy about the place but it is nice and clean. The food was marvellous, Polish dishes on the menu and I had the goulash with fried potato cakes which was delicous and plentiful. Will definitely visit again

One of my favourite gems around the area, lovely garden and always greeted with a smile from behind the bar. Food is delicious, my personal favourite is the Chicken and Bacon Burger! Always freshly cooked to perfection! Would recommend it with a fraught cider! Absolute heaven! 😍

I booked a table well in advance for dinner for a family who came to Southampton especially. The person from the bar who took the reservation was informed that I needed a table for dinner for my family. Once there, it turned out that not only had they forgotten about a table for us, but they also forgot to inform me that their kitchen was closed at that time. It's difficult to find a table at the last minute, especially during the holiday season. It's obvious that the customer is not important to them. It used to be a very nice place, but now it's just rubbish. I do not recommend.

You can't eat dinner during the week only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and quite high prices

I would recommend this place to everyone. I had my wedding reception here and everything was absolutely perfect. Food was amazing! Guests left the place with full bellies , saying they have never seen so much food on the table before . Duck was absolutely delicious. Ewelina the owner decorated the place beautifully for me. The staff were very helpful and very polite , served all the guests with smile’s on their face . Thank you very much for everything. 😘

Good size meal.we both had the roast pork but ALITTLE expensive tho for where it is in Shirley plus it's only in a corner pub .meal tasted nice but roast potatoes were ALITTLE crunchy to cut .table was wobbly & decor ALITTLE dated but friendly bar staff especially the young boy . Plus lager prices were a bit steep,should b cheaper like food & then will b even more a popular choice to visit x

I have not been to this pub for years. On the off chance, I popped in for a roast. Didn’t know what to expect. Absolutely lovely. Cooked really well. The meat is really soft and tender. Nice, friendly staff too. Definitely be popping back. Thank you :)

Great little pub, busy with many locals coming in to enjoy the cheap real beer prices and well cooked, tasty and extremely generous meal sizes. If coming for Sunday roast do not eat breakfast!

The owner is not nice, the food is average, reheated in a microwave!! , service is mediocre, and what's more, if you pay in cash, they don't charge you!!! Scandal!!! A brothel on wheels, we do not recommend it!!! It was better just a few months ago!!

Recently refurbished, decent beer (although only Doom Bar on cask), and prices are fair for Southampton. Good band on last Friday too, and the food looked nice. Loses a star as the welcome was a bit frosty, but we aren't local so who knows. Would visit again when in the area.
