Really amazing food and service. First time I visit but definitely coming back.

Went with my wife for sushi was freshly made I had spiced chicking with noodles huge portions great quality

Ordered a meal for 4 online, good quality. Also tried bubble tea in store and it's not upto my personal standards but there is nothing wrong with it. They don't have many premade sushi sets available, you would have to order it for it to be made for you which can be both a positive and negative. Overall would come here again for the hot and cold dishes.

Fantastic food! Best katsu curry I've ever had, I can't find any other that even comes remotely close and the portions truly are huge. So glad they came to Glos, we don't get any other take-out anymore bar kokoro as they keep both me and my partner happy, he loves the sushi. Introduced the family to Kokoro for a celebration and they were all thoroughly impressed and will order again too!

I regularly visit this branch, as well as the ones in Cheltenham and Bath. Unfortunately, the quality of sushi at the Gloucester branch has declined recently. The sushi was made to order, but if I had seen what it looked like beforehand, I would have realised it wasn't going to be good. I ordered several boxes of sushi to share with my family, but the quality and taste were disappointing. The sushi rice was overcooked, overly sticky, and lacked the necessary hint of vinegar that good sushi rice should have. The salmon and tuna sashimi were not fresh; I even found a bone in one piece of salmon and a large, inedible chunk. After trying a few pieces, we couldn't stomach it anymore, decided it wasn't safe to eat and had to throw everything away. In the past, when the sushi was delicious, it was prepared by East/Southeast Asian staff who clearly understood how sushi should taste. I am extremely disappointed and, sadly, will not be returning for a while.

Ordered a takeaway after realising we have a Kokoro in Gloucester i work a fair bit so town is not usually my first place to go. I worked in Kent just over a year ago and had made this place my go to for dinner. The sushi and drinks arrived absolutely ruined by a poorly sealed bubble tea which its resemblance was to that of a fishy minestrone water bomb! Then the beef bulgogi and spicy chicken were appalling the beef had some form of mass that didn't look anything close to beef with some under cooked noodles! The chicken was so dry and over cooked which should of balanced out due to the very wet and mushy rice underneath. Overall it was shocking and really ruined my memory of what was a really good brand. I won't be coming back after what i have had tonight and i strongly urge others to get their food elsewhere!

I mostly come here on my lunch breaks but I always have a great experience the customer service is amazing and the portion sizes of the food is great for the price. Would 100% recommend to people looking for a bite to eat.x

Great food as always, the chilli chicken is so spicy and crunchy and portion sizes are good even if a bit pricy it's definitely worth it for the quality and taste. Staff was really polite and accommodating even during rush hour. My go to place in town!!

The naughty: sticky floor; and expensive unhealthy (hot) not remotely Japanese food. I ate sweet and spicy kitchen, bloody awful grisly chicken smothered in a sickly sweet sauce. Clean your bathroom, it's grimly grimy. The food (meat and noodles) was served in one bowl, which was difficult to mix. The not so bad: the server was helpful.

Took 45 minutes to make 3 bubble teas.

Highly recommend this place for bubble tea and food, it was really yummy…. And the staff was very good and friendly … food also really worth for the price 🥰 hope visit again

Great little spot to grab lunch - sushi is always a hit and so much to choose from hot as well. Portion sizes of the hot food especially are AMAZING - you get your moneys worth and more. Bubble tea also tastes great! Takes a little time to make but worth the wait. Staff are always delightful and so polite too - they make each visit fantastic.

Delightful Taro and Oreo Bubble Tea! As a loyal customer of Kokoro, I must commend the staff for exemplifying professionalism and consistently creating a welcoming atmosphere. They always exceed our expectations with generous portions that evoke a sense of culinary euphoria. The recent addition of bubble tea has elevated their offerings to new heights. In particular, the Oreo Bubble Tea tastes harmonious and flavourful, demonstrating the artistry behind bubble tea craftsmanship. We will be back again soon!

food is great, but the bubble tea is shocking. ordered, waited over 10 minutes and then was told there’s no ice so i have to wait a further 5+ minutes which i asked to have a refund and not wait as i was running late, then offered it with no ice instead so i reluctantly said yes, so a warm ice tea. tapioca was not set either, dry and crumbly in the middle tasted horrible (and cold, it’s meant to be warm). top and tail of it is they just don’t know how to make it properly, and is absolutely outrageous charging £5 for tapioca that’s not fresh/warm or even set. also to note the 10+ minute wait for the drink wasn’t due to queues there was one customer in front of me and she waited the exact same time as me.

Really good quality food and extremely generous portion sizes! A couple of friends told me they thought the food is overpriced, but I completely disagree. You 1000% get value for your ££

Updated 06.03.24 - originally was a good food spot but I've found the last few months the quailty has dropped in the food and the prices have crept up.

Go here every few weeks for a work lunch. Food very tasty and filling (even the small pots). Mainly tried the hot food but would definitely recommend. Sweet chilli chicken with rice has rapidly become our friend group favourite

I WILL GIVE UP MY LIFE FOR THIS PLACE IF I HAVE TOO. SOOO many options Affordable THIS PLACE IS SO CUTE I will marry all the workers too they are so nice. One day I walked in here, and I could feel the angels smiling down on me. The same day I bought a lottery ticket and won. Not 1mill, but Mars. AND Pluto.

This was probably some of the best food I have ever eaten! The portion sizes are incredible for the price, and the staff are extremely efficient and very nice!

I came with my friend and they ordered some sushi and dim sum which was absolutely amazing! But I like some foods salty and the vegetable noodles i had wasn’t as salted but it was still good regardless! 10/10 would definitely revisit

I love Kokoro food. Everything is delicious and the lunch box is a nice addition. Being a fan of Kdramas always wanted to try all these different asian food and they do have a variety of it. I hope they bring more food varieties to their menu. Whatever they have currently is Yum yum! The service by the staff is also a bonus✨️

We've dined in a few times and always had excellent food and service. Today we ordered to go and just demolished at home, it was perfect! Good wholesome food 👌 Highly recommend

I don't exactly come to kokoro for the customer experience, but would still be nice to be given the time of day whilst being served. Unfortunately the manager couldn't be bothered to even say hi and only spoke to me once to confirm the price of the food. He was too busy talking and laughing on phone, but should know that even general politeness goes a long way. He is just standing idle when the customers are waiting to order their food. I hope the owner of the chain can speak to their manager about this. Fortunately the food tasted really good.

Always really happy with the quality of food, service and cost. Even late at night. Freshly made sushi. Not had the hot food, but it looks great. I’m not local but drive to get it 🙌🏽 thanks

We’ve just finished a chicken teriyaki rice bowl and some chicken gyoza and it was fantastic! The flavours were great and the portion sizes were generous. The shop was also very clean and presented very well. Staff were also very friendly. This is a little hidden gem in the town that is well worth visiting

Popped in to grab a bite for lunch . Tried the chicken Katsu curry with needles. The standard medium portion was very filling and the crispy coated chicken was amazing. Loved the Katsu curry sauce...yum.

I ordered a large sweet chilly chicken with rice see photo. It was much bigger meal than I expected. Flavor was great but chicken itself was a bit dry.

I'm a regular. At least once a week. The staff are very approachable and professional. Even though the food is a chain, the staff ensure quality of service and the hot food selection is regularly tested and kept at the appropriate temperature. The staff clearly care about the establishment they work at and its a pleasure to attend. The menu makes for a broad selection of healthy options for people watching caloric intake. The staff are educated on information behind what ingredients are involved. You wouldn't think it is a chain. Try the Salmon Teriyaki. I keep coming back for it!

I love kokoro and always went to Cheltenham while craving for it and I was sooo happy it has opened in Gloucester, but I was very disappointed with the portion of food. The portion was disgustingly small compare to Cheltenham’s kokoro so I have decided not to visit Gloucester’s kokoro.

We had this delivered through deliveroo And it has been one of the best takeouts we’ve had! The portions are huge for starters and so flavoursome and the sushi was so fresh the salmon and tuna just melted in your mouth! We’ll definitely be ordering again and visiting in person too!

If I could give a zero I would, it was grim, rice was stodgy, salmon was frozen, then they couldn’t give a refund without the managers permission, so I had to wait for them to track it down. They also don’t do hot drinks. Stick with Hey Sushi so much better.
