Reece's Bar and Restaurant in Gloucester

Lovely authentic food, the South African lad that served us was lovely and had great recommendations! Would definitely recommend, good vegan options too

Excellent food, drinks and service. We had a starter of three plates Crab, Squid and slow cooked lamb chops. Followed by Jerk Chicken and Oxtail both served with dirty fries. Drinks were fairly priced although an earlier run on the Gin reduced options. The shots were huge. A great dining experience with authentic delicious food. Highly recommended.

This was our second visit came across the place whilst stopping in Gloucester one weekend and really liked it something different from the run of the mill usual places. So decided to visit for an early birthday meal for my husband and was still to the same high standard. The poor young South African lad that served us was very upset as he had just had bad news from home but he was still lovely with the way he served us hope he is o.k. Will definitely pay another visit.

Returned visit didn’t disappoint. Four of us; two couples and really enjoyed the food. Always been spot on. May even try the take away options !

We visited here for the 1st time on Saturday 19th February. We found the food to be lovely, I especially enjoyed the lamb chops and my wife had the lobster tail and fillet steak. The portions were good and cocktails were fab. This is an evening experience, the service was great and I never felt rushed. Now one of my favourite Gloucester restaurants, we will definitely be back!

My husband has been trying to get me to try Reece's for quite a while now. I was reluctant as I've never had brilliant food in the Caribbean. I finally caved in and went yesterday. It was fantastic, from the service to the food to the environment. I loved every minute of it and will most definitely be going back regularly. The food was delicious!

In Gloucester for a couple of days, I stumbled across Reece's and decided to give it a try. I chose the classic goat curry with rice and peas and certainly wasn't disappointed. I've had this dish several times before in Cardiff and the meal at Reece's was even better. Washed down with a Dragon Stout and followed this a shot of Appleton Estate rum ! Staff were friendly and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. I'd certainly visit there again.

Myself and the Wife had our Honeymoon in Jamaica and loved the food. So when we discovered Reece's Bar and Restaurant whilst on a weekend away in Gloucester we decided we had to to try the place. I have to say the food was excellent. We had a mixed platter to start of Jerk chicken wings, Deep fried prawns and squid. For main we both had the Jerk chicken burgers with sweet potato fries. The staff / customer service was 1st class. I wish I caught their names so could mention them in the review. To anyone visiting the area this restaurant is a must.

Can't fault this place, nice feel to it once you step inside, nice atmosphere with a lovely fish tank, excellent attentive staff and top quality food. Chicken wings plenty of meat and top quality, goat curry was top notch and the Ackee & Salt fish was perfect, food portions more than plentiful leaving us both full. Cocktails were spot on too and the price is more than reasonable for what you get. Definitely will visit again and recommend this place to everyone.

Came here on Friday night whilst visiting Gloucester for the weekend. The restaurant is on the edge of the Quays area, so is easy to find. Quite small so glad we booked. Really nice buzzy atmosphere, and excellent, attentive service from the young lady who served us. Really enjoyed the lamb chop starters and the curried goat was amazing. My friends jerk chicken was also superb. Really enjoyed our visit here and so glad we booked as it did appear to be a superior restaurant to those in the surrounding area. Will definitely come back here if in Gloucester again.

Absolutely perfect , atmosphere service and food it’s a lovely place to visit and the music is just right too !

I’m not normally one to write reviews, but oh my god this food is insane. A friend recommended Reece’s to me back in August and since then I’ve had it 3 times! We ordered a supreme meat combo takeaway, that included lamb chops, fried chicken, mac and cheese, fries and sweet potato fries. Oh my god, the best fried chicken I have ever tasted! You can tell that everything is homemade and cooked fresh. I’m looking forward to actually going into the restaurant as I’m told this cocktails are amazing!

Went on spec as in area due to reviews. Not disappointed... Food was really tasty. Recommend the chilli prawns to stay and the goat curry and stew chicken. Portions plenty... Hubby finished off mine as very filling. Only 3 staff on but coped well and didn't have to wait long at all. 2 beers, 2starters and 2 mains £50. Will return if ever back in Gloucester. Thanks guys.
