Food is amazing we travel 7 miles just to get it

interior design lacks any real depth or structure, food options are nice although the sushi platters are far to expensive for the quantity. Location is ideal for city centre. The rice and noodle bowls are the most popular things on the item, taste wise they will always leave you feeling full and wont be able to finish it. Flavours are okay. Biggest downside is the unpredictable nature of the staff who urgently require customer service training - far too rude and unprofessional. Will I return defo not 👎🏽

I had a fantastic experience at Kokoro Glasgow! Among all the top-rated restaurants I’ve tried in the city, this one truly stands out. The food is absolutely delicious, and the restaurant maintains a high level of cleanliness and efficiency. A special thanks to Mitra for their excellent service—it made the visit even better! She was welcoming and attentive, which added to the overall positive experience. The menu offers a great selection of vegetarian options. The fresh sushi and katsu salad were both exceptional—flavorful and perfectly portioned for a satisfying meal. Highly recommend Kokoro Glasgow for anyone looking for tasty Japanese food with great service. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Terrible food, received undercooked chicken. Avoid, there are plenty of independent Asian restaurants in the city centre that are far better quality.

Good selection of vegetarian food, tofu katsu curry was delicious & decent portion size, not too much not too little. Perfect for a quick & filling lunch :)

I came in here with my brother we expected a decadent Japanese meal but no we did not receive that. Instead we received attitude from the customer assistant, she has asked me if I wanted noodles or rice to which I responded “noodles” she had proceeded to give me rice in both our curries. When I have said to her that we have ordered noodles she responded with ‘no, I asked you you said rice for both’ which I did not. The other coworker didn’t see a problem asked her to changed the base of the curry to which she replied ‘LIES’ ‘you ordered rice’. The other co worker again asked for her to change it, she took the chicken out of the rice curry and plopped it on the noodles and angrily gave it to me to which I replied ‘thank you’ and got no response. I have worked in retail and kitchens for years and I would never treat my customers with that attitude, I wouldn’t have even minded if she was nicer but she chose to argue with me and call me a liar… the tables upstairs were dirty with rice noodles napkins everywhere. Probably will not be coming back 🐀

This food can’t be good for you. It’s full of chemicals like a bad science experiment. I put my dinner in the bin where it belongs. Total muck and an insult to anything with a gastro intestinal system. I wouldn’t feed this crap to pigeons.

Excellent tasting food ! I had the sweet and sour Noodles was delicious. My partner had the Beef Stew with steamed Rice which was also lovely. Will visit again when in Glasgow

We stopped here as we thought it looked like a lovely little restaurant and it was. The food was hot, delicious, and worth the money. I’d come here again.

The katsu/salmon nigiri is the best thing I’ve had. The perfect mix of cold sauced but yet crispy chicken with fresh salmon nigiri is amazing.

When to check the place out out of curiosity since my dental appointment wasn’t that long, had their Chicken Katsu curry and a green tea. Was really good. Would recommend

I ordered spicy pork rice, spicy pork is not quite enough, the waiter on the fierce put soup, put one-third of the bowl of salted pork soup, ate half of the rice after the salty really can not eat, asked to add rice, the waiter told me that I need to add money. Another waiter to add rice, waiter is not happy, I spent money to eat a bowl of salted pork soup rice has not been unhappy it, why is she not happy.🤡🤡🤡🤡

Ordered a delivery for sushi, gyoza and miso soup and my partner had a Katsu curry as well, very tasty!

Lovely staff, fresh sushi, but for Seafood is in soup, 8.95, which had no seafood in it, just is in noodles n 2 very small bits of crayfish tail, very dissapointed

Ordered on Deliveroo, my driver took 6 minutes and my food was somehow already cold. They packed Gyoza (hot) on top of sushi (raw fish). It's very disappointing as this was my go to back home 🤷‍♂️

Attended just as it was closing. Ordered the sweet and chilli chicken which came with rice. Flavourful and the normal size was plentiful. Lots of options but we’re sold out when I arrived.

I almost tried all the best rated restaurant in Glasgow, and Kokoro was the best of them all. Clean fast and above all it's very delicious. Thanks to Mitra and Nandan for the great service.

Food was amazing and the staff were great but the bathrooms weren't very clean. Toilet paper was meant to be put in a bin, not the toilet and the bin was full when I was last there. Not a pleasant smell.

food is good, service is pretty quick, but they play random high pitched bird sounds alongside calming music, that are just so piercing, and make it almost unbearable to sit in and eat there

food was 30 minutes for 6 pieces of samolm hosomaki

Been here 2 times and both of which had me checking my pulse to make sure I was still alive. I ordered the katsu curry which was 2/10 but I hadn't ate all day so wasn't too fussed at the time. Walking home I had the urge to burp which turned out be pure sunflower (I think) oil and make me vomit the remaining of my stomach lining up. Want to feel you left arm tingle? Order the 'Salmon' or 'sweet chilli chicken' boxes. Enough salt to float a 120kg in a 10L tub Absolutely agonising.

Great value for money. Have to pay 30 p for extra soy sauce but it’s worth it considering the quality you get for the general price you’re paying. Seating upstairs too if you want a calmer atmosphere. Would recommend

The food is amazing! There's different options on sushi you can pick in the fridge area. Many options for hot food, my personal favourite being sweet and chilli chicken, they give quite big portions as a regular size. Only thing is I wish they had a small size option for kids etc. But overall definitely get lunch/dinner here!

I really enjoy the food here. The sushi is incredible and my go to katsu never fails me. However, the staff recently, more so behind the scenes, give a really bad vibe. As far as I'm aware, it's the manager or supervisors. More often than not when I attend, you can hear from the kitchen the manager shouting at staff or scolding who are in the middle of serving customers for some thing that could A) be in private and not make everyone feel uncomfortable and B) not necessary. There's one lady on the front who is always pleasant but other than that, I've experienced some serious attitude. Never toward me but they moaned about me once behind my back and it's not nice to see staff treated that way and is just unprofessional. It puts me off wanting to go. I understand a stressful environment but just be aware of your surroundings.

First rate food and service. Fully recommend you try it. Def veg options alongside meat, but I'm not sure if they conform to vegan standards. Beef bulgogi is a personal favourite.

I was hungry and craving Asian food but was disappointed. My teriyaki chicken was a very salty soy chicken. Nothing Japanese or teriyaki about this at all. Price is cheap but so is the food. I've had similar Asian street food like these and other cities which serves good decent food. This one is not one of the unfortunately. Two streets away was a nice Japanese cafe I visited twice. £2 more but it is a proper decent food. Will walk a little bit further next time.

I was there 15mins ago. I asked for noodles ans she gave me rice while she asked me two times what I wanted and she confirmed that I asked for noodles! This is disappointing.

Whether it's for lunch or evening meal this restaurant is an excellent place if you want to try a new experience. The food is so good and well prepared. The. Staff are friendly and professional and will always be there for your personal service.

They don't serve cups for water & will charge you money for getting there containers deliberately, it's a problem when you are with kids .

I was slightly afraid that the prepackaged sushi boxes would be ok but not amazing, given that they’re fresh but still pre-prepared. I was wrong. The salmon was immensely tasty and generally I loved it a lot. Wow, what a treat! Glad I tried Kokoro. 🍱

Restaurant for fresh sushi quickly. I enjoyed my lunch; prepared well, fresh, and tasty. Not a big variety; best for a quick bite than a sit-down with friends for a big meal.

For me, this is a place to grab a quick lunch and get fresh sushi quickly. They don't have a ton of choices, yet what they have is served fast and is good.

A very underrated Asian food place. They have to go sushi set which not only affordable but very tasty and fresh. If you're in hurry, you can grab the box set and enjoy this quality food on your way. Also, ample selection of ricebowl with very generous portions of everything. My top pick will be the sushi box set, seaweed salad and ricebowls.

Food was tasty, I had spicy pork noodles but just shy of a tenner is too expensive for what you get. Place could have been cleaner too.

The best food I had and I travel from quite afar to order it. The mix&match box is something else (sweet and sour / sweet chilli is a must have) The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended

Ordered Chicken Katsu. Chicken was oily and tasted like fried in used old oil. Curry was average and the whole thing was so dry

An unremarkable sushi and katsu experience. The food was not exactly fresh or tasty - not the cleanest of eating areas either. I’d get a chicken katsu curry from Wetherspoons over this next time - £3~ cheaper, much tastier, fresher (slightly), and would include a drink too.

Very tasty food. Have only ever had the to go boxes of sushi and gyozas but the hot food always smells amazing. There is plenty of seating upstairs and it almost feels tucked away which can be nice. However since it's away from the staff, it can be messy sometimes since people are lazy sods and can't bin their own rubbish.

Any chicken plate is very awful, tried sweet&sour, katsu chicken and all have ended in the bin. Tofu at least have been good. Prawns also okish, but the large bowl is lame when ordering prawns. Very poor quantity.

If there was a minus star I’d give it a few Awful food , always arrives cold. Chicken is often ether over or undercooked Constantly get orders wrong. The service is even worse , rude unhelpful and have no interest in fixing issue that they create simply try and pass the buck to Deliveroo AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

I normally go to Kokoro in Brighton, but since I moved to Gladgow, I have become so disappointed with Kokoro Glasgow. The difference is huge. The portion of meat is way less than in Brighton, and the taste is not even similar.

Sorry the walls, chairs and floor are dirty and they warm up your food with cardboard and plastic in the microwave... come on people!

Very nice, affordable and quick.

Not great - chicken teriyaki more like a stew/casserole than a Japanese/Chinese dish and was also re-heated in a microwave. Noodles very bland. £10 for the bowl and a can of coke. Likely wouldn't return unfortunately - expected more of an authentic Asian experience and got a poor Chinese takeaway meal.

Great place ! Have tried the food in this branch and the Manchester branch and can say the food quality here is better imo... we always pop up multiple times for lunch whenever we're down :)

love the chicken katsu curry, the tofu katsu curry is also great even though I'm not a tofu fan. the sushi is also amazing and I live the doriyaki aswell! highly reccomend coming here for lunch or to eat in the city, me and my girlfriend go often and we like to sit in but sometimes we takeaway and eat on the way to the bus. I've never had a bad meal in kokoro and if I wasnt a fan its because I'm generally a fussy eater but kokoro is a lovely place to eat

Perhaps not the cheapest place but it’s a good one. Had ordered some dumplings and kimchi. (I would have expected the kimchi to be served hot and maybe the server could have suggested rice or something ) . I was in a bit of a rush that day but surprised she didn’t offer rice or anything else to go with kimchi (as it’s just a cabbage on its own) and it was cold. I believe kimchi can be heated and it should be asked upon purchasing how the customer wants that as even in Korea they do it. It’s also a bit pricey.

Delicious, hot, filling food and quick service at a good price. If you get it on deliveroo it's a lot more expensive. I highly recommend the sweet chilli chicken.

First time I tried Katsu, was definitely nice. Nice atmosphere & staff. Cool healthy drinks and options. Definitely would go again but slightly more toward the fast food side for Japanese food 👉

Exceptional food. Sushi of the highest quality and freshly prepared with care. Loads of cooked options for non sushi eaters too which are also excellent. Highly recommended.

A great place with wonderful meals i always seem to go for the katsu curry with rice and some fried chicken gyoza, the staff are always very fast and kind and the prices are good with a large meal costing around 9 pound for a huge portion

Vegetarian food option was touching amd in the same pan as meat which I really didn't like, my girlfriend is vegetarian and this made it pretty unappetising. She ordered the katsu pumpkin with rice. The girl at the front counter shouted to the kitchen to make more pumpkin as they had none. A few minutes later a guy comes out with a silver pan, half is fried shrimp and the other is the fried pumpkin, in the same pan, all touching. And also when the girl was putting katsu sauce in the bowl, the bottom of the ladle touched the food, which, a few seconds before was poured over beef, and the bottom of the ladle touched some of the meat. Not the best experience, I like the food but will not go there with my girl again.

Appalling customer service., outdated and out of touch.Took ages for them to notice I was standing at counter then when I asked what vegan dishes they had the chef snarled 'we don't do vegan' .

The chaishi bowl taste a bit sour and off So I had to throw it away Hopefully it won’t happen next time Called the restaurant to let them know and the staff was very nice and apologetic. Waste £9.xx tho

I've been a couple of times. The katsu curry is delicious. A decent sized portion at a great price. There was no long wait for it to be prepared, even though the place was really busy, including delivery guys. The sushi is excellent, too. The woman who is usually serving is absolutely brilliant. She's really friendly and efficient. Nothing seems to phase her.

I know prepackaged sushi is mediocre, but when I opened the package it smelled way too fishy; I think it was out for too long. Definitely too pricey for what it is. The cucumber roll was good though!

I had salmon (with rice) there and it was unbelievably sweet and I do not recommend it but the regular portion is big for one person and can be shared!

A decent place with variety of options. Our all time favourite is Katsu Curry. Delicious Katsu curry. Price of the dishes are bit on the higher side. We usually order online and our first visit to the restaurant turned out to be a bad experience. We did not receive all the dishes we ordered. After waiting for a while, we enquired. They claimed to have served all the dishes ordered and finally we literally had to show our dining place and bags to prove the fact that we did not get it!!!!! I was really disappointed with this experience.

So impressed with the food here. We stopped by to grab some lunch and I had the teriyaki chicken with noodles. I had the smaller portion but they packed it with a generous amount of meat, I couldn't finish it. My daughter loved it too. Tender meat and so delicious. Cost just over £7. Lovely service. Will definitely come here again.

Love this little lunch spot, reasonably priced. If you get the hot food I would suggest just getting a regular as the portions are massive and jam packed with your meat of choice

Food is lovely but staff weren't the friendliest.

No entry fee, surprisingly serves food which is a nice touch. Has a small, intimate speak easy vibe about it. Asked for a vodka red bull and the staff looked at me confused which was a bit odd. When I’m back from the states will be back!

Why when they send you the wrong food do they simply tell you to request a refund and order again... not much help as the refund takes around 10days.

Love this restaurant, service is efficient and food is very tasty. I have been a customer for years. They increased their prices recently (quite a bit) and they decreased the portion's size (less chicken, more veggies) so is not as good value for money as it used to be. I hope they don't change dramatically, it would be a shame to lose this go-to!

I was a very big fan of KOKORO when the business first opened in Glasgow. Solid 4.5 stars Now almost three years later, after visiting the business for hundreds of times, I am regret to say KOKORO is less appealing to me due to two reasons. Firstly, one minor issue for regulars like myself is that they have very little changes to their menu. While many other people may appreciate its classic dishes, for me having the same thing over and over again is no longer exciting. I would love to see KOKORO brings some changes to the menu seasonally or annually. Poor value for money. When KOKORO just opened, you pay a good price for tasty meal and decent portion. No complaints. In 2022, The rising cost/inflation has driven the price up, I noticed 10% price increase in KOKORO' case which is very understandable and I don't fault them doing so. However, I noticed that hot food portion size is 30-50% less than when the just opened. I can see others have noticed that too. The management really should keep portion size and quality consistent. I still love to dine at KOKORO, but I am currently unhappy where things are heading.
