Koji in Hammersmith and Fulham

Love this restaurant, the sushi is excellent & the quality is very good. Yes, it’s expensive, but sushi should never be cheap. Please can you bring bank the mango daiquiri on the menu too? Crispy spicy tuna is a must & the celeriac salad is also delicious.

Highly overrated, reservation at 9 didn’t get seated until 9:30, shittake mushrooms a disgrace to the recipe, sushi bland. Black cod decent but doesn’t touch Nobu, wouldn’t go back again

Hands down my favourite resto in Fulham, if not one of my faves in London!! Beautifully presented food and they clearly use really top ingredients - it is all so, so tasty. The cocktails are epic too! Atmosphere is cosy and glam at the same time. Koji is easily as good as any top Japanese resto in Mayfair / central - we are really lucky to have a spot like this in SW6.

Koji is one of our favourite local restaurants. . The food is always excellent, especially the fish dishes, excellent quality, amazing presentation . On our last visit we asked for some guidance as to what/how many dishes to order but unfortunately our server was not able to help us. Next time…

Literally could not love this place any more than I do. Favourite restaurant in London and this is not an exaggeration. Gorgeous food, beautiful decor, buzzy, elegant atmosphere, owners always making the effort to stop by and chat with customers. Perfect evening . Lovely room and ambiance , excellent food , exquisitely presented and some deliscious and creative cocktails . Pricey but the quality is so good it’s worth it

Highlights were the aubergine and black cod. Tempura vegetables were a generous portion. Fried chicken was disappointing. Service was a little overbearing- we felt as though we’d hardly finished our plate (& in some cases hadn’t finished) before waitress was taking away.

Love this restaurant. Very expensive for what it is and service was very slow but appreciate its a busy night. Booked for counter and put at bar and when I questioned this I was just told No and sat immediately. One of our appetizers came as the last course. Big wait for drinks and between courses but the food was great and always feel like a special treat given the price so not somewhere you’d go very regularly.

We came here for a small celebration and loved the food. Cocktails were delicious and as I had requested a quiet spot, we were placed in a corner with no loudspeaker.

Lovely staff, very attentive but not intrusive. Great food, really fresh and beautifully presented. Small portions generally so you can choose several dishes. It's not cheap but for a nice time, it's a good choice.

Ambience is great at koji but the food was cold and had to be sent back twice. The rice was initially overcooked and had to be sent back also before receiving a hit and not overcooked bowl. The sushi was very good but the bill was excessive and nothing offered for the cold food and hassle of sending things back three times. Really disappointed. For the same price I’d rather go to Zuma in Knightsbridge.

Very good Japanese food great portions too and good service However the cocktails were very shabby We ordered two negronis at £15 each and the bar lazily put in a large wedge of orange not a sliver it’s the the oil that makes a negroni not orange juice very amateur

Food and service were superb. It is not a place for quiet conversation, great for people watching though. Pricey but top quality justifies.

Had been here a few years ago and had great memories. Was there last night and it is unrecognisable. If my wife hadn't told me it was a Japanese place I would not have been able to tell. Decor is cheap and tasteless, nothing to do with Japan. It honestly felt like being in some cheap pub NOT in London. It was loud, no music, waiters running around...I could go on...Last but not least, it is a rip off! I am prepared to spend money when it is worth it but this felt like a proper robbery especially considering the above.. What a disappointment. Never again!

High quality food, ambience and excellent service

My other half finally took me here after months of saying how great it was.. We sat at the counter watching the chefs prepare the sushi made to order, I couldn’t believe how fresh and delicious the food was! (The tacos were unreal) Not only that, but the service was amazing, the waitress was very attentive to us and was extremely helpful in choosing items with my gluten free diet. There was a great atmosphere and I loved sitting at the counter, it was very romantic !! This was the perfect date night and we will definitely be making this our go to!

Been here a few times now, feel like I’ve got a good grasp for it. The quality of the fish itself is top notch, the toro came with a brush to brush the soy on. The sushi combinations are fantastic. The small plates, it’s all incredible. I had my hesitations going in, a restaurant I hadn’t heard of with ex Nobu connections (and higher prices!), it felt like the backstory lent itself to circumstance than passion and direction but I was very pleasantly surprised. The cocktails are fantastic too. Stick this restaurant on the coast in Malibu and it would be the new hot spot without a doubt. The atmosphere is more cosy evening than lively so bare that in mind. Hidden gem in Parsons Green for sure!

Awesome! So good we'd booked to go back with our family before we'd even left the restaurant. Food was delicious and beautifully presented, great staff and buzzy vibe. So nice to find somewhere like this locally, without having to go into the centre of town.

I think the best Blackened Cod I have had anywhere, great atmosphere and excellent quality food.

Everything was great except we could not hear each other. The music should be more quiet, this will allow people to speak without screaming.

Our first visit to Koji and we were not disappointed. All the staff were so efficient, friendly and helpful and the food was utterly outstanding. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent food, and the staff seem happy for one to order as and when one feelslike more, or more of the same or different. So helpful.

Magnificent meal. The steak tartar was exceptional and the sashimi was of the highest quality and brilliant variety. The toro was the best I have ever had and the wine list was excellent. Atmosphere was electric. A wonderful experience

Some of the best food I have eaten, really superb. And the waiting staff were exceptional - there whenever you needed them but otherwise in the background leaving you to enjoy your evening without constant interruptions asking how everything is - a real pet hate!

Delicious food, excellent presentation, good service

The fillet mignon tacos, prawn gyoza and fried rice balls with tuna were amazing. The service was impeccable. Definitely a favourite of ours and we will be back.

Food was great. I especially love beef tartare and tacos. Bar decoration is pretty. Definitely going back.

Koji is such a fantastic restaurant, a hidden jem in London. The food is terrific and the service is exceptional. One of the best meals I have had in London in a long time!

An excellent Japanese restaurant with a good wine list and a variety of beers including an interesting Japanese craft pale ale. Presentation was perfect.

This place sucks. Tempura batter like I just pulled it out of a freezer. Nigiri rice cold not warm. Waitrose quality fish and wasabi but Mayfair prices without the investment or quality. Terrible in so many ways that I have felt it was necessary to leave a review before I have even paid the bill. Caters for an audience who probably eats at YoSushi and thinks by comparison this is an authentic Japanese place.

Booked Koji for a date night, same day 30/08/23 but when I arrived the restaurant was closed, no notice online at all said it was closed even Google said it was open usual hours somehow it was actually booked for 06/09/23 which I don’t understand how but ok I’ll take partial blame for that, so we unfortunately had to go to eat somewhere else which was fine but I had tried to call the restaurant to cancel my reservation on multiple days & didn’t get no answer so I thought nothing of it (you can book online but can’t cancel online even by text they tell you that) so I was then charged £70 on 10/09/23 for I guess missing my booking? Which also online it says nothing about charges for missing reservations. I find this extremely distasteful considering I had tried multiple times to cancel my reservation, was told online that the restaurant was open when it clearly wasn’t & was somehow forced to book a date I definitely didn’t wish to attend (I still don’t see how as the dates are completely different and would be easily noticeable whilst booking that it was the wrong date) extremely poor online booking service considering and I’d say £70 is a lot just for a reservation (which I had tried to cancel with no success) complete money grab, I’ll take slight blame for booking the wrong date but definitely a terrible service as they gave me no chance to cancel & mislead me saying the restaurant was open on a day it wasn’t which was a waste of time and money as we had come from Streatham just to try Koji

FOOD - I love thé food at Koji and this was my second visit. I’m always excited to have all the sashimi/tataki themed starters and had the Tuna Tataki, Yellowtail and Seabass sashimi aswell as the cold scallops which were all delightful !!! I wish I’d had the scallop skewers but must have missed it and instead had the quail which was lovely and crisp! My date had the prawn tempura, lamb chops and dragon roll sashimi which were all delicious . SERVICE - We arrived 15mins early for our booking and the reception was kind enough to have a table readied for us. They were fairly busy. We were sat at our table for at least 6mins before being asked if we would like any water and drinks. Upon finally ordering our drinks our waitress repeatedly had to go ask at the bar for clarification for example wether they served brandy (why wouldn’t she know?) we also asked for her to recommend a cocktail and she looked lost and went to get someone else to assist. When our drinks did arrive, they put the drinks on another table and came back apologising that those were in fact our drinks . Side note - I went to use the ladies toilet and someone had soiled the floors with faeces, I alerted a member of staff when returning to the restaurant. It’s disappointing that they were unaware of this and it must have been for a while because the smell had spread quite a bit to outside the ladies restrooms. They are a CASHLESS VENUE so if you intent to pay cash bring different sized bills. ATMOSPHERE - I love the feel of this place and having the chefs table on vue of all the standard tables is really nice . Would have been nice to have flamboyant scenes from the kitchen . Also could have been nice to have had the music a little louder if there was any at all , the restaurant was filled with the hum of fellow diners which gives it a casual feel.

Our favourite foods were the octopus carpaccio, the chicken skewer (tsukune) and the 14pcs nigiri was very good. The padron peppers was average. We found the white wine from Portugal delicious as it had lots of flavour. The tables were a bit small in size for 4 people, and were a little too close to other tables. But overall, this restaurant was very good.

Let me start by saying the food here is outrageously good. Third time dining here and was able to dine at the sushi/chef counter (highly recommended) Not only is the food outrageous but the cocktails, beers and wine are all of a ridiculously high quality. We have eaten pretty much everything on the menu now and they’ve all been 10/10 dishes. The torched wagyu, the pork belly and the octopus are amazing and it’s the best blackened cod I’ve ever had. Rock and roll shrimp is banging and they absolutely do not skimp on the portions. Hats off to the front of house team, manager Rob, and the Chefs behind the counter table for their knowledge and hospitality. Celebrated an anniversary last night and it was perfect I think the price point might be considered high by some but for 5 star Japanese food in Fulham you come to expect it. It’s very easy to have a cheap night here but we held back the first time we ate here and regretted it. EAT IT ALL!!

The cocktails were delicious and the array of glasses they were served in were wonderful. The staff are in abundance and the Manager was excellent. The Wagyu beef was wonderful.

Koji is a hidden gem right by Parson’s Green. Food is delicious - notably loved the Pacific Rock Oysters, Miso Black Cod and Nigiri’s. Service is great as well. A little pricy but quality Japanese food is never cheap - and it is reasonable in that context.

Food is average, Sushi in particular quite expensive. Service a bit slow, 2 dishes went missed. Overall we had a fair experience. Location is very nice though.

I am a fussy (and extremely greedy)eater. From quality to Quantity (I loathe mean portions), ambiance, decor (impersonal corporate/samey type interiors with zero personality) and ergonomics(there's nothing worse than back breaking seating)I'm not shy in coming forward in the moment. I've passed Koji so many times over the years, but never been in. So spontaneously screeching to a halt last Saturday night, I decided, much to my partners surprise, to venture in. Every single box above got a platinum star and some. Everything we ordered (and there was lots of it) was quite simply divine, a complete taste explosion. Every aspect of each dish, the recipes,(unpretentious yet unique) the presentation and amount was top notch. This is a place of special touches, no faceless interior muppetry in sight. Lovely generous space with light and moodful spots to choose where you want to sit. Totally attentive yet uncloying staff. We couldn't believe our luck. We had a fantastic evening. There's nothing like the high you get from the combination of a delicious meal, great music (not too loud) and wholly stealable art. As we were leaving a waiter noticed a food stain on my jacket, rushed of and brought me a soda water to remove the offending red splodge. Impressive and unexpected. That sums up our very special night out.

I took my wife to Koji to celebrate our wedding anniversary. In booking it, I confess that I was seduced by gorgeous pictures on the website, I was reassured by the excellent customer reviews, and, above all, I was impressed by the relative resilience of the restaurant in the face of Hammersmith & Fulham’s vile, xenophobic traffic scheme, which does its best to alienate customers and staff, by fining drivers from outside the borough when they cut through the back streets. With those credentials, I thought, it must be good. And it was. Once our food started to arrive and my wife began to taste it, her mood progressively brightened. The salmon taco was delicious; the ceviche was superb; and the rock ‘n’ roll shrimp was everything a signature dish should be. When it came to the main course, she played safe, ordering sea bass and I was adventurous… ordering octopus. We both tried each other’s dishes and after doing so, she commandeered the octopus. Both dishes were exceptionally fresh and beautifully coked. I only wish I could have made a bet with her beforehand that she would eat octopus and like it, because my winnings would have been astronomic! When we got to the desert course, we were both full. However, having pre-arranged for the chef to write Happy Anniversary on the desert plate, I couldn’t not order. So, we went for the one with banana and passion fruit. I’m so pleased we did because it was another spectacular explosion of flavour. On the wine front, we went modest but were still charmed, as the house sauvignon blanc had a beautiful bouquet and a very easy-drinking style. After we left, my wife’s verdict was: “a gastronomic flavour explosion”. Mine… “If you’re going on a date and want to score, this is the place.”

Delicious food, great atmosphere and lovely staff. We found the drinks quite expensive comparatively with most bottles being £60 plus and £24 for a glass of rose. Great food especially the tacos.

It was our first time but definitely not our last. We recommend the tacos, onglet beef skewers and wood fire sea bass. Cocktails were great as well.
