We went in December so expected it to be busy. It was really really busy. However, didn’t phase them, very good food arrived. Reasonably fast service and all dishes out at the same time. Good was delicious and the menu is very varied Staff polite and friendly Small car park at the rear too

Best takeaway Indian food in the Wellingborough area, without doubt! Superb bhajis, beautiful, flavour packed curries and excellent Bombay potatoes.

Family visit for my Dad’s 75th birthday, we arrived to confetti and balloons on the table which was really thoughtful and appreciated and it made the evening feel special, service was attentive but not rushed and the food was fabulous. We had a great evening x

What a great little restaurant, we were visiting and staying in Thrapston and fancied a curry. Staff very friendly and restaurant very clean. Starters were really tasty, prawn purée was yummy !! Chicken tikka masala was one of the best I have had for a while. Chicken really soft and tasty and the garlic naan was also amazing. Would recommend.

Had a very tasty Sunday lunch in a lovely Indian restaurant in Finedon. Staff very polite and friendly. Good car parking to the rear of the restaurant.

Meal out to celebrate a 40 th birthday. Nothing was too much trouble…they even brought a cake with candles for the birthday girl. Fab service fab food fab night out….can’t wait to return. Thank you

Old cricketers love to talk & eat, and last night was a great mix at the Kohinoor in Finedon. I actually live in Finedon, but due to one thing and another, mainly one thing, I haven't been here for around two years. Covid cut our numbers last night but but it was great to see a few old faces. I often think that the poppadums' served can be a good indication of the meal to come. Last night they were fresh, warm and crisp, so I knew what followed would be good. Our organiser pre-ordered (24 hours in advance) our starters, which consisted of, spicy marinated lamb chops and chicken portions on the bone. These were served on sharing plates, garnished in soft onions, and were excellent. It was clear that a lot of time & effort had gone into these and they went down exceptionally well. We all chose different mains from vindaloo to dhansak. I opted for chilli chicken masala which was very good. The fresh green chillies really gave it some heat, which I like. We also ordered a selection of breads and rice dishes to accompany the main meal. The breads in particular were great. Everything was served together and everything was oven hot. The result, a table full of empty paltes and serving dishes, which is always the best sign of a good meal. The staff to were excellent and we were very well looked after in a very busy restaurant. I would highly recommend a visit to the Kohinoor after last nights high quality food and service.

Had a drive over from Rushden and it was worth it. Staff, nice pace and delicious food. Fantastic evening.

We arranged a group visit after a couple of years of absence due to covid. We were given a special rate but we also wanted to support this business which is getting back to normality. Food was delicious, huge portions! There was quite a long wait for the main course after two sets of starters. When it came, it was delicious - hot, copious, refills brought without us having to ask.

We ordered 2x Sunday banquets for a takeaway, this is the first time we have ordered from here and would say it is far superior to other similar restaurants in the area. Large portions and very tasty food. One of the nicest Dhansaks I have had!

Ordered on line and clearly an issue as food was not ready as time specified and then told to be delivered in half hour only to recieve the food an hour later with a free popodom and to be told we would have £5 off next order. Messaged them privately and no response or apology, have been using them since they have been here and will not be using them again. Need to train staff for manners

We have just finished our meal that was delivered on time was still hot and as usual the meal was superb , certainly no complaints cant wait till the Restaurant is open again after lockdown .

Even know with covid the food is excellent and the service is great. Obviously only delivery at the moment but really good nevertheless. Always great with great doorstop deliveries. In conclusion. Really good. Hope it helps.

Always had wonderful meals and service at the Kohinoor. Decided to try their takeaway menu for my wife’s birthday this evening. Easy to order and the meal was delivered within the hour. Everything we had was excellent - prawn purées, chicken Kerala, Rajasthani chicken, rice and a side order and they even threw in papadums etc for us. Thank you very much - we will order again.

Ordering on New Year’s Eve is always going to warrant a delay and I fully expected a long wait - so when the expected hour and a half wait was given - happy days! No problem with that! That hour and a half went by - followed by a further half hour. No contact from the restaurant and they took their phones off the hook for over an hour! So couldn’t get in touch with them. I ring them up after two and a half hours of waiting - an hour over the expected time. The lads speaks to someone who I’m guessing is in charge - ‘another 25 minutes’ so therefore expected arrival 3 hours after order with the lad on the phone claiming ‘some of your food is done it’s on the receipt’ that twenty five minutes goes by! Still no curry! A further twenty minutes goes by, bloke knocks on the door ‘did you ring about the delay’! Not sorry for that I will give you a discount code or anything like that! Simply did you ring!!!! ‘I will remember you and give you something next time’ Open the box curry’s Luke warm and missing items from the order! Heated the starters and curries and they were actually very nice! And for the first time of ordering from them we enjoyed the meal but massive question marks over service when let’s be honest they are not the cheapest around! I am awaiting response on their social media channels on my complaints.

Absolutely disgusting! Food turned up 45 minutes late, when I called as delivery driver couldn’t find address the man over the phone was extremely rude. Was directing the driver to the wrong address. My husband had to drive to meet the driver to get our food. There answer was don’t order from us again. WOULD NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN.

Small portions and oily food. Some bits of tandoori chicken pieces burnt. Rice was old and salad and random bits of veg in biryani.Service was terrible, first turned away then allowed to get table. Waiters ignoring me and slow to respond. Food takes long to arrive.

Came here for a birthday meal as a couple, we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff, full PPE and safety measures in place. Meal was excellent and as it was my first visit I will definitely be returning! Highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Biriyani

Excellent modern decor, very attentive service, and very good food with a nice variety of new and special dishes. The lamb could perhaps be slightly better quality, perhaps it's a more like good mutton than lamb but still fine. Everything else excellent.

So we moved here from Luton, i know a good curry but went here and it was ok, so went back again and it was geat, went last two times and it was like eating soup, not good food, the service is excellent and the wine is good, its a shame as its on my doorstep but hubby wonlt go back, so we go to a great little one in irthingborough on the left as you go in from Aldi side

Normally very happy with the service and quality of food provided here but today my partner ordered a takeaway to be delivered around 11pm because I don’t finish work till then, but it was delivered at about 9:30pm. Also, Just Eat wouldn’t let me review it because I hadn’t ordered which is fair enough, but my partner also can’t leave a review or anything because it still states that it’s being delivered for around 11pm. Google also wouldn’t let me post a review either.

Had a lovely evening here on Saturday, always very friendly and a good atmosphere. Had various dishes from the menu and they were all delicious. Service is excellent and the staff are lovely. Would highly recommend.

Great menu, great service, great atmosphere. Had the most delicious starters and main. It was so hard to decide initially what to have as the menu was so varied. The staff went above and beyond to make our anniversary celebrations very special. The portions were of a good size so we were too full to try the desserts. We had wine with our meal and the final bill was very reasonable. Can’t wait to return.

We booked the restaurant for a family meal which was a special occasion. The staff were very helpful and attentive even though they were really busy. Our food was exceptional and out of 14 people everyone was really happy with their meal.

My wife and i have just enjoyed what we both consider to be the best curry we have had in many years.Earlier in the week my son was staying overnight and quite late at night he ordered a curry for us online that was simply delicious. My wife had gone to bed early so missed the treat.However as we had both enjoyed our Chicken madras so much I promised to buy one for Marina and I on Friday night. We ordered a standard Lam Biriyani, a Chicken Madras (the one earlier in the week was so delicious that I just had to see if it could be repeated}, A Chicken Korai and a Lamb Lahore.The flavours of each were distinct and fresh, fragrant and utterly amazing. I hope that this review encourages people to eat here but I also hope that they remember what has made them such an outstanding restaurant.It is so nice to have found an Indian restaurant worthy of being called our local.

I have ordered a butter chicken masala and two nans via jut eat. I have to say this is the horrible food I had ever eaten in my life. That butter chicken is mixed with sugar, if you are a diabetic patient your count will be up 1000!

My local Indian restaurant never fails to disappoint. Had a great meal over the weekend of veg korma, pilau rice and cheese naan. All was cooked to perfection and service was fast and efficient. It’s definitely the best Indian around this area (and the best one I can personally say that I have ever tried)

Our favourite local curry house went through a dodgy patch so we tried about 10 other places (all poop on a par with Tesco curry ready meals) and then a friend recommended this place...be jeesus, what a revelation! From the outside, it looks a little tatty. Inside though is lovely, immaculate, spotless, the staff are all ace but lets be honest, if you love a good curry, none of that matters, it's all about the food. And wow, the food was on another level! I love nothing more than a top curry where the flavour runs through every mouthful, it's not drowning in oil (there wasn't a single spec of oil on the plate) and where the sauce is thick and well, just flavoursome. Most places you get 5-6 pieces of chicken in a dish, whereas here, you must get 8. And it most definitely wasn't a case of giving you more to compensate for the fact it lacked elsewhere - I literally couldn't fault a single thing! We ate in the first time and I was so happily stuffed, i got a doggy bag with my leftovers. You know you've found a top chef when it tastes even better the next day! When we ordered a take away the next time, it's the only place ever where even though we had a 10 minute drive home, it was still piping hot and just as delicious when we got home. I'm a proper curry head from Manchester, growing up near the curry mile, but I can honestly say this is one of the best I've had. Been a few times now and it's consistent which is key - nowt worse than every time you order a curry wondering if it'll be a good or a bad un...they're always good!!

Went with some friends, wide choice of dishes, spoilt for choice, the cheese nans were wonderful, we mixed our food to include, tandoori chicken, onion baggis, mixed samoes, special fried rice, tandoori salmon, king prawn tandoori, etc etc, wonderful choice of drinks, the most friendly staff, most enjoyable meal, will certainly be going again

Took an hour to receive starters then had to send one back because it was cold took another 40 mins for the main to arrive - fastest part of the meal was receiving the 140.00 bill

Lovely place to celebrate with family. Food excellent and very good choice. Staff very helpful and friendly and very attentive. Car park is very small and fills up if busy, be sure to book at weekends when busy.

We were a party of 5 on a Sunday evening which is Banquet Night, which gives you a choice of a starter, main, side or naan at one fixed price. Very busy so would say book a table. We all had a variety of various starters, mains and rice, Bombay aloo and naan bread. Gernerous portions. The food was very tasty and delicious. Service was excellent and the friendly atmosphere made our night out very enjoyable. Would recommend.

Service was so slow today we sat for almost an hour before eating. Sorry but just not good enough service. I realise you had a large party in but you should accommodate this with your bookings. Will leave a while before going back. Very poor service but good food. Sort yourselves out please

Visisted on Wednesday as a party of 6 - the table was booked but it was extremely busy so had to wait a max 5 minutes - no issue for us - food was served hot and once again excellent standard - my go to Indian in this area

Had our first visit to the Kohinoor recently and it was very good. We had booked a table but on arrival they didn’t seem to bother with the booking details. Pleasantly set out and tables not on top of each other - a positive. We had drinks and these are a tad expensive but acceptable. Both had prawn purée to start and these were plentiful and hot! Chicken Kerala Chilli and Rajasthani Chicken were our chosen main dishes and the portions were very good. Sides and a naan bread made our meal a banquet in effect and everything was of a high standard. We had more drinks and were even offered a complimentary drink to end. We will certainly return as this was a very good meal.

Have visited here a couple of times in the past 2 months and it is now our favourite Indian restaurant. The service is great and the food wonderful with a lovely choice of menu. We will be back soon.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants around, we have know the owner for years and have tried nearly everything on the menu. There is so much variety and the chef is willing to accommodate to our taste. It’s like home to home and we always recommend others to come here. We come to Kohinoor for family parties as well as birthday dinners and they will always have excellent service and make the most tasty dishes that you want to eat everything on the menu. Booked table for 6 on Sunday lunchtime, having no idea that we were going to be offered a set menu for £10.95 of starter, main, side dish plus rice or naan: almost everything on the standard menu included in the special price.

We use this restaurant quite a bit and the food has always been very good. The staff are very friendly and work very hard. We have been with friends and also family including 2 children. We are always treated very well and nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant itself is very clean including the toilets, which is also very important. I can't recommend this restaurant enough if you are in the area try it!

Being local I am a little biased but I have been across Indian restaurants up and down the country. Kohinoor still without fail continues to top the lot. The customer service is second to none and the staff always look smart and presentable and are always very friendly. The restaurant itself is always very clean and the atmosphere cosy yet contemporary. As for the food -- delicious. I often partake in the starter, main, naan, rice or side dish offer for £10.95 for which I will have Mixed Kebab for started, typically a Chicken Kashmiri for main (mild Chicken dish with bananas and lychees) with cheese or peshwari naan and pilau rice. Then I will usually have pints of Cobra beer for drinks. I very rarely make it onto the desserts due to being so full, but quite often I will be offered a complimentary drink at the end. This place really is outstanding and deserves to continue being the highly successful and efficiently run Indian cuisine restaurant that it is. Kohinoor is the best you can get, and long may they remain here in the heart of Finedon. I cannot recommend them enough.

Visited recently with my wife and 2 children. This was a first time visit for us so didn't know what to expect. The sunday lunch offering of £10.95 was fantastic value for money and although the restaurant did not offer a reduced price for children they did allow us to order 3 instead of 4 of the banquet deals. The service was really good, waiters attentive and the wait between courses was not long. Food was fantastic and all of us throgouhly enjoyed it. We will definitely return.

We usually love the food from here that's why we reorder, but were disappointed that quite a lot of our food was missing and still charged for, about £12 worth! Will be thinking hard before ordering from you again!

Having tried this Indian restaurant on a friends recommendation we frequent here whenever possible. Time after time the food is rich in flavour the ambience is wonderful and the staff are second to none in their attentiveness and friendly nature.

Portion size was good, but arrived warm and not hot like most foods willing to expedite them. You can't beat the 'competition' which is the staple of town food. 3/6

Have ordered from many Indian restaurants over the past few years and find myself returning to the Akash each time because of poorly cooked food, too greasy, watery food and the list goes on. The Kohinoor delivered my food Saturday and my verdict is, the Vindaloo was no more spicy than any normal curry i have had, the sauce was very much like it had cam out of a jar and unusual colour. The Chicken tikka pieces were quite tasty, the rice was cooked ok, the naan was okay too, the potato in the curry was still hard also. Overall the Kohinoor was not the worst at all but for the best curry in Northants it will always be The Akash, take away or dining in......................... simply the best.

Food was excellent in taste and hot when deliverd however ordered a garlic naan and received a ordenary one and food was deliverd 30 mins late condiments mainly onion salad was very warm as it was buried in the bottom of the bag with the hot curries not very pleasant warm having said that I would recommend to anybody who appreciates good food tastes as good as eating in the restaurant which cannot be said for a lot of other takeaways so if you want good food eat it from kohinoor and you wont go wrong
