Really, really good food, at affordable prices. It was so good that we didn’t even bother the relatively loud noice from a karaoke bar upstairs

We were so looking forward to our visit but unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. The restaurant is small and drafty with the door always being left open by other guests. Because the tables don' t have tablecloths it doesn't have that warm cosy atmosphere. We ordered starters and mains and asked for a break between both courses. Starters arrived separately so I had eaten mine by the time my husband had his. Whilst we were waiting we ordered 2 cocktails which took literally 30 minutes to arrive. The waitress asked if we were ready for our mains so I asked them if they could be brought out together. Mine came (green curry with Coconut rice) but my husband's duck arrived with no Pineapple rice. He was 80% through his course before the rice then turned up. The restaurant clearly did not have enough staff as the young lady working the bar was clearly under pressure and there was 1 waitress attending to all table. Such a shame that I won't be visiting again considering that 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 cocktails and 2 other drinks came to over £100. Oh well, lessons learned, stick to what you know as I was left completely unimpressed and underwhelmed

Great Thai restaurant with authentic excellent food and fabulous service. We were a party of 4 and had a variety of dishes. Everything was spot on and the staff could not have been more helpful.

Gorgeous food and excellent service. However - I have an allergy to latex and kiwi (and had advised staff beforehand ) - Yet I had a reaction from something in the restaurant after dining. So please make sure you tell staff the intricacies of any allergy - I perhaps was unclear…

Was in Manchester for work and my colleague and I decided we wanted Thai food. Ignoring the recommendations of the hotel reception we decided to try The Nine Thai restaurant based upon the reviews on TA and it’s proximity to the hotel, the opposite side of the road to the Clayton and we did not regret our choice. First thing to mention and it was mentioned in other reviews, do not be put off by appearances from the outside. Head right in and you will find a bright, clean and spacious setting and welcoming staff. We had a house mix platter to start with. The portion size was great, it’s was hot and crispy and tasty. If I was to criticise it was that the vegetable tempura batter was too thick in comparison to others I’ve had. My colleague didn’t mind, think he preferred it like that. For main I had a beef mas-sa-man curry and my colleague had a chicken noodle dish with three chillis, that scared me off but I did taste it and it was nice and he assured me it had a good chilli kick but not over the top. Meanwhile I tucked in to my dish and it was delicious, the best tasting massaman I’ve had although the beef were strips and I was hoping to have some slow cooked tender beef chunks in there. No desserts, just another Asahi to wash it down with. Next time I’m in Manchester wanting Thai food I would definitely return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Chose this restaurant while visiting Manchester, based on trip advisor reviews, and we were not disappointed. Small restaurant, with good service and really excellent food. Don't be put off by the entrance which is really scruffy and shared with the bar upstairs.

Friends choose the mixed sharing platter, not what I would normally order, but actually it was a perfect choice and everyone really enjoyed it all.

We happened upon this small, newly opened restaurant on our first night of a staycation city break in Manchester. It is a lovely, cosy little place with amazing food and delicious prosecco! We had the chicken satay and sesame beef for starters - very well executed and presented. This was followed by red Thai chicken curry with coconut rice and chicken pad khing with egg fried rice. Really moreish - both dishes. Our waiter was attentive and very friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant A+

Went here as my first choice was fully booked, hadn’t been before but menu looked good. So dissapointed, my dad had fish cakes which were clearly frozen and not fresh, I had crispy beef - not crispy and slimy texture. Main my dad had fish jungle curry which he said was average and something he could make at home - when you dine out you expect more. I had Pad Kee Mao with chicken - I asked the waiter to ensure this was only a little spicy as the traditional version is VERY hot, it is also supposed to be made with flat noodles (my fave), the dish came out and was made with Udon Noodles and was so spicy I had to ask for a large glass of water, the waiter noticed and to his credit did ask if I would like the chef to make me another - which I said yes. The new version didn’t have ANY chilli on and hardly any chicken. The only reason I have given 2 stars instead of 1 was the waiters service was very good, but on a busy Saturday night me and my dad were the only 2 people in there all evening! This says a lot! Please don’t waste your money here and go to try Thai down the road - worth booking in advance.

Having only opened a couple of weeks ago, the decor is very clean and bright. The food was very good. I dined early evening midweek and was the only customer at the time so the waiter and I spent time chatting. It was a very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours and if I find myself back in Manchester in the future, I would have no hesitation going there again. If you are in the City centre and want a reasonably priced Thai meal, be sure to give it a try.

The old mill on Redhill street is beautifully refurbished and Ancoats Coffee Co held such promise with glass doors , indoor and outdoor dining space, twinkling fairy lights I chose outside in the lovely Mancunian sunshine to enjoy my cake and fresh orange drink, unfortunately this is where things start to go down hill, firstly cash is not accepted in this establishment, plastic is king, my cake looked like an appealing Madeira on its plate, I think it would have given the lovely refurbished bricks a run for their money, hard is too soft a word but not as hard as the seating, I think I am well padded in the posterior but These chairs WOW they were made of a galvanised material so to be expected but couldn’t you have invested in something soft to sit on ! Located just away from the northern Quarter on great ancoats Street this is a pub we have been using for decades and we always have a great time there. The place is full of history and it is worth a visit just to look at the ceiling alone believe it or not! This particular visit was on a sunny Thursday and the place was busy both inside and out but they still had loads of tables available. They have a fabulous range of drinks at reasonable prices and this is so varied there is definitely something for everyone. Another good thing was they always have loads of stuff on so you get served quickly and in a friendly manner. It was great to sit out in the Sun and enjoy a beer or two whilst watching the busy streets around you at the same time.

Nice relaxed space. Great cuts of steak, fresh and flavourful sauces, crisp hot fries, nice wine and cocktails. Brilliant gluten free options. And all very reasonably priced - steak, chips, sauce, and a glass of wine gave me change from £20! Well worth a casual lunch trip.
