Knight’s Independent Coffee House in Birmingham

Excelentes sandwiches de café para morirse. Pareja muy limpia y ordenada y amable que posee el establecimiento. Aunque estaban muy ocupados todavía encontró tiempo para hablar con nosotros y agradeció por nuestra costumbre Cuando nos íbamos.

Recientemente descubrimos este maravilloso lugar y sin duda nos hemos estado perdiendo! En nuestra segunda visita aquí, los propietarios que son personas encantadoras, amables y no pueden hacer lo suficiente por usted, nos recordaron de nuestra primera visita. Mi marido está inmunosuprimido así que nos gusta un buen lugar aislado para sentarnos y comer. Al igual que en nuestra visita anterior, la señora nos llevó a la parte trasera del café y cerró la zona a otros clientes, había un montón de espacio en el resto del café para que otros clientes se sentaran para que nadie se lo perdiera. La comida es preciosa, fresca y es muy buena relación calidad-precio. En este establecimiento el cliente es definitivamente Rey (y Reina). Gracias por el increíble servicio al cliente.

Al entrar en la cafetería Knights, me detuvieron por el letrero de la puerta principal, sin cochecitos, sin niños, pero solo quería un café a primera hora de la mañana, así que seguí adelante. Eran las 7. 45 am y yo estaba con mi hermano, pedí un café y un té , estábamos en el centro de la ciudad para asistir a una prueba de salud y seguridad local, mi hermano abrió su teléfono para obtener alguna revisión de última hora, e inmediatamente se le dijo que lo apagara como la gente tiene reuniones allí ? ? ? ? ¡Sólo había otro cliente ahí y el teléfono estaba tranquilo! 2 adultos adultos hablaron demasiado como niños, nunca he estado en ningún establecimiento y me sorprendió así la falta de servicio al cliente, si no puedes tener volumen en tu teléfono , cómo realizan las reuniones ahí dentro , después de ver otras reseñas puedo ver que los propietarios necesitan ser un poco más receptivos a las críticas constructivas, ya que esto solo puede mejorar tu negocio, el negocio real se ve muy bien , solo una pena que los propietarios hayan olvidado que somos los clientes que los mantienen en marcha , la otra cosa que noté fue que los baños estaban cerrados debido a una llamada fuga 🤔no estoy seguro de que los creyera como mirado a través de otras reseñas y noté el mismo problema , por favor tome esto como retroalimentación constructiva, haga que su negocio funcione y disfrútelo y a sus clientes, sé que esto desencadenará una respuesta agresiva lo cual puedo garantizar que no es cierto

Had a Great breakfast. The brown bread toast topped it off. never falls to please. Price is very reasonable. Place is lovely and clean.

I can only write as I find, and my experience here was very good. A pleasant welcome from one of the owners, quick service, fair prices and lots more space than is apparent from the road. Nice cappuccino and a generous portion of tasty red velvet cake. Best of all, it's actually *quiet*, a rare thing so close to the city centre these days. It's true that they ban outside food and people blasting out the whole place with their phone speakers... but that's a good thing in my book; surely it's not too much to ask to be respectful to others, whether fellow customers or the owners. I rarely visit this part of Birmingham, but at some point I hope to be back here to support this independent oasis.

This lovely place is just around the corner from where I work. They do a DELICIOUS ham and cheese toastie that I drop in for when I have time, or am having a bad day. I’m pretty squeamish with ham generally when bought in a product already made, and usually have to pick loads out, but every mouthful of the gammon ham that they use is quality and tasty. I work from home a lot but honestly would travel into Birmingham just for one of these! I also have to say that I LOVE the fact that it’s a quiet sanctuary with no speakerphone conversations and no screaming kids. It takes a bold cafe owner to take this step but, for me, it’s an added and very welcome bonus. Parents can be so inconsiderate at times. It’s about time someone took a stand for those of us adults who just want a quiet minute or two away from the noise of life. I’ve been in quite a few times now and have never found either of the owners to be anything but very friendly and accommodating, providing fast service and quality food. If anyone else feels differently, they should maybe check their own manners and behaviour and remember that cafe/restaurant/serving staff deserve to be treated with respect as the customer isn’t always right. I visited during covid for coffee a few times and found this place largely empty, so I’m very pleased to see that they’ve survived and seek to maintain such high standards to offer an alternative to the noisy chains. Thank you for being a hidden gem, right on my patch!

It is really nice to find an independent coffee house like this. we stopped off from our hotel on the way to Snow Hill station. The quality of the breakfasts and drink were great and well worth the price we paid. Recommended and we will return.

Love this place, my Dad and I visit regularly when we meet up. It's run by a friendly couple, food is hand made (the cakes are especially fantastic), sandwiches are yummy and great coffee. Highly recommend.

Wanted a nice break to enjoy a hot chocolate, me and my partner came in and was told we’d have to buy 2 drinks minimum if we both wanted to sit in? The way the staff told me was as if to guilt me into spending more money. I wasn’t after a drink just my partner and then I was immediately told “how can we pay our bills, we’re independent, you must buy two” Cool, i bought the two drinks and we sat down. We had to move to the front as where we sat was off limits though there was no sign. Then there was an incident where there was audio coming off my phone after i was viewing a video and realised the volume was a little loud and proceeded to lower it. Before being able to adjust i was shouted to “turn off your speaker pls” in an aggressive tone. There’s no need for the staff to be so rude. You work in hospitality, you’re a human, it’s nice to be nice. This seems to be a shared experience with whoever visit so i have no clue why they haven’t tried to implement it. Also i just know the business will reply with a long rude message as they’ve done previously. But they need to put the energy into working on their hospitality. there’s even signs in the cafe in rude tones, guilt tripping to spend more money

I have visited this cafe a few times in the past couple of months. Hubby has taken his theory test quite a few times and every time I've accompanied him I used this cafe whilst waiting. However today I had my little one with me. I opened the door and lady in the mask greeted me with no pushchairs or prams. There was a sign on the door but I missed it. Ok fair enough, as I was taking my child out the pushchair she opened the door and said sorry they haven't got the space for a pushchair I said it fine don't worry I'll leave it outside, to which she replied they haven't the facilities for children 'no high chairs' she's three she doesn't require one. I did say she doesn't need one, she then said would she sit still which I said I don't know. She then said sorry I can't enter. It's a cafe not a five star restaurant! Never in adult life have I been turned away from an establishment because I've had a child with me. I've got five children and we are all well travelled but never had this ever happened. I'm hoping it wasn't to with the colour of my skin or the fact my hair was covered. To the owners it was a freezing January afternoon and you turned us away because of my child. Well my husband passed his theory today so won't be visiting that part town anytime soon, we did find another establishment where we sat had a hot drink and my daughter did behave.

We visited as a party of 6 and on entering the establishment was informed that we couldn’t sit together ( despite the restaurant being practically empty ) . The waitress shouted from one end of the restaurant to shut the door ( that a colleague was at the time half way through ) . We duly ordered in an environment akin to that of a police interrogation . It’s a shame that such a lovely little cafe is spoilt by the staff , and more so it’s a shame that paying customers ruined the miserable frosty staff members morning by asking for food ??

Peaceful and relaxing place (with no music). Good portion size and great value with friendly service in comfortable chairs.

I never write reviews but after my visit this morning, I have to do this low rating as I have never been to such a aggressive place in my life . Both the lady and the man are aggressive and horrible. Please stay away from this place !!!!!! We just went to grab a coffee to go , the place was empty . My coffee was very very sweet and because my husband asked for sugar in his coffee, I just went to ask politely if she added sugar by mistake on my coffee instead. Omg they both the woman and men start screaming and shouting at me , I honestly couldn’t understand why ? The man left the counter and came across and start shouting in a aggressive manner towards both of us , I have never experienced such an aggressive owners in my life . My coffee was very sugary so yes she did added sugar , so just apologise and be nice to your customers . Please stay away from this disgusting horrible place as they don’t deserve the business!!!!

I have never left a review for anything before however after reading the reviews for this restaurant and realising that others had experienced similar hostility I felt it was necessary to leave one. The staff seem to have a mistrust in their customers. An attitude where if you're not spending what we wish you're not welcome. Very rude staff who wouldn't allow me to use the facilities before ordering. I had every intention of buying my breakfast whilst I waited for my son to come out of the driving test centre (I had time to kill and had eaten nothing by 10am). The lady was blunt and said order first but I hadn't had chance to look at the menu and needed the loo quite desperately. I did protest but not in an aggressive Mannerr (more confused to be honest) the guy came from the back and told me to leave or he'd call the police 😳. Never been treated so poorly in an establishment and for the record never had anybody say they'd call the police on me before 🤣. Don't deserve your business avoid like the other customers have already advised.

Fancied a change from the usual chains; had a lovely veggie breakfast and chai latter. Very quiet when I went but surroundings were pleasant and staff were helpful. I’d come more often if there were more vegan alternatives

Attracted by the sunshine on some outside tables and chairs, we went inside and found a calm, clean, spacious area with corners and alcoves perfect for conversation. Excellent coffee and superior sausages supported a five star review.

Rude guy behind the counter made for a very unpleasant experience. Arrogant and petty. He seems a little paranoid. Needs a customer care course or ten

Lovely coffee house on Newhall st, Birmingham. Very pleasant surroundings...Great coffee, we had a latte and a mocha....reasonable prices too, quick service. Highly recommended when in the area.

Been nipping into Knights for a few months now when at work in the City Centre and its brilliant. Forget Costa, Starbucks etc and head to this place. Lovely coffee and great sandwiches 👍
