Hands down best Indian in Bristol.

Absolutely the best breakfast in south bristol. Every time I eat here the food is second to none and very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit. Also lovely people working there 👏

Masala Dosa is my favourite south Indian snack. It was served beautifully and is nicely spiced. The Dosa is done really well.

The most authentic South Indian/Sri Lanken restaurant we have been to in Bristol. The dosas are huge and tasty. Mutton curry and cauliflower side dish were exceptional. Had a mango lassi to top it all off which was great. Can’t wait to try other dishes on the menu. Will be going back very soon.

Good: tasty food, affordable Bad: dirty tablecloths, poor service (when we came nobody was there and we needed to call the server from the kitchen), a few items weren't available. Extra point for a crispy chilli paneer, really really good dish

Great Sri Lankan food, great staff.

The most authentic southern Indian food I've had in the UK. This is nothing like the fusionised, dumbed down versions of the dishes served by the popular places on Gloucester Road that claim to be as such in, but full on authentic southern Indian spicing and flavours (read: liberally spicy). Having grown up in Malaysia eating lots of southern Indian food (especially Tamil food), this was a delightful find to have so near me and that I visit almost weekly. The dosas are awesome (mutton or masala potato are my go tos for lunch) and the seafood kotthu is both yummy and a huge portion. Fish cutlet and vadais are also very authentically southern indian and delicious for smaller snacks/starters. Drinks I usually have a masala chai or an indian brew coffee. I have yet to visit for a full on dinner, but I'm sure it'll be just as fantastic when I do. They also operate as a greasy spoon cafe but I'm there for the Indian food (if you haven't already realised).

Tea was luke warm cook had a terrible cough should not have been at work food quality was ok

Amazing food - really authentic south Indian cooking that is great value for money. We visited for Tamil new year when they were doing a thali special.

Back again after a delicious masala dosa and this time had mutton biryani which was also excellent. Am already planning a third visit and will try the mutton curry with roti I think.

Cracking Indian cafe. Does a nice English breakfast also. But the Masala Dosa is the reason I go.

I had very nice biriyani. If you want to have Tamil style biriyani have this one. And I think they have all variety pf south indian food on menu. And they have very professional and polite staff.

The curry was delicious and I admire the hard working and talented chefs. Count your change if the young lady serves you though. £9 curry, paid with a £20 note, given £1 in change. Accident? It's the oldest trick in the book. What a shame

I shared a masala dosa, some rice noodle dish with anchovies, a paratha and okra curry. With a masala chai and mango lassi to drink. Everything was so tasty, especially the paratha and okra curry - I’d come back for just those two alone!

The evening Sri Lanka food is amazing, can't say much about breakfast. Aubergine curry, mutton kothu, mutton biryani, okra curry mmmm. Seriously good. Don't expect a fancy restaurant with all the drinks and frills you're used to, just expect delicious food!

Love this place. Much better Sri Lankan food than available anywhere else in Bristol. Tried lots of dishes and literally every one is delicious! Could do with a rebrand and I've no idea what the english breakfast food is like, but could happily eat here all the time.

Lovely waitress very friendly. We all had omelettes they were delicious, not at all greasy and had plenty of filling. Decor is basic and clean. Service was fast.

Delicious, beautiful Sri Lankan food enjoyed. The Dosa’s are as deliciously flavoured as any Dosa I’ve had. A rich, tasty chicken curry too. Our parotta bread was also a wonderful texture and a lovely, delicate flavour. Warm staff, polite service. Lovely relaxed atmosphere being enjoyed by 3 different generations on a different table - happy days all round. Who needs Gloucester Road when South Bristol has this!

I think £8 for a large breakfast is reasonable. But this is one to avoid if you want a decent fry up. The eggs were cold, the mushrooms were anaemic and almost everything on the plate was overcooked. Even the brown sauce on offer was cheep and watery. The table cloth was stained the service was the bare minimum.

The signage has changed. And they could do with re posting of new signage. It looks much nicer than the old Knife and Fork sign.. What a lovely English breakfast. Everything was hot, fresh and tasty. Sausages weren't the best I've had, but they were lovely 😋. We'll be back to try the rest of the menu... Looks gorgeous. On our doorstep too..

Ordered through Uber eats and first time ordering from here. Food was awful, paneer butter masala was just paneer pieces in a watery liquid. Gobi Manchurian was just coloured Gobi pieces mixed with onions and peppers. Ordered medu wada but received only one. Overall really bad food and won't be ordering again

I LOVE the Indian breakfast here. It's right near Parson St School and not far from Marksbury Road Surgery, so quite convenient. The staff are friendly, the toilet is spotless, they have a full-marks food hygeine rating. They serve a standard English fry-up, which seems very popular with builders. But I encourage everyone to try the masala dhosa breakfast and a masala chai as a particularly delicious alternative to the fry-up. A real treat any time of day!

Fantastic and authentic South Indian food. Very reasonably priced. The dosas and utthapam had the perfect tang and the sambaar and chutney were perfectly spiced. Highly recommend this place. Note: The venue feels like a canteen but that’s not a bad thing.

I had Mutton Spring Roll, Egg Roti and Chicken Devil today at the restaurant. Mutton Roll is my regular at the place and I tried Egg Roti for the first time. The Egg Roti was a totally different dish and would recommend it to anyone who would like to try something different from normal parathas

Such good authentic south Indian/ Sri lankan food I really enjoyed eating here. Mango lassie, dosa, vada, mutton kothu was all delicious and just as I've had it in India and srilanka. The vada were some of the best I've ever had, fluffy and crispy. They even do some typical English cafe food, which though unusual given the Indian food on offer was perfect because it meant our 5yo could have a bacon roll! Thanks for a tasty meal, we'll definitely be coming back

A great restaurant with all type of cuisine. We tried the South Indian dishes like Chicken Kothu, SeaFish Kothu, Masala Dosa and urdudal vada with chutney. All were proper authentic dishes and very tasty. It is a must try restaurant for all type of food. Really loved it and will revisit for sure to try other dishes.

I am very happy to know this cafe where i always eanted indian breakfast. So far the only shop that opens and serves both Indian and english breakfast early morning @7:30am. Masala dosa 9 on 10 Poratta 9 on 10 Egg roti 8.5 on 10 Paneer curry 8 on 10 Fish fry 9 on 10 Masala dosa was served with sambar and fresh chutney which was refreshing. Masala was my favourite part with authentic flavours and great quantity for reasonable price. Tried their poratta and egg roti where the doughs were prepared there itself and could taste the difference. Paneer curry was good combination with paratta. Masala tea and milk tea were heart filling💞 At last we tried their king fish fry which gave us a homely feeling with no extra or over marination. If i say you ll know. It was naadan style dine in❤️

We were a group of 7 friends and family including a couple recently back from south India and a Sri Lankan. The food was completely authentic, prepared as it was by a Sri Lankan chef and Surinder, the Indian chef, and was very reasonably priced. It was fabulous to find a delicious masala dosa so close to home! If you want to dine in, give gem a ring as space is limited.

Excellent South Indian / Sri Lankan food. We had dosa, chilli paneer, lamb curry and seafood noodles - all delicious, very hot, quick service. The staff are so friendly - even offering free ice cream and mango lassi! It’s fairly basic inside but very clean and excellent value. Highly recommend 😄

I can only share my experience about the evening meal/Sri Lankian cuisine. Outstanding food at a very hard to beat price. So far I've not had a meal I haven't enjoyed. Vegan options available but limited (although you don't need to try anything else other than the Gobi Manchurian). Have attended as just 2 of us and 11 and they were able to accomodate all easily Service can be a touch slow and the decor is a cafe rather than resturant

I've eaten here twice now and both times haven't been able to finish my food due to spice levels. Just whole chunks of chillies in everything. Good dosas and cooking but NO labelling on how spicy something is.
