maybe an off day or new staff? Coffee completely undrinkable, I’m not a diva but this was truly horrid- surely coffee isn’t so difficult to do? Tables sticky, horrible smell of sewage. Truly the worst cafe experience. All I wanted was to come in out of the rain!!

Popped in for tea and cake, but the curried parsnip soup piqued my curiosity! Other half fish a finger sandwich - both were excellent …and the cakes were exceptional. Tea snd latte were very good too. Friendly and efficient staff made us feel very welcome. Would definitely .

Went here with friends while on holiday in Pickering. Food is all made fresh to order and delicious with a good choice. Staff very friendly and helpful. Can recommend the breakfast menu lots to choose from and all delicious. Will definitely return to try their home made scones and croissants. Do not pass this cafe / old bank building which has been put to excellent use.

Different from the Costas and a lot of eateries. Small menu but food was geared to healthier options and was delicious. Great range of gluten free cakes which is unusual, and appreciated- also very tasty. Staff friendly and helpful, would happily visit again.

Visited here Sunday 16th July 2023 just for a drink. Thought we would try an independent cafe for a change to Costa and wish we hadnt. Wasnt busy and got a seat ok. Asked for large and told only do 1 size. When it arrived was in a small glass, the coffee wasnt too bad but the quantity was disgusting and for £3. 20 each was a rip off. would not recommend at all.

Popped in for a light breakfast today. Mushrooms with cream cheese & herbs on toasted sourdough absolutely hit the spot!

This is a Fabulous little café in a former bank building, complete with strong room. Lovely welcome on entry. Really good choice available for Gluten Free diets. Beautiful homemade scones served with butter and jam. We all had tea and it was lovely loose leaf tea. Highly recommend this place the food is all home made the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is chilled and relaxed. The premises are clean. If in Pickering this is the place to go around the corner and slightly up the hill from the steam train station.

What a superb café this place is. It was fabulous for our 4 dogs to be so welcomed and so accommodated from start to finish. The food on the menu looked fabulous and so tasty and mouth watering. We only had a drinks, but even that was lovely and tasty and well worth a visit. Prices on the menu were good, not enough to make a dint in your wallet and so reasonable. We will definitely be back and hopefully get some food next time as like I say, it looked and smelt heaven!

Lovely place for lunch or just a hot drink and cake in Pickering. Fantastic for gluten free! I had a great sandwich (lovely gf bread!) and their selection of cakes was wonderful - I can recommend the Bakewell slice and chocolate caramel brownie. Their dark hot chocolate is delicious but they have all the usual teas and coffees on the menu. And the staff are friendly too.

This is a nice find in Pickering. The coffee is 'artisan', all made individually to ensure a great taste. Lovely home baking and some really delicious salads. I'm a real fan of coffee shops which stay open for longer, like this one, so there is something open for tourists in the late afternoon.

Simple coffee stop, with a cheese scone. Coffee could have been hotter, but acceptable. Very good cheese scone with a home made chutney. Value for money. The sevice was slow, the best suggestion I could make would be give the waitress a tray, or train...

This is an excellent coffee shop, good food at moderate prices. The cakes and bakes are mouth watering, and the creamed mushrooms delicious. It is a pleasure to be served by the polite young man, who is attentive and a credit to the establishment.

There are some really good coffee shops in Pickering. Klarnein is my favourite. A converted bank it’s quite utilitarian internally, but that affords space to sit with your pampered pooches and human family alike. The welcome and menu are warm and high quality. My Dad...

We went into Klarneins just after 3pm on a weekday afternoon, hoping to have a late snack /lunch. We had already gone into a coffee shop further up the street to be told that they weren't doing any food , as they closed at 4pm!...

Decent choice of food available however we ordered pie mash Mushy peas and gravy. Only had 1 pie (so got a pasty as there was 2 of us) Mash was made from a jacket potato it was very lumpy tinned peas over blasted in the microwave served with a smile however forgot the gravy and it arrived half way through us eating the meal. Sadly this place could be a little gold mine if run correctly and proper attention to detail applied with the food. We hafmd our lunch at 12.15 so there was no way they could have ran out of mash? Could do better really

Booked the brewery tour package from Red Letter days. The tour was very informative with Josh being a fountain of knowledge and obviously loving brewing and beer. His witty remarks and low key humour really made the tour enjoyable. The beer tasting in the bar was flexible and offered a pint taken eith as a pint, two halves or a flight of 3, third pints to enable a range to be tried! Although a small brewery they have some quite advanced mechanisation for bottling, canning and casking! Very impressed,

A lovely friendly bakery, just one wee table to sit and and have a coffee and observe the comings and goings of the regulars, the holiday makers and day trippers. Bread and cakes wonderful, a lovely lady owns this place and I wish her well!
