This was a wonderfully enjoyable experience. Lots of cats around all rescue and you contributed to their aid by visiting. I feel that kids should be told that they cannot chase cats, there was a lot of this going on and nothing was being done. One cat, popcorn, came over and just jumped onto my lap and fell asleep there for 45 minutes. I am a bit of a cat magnet for some reason so this was not strange. It was a wonderful day. Would revisit for sure.

It was an exceptionally positive experience. I had the pleasure of visiting the establishment twice within a two-and-a-half-week period in Nottingham. The staff members displayed remarkable friendliness and warmth in their interactions with us. The feline companions were universally charming and endearing, actively seeking our attention and affection.☺️🐱

ANIMAL WELFARE NIGHTMARE This should not be a place that welcomes children - saw an unbelievable amount of misbehaving children running, grabbing cats, chasing them behind furniture. If you as a parent cannot stay with your child and make them aware of how to treat a cat, you should be removed. I'm surprised staff weren't telling them off for not following the rules. The £8 welfare fee charge per person seems ridiculous when it turns out that some of the cats have been abused in their past and are now surrounded by loud children grabbing and scaring them. You can visibly see the stress that some of them experience. I was also surprised by the level of grown adults feeding and harassing cats by wiggling toys directly into their heads when they are sleeping and trying to clearly avoid human contact, something that should also be monitored by staff in an environment like this. It seems so backwards that THIS is a 'rehab and rescue' centre when only one of them is up for adoption. I understand some cats have behavioural and health issues but if they do, they should not be in this kind of environment!!! Abused cats should not be placed with children. Easy as. Ironic as well that the two purebred Persians are not available for adoption and when one of them came out, got instantly scared and hid away again whilst the other then hid behind a sofa. The staff were lovely and very helpful however this just does not seem ethical at all and it makes me worry a lot about the cats inside. I may sound uneducated but the rules should be strictly followed and if cats have negatived pasts, why are they placed in an environment like this? I follow many rescues and many cats descriptions require no children and quiet environments. Something here just doesn't add up. I appreciate the honesty from the staff about stuff and I understand as a worker there you can only do so much but something needs to change here. Why have rules if you let people constantly break them? If a cat was to lash back at someones child I bet the parents would try and make out as if their child didn't do anything wrong... Please re assess your rules....

I'm visiting cat cafes with my partner for our birthday. So far this has been the worst one! We felt so bad for the cats the rules were not followed :( so many people and kids usually there is a limit of how many people can enter but not in this one the kids were chasing the cats around all the cats were hiding staff and parents did nothing to control the children cats are not toys but were treated like it we felt so bad and uncomfortable this is the first cat cafe we will not return to! Staff were friendly and food was ok but the cats had clear signs on distress:((

the interior is lovely, the food is to be expected for the price, but the cats seem trapped and don’t want to be there. there is one sat facing a wall in a corner, maybe 10 on the floor, and the rest are literally hiding. as a cat lover, my heart is a little bit broken :( the fee to get in is reasonable as it is a rescue service, and i can’t really think of a better way to make money for rescues, but my friend and I left early and sad

Cats roaming free along cleverly set up shelves & tunnels. Rigorously cared for by staff..rules given out on entry, all very sensible. My granddaughter loved wandering around and meeting the cats. There's a scheduled treat time when you can feed treats to the cats, again, thoroughly enjoyed by the kids ( and adults!) your table is booked for one hour and it was hard to get gdaughter away!

The vegan chocolate brownie and halloumi wrap which I had were very nice. The building has two main rooms which you can freely walk between just have to make sure to protect your food and drinks with the covers they provide so cats do not eat anything they are not meant to.

So my son went to the kitty cafe Saturday and we paid £60 for the party package which included a birthday cake which is sold separately at £35. We received a £10 shop-bought flake cake that looked like someone had scraped all the toppings off with a knife. I asked for a box to take the rest home in which I was told they would have to ask the manager. Followed by alot of whispering the lady actually gave me the flake cake box saying "this is one it came out of" Shocking. This is an absolute rip off if I wanted a shop brought cake I could of brought my own. The first picture is the advertised cake. On the day I was told to email their admin team in which she will inform them to expect an email from me. No reply as of yet and no resolution. So I have decided to take further action. Update : August 2024 customer service has been terrible ignored consistently on facebook messenger and emails. Son heartbroken as this was his favourite place to go.

Such a disappointing visit. I took my grandchildren as a summer holiday treat. The £20 charge to just enter the cafe should have been advertised as an admission charge not a welfare charge. The cafe was cold and we had to request a change of table. The cats were uninterested ( understandably) unless food was involved. The food was good. The service was good. The toilets were appalling!! They stank of urine and were dirty with a broken soap dispenser. Awful to have to take my grandchildren there. Overall a very expensive experience which I will not repeat.

Good atmosphere. Food was great. Service was incredible, they came with a pay machine to the table so it was very efficient. Car park very close but can be hard to see. Added image at the end to show what it looks like. The only thing was the cat welfare fee. We came as a group of 3 people and surprised to find out it’s £8 PER person. It does say on the website when making the reservation but in the block of text I didn’t read it. There was no issue paying it but it seems quite steep. I would’ve thought it would be £8 per group. If I lived a bit closer I would be put off with the fee unless I went on my own. But since it was a day out it was fine to pay as a one off experience.

Only downside is having to listen to younger children constantly chasing after the cats, which run away most of the time, and the parents not doing anything about their children breaking the rules.

Was really looking forward to visiting as we were staying in the hotel around the corner from the cafe and passed it while on our way to our hotel. £8 each for adults which I didn't mind, only ordered drinks as we weren't hungry. It was an extremely hot day and it was nice to go into the air conditioned venue but after 5 mins it was just too cold (take a cardigan!) There were plenty of cats/kittens but the majority seemed skittish and didn't seem to like being touched and wanted to hide away.......they seemed to be so "over the attention" from customers!! 🤣 You'd be better off saving your money and just stand outside looking in the windows as that's where the furry friends all tend to flock! Toilets were slightly unpleasant and the smell of urine (not cats!) was a bit strong.

The donation was not optional and was £8 PER PERSON. They shoved us in the corner where there were no cats anywhere even in sight so my table has basically paid 8£ per person to be in the room. the service took over 15 minutes to even come over to us to ask us if we wanted to order anything which by that point I was just ready to leave because the experience was so poor. Overall I was extremely dissatisfied with this place and wouldn’t recommend to anyone other than cat lovers who will chase the cats around the pet them on the floor. Once the service came to us they made us pay BEFORE receiving what we ordered which is extremely bazaar. That’s not something that any place should do, especially a place that has already charged me a “donation” just to enter the place. Highly recommend changing everything about this place. Terrible experience.

Its a wonderful place for cat lovers with a normal price at 6 to 8 £ to enter you’ll see cats everywhere. There are total of 22 cats the rules are reasonable. Including things like do not disturb the cat who are sleeping and do not pick up cats, ofc there are a few rules. The staff is very wonderful and friendly, helping you when you have problem. They also respect the cats by giving them clean and new toys every few weeks (I think) and lowering the volume of the song to not disturb the cats. It is a beautiful place after all but only bad side is the customers not being careful and some of them not following the rules.

I visited the Nottingham branch and I was quite disappointed. Firstly, you are greeted with a fee of £8 to enter! I was never made aware of this fee when I called to book, I accept it is a rescue centre but to be told about this beforehand would have been good! The Kitty Cafe gets away with being a poor-quality cafe due to the cats that reside there (not very many to be honest) and the business would greatly benefit from providing customers with higher quality food and drinks - even just making their own coffees rather than just pressing a button on a machine! Shame, it could have been so much better!

It's just not worth it. I paid £22 quid just to get through the door. Okay, I don't mind paying for the up keep of some cats, though I thought it was a little steep. Ordered food, another £45 quid and boy was it bad!! Afternoon tea... I've had many of these and they're normally around the £25 mark for two, so this one was right on the button. However... Was given two options for sandwiches, selected ham and cheese one and a chicken one. Didn't get the chicken one, but eight little triangles of ham and some cheese spread... Sorry, what?!? Bread was half stale, the scones looked past it. The only good thing on the thing was the cake! And it was tiny! It was like someone had attempted, and gave up after a minute of trying. Daughters food didn't come out. Asked where it was and the lady who had taken our order looked at me like I had grown another head. It has been left, waiting, and she has forgotten. So what was meant to be hot, came out pretty much cold!! Ordered two hot drinks... One hazelnut, one normal coffee. Normal coffee didn't really taste of anything and the other was just basically hot sugar. Daughter had a milkshake, wasn't bad, but not amazing either. Considering you have to pay a fee to get in, I expected the food to be somewhat decent.... Yeah, it wasn't and spoons down the road sell nicer food for less price. Giving it 2 stars for the cats and the friendly staff, even though mine forgot half our order

I want to start this review by stating we've been here before a few years ago, and it was wonderful, the best cat cafe experience we've had. We've since been to cat cafe's all over the uk and some are better than others, but none were as great as our first time here. Unfortunately our most recent visit was the worst experience we've ever had out of all cat cafes. We arrived after booking tea for 2 online, but was just told to pay for the 1 hour each on arrival, had to find a staff member to tell them we booked the tea for 2, then paid more to get what we planned. As soon as we entered we were greeted with horrifically screaming children running around the building and terrified cats hiding, being chased, and shivering from fear. It didn't get better. We spent the first 30 minutes in shock at how terrible the atmosphere was. Not wanting to move around because these cats were not happy, we didn't want to add to their stress. Food: The food was alright, though it did take 30 minutes after ordering, which only gave us 15 minutes to eat it before we had to leave. I also saw another group complaining they were also waiting for their drinks for about 50 minutes. First of all, the menu was not the same as what they had online. During our first visit, I had a popcorn coffee, which was the most delicious coffee I've ever experienced, and I've been chasing it ever since. I was excited to come back and have it again, it is on their website, but when ordering it, I was told the website is incorrect and they don't have it anymore. They should update the website as it's incorrect and disappointing. The sandwiches were tasty and that's about it for praises. Half of the deserts were still frozen and the scones were cold, which the staff refused to heat up or toast for us. Atmosphere: screaming kids, scared cats. Cats constantly being poked and woken up with sticks even though you can't enter without agreeing not to wake the cats. no one seemed to be enforcing any of the rules anyway. All of which were constantly being broken in every corner of the cafe. They didn't seem to be understaffed either, it was a matter of not dealing with running the place. I also saw one of the cats lean up for attention from one of the staff members, and she recoiled and ignored it as if she was disgusted by the cats. Why would you work in a cat cafe if you don't like cats. That was one of the weirdest things that stuck out to me. Again, the kids. Running, jumping and stomping around everywhere, with the loudest ear piercing screeches from all directions. I saw multiple cats hiding in corners looking around scared at the sources of noise. I felt sad that I was here, I felt sad that I gave them money to run this awful place. And I do not recommend this place to anyone, ever. If you feel like bringing your child here, you are part of the problem. Cats are not toys for your children to chase and throw things at, nor are they a gimmick to draw people into your cafe, this is their home, treat them well, keep them safe.

Me and my husband ordered 2 drinks and some nachos! £13. So for just over an hour with cats it’s cost me almost £100. How can you justify this!! The food was mediocre at best. The cats are free to roam and unlike other cat cafes I've been to, the environment is enriching and exciting for them. The welfare of the cats does seem paramount to what they do there. I went with the kids and the experience was quite light. Cats do what cats do, mind their own business and sleep during the day. One of the rules in the cafe is to leave the cats alone if they are sleeping. Fair enough, but then this place would make more sense to be open at night when cats are active because most of the cats are either sleeping or running around to avoid people and find a quiet place to be left alone. That's what cats like, to be left alone. We haven't ordered food but milkshakes and certainly, they were made of milk because it's what they were, flavoured milk and clearly not made on-site but bought elsewhere and poured into the glass. See the short video uploaded. To me, having to pay £8 per adult and £6 per kid it's very expensive for what you get in return. Maybe free entry but you have to consume products, that would be more reasonable. Sorry but this is not a place for me.

We may have been unlucky but here is our experience. Lots of children the day we were there and unfortunately no control from the parents which meant that they did not respect the rules (running after cats etc) the cats spent their time hiding... So I didn't have the opportunity to approach one. We were on a bench right next to the toilets so absolutely not pleasant... (there were free places elsewhere...) The seat where I was sitting smelled of cat urine, which is obviously disturbing when eating food. Concerning the service, tea bags... in England, in a cat bar... I find that a real shame, especially considering the total price. In short, bad experience, hoping that this is not always the case.

The concept is great, but it’s evident that children are not particularly welcome. The staff weren't friendly or warm towards my toddler and I, and just behaved as if our presence there was a massive inconvenience. If the welfare of the cats is a major concern, perhaps introducing an age limit would be more appropriate. It’s clear that the café is a for-profit business that relies on a steady flow of customers to stay open and care for the cats. Many of these customers are likely to be parents with young children/toddlers, so it would be wise to create a family-friendly environment.

We were given a sheet to rule of do's & don'ts & shown to out table. Service was quick & a nice selection of drinks & foods are available. The cats are free to roam around, so be wary as they may try to steal your food! Though part of the rules are for you to leave the cats whilst they sleep & ask children not to walk around on their own, this obviously doesn't happen. Just be warned if you have a cat near you, you feel like the pied piper with children flocking around you! Whilst it was something a bit different, I wouldn't rush to go again.

Our visit to the Kitty Cafe was delightful. We had a lovely afternoon tea and was given wonderful customer service by all staff present. Of course, you cannot mention Kitty Cafe without talking about the adorable rescue cats who, despite one particular kitty being a little too eager to grab a scone (😂) added another level of sweetness to the cakes we enjoyed. I would definitely recommend coming here even if the entry fee seems a little expensive initially. The fee helps to ensure the cats are cared for and the rescue centre can care for more cats in the local area. Really worth the contribution. Thank you, Kitty Cafe ❤️

A lovely smiley place to be, especially if you adore cats. You need to book in advance. Staff are lovely. It was £8 per adult and £6 per child admission then whatever drinks or food you buy on top. My granddaughter absolutely loved it. A special treat for her birthday. She was so excited and it didn't disappoint. Unfortunately the main toilets were out of order but the staff one was available. You didn't have to queue long. It was comical to see the cats queuing too, to be let in a room for the litter trays! Very clean and happy place with lots of cats and friendly staff. Plenty of toys to interact with the cats too. A well behaved child's paradise. And cats too of course.

Firstly, I do like cats but this is not a place I would recommend. There is no consideration of hygiene at all, no hand sanitiser on tables and restricted toilet access. Unclear charging on entry, welfare donation is mandatory and not included with a food/drink order. Food could offer much better value for money. Cats have free reign which is great but not when this is over your lunch, having food stolen before being able to eat is not good. HOWEVER, what this Kitty cafe does do well is the ability to offer a sensory experience. I witnessed this working exceptionally well for a member of the public that could have additional needs. I also noted that one of my boys, who has sensory needs, was well rewarded from the engagement by some staff and the plethora of cats that are present. It was a higlight for him but not for me. Recommended for a sensory experience but I would need convincing to return for any other reason than therapy and respite.

I've not even visited YET but was absolutely SICKENED by some of the negative reviews. Anyone dedicating their business to helping rehome cats gets my full unwavering support. I'm from Leicester and am now absolutely determined to visit this wonderful place. What sort of human being openly slags off a charitable business for God's sake

Lovely place for cats to be. However, on this visit the cafe smelt awful, like urine. It had not smelt this bad on previous visits, and areas appeared to be in need of a clean. Seems like luck of the draw as to whether you get a window seat, where cats will like to sit. Quite expensive for just entry, no drinks included in the £8 price, especially when a lot of the cats aren’t interested in you. Cake was lovely. Customer service at the door wasn’t great, staff appeared quite overwhelmed and didn’t know how to handle the queue.

I believe if this was a standalone cafe the reviews would be a lot worse than what they currently are as their food and drinks quality just simply weren't good enough (their hot drinks are made out of a machine!) Firstly, we ordered a tea and a flat white and some food (one of the wraps being a vegan one) and when the tea came the waitress said "here's your decaf tea" and we said we didn't order decaf and the staff said "oh we don't have regular tea so we're just doing decaf is that ok?" and I didn't want to cause a fuss or waste a tea so we just accepted it as it was. The flat white was awful - full of foam. I'm not a coffee snob by any means but it was an awful coffee. Food came and it just looked sad. All the food is clearly frozen so I'm not sure where the high prices for the food come from. My husband's halloumi wrap had one piece of halloumi in it and my vegan wrap was just pathetic (also served with coleslaw that is not vegan). Even my five year old refused to eat her food... Whilst having the meal my daughter asked for a babyccino so I asked the person cleaning next to us if we could order one and she said yeah but continued to clean for another 5-10 minutes. I decided to go to the desk to ask for a babychino and the woman I asked said "Yes but I need to get some food first" so I said "Okay can I ask another member of staff then please as I've already been waiting a while to order one" so she directed me to someone else and the drink got ordered. I sat back down and a lady came over with the card reader and said it was £3.95 for the babychino... At this point, I hadn't complained because I'm not really the type to kick up a fuss. But once I heard they were charging £3.95 for warm milk I told the woman all the issues we have had and that I'm absolutely not paying £3.95 for warm milk to which she said "there isn't a way of putting babyccino through the till so I have to charge for a hot chocolate". For a place that I imagine has many many children coming in how have you not made it an option to add babychino to your till? Food and drinks were abysmal so I would suggest anyone visiting to either eat before or after your very expensive hour time slot. To add to all this just before leaving we went to the toilet which were absolutely disgusting. The floor was soaking wet, the ceiling had damp all over it and they smelt vile. If this is the condition of the toilet I dread to think what conditions their cats are kept in. The Kitty Cafe gets away with being a poor-quality cafe due to the cats that reside there and the business would greatly benefit from providing customers with higher quality food and drinks - even just making their own coffees rather than just pressing a button on a machine! I have attached photos of inside my wrap (notice how tiny the pieces of pepper are!!), the foam I had to spoon off the flat white and the ceiling in the bathroom.

Went as a family of 4, and was taken to a bench table where we couldn't talk to each other unless we looked around or leaned across each other, ordered coffee and had to ask for sweetener after it was delivered, we was not asked if we required it on ordering. Ordered tea but unless you wanted decaf or flavoured it was not available. Milkshake was like Wass. Really did not enjoy this place. Staff didn't if ask if everything was OK.

Adopted a kitty cafe cat, arrived back with a weeping eye and sneezing, also had some sort of urinary issue as he would wake up in a puddle of urine. Took him to the vets where he was initially treated for an upper respiratory tract infection however he still did the sneezing which I put down to a hairball as he was treated for a respiratory infection, this got progressively worse to the point he started panting unable to breathe turns out he’s actually got fairly bad feline asthma which he came to us with! None of this was mentioned prior to adoption. When you email to give an update on how the cat is settling in or about his medical issues they either ignore you or you get a short “sorry to hear this” answer, no concern shown about the. Think twice if you plan to adopt and if you really do want one of these cats get an independent vet check.

Unfortunately not the most enjoyable experience, which is really disappointing. It was incredibly crowded when we came in and there were a lot of young children running around and stalking the cats. The times I did get to see the cats, they were busy evading groups of children. I understand you cannot control your clientele, but it created a needlessly stressful experience for everyone. The service was alright, but I also got the impression that the staff were equally frazzled and exasperated, which made interactions rather uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend getting a meal here, either. Perhaps the coffees and desserts are more appetizing, but in terms of savory dishes, both the pizza quesadilla and mozzarella sticks were a very big let down in terms of taste and preparation. I regret that I did not have a better time here.

Great place but if you go in with a small group it will cost you a lot even before you sit down (cat welfare charge) and order. 2 adults, 3 children £34. Then you order your food and drink. Cost me £56 for 60 mins, 4 drinks and a cake.

Came in but had to leave before we got served (paid the entry anyway), highly unpleasant watching cats being chased by children an literally tipped out from their hidey holes by them while their guardians weren’t even bothered - staff didn’t seem to react either but the might have not seen. Places like this should be 12+ or supervised correctly. Watching cats with their tails tucked in and running away was highly unpleasant, especially for a cat owner.

Came today with my daughter and granddaughter….we were apalled to see how many kids were left to run around and chase the cats, and wave the play wands in their faces….we found the staff rude, as we had two cats taken away from us, as they said we were feeding them, NOT TRUE!! We didn’t bother them, and because of this, they came back to us. There were crumbs on the floor, but cats are ferral, and eat when and where they can. We’ve had cats and no exactly their dietary needs. We went to go and saw a watch for sale, we asked how much and she said, we’ve had issues with them, and they don’t work, so I said, take them off the shelf then, and passed it to her. We were also asked to leave as ‘our time was up’, but a couple who were next to us had been sat when we arrived, and were still there when we left….why cud they stay, and we had to leave? It is now £8 per adult and £6 per child, food prices are way too expensive….a very dear hour, plus we’re from out of town, and came on a train especially to see this place. I think the staff need to be retrained on how to deal with customers and also to tell children not to aggravate the cats, especially when they are sleeping!! I think their main priority is to feed as many humans as they can, and not to look after these furry beauties as well as they should! We will never come back, be warned!!

If you're there with your children and want to have some food, then you're in for a surprise: booking slot is for one hour, ordering takes around 20 minutes, cooking takes another 20 minutes, then that leaves you with less than 20 minutes to eat with your children. Food is not extravagant but quite pricey for what it actually is. Perhaps management should address this one hour book slot as it doesn't give people the chance to enjoy the food that they payed 40£ for ( a toastie, a jacket potato, four chicken nuggets and 3 drinks). Staff and cats are lovely though.

This is the 3rd time I've been to kitty cafe and the previous visits were ok ISH but this weekend we waited an hour for food or drinks to arrive, a couple of tables were served before us even though they arrived after us so I think we were forgotten about. Need to get more staff if it's a busy weekend or just don't book in as many customers! The experience was not good at all, I'd rather give the £50 I spent there to charity. Food was terrible, I wouldn't go again.
