Brilliant idea. Wish they had one in my home town. Apparently it's to help orphaned cats. They are supporting 27 now. Unfortunately I couldn't stay . But great atmosphere and great cats. So I would make it a priority if ever i visit this city again. Very helpful and friendly staff.

There seems to have been an incident at the cafe at the beginning of September that has traumatised the cats. We've been to a few cat cafes and this was by far the worst. The cats were either hiding the entire time or completely uninterested in any interaction and walked away as soon as they came near. Some approached when the food arrived but none of them were happy to be interacted with, it was really sad. The staff need to monitor how children are behaving or offer children only time slots so they know when to be extra vigilant. The food was awful. If we hadn't been in a rush and also prepaid for our food then I would have let them know I would only be paying for our drinks. Really terrible quality.

The place was overcrowded. There was nothing but confusion when we arrived, wasn't even clear if anyone was going to pay any attention to us. We were eventually sitted and the sofas were really nice. However, there were so many people, that the cats were tired of the crowed and only trying to escape all the comotion. The milkshakes were watery and sandwiches way too salty. It also smelled of cat piss, but that to expect. My son and hubby enjoyed it, but I wouldn't go there again.

- Order/food was fine, nothing majorly spectacular but servicable. - Overwhelming smell of cat pee upon entry - arguably goes hand in hand with the venue; but Birmingham location does not share this trait. - Majority of cats felt jaded and not a good fit for the kind of environment where continuous interaction is a given - putting welfare first, they really aren't a good fit; again, cannot say the same for the Birmingham location. - Staff; whilst servicable if anything did not seem concerned on multiple instances where the cat's welfare was compromised, both by roudy patrons, but also those outside banging on the windows - not a great look - certainly a way forward here would be to one-way windows - the cats really should be used as advertisements for the venue in a sense. Overall, not a great experience in comparison to other previously locations - probably wouldn't come back.

Me and my partner went. We've never gone before and it was our first time here as we're on holiday. It all started okay, we read the rules, paid the wellness check and got sat-down. Then we ordered food and after we had eaten decided to go for a look around and say hello to all the cats, whilst leaving our things in our chair so we didn't have to worry about the cats trying to get into the bag. We came back about 5 ish minutes later, noticed our full drinks were gone which we kind of just shrugged off, put our coats on and was thinking where to go next. Then we had a staff member come up to us asking us who took us to our table. I couldn't remember if it was the blonde or brown haired lady, but I politely said I think maybe the blonde lady but I'm not 100% sure and then I said oh no it was the brown haired lady and pointed to her. And then she said in a not so nice tone, did you pay for the wellness check and I said yes, the girl with black hair saw us do it as she's the one who checked us in. She then subsequently asked for the booking name which I told her, andcwalked off without saying thank you and gave a very snobby response and went 'mhm'. I was happy to show her the email proving it but before I could she walked away. Then I noticed they were looking on the screen and went OH, when they saw our booking. They didn't even come over to apologise. This ruined me and my partners experience and unfortunately means we won't be coming back. It is very unfortunate that I have to write this review but unfortunately this is what happened and I hope others don't experience this in the future. It made us feel very unwelcome and treated as if we had snuck in. And we went there, the cats seem very distressed with young children running around and hitting them with toys. And the cats seemed scared because there was too many people and they could not go somewhere quiet as they were too many people and children. Overall the staff were rude and the cats seemed terrified. I do not recommend.

Took my children who had a really lovely time. Lots of cats just doing their thing though there were some adults and children who didn't respect our space at all as they were trying to get to the cats! Cafe itself is clean, bright and welcoming. I appreciate this is a rescue centre but the welfare fee is very expensive (£28 for 2 adults and 2 children) and the food is extortionate and of very poor quality, especially for the price.

My partner and I visited on the 3rd September. We have been once before and it was a really good experience. The cats are so loved and the staff are very sweet. However, on this occasion, the cafe was over run with children. These children were not managed. Three kids at a time were chasing the cats down. They were being hit with blocks, having 3 sticks thrown in their faces and were being harassed in every possible way. It is a credit to the cats that they stayed as calm as they did. Most cats would have bitten or scratched - they just ran away or regressed into themselves. The cats are rescued and surely have trauma. They deserve a lot better. We have contacted management because we are concerned.

We even got to play with kittens on our 2nd visit here. Food was okay, service was good. However, it was incredibly busy and crowded when we visited, the cats mostly looked like they'd had enough of being poked and prodded by many children. It felt unethical and not in the benefit of the cats that our £30 "welfare" fee should be paying for. Also, beware that you will only get one hour. TLDR, was quite expensive, and seemed unethical for the cats.

This was a wonderfully enjoyable experience. Lots of cats around all rescue and you contributed to their aid by visiting. I feel that kids should be told that they cannot chase cats, there was a lot of this going on and nothing was being done. One cat, popcorn, came over and just jumped onto my lap and fell asleep there for 45 minutes. I am a bit of a cat magnet for some reason so this was not strange. It was a wonderful day. Would revisit for sure.

ANIMAL WELFARE NIGHTMARE This should not be a place that welcomes children - saw an unbelievable amount of misbehaving children running, grabbing cats, chasing them behind furniture. If you as a parent cannot stay with your child and make them aware of how to treat a cat, you should be removed. I'm surprised staff weren't telling them off for not following the rules. The £8 welfare fee charge per person seems ridiculous when it turns out that some of the cats have been abused in their past and are now surrounded by loud children grabbing and scaring them. You can visibly see the stress that some of them experience. I was also surprised by the level of grown adults feeding and harassing cats by wiggling toys directly into their heads when they are sleeping and trying to clearly avoid human contact, something that should also be monitored by staff in an environment like this. It seems so backwards that THIS is a 'rehab and rescue' centre when only one of them is up for adoption. I understand some cats have behavioural and health issues but if they do, they should not be in this kind of environment!!! Abused cats should not be placed with children. Easy as. Ironic as well that the two purebred Persians are not available for adoption and when one of them came out, got instantly scared and hid away again whilst the other then hid behind a sofa. The staff were lovely and very helpful however this just does not seem ethical at all and it makes me worry a lot about the cats inside. I may sound uneducated but the rules should be strictly followed and if cats have negatived pasts, why are they placed in an environment like this? I follow many rescues and many cats descriptions require no children and quiet environments. Something here just doesn't add up. I appreciate the honesty from the staff about stuff and I understand as a worker there you can only do so much but something needs to change here. Why have rules if you let people constantly break them? If a cat was to lash back at someones child I bet the parents would try and make out as if their child didn't do anything wrong... Please re assess your rules....

So my son went to the kitty cafe Saturday and we paid £60 for the party package which included a birthday cake which is sold separately at £35. We received a £10 shop-bought flake cake that looked like someone had scraped all the toppings off with a knife. I asked for a box to take the rest home in which I was told they would have to ask the manager. Followed by alot of whispering the lady actually gave me the flake cake box saying "this is one it came out of" Shocking. This is an absolute rip off if I wanted a shop brought cake I could of brought my own. The first picture is the advertised cake. On the day I was told to email their admin team in which she will inform them to expect an email from me. No reply as of yet and no resolution. So I have decided to take further action. The cafe was cold and we had to request a change of table. The cats were uninterested ( understandably) unless food was involved. The food was good. The service was good. The toilets were appalling!! Added image at the end to show what it looks like. The only thing was the cat welfare fee. We came as a group of 3 people and surprised to find out it’s £8 PER person. It does say on the website when making the reservation but in the block of text I didn’t read it. There was no issue paying it but it seems quite steep. I would’ve thought it would be £8 per group. If I lived a bit closer I would be put off with the fee unless I went on my own. But since it was a day out it was fine to pay as a one off experience.

Was really looking forward to visiting as we were staying in the hotel around the corner from the cafe and passed it while on our way to our hotel. £8 each for adults which I didn't mind, only ordered drinks as we weren't hungry. It was an extremely hot day and it was nice to go into the air conditioned venue but after 5 mins it was just too cold (take a cardigan!) There were plenty of cats/kittens but the majority seemed skittish and didn't seem to like being touched and wanted to hide away.......they seemed to be so "over the attention" from customers!! 🤣 You'd be better off saving your money and just stand outside looking in the windows as that's where the furry friends all tend to flock! Toilets were slightly unpleasant and the smell of urine (not cats!) was a bit strong.

The donation was not optional and was £8 PER PERSON. They shoved us in the corner where there were no cats anywhere even in sight so my table has basically paid 8£ per person to be in the room. the service took over 15 minutes to even come over to us to ask us if we wanted to order anything which by that point I was just ready to leave because the experience was so poor. Overall I was extremely dissatisfied with this place and wouldn’t recommend to anyone other than cat lovers who will chase the cats around the pet them on the floor. Once the service came to us they made us pay BEFORE receiving what we ordered which is extremely bazaar. That’s not something that any place should do, especially a place that has already charged me a “donation” just to enter the place. Highly recommend changing everything about this place. Its a wonderful place for cat lovers with a normal price at 6 to 8 £ to enter you’ll see cats everywhere. There are total of 22 cats the rules are reasonable. Including things like do not disturb the cat who are sleeping and do not pick up cats, ofc there are a few rules. The staff is very wonderful and friendly, helping you when you have problem. They also respect the cats by giving them clean and new toys every few weeks (I think) and lowering the volume of the song to not disturb the cats. It is a beautiful place after all but only bad side is the customers not being careful and some of them not following the rules.

I visited the Nottingham branch and I was quite disappointed. Firstly, you are greeted with a fee of £8 to enter! I was never made aware of this fee when I called to book, I accept it is a rescue centre but to be told about this beforehand would have been good! The Kitty Cafe gets away with being a poor-quality cafe due to the cats that reside there (not very many to be honest) and the business would greatly benefit from providing customers with higher quality food and drinks - even just making their own coffees rather than just pressing a button on a machine! Shame, it could have been so much better!

It's just not worth it. I paid £22 quid just to get through the door. Okay, I don't mind paying for the up keep of some cats, though I thought it was a little steep. Ordered food, another £45 quid and boy was it bad!! Afternoon tea... I've had many of these and they're normally around the £25 mark for two, so this one was right on the button. However... Was given two options for sandwiches, selected ham and cheese one and a chicken one. Didn't get the chicken one, but eight little triangles of ham and some cheese spread... Sorry, what?!? Bread was half stale, the scones looked past it. The only good thing on the thing was the cake! And it was tiny! It was like someone had attempted, and gave up after a minute of trying. Daughters food didn't come out. Asked where it was and the lady who had taken our order looked at me like I had grown another head. It has been left, waiting, and she has forgotten. So what was meant to be hot, came out pretty much cold!! Ordered two hot drinks... One hazelnut, one normal coffee. Normal coffee didn't really taste of anything and the other was just basically hot sugar. Daughter had a milkshake, wasn't bad, but not amazing either. Considering you have to pay a fee to get in, I expected the food to be somewhat decent.... Yeah, it wasn't and spoons down the road sell nicer food for less price. Giving it 2 stars for the cats and the friendly staff, even though mine forgot half our order

I want to start this review by stating we've been here before a few years ago, and it was wonderful, the best cat cafe experience we've had. We've since been to cat cafe's all over the uk and some are better than others, but none were as great as our first time here. Unfortunately our most recent visit was the worst experience we've ever had out of all cat cafes. We arrived after booking tea for 2 online, but was just told to pay for the 1 hour each on arrival, had to find a staff member to tell them we booked the tea for 2, then paid more to get what we planned. As soon as we entered we were greeted with horrifically screaming children running around the building and terrified cats hiding, being chased, and shivering from fear. It didn't get better. We spent the first 30 minutes in shock at how terrible the atmosphere was. Not wanting to move around because these cats were not happy, we didn't want to add to their stress. Food: The food was alright, though it did take 30 minutes after ordering, which only gave us 15 minutes to eat it before we had to leave. I also saw another group complaining they were also waiting for their drinks for about 50 minutes. First of all, the menu was not the same as what they had online. During our first visit, I had a popcorn coffee, which was the most delicious coffee I've ever experienced, and I've been chasing it ever since. I was excited to come back and have it again, it is on their website, but when ordering it, I was told the website is incorrect and they don't have it anymore. They should update the website as it's incorrect and disappointing. The sandwiches were tasty and that's about it for praises. Half of the deserts were still frozen and the scones were cold, which the staff refused to heat up or toast for us. Atmosphere: screaming kids, scared cats. Cats constantly being poked and woken up with sticks even though you can't enter without agreeing not to wake the cats. no one seemed to be enforcing any of the rules anyway. All of which were constantly being broken in every corner of the cafe. They didn't seem to be understaffed either, it was a matter of not dealing with running the place. I also saw one of the cats lean up for attention from one of the staff members, and she recoiled and ignored it as if she was disgusted by the cats. Why would you work in a cat cafe if you don't like cats. That was one of the weirdest things that stuck out to me. Again, the kids. Running, jumping and stomping around everywhere, with the loudest ear piercing screeches from all directions. I saw multiple cats hiding in corners looking around scared at the sources of noise. I felt sad that I was here, I felt sad that I gave them money to run this awful place. And I do not recommend this place to anyone, ever. If you feel like bringing your child here, you are part of the problem. Cats are not toys for your children to chase and throw things at, nor are they a gimmick to draw people into your cafe, this is their home, treat them well, keep them safe.

Superb place to spend a quiet moment and support the animal cause. Too bad some people run to touch the cats at all costs. Let them live in peace if they want to come they will come.😉

This is the best cat cafe we have visited! Adorable friendly cats who are so fascinating to watch and play with. They are really well looked after by the staff, who are calm and friendly and also very patient with both cats and visitors. Great food choice, really tasty and great value. We all had the meal deal which includes a toastie, cake and a drink (mocktails are lovely). We also shared falafel bites which were very nice. The cafe is large and bright with a great atmosphere. There are lots of toys and platforms etc everywhere to keep the cats happy and entertained. Dreamies time was fun to watch! We hope to visit again when we're next in the area.

This place is simply beautiful! There is plenty of cats and kittens all around the place. You can sit there enjoying a cuppa and a piece of cake while admiring these lovely creatures having fun and running around! If you want a different afternoon this is the purrrfect place

I really enjoyed coming here. The cats were really friendly and playful and so many different ages and sizes to play with. The only criticism would be the food. I ordered a pizza and it tasted like it was a frozen one which was microwaved. The tea was also pretty bland. I would go again to see the cats and for the good cause but not for the food at all.

Booked for my daughter’s 13th birthday over a month before the actual date! I received a phone call 2hrs before the booking that they need to be accompanied by an adult! Fair enough but then paid £34 just to get in! I ordered the girls a toastie each (3 girls) a cake each and they drank tap water. My daughter did have a j20 too. £46 I mean!! Come on!!! Me and my husband ordered 2 drinks and some nachos! £13. So for just over an hour with cats it’s cost me almost £100. How can you justify this!! The food was mediocre at best. The cats are lovely and the staff are young girls so I didn’t want to cause a fuss but how they can charge what they do is shocking.

Had a lovely experience at Kitty Cafe Nottingham. The food was in my opinion a little expensive but it was very good quality, fresh and tasty. The cats are free to roam and unlike other cat cafes I've been to, the environment is enriching and exciting for them. The welfare of the cats does seem paramount to what they do there. The entrance fee was a little pricey but again seeing how well they look after the cats I can see the cost is justifiable.

I went with the kids and the experience was quite light. Cats do what cats do, mind their own business and sleep during the day. One of the rules in the cafe is to leave the cats alone if they are sleeping. Fair enough, but then this place would make more sense to be open at night when cats are active because most of the cats are either sleeping or running around to avoid people and find a quiet place to be left alone. That's what cats like, to be left alone. We haven't ordered food but milkshakes and certainly, they were made of milk because it's what they were, flavoured milk and clearly not made on-site but bought elsewhere and poured into the glass. See the short video uploaded. To me, having to pay £8 per adult and £6 per kid it's very expensive for what you get in return. Maybe free entry but you have to consume products, that would be more reasonable. Sorry but this is not a place for me.

Sorry to say but me and a few friends visited a while ago, poor food… the jacket potatoes ordered were stone cold and staff admitted the sandwiches were out of a packet, despite the constant replacing of food we were still asked to leave when time was up… when we were then told we shouldn’t have expected the food to be good anyway… There are better and more equipped cat rescues out there, they may well not serve coffee but I wouldn’t let that deter you from visiting them, rather than this place.

We enjoyed the concept. However, it's just a swarm of kids harassing cats. Somehow, the rules need to be policed better. Maybe a member of staff should be keeping an eye on it.

I took my daughter here because she wanted to be around cats (after ours passed away ☹️). Amazing place the cats are well looked after, chilled out and either sleeping or playing with each other it’s a pleasure to see them. There is a fee of £8 and £6 for a child, we didn’t book we turned up and there was plenty of space. The food was lovely we had a £12.95 meal deal where you get a toastie, a drink and a cake. The food was covered on each table in case any theft occurs but one of the cats managed to grab a sandwich (not ours). The staff are lovely and very attentive.

We may have been unlucky but here is our experience. Lots of children the day we were there and unfortunately no control from the parents which meant that they did not respect the rules (running after cats etc) the cats spent their time hiding... So I didn't have the opportunity to approach one. We were on a bench right next to the toilets so absolutely not pleasant... (there were free places elsewhere...) The seat where I was sitting smelled of cat urine, which is obviously disturbing when eating food. Concerning the service, tea bags... in England, in a cat bar... I find that a real shame, especially considering the total price. In short, bad experience, hoping that this is not always the case.

The concept is great, but it’s evident that children are not particularly welcome. The staff weren't friendly or warm towards my toddler and I, and just behaved as if our presence there was a massive inconvenience. If the welfare of the cats is a major concern, perhaps introducing an age limit would be more appropriate. It’s clear that the café is a for-profit business that relies on a steady flow of customers to stay open and care for the cats. Many of these customers are likely to be parents with young children/toddlers, so it would be wise to create a family-friendly environment.

We saw the beautiful cats basking in the window on a wonderfully sunny day. They drew us into the Cafe where we were greeted and seated by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Appreciate the care and attention to the rescue cats and commitment to providing them loving homes. I know now that the Kitty Cafe does much more than a relaxing place to hang out in feline company.

We had a lovely time at the Kitty Café! The staff were all amazing and so attentive. The cats are all happy and clearly well cared for. My favourite cats were Theodore and Popcorn, but they were all equally beautiful! I love the decor inside and out, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Service was very quick too.

This place is Sir Meme certified. It's a fun night out alone, with friends, or with the missus. You'll always meet interesting people, and everyone is friendly. The vibes are great. I highly recommend this, especially if you're a Notts local.

We had the Famous Filthy Kebab - it was excellent! The vegan slices were really tasty and aioli was scrumptious! Service was great and super friendly.
