Beautiful space! The cats are gorgeous and so well looked after, probably the best cat cafe I've been too! Sophie the supervisor was very welcoming and genuinely cares about and can tell you so much about the cats! The food was great, beans on pizza is now a thing! And I would've shared it all with lovely naughty Pumpkin if it wasn't against the rules! Paul has a special place in my heart ❤️ Thank you for a really wonderful morning!

Let me preface this by saying the carers are great and the Kitty Cafe working as a rescue centre as well is amazing. That said, the problem is the patrons. Having babies and toddlers running around and grabbing cats is not great for the cats. In the first 15 minutes two toddlers were (rightly) scratched. Furthermore, despite the terms and conditions guests regularly leave food unattended and uncovered. We've been to other cat cafes that have much stricter regulations, but this is closely aligned with the wellbeing of the animals. We've heard carers say that some of the cats might be feeling overstimulated - but I would feel the same if I was exposed to screaming children for any period of time.

Cute little place with beautiful cats however over priced, the food is below average and the poor cats are stressed, wary of so many people trying to touch them.

Absolutely appalled is probably the nicest way to describe my experience at this place. The cats looked terrified, constantly being chased around by both kids and adults. The food is downright atrocious, tasting like cheap, low-quality frozen meals. Honestly, I could have cooked something better when I was five years old. My advice? Stay far away.

Cat-themed cafe for cat lovers in downtown Nottingham. The eight pounds adult entry, £6 kids, is a welfare fee for looking after the kitties, and then there is table service of (non-alcoholic) hot and cold drinks, and snacks (jacket potatoes, toasties, etc.). There are about 30 cats here, and you’ll enjoy lots of close contact with them. It’s lovely to watch them play. Kitty Cafe is also a cat rescue centre. Tasty food and coffee. There is a merchandise range too (see priced list in my photographs). Highly recommended for cat lovers 🐈‍⬛

came in today and last week! Was taken to my table last week by alissia who was very kind and nice 😊. Today I was taken to my table by Courtney who also took my order she was also very sweet and friendly!🥰. Both of the girls have lovely smiles and attitude towards working. Atmosphere was quite chill and both staff were very friendly and talkative telling me and my children about the cats. A few of the other staff last week looked tired and relatively bored you could even say annoyed to be at work. Other than that the cafe was a nice experience and I will come here again!❤️

I found the cat cafe experience to be quite pricey, especially considering the welfare cost of £8 per person upon entry. It’s ironic given that I saw upsetting footage showing how the cats are kept in small cages. This raised concerns about whether the café truly has the best interests of the cats at heart. Although they ask you to read the rules upon entering, these aren’t actively enforced, which led to discomfort as I witnessed stressed cats being chased by children. Made me not want to approach any poor cat to not add to their overstimulated and loud environment. Overall, I feel guilty to have come and won't be returning, as I’m unsure if this place is as dedicated to animal welfare as it claims to be.

So I visited the cafe on Friday, with my husband and 2 children. We booked online it didn’t say anything about paying a fee to even enter and sit at the cafe. However, I do understand it was a welfare charge for the cats so it is understandable. There was an issue with 2 staff. The lady who took me and my family to the table (Alicia) to me, seemed new which isn’t a problem at all! She was lovely, very welcoming and polite. It seemed as though she may of felt intimidated by another member of staff when I overheard the other member of staff being rude to her and shouting at her about resetting tables. As a manager myself it’s very upsetting to see colleagues not being nice to each other when you should be working as a team and when the one who’s being picked on is new! The newer girl was lovely and I honestly feel so bad for her. Other than that my experience was okay. They should really look into getting rid of the girl who was being mean to the newer girl as from what I saw she was the problem. I personally felt like Alicia was being bullied by the other girl. And it is beyond ridiculous, and i advise Alicia to make a formal complaint to her manager. If I had to describe the mean girl I’d say she has a mole underneath her eye and a nose ring piercing with mousy brown shortish hair. Food was ok not the best and slightly cold. Cats don’t tend to come near you they mainly stay up high or in their beds. Other than the altercation between the staff, the atmosphere was nice.

I do not recommend! It was mt first and last time. I went with friends and children, so paid £42 just for the entrance. Everything was rushed because you only have 1h booking, they kicked people out of our table at 12pm sharp, but we waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order even though I asked for it after 10 minutes and we only had 20 minutes to eat after they brought our order, after a few minutes they came to informed us that our reservation ends in 15 minutes, and 5 to they already waited with spray to clean the table. One waitress was not nice and another one brought us someone else's order, there are probably 25 tables max. It was overcrowded and rushed, cats sit on the upper shelves or run away (no wonder with so many people inside) In my opinion they want to have as many people as possible in the shortest time possible, it is not a peaceful environment for these cats.

I visited this establishment yesterday. From the time I took a step inside to the moment I left it all seemed a bit hectic. You could see some of the staff was trying to do their best while others were hardly helpful. When we were seated and waited about 20 minutes for them to take our order. We ordered our food and drinks which was fine until we were informed our food wasn’t available. We picked different options. We waited around 10 minutes just to then be asked multiple times what we ordered. My food came about 10 minutes later, I finished my food and my partners food still had not came. My partners food came eventually which was about 45 minutes into our visit. She had literally taken one bite of her food, which a staff member came over and asked if we had received everything from our order and was told we only had 15 minutes left. The visit up until that point was slightly above mediocre, but after waiting 45 minutes for our food and then being we have to leave soon, felt very inconsiderate to how long we had been waiting and left us with very disappointing feeling when we left.

Poor, poor, poor cats. As a cat owner myself this was an incredibly upsetting experience. Not a single cat that was roaming around was in any way relaxed or calm, probably due to the fact that there were hundreds of screaming children running around not even remotely regarding the rules. Cats were being pushed and pulled, toys thrown at them, shaken awake and poked and prodded not a single parent attempting to control their children and even leaving it to the young waitresses to tell them no. I lost count of the amount of times some random child came climbing around us. The staff were very friendly and I honestly don't know how they even put up with that kind of environment. As someone who works in the catering and hospitality industry this was a nightmare to witness too. I attempted to order some food as was promptly told they were out of wraps, dough balls and tuna mayo. You seriously couldn't send a staff member to run to a local store to grab a quick restock of a few essentials? Not ideal to have half of your menu out of stock. The entrance fee is fine for the welfare of the cats, however this place needs to improve on the actual welfare of the cats by setting up an actual relaxed environment by either banning children or setting an age limit. Will not be back and will not recommend this to anyone.

Me and my husband came hoping to have a nice experience with some adorable cats. Unfortunately we were met with a £16 entrance fee that we were not informed about when we booked online for a seat and an over crowded cafe that clearly made the cats very over stimulated and overwhelmed. This place felt like abuse for cats. Kids and adults grabbing and jumping at them (I know they are kids but this was ridiculous), cats being cornered into areas where they are supposed to feel safe while hands grab at them, and just an overwhelming environment to be in in general as a person. Me and my husband were so distraught from watching all of this we just left not even 10 minutes of being there (you book an hour). Please do not support a business that capitalizes on the emotional stress and abuse of animals that just want to enjoy themselves.

Starting off with the positive points, the food was delicious (chicken wrap and bbq chicken ciabatta) and very filling for its price. However, the “fresh” juice was not at all fresh, you can at least say on the menu that its a box juice… plus it tasted weird… Also…. the entrance is 8£, which is very weird as the cats are not even thaaat friendly and obviously its not the cats fault but if you want to charge that much for the entrance at least bring more cats. or charge less… Not really worth the money for the experience that you get. Another positive thing is that the employees were all very kind and helpful. Thats all… In Greece you get a better experience with cats at most open air cafes without having to pay for entrance…

I had a table booked on Friday 14/2/25 at 12.30 at the kitty cafe Nottingham, for myself, daughter and her friend. We were shown to our table at 12.30 after that not one member of staff approached us, it was 45 minutes before anyone came to take our order by which point I decided we were leaving as that would only leave us 15 minutes to have food or drink . The member of staff that showed us to our table , did come and clear tables either side of us and spoke to customers sat either side of us so she was aware we were sat there and had not yet approached us to take our order, despite me trying to get her attention she and no other member of staff approached us until 1.15 to take our order, I feel this is really poor customer service, considering it wasn't overly busy. When I complained to the staff member all they could say to me was sorry , they did not offer to extend our booking so we could have time to order food and drink. I paid the £20 welfare charge, which I wouldn't have minded if we had received the service that you expect from booking a table at the Kitty cafe. I have emailed a complaint, but it's yet to be acknowledged or replied to .

Visited today but won’t be returning. Food finally came 10 minutes before we were due to leave, was nothing special and was not overly hot just warm. The cafe was overfilled and some of the cats seemed stressed. I think the idea is great but there needs to be an age requirement as it’s not really appropriate for young boisterous children chasing the cats around. All the staff seemed very young, more experienced staff in hospitality would improve things I feel. All in all I would describe it as disappointing.

Very lovely cats! We were placed next to the toilet which was freezing so we had to move which the staff were not too happy about. The staff were very unfriendly. The food was appalling, took half an hour to come and then it was the smallest jacket potato and a couple of dry salad leaves. Cheap tasting chips which had no garlic mayo as they were sold out. My cappuccino was stone cold and had no chocolate on. We were then given 15 minutes to leave while still eating before being told to leave with for 8 pounds a person was a bit steep!

The staff are wonderful and the cats are too.. the only issue is the welfare of the cats with there being SOO MANY BOISTEROUS CHILDREN. During the hour that I had there were toddlers and young children running across absolutely terrifying the poor cats. We barely got to see most of them as the children would be chasing them, pulling at their fur/ tails and the parents doing absolutely nothing. Today me and my partner witnessed a couple with two young girls. One of which was constantly being told to run up to the cats screaming “KITTY KITTY GET THE KITTY.” People have no common sense. It’s not a petting zoo it’s a CAFE! You’re meant to relax, buy food and the cats will come to you. But no. Almost every family with young children absolutely destroyed the atmosphere. It’s ironic as the whole point of the cafe is to raise money to save cats but this is traumatising to them. Personally I believe this to be a company issue as there should be age limits e.g no children under 10 years old to prevent absolute carnage. I won’t be coming here again sadly.

I was sitting relaxing in a chair and small cat came over and was about to jump on my lap. This was ruined by a kid clapping in its face to scare away while the parent just stood there. I know kids will be kids but seemed like it was done on purpose. Talk about rude! Literally every time a cat walked over to me, someone would scare it away. Place isn’t relaxing at all. We asked for a small glass of milk for each of them and they wanted to charge the price of a Latte, almost £3 and no biscuits or cookies for them either. The Cats here are well looked after. most are very reserved and keep their distance. I would say the price for entry was a little high for two adults and two toddlers (£28) but it goes to the welfare of the cats. The price will prevent us from returning. I'll say this, the cafe has plenty of space with lots of things for the cats to do. The staff were also friendly, so it was an enjoyable experience. But, I'm not sure I'd recommend it. There was only 1 child there when I went (midday weekday), and they had been running about, at one point semi cornering a cat by following it into a storage corner. But that goes towards the upkeep of the kitties 😸 The only thing that stressed me out being a cat lover. Is the amount of kids rushing around with cat toys. Most of the cat stay up high so they couldn't be bothered by kids. But the ones who were walking around had toys shoved in the faces. And parents didn't stop them. The cafe has plenty of runs. HERES A PROBLEM. This is a cafe, it sells food, the chairs and tables are not designed to be at the correct height to eat the food, making it difficult to enjoy a meal and awkward to eat. If you drop food by accident (or your young child does), staff accuse you of feeding the cats. If I go here again I won't order any food for fear of being wrongly accused of feeding the cats. Maybe they should stop selling food all together.....

This was one of the saddest experiences I have had in my life. The cats seemed incredibly stressed out by the environment of kids and adults alike constantly grabbing at them and getting in their faces. It was a lot! I have been to a fair few cat cafes within England and abroad and I have never seen such a horrific site. The cats did not have a space they could go to for safety if they did not wish to be bothered, the cats were only available for adoption if they were incredibly depressed (which in my opinion was far more of them compared to what cats were available for adoption) and the staff did nothing to help support these poor cats. Every cat I saw was just scared and stressed the entire time we were there. Considering that normally these centres are used to encourage adoption I was incredibly disheartened to know that these cats are kept for the company to continue to gain from their terror. I think stronger regulations should be put in place here, I have never been to such a loud and overwhelming space in my life. Every cat cafe I have been to before is quiet and calm and provides a comfortable space for the cats both adult and children alike but this was crazy! From kids screaming to both adult and children constantly bothering the cats that did not wish for attention, we even witnessed a group of kids with some adults corner a couple of kittens and at that point we just left. I said my piece to the adults and left the building it was awful. On top of all of this, the service was not great (which I would understand if they were trying to get on top of the cat welfare situation but they clearly were not) and the food was over expensive and frankly did not taste nice in the slightest. If I could leave a lower star review I would! This place is not fit for purpose and if anything goes against the cats welfare.

The workers are lovely and doing their best. The issue here is the parents and their children. The first 20 mins I was here, I saw kids grabbing, pulling, chasing and scaring cats. I saw a child dump about 10 toys on a sleeping cat, and i saw one child grab and shake a tunnel while a cat was in it, infront of his parents who did nothing. Most the cats are lovely when they are on their own and trying to come see you. But then there will be 20 children trying to climb your chair while you are in it. The food seems lovely, but this place was overwhelmed by running children, screaming and generally, watching cats seem uncomfortable. The staff were doing their best. And god BLESS them 🙏 for having to deal with this. I probably won't come back. Just because of how overwhelming and sad the experience ended up being.

My daughter’s 8th birthday and she wanted to go kitty cafe, so 4 adults and 2 children cost £42 on entrance which is very pricey in my opinion and that is only for an hour. We ordered food which was very expensive for what it was, we wanted x2 tea for 2 and one kids tea for 2 but their was no difference in price, they were limited on options and didn’t have cheese and ham but made out their was no cheese but after confusing us all food we finally was made aware food is pre-made so only have what’s left so cheese on its own isn’t an option, the lady got flustered ask another girl to serve us instead which was quite rude, we only asking basic questions trying to understand the menu. They said do we want it toasted and we said yes but they didn’t come toasted after all the drama, that was £75 for just food and a drink each. After just finishing eating we get told we only have 10mins and have to leave I get an hour slot but literally they want you in and out as quick as possible. Over £100 for some basic food and quick fuss of cats not really worth it to be honest, and to top it off my 3 year old got told off about 4 times for getting a little over exited so maybe strap them in a pram so they can’t move at all.

Please enforce a no children rule. With the price of entry there shouldn't be a need to fill the cafe to the brim with kids to keep it running. We barely saw any cats, they all hid up high and I can't blame them. None of them came to be stroked or could sit quietly because the cafe was absolutely packed. Please allow for those with respect to sit quietly and order more food and drink rather than kicking people out after an hour to just get more money. Don't charge for the welfare of the cats if you're willing to let them be traumatised just to get more entry fees.

One of our servers was nice but the food was pretty bland and nothing special. The main reason for the bad review though is the vibe. Kids are unmonitored chasing the cats around and people will follow cats right beside your table, the whole thing was just a bit strange. The cats were lovely and the best part of the experience but it seems questionable how fair the whole experience is for them, with children unmonitored chasing them around and the cages they are kept in when the cafe is closed.

If you support cat welfare do not visit this awful place. I went when it first opened and it's incredibly depressing. I will never ever go back. The cats have a miserable existence - they are poked, prodded and chased by patrons all day in the cafe and then locked in tiny individual boxes overnight. This cafe has a dreadful reputation for both cat welfare and treatment of their staff. The sooner it is shut down the better.

Fabulous cat cafe! Gorgeous and very content cats (we particularly loved Muffin and Pretzel). Cool interior with big comfy chairs and sofas for the humans and lots of things for the cats to play on sleep on. Coffee were good and although we didn't eat the food smelt delicious. Really well run. Loads better than the cat cafe we went to in Singapore.

Used to visit the cafe regularly when visiting friends in Nottingham, but stopped going as cats are visibly depressed and the food hygiene is terrible. You can see from other reviewers the horrible conditions they are kept in when not out on public show. No wonder they are stressed and often sick, with several in the past dying of which they are always vague about circumstances. Do your own research before going especially on Reddit or indeed under ‘Polyverse Ltd ‘ which is their umbrella company encasing all locations. Several employees have come out with allegations of horrid and abusive working conditions. They employ specifically young vulnerable people who know no better and can be paid pittance while being poorly trained. The place being a ‘rescue’ is a scam and a marketing tool. Cats are only put up for adoption (off loaded) if they become troublesome or are not popular with patrons. This is why the ‘breed’ cats are never up for adoption, they are brought into the business and are not rescues. Pedigree and ‘rarer’ cats are good for attracting business. (Much like a petting zoo) You may think you are doing a good thing and supporting vulnerable cats, but instead you are enabling a cycle of abuse for both cats and employees. Consider spending your money elsewhere or donating to legit charities.

They do not adhere to the Animal Welfare Act 2006. Overnight the cats are locked in tiny boxes and forced to sleep next to their litter trays. Please do not give these people your money.

(2024 visit)Our second visit and already feel we can expect the best experience, look forward to the treat of coming. The cats are so adorable and obviously so loved and taken care of. The facilities for them are amazing with a plethora of shelves walkways and play areas. We loved the spiral staircase and castle tower. The food for us humans was dreamy delicious as always - we especially loved the smores brookie. The staff were friendly and polite and the merch pawesome!! We bought a hoodie :) (First visit 2020) Absolutely brilliant! Went for birthday treat, it was amazing! Even better in reality than lovely photos in google. Friendly relaxed atmosphere, adorable cats from the regal blue to curious moggy, stroking actually encouraged just not picking up. You did have to watch for cats going for food but they easily get message with hand to block the way. Very comfy seats, loved the abundance of sofas. Also lots of cat artwork which we really enjoyed taking in too. Food equally first rate, good helpings, quality (not just thrown together) and good value too for what we got. Favourite was the chocolatey cake. To top it off lots of lovely souvenirs too. Only request is for 100% cotton clothing as daughter can't wear polyester, otherwise would have bought a hoody. Would thoroughily recommend to any cat lover wanting a great time out.

I visited with my partner this week, the food and drink were good. However there was just a weird vibe, the cats seemed very scared and untrusting. It became clear the reason why they were being this way, when we literally watched children throw toys at and chase the poor cats whilst staff and parents did nothing to intervene. I strongly believe there should be age limits or more rules around children in environments like this. It was a shame as I was really excited to visit. Turned out to be a very expensive disappointment… £16 for ‘welfare cost’ when it could be questioned how well the poor cats are being looked after if they’re allowing kids to lob plastic toys at them??

This place does amazing work with the animals that they rescue. They're a surprisingly large venue for the city centre. They have plenty of spaces for the cats to relax and get away from the customers and a trained cat welfare officer who frequently does walk-throughs. The staff are all very knowledgable in the cats and are always happy to take a moment to provide some information on each of the cats including their favourite places to pet. The food was varied and great for a brunch or light lunch!

Visited and only stayed for half the 1hr slot. It seemed to be full of kids who just followed round any cat they could sticking phones, toys whatever they could in the cats faces, following and chasing them round. Neither parents or staff bothered by this (staff just stayed gathered in the reception area) most of the cats had clearly had enough of it and were avoiding human contact at all cost. Smell from the cat litter tray was also apparent. Been to another cat cafe in Bristol (unassociated with this one completely), which was ran amazing and was a much more controlled environment in regards to kids, for the benefit of the cats etc!

Went to visit the kitty cafe in Nottingham there was 3 children and 3 adults, now the children have autism, asd, adhd. When we arrived we was greeted by staff who informed me that there is a charge £6 for children £8 for adult's as a little treat I thought why not we can get coffees and watch the cats play as we was visiting Nottingham for the weekend and I'm a huge cat lover. Now considering the children where wearing there disability badges, I paid the fee and we was shown to a table, now the children at this point where getting a bit over excited as children with adhd find it hard to process and get over over excited in situations. We felt that we needed to leave as we did not want to over stimulate them with all the excitement. We was no more then 5 minutes after a look around, then we left. When I enquired about getting a refund I was told that I needed to call the admin team. So I emailed them the receipts and pictures of the badges on the 6.10.24,got a response on the 10.10.24 asking how long was we in the cafe, did we get to order food and drinks no we did not. I then get an email to say they will not be refunding me the £42.00...now I read the t and cs on kitty cafe website and there is no mention if children with disabilities go for three, rather then pay £6 per child, incase they are to overwhelmed etc and have to leave. That's the annoying part the t and cs says make sure children are supervised but no mention of children with ASD/ADHD AUTISM can be over stimulating or over excited And no we did not use the facilities or get to order food or drinks.

This place is part of the Kitty cafe chain, but make no mistake that it is still unique in its cast of cats and an adorable bunch of furry friends they are. Located nice and in the center, it was easy to get to, with my booking process taking no longer than 5 minutes online, I went I'm for 11:00 to be greeted by friendly staff and of course some four legged friends. One of the highlights may be seeing the two sister kittens play fighting to disco music, aswell as Rosie (who's birthday it was) helping with important spread sheets by typing on the keyboard ⌨️. Over priced food. £8 PER PERSON PER HOUR. Cats avoid you or get hogged by other people. Food is cheap and overpriced. Literally paid £5 for a small hot chocolate and £5 for a slice of sickly sweet cake. The tea had half a cup if hot water in! Disgraceful. You get more at Gregg's. Staff are friendly. Toilets are dirty and need attention. Ruined experience by selfish people. Tourism for money. No one cares about the cats.

We had called by a few times previously for a drink and a bite of lunch when it was the Atlas, so we called by again for lunch. The immediate greeting was that there was a 20 minute wait for food (no hello), we went to order at the counter, but were told that the orders were now taken at the table, whilst the waitress came to our table in good time, the wait for the drinks was tedious, so tedious we considered leaving. The place was freezing, the front door was open all the time, everyone was sitting with coats and scarfs, it was like sitting in the garage with the freezer door left open. We saw so many people waiting for food, someone returning their food to the counter, that we decided just to wait for the hot drink (we were going to order food). We saw the tea bag (for one of our drinks) dropped on the floor and then put back on the saucer and served to us (we asked if we could swap it for a tea bag that hadn't been on the floor) - the waitress apologised, but come on this is basic hygiene surely staff should know not to do this? All in all, very, very average and not at all as we remembered when it was Atlas

Our afternoon tea was a gift from our daughter. The waitress was lovely and extremely attentive but the afternoon tea itself was very average. A selection of teas but all teabags! Afternoon tea usually consists of a selection of finger sandwiches and then homemade cakes. There were finger sandwiches but the fillings were very bland. There was a minute soggy pastry tart and a soup! The scones were good but very small and these are usually the centre piece of the tea but instead a slate filled with huge cakes was served. The almond tart didn’t taste of almond and the orange muffin was very heavy. Not nice at all. Have had far better.

Peacock is a great pub to go to, it has amazing staff and they are all so lovely (catlin, jess and Arron) and make you feel very welcomed as soon as you walk into the pub. The atmosphere is great to just chill with friends, and have a little play area in the back for kids to play around. The food is amazing too, well cooked and tastes delicious, the service is fast so you aren’t waiting long at all. Not a bad thing to say in general.
