Kitchen at the Wharf in South Somerset

My favourite coffee and cake stop, just love it here really tasty food and coffee is excellent. It's become my regular stop whilst cycling and there is a bike park too.

Lovely place to have lunch! Dog friendly which is super. Food was absolutely amazing and all freshly prepared. I have found a place that does a very nice caramel iced coffee. Would highly recommend booking as on a beautiful sunny day does get quite busy.

Costa coffee is Costa coffee, excellent.

First time for a year or so. I'm sorry to say the quality of food was not that good. The ploughmens was well below par. I had a sausage panini which had really thin slices in so could hardly taste the sausage. And they got my order wrong so my husband had nearly finished his meal before mine arrived. Very disappointed as we used to love this place.

Easy-going informal atmosphere. Really friendly. Nice outside area by the river with nooks out of the wind.

Thoroughly enjoyed lunch on Mother’s Day. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. Really good food portions, and a large variety of homemade cakes. The waitress and kitchen staff were very knowledgeable with allergies and were very accommodating to adjust their menu so my nephew could enjoy his lunch. Disable / Baby changing facilities available, large enough to have the pushchair in and space to move around. Looking forward to my next visit already.

I couldn't believe how great this place was. The food was ok for what it was but the service was excellent as well as the atmosphere. Dog allowed. Excellent after a long walk. We will be back!

Called last minute to book a table for breakfast, very accommodating. Very busy, but friendly, helpful service. Gluten free options and even a sausage for the dog! Tasty food, and good coffee 😊

Great dog friendly place, they even had a small dog menu! Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Would recommend arriving early if you want to have lunch or make reservations beforehand. We arrived at 11.30am on a Monday and managed to get one of the last free tables. When we left the whole place was full and people were waiting outside in a queue.

Good food, nice house salads. Easy place to eat. Parking is in the public car park down the road.

just driving around and wanted a stop for coffee and a snack till we went back home, we noticed 'the kitchen 'after we had passed it we said that looks interesting. so turned backI am disabled so have to find accessible places, so my wife parked up the car to do a reccy and found although busy there was a table and it was very accessible for my wheelchair. as we arrived at the table we were given menu's a few minutes another very pleasant waitress came up to us asking for our order for drinks and food. we were so impressed with the restaurant.and the staff. there was a delay in bringing the food and drinks to our table and we had to remind the staff we are still waiting, she was most apologetic and retrieved our order and put it through as urgent the order arrived within a few minutes and was cooked to perfection with more apologies, we were both asked after a couple of minutes whether our food was up to expectations, which it was.this is one of very few reviews I have done but all in all I cannot review highly enough and we will certainly visit the area again if only to visit the Kitchen at the Wharf. This is my go-to when meeting clients in Somerset. The food is always excellent, a wonderful, warm atmosphere whatever the time of year and the service is always good.

Visited on a very busy Sunday morning. Our server let us know there was a wait as they had recently seated a group of 10....Makes such a difference when you know 😀 Excellent veggie breakfast.

A relaxed open space with flexi dining tables and chairs and similar on Riverside 'courtyard '. Buzzy but not frenzy with bar/ coffee-bar. Fixed and specials menu, veggie options, great chef's salads. Could do with more service staff and more comfy chairs.

This place rocks in every way, I'm not even gonna start, super dope. However it's a flippin travesty it isn't open on the evenings, it has all the hallmarks of a destination restaurant for all the right reasons. It would easily be the best in South Somerset. And would be the twinkle in Langport's eye.

Thank you for the most memorable special Birthday Christmas afternoon tea. The afternoon tea was amazing, all selections, gluten free, vegetarian and normal. Delicious, plentiful and well presented. Staff were great and service was faultless. Would highly recommend and the special Birthday Cake simple excelled what was a very brilliant afternoon.

Very inaccessible, even on a motorcycle! Lots of space outside for us to stop, but they wouldn't let us use it. Much more welcoming at The Bridge on the other side of the river.

From the minute we walked in the door we were greeted by super staff, lovely food and atmosphere. I was worried about my vegan option having a bit of chilli in it as I am not a lover of heat in food and it was no problem for chef when asked by the waitress to give me a small sample to make sure it was not to hot for me and it wasn't! Our waitress that eve was brilliant, so attentive and making sure we were all ok without disturbing us too much which is a fine line to achieve and the actual meal was superb! My family and I would not hesitate to go back again and will do in the future, a great experience, thank you!

Had friends down from Surrey and following a rainy walk into Langport we popped in for lunch - a party of 4 adults 3 kids plus wet Labrador! We were lucky to get two tables together too! Service was first class, friendly and attentive. Everything seems a bit more more expensive at the moment - but the quality of the food was excellent and plentiful! It was a lovely experience, and we’ll definitely be back again and would happily recommend to anyone. A credit to Langport.

Had a cream tea, although they don't do it as package, you have to buy the drink, scones and cream and jam separately, which is a bit odd. Also no food menus, so you have to strain your neck hope your eye sight is good enough to see the board. However the food is delicious, the fruit scones were massive and very tasty and generous size teapot for two. Very busy so I guess popular with the locals in Langport. We only come across the cafe because we researched where to go for a good cream tea. Also available is outdoor seating by the river and dog friendly.

Visited recently and was totally put off my the staff petting a large dog who then went back serving customers with food and the small dog that barked non stop the whole time I was there. Great food but won't be back for the

Overly large portions made it unnecessarily expensive, although the food was very good. Service was good and staff were helpful and just attentive enough. Lovely atmosphere, eventhough it was quite a large place.

Got sat at a table where you can’t fit your legs underneath because our table was needed 30 minutes later

A very relaxed atmosphere pervades thanks to incredibly friendly and hard working staff. Our meal was exceptional. The grilled cheese sandwich was heavy from the weight of the cheese and that made it perfect for dunking in the flavoursome roasted tomato and basil soup. A great place to hang out, especially if you love dogs (allowed inside and out).

Nice place , good food, friendly, helpful staff. Nice location by the river with outdoor seating. Riverside walks nearby and not far from local shops.

Popped out a couple of weeks ago to the kitchen at the wharf in Langport with some members of my family, absolutely lovely experience and a place I will definitely be returning to soon, staff were extremely polite and friendly and the food was presented beautifully and tasted amazing and the whole place was quaint and rustic and it was a great place to spend time with family.

Had lunch with an old friend followed by a river trip - perfect

20 minute wait for weak watery coffee (worse than Costa, and that's saying something) mid morning Monday. Generous portion of delicious Brownie. Very nice indoor and outdoor seating, it might be me but it feels too corporate and expensive and doesn't hit all the high notes you would expect from the overall ambience.

First rate breakfast and coffee and just a lovely place to be with friends and family.

The food was very nice, and they offer water for the table. Staff were lovley and attentive. The only thing that's letting it down slightly is the spacing. We were very close the the next table so it was harder to hear eachother talking, it also meant we had a couple dogs coming over to us, we love them however if you're allergic isn't so amazing. If you're going with anyone with hearing issues it would be better to book and have a table out the way. Drinks were really nice, coffee is amazing.

Booked table for 1pm restaurant very busy. Lucky we were not on a deadline as our meal arrived 1:45pm. The chicken gyros was not as expected. Chicken was shredded and the French fries were wrapped in with the chicken and bread so were soggy.. The flavour fine but not Greek Gyros.!! Not sure if we would repeat the experience.

The food is lovely here. Nice sausages and bacon ( no cheapy stuff) poached eggs cooked nicely. Staff very nice. And u can bring a dog and u can buy him a sausage!

Busy busy busy, and that's because this is a little gem! A family run eatery served by attentive and enthusiastic staff. Lovely array of cakes at the counter and salads beautifully presented. A fabulous watering hole situated on the banks of the River Parrot.

A lovely place to stop for a relaxing lunch on the river. Staff are very welcoming and accommodating. Lots of choice on the daily specials menu. The fish finger sandwich is to die for!

Back again for a coffee and cake. That gluten free, dairy free polenta cherry and pistachio cake was absolutely devine! Thank you so much ladies and great service too. Although I do like my americano a little stronger, I will ask for a double shut next time. We will be back for lunch soon.

Solo cyclist fancied a pot of tea and a 'light' bite to eat. Ended up with an enormous pot of tea and two of their twists (on the cake area) had the fruit one that was stuffed with fruit and the cheese. Both served with proper butter. The greeting was lovely and having visited lots of tea shops this one is right up there. The twists were £4 each with butter, on the pricey side, but absolutely delicious, far better than a £2 dried out scone...Thankyou

Great place. Turned up on my own on my bike. They found me a nice table outside and the staff were great. There was a lot of great food on the specials board and was not sure what to have but they didn’t rush me, got me a drink and came when I was ready. Food was produced quick and I asked for crispy bacon and it was spot on. I had a panini as wanted something light but will be taking my family there for a bigger meal in the future. Great place, great value, great food and staff.

I had lunch here today with my daughter. There was a very welcoming atmosphere. My daughter is vegetarian and lactose intolerant and there were plenty of options for her to choose from. A member of staff, (I didn't catch his name), was very helpful and went through the options with her. The food was excellent and exceeded my expectations. I was hoping to have a piece of cake, as they all looked delicious, but I was too full. I will return soon to try one. I left feeling uplifted. Well worth a visit.

Overpriced, first ones in, yet had to wait an age for service. Will not use again. Langport is fast becoming a clicky centre for the entitled.

Danielle and her staff deliver a faultless service and a myriad of excellent drinks, food, and quick bites. It's definitely my favourite place to chill eat and grab a great coffee. Burgers and quiche to die for.

Called in on the spur of the moment at lunchtime and managed to get a table, but would recommend booking as most tables were reserved. Ordered burgers which were some of the best burgers we have ever had. Lattes arrived at a good temperature (a lot of places make them too hot and undrinkable) and a great taste

Took my daughter out for lunch during the Easter weekend. Could not fault it. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. Dannielle was very helpful and was able to cater fully for my daughters coeliac disease. It was worth the 40 mile round trip, thank you, we shall be back!

Cold not fault the choice on the menu. I had the quiche with a salad. The quiche was very nice, and fresh. The salad was excellent! The BEST Salad I have ever eaten ! All manner of things in it.

Great building in a lovely part of Somerset. But will not be coming to eat here again. Dirty glasses and cutlery. Limited drinks available from menu. Long wait for food and then incorrect order. Discrete complaint ignored and then responded to with rudeness.

Food was absolutely delicious. Excellent options for children too. They easily catered for all our dietary requirements (df and Gf). It was extremely busy so definitely book a table in advance! Staff were brilliant. The cake selection was amazing - will have to return to try!

Lovely food and lovely service.

The positives first! The coffee, food and help from staff were all excellent. However I'm fighting against a tidal wave of dogs first, humans second. I know the place is dog friendly BUT why are they not confined to one area. I have an allergy to dogs and despite being helpfully moved I was wheezing and sneezing within 15 minutes. Please think of your customers with animal allergies as well as you do for those with food allergies.
