Went today with my baby for brunch. I’d like to do a special shout out to the staff in the restaurant. The staff were amazing, they were all engaging with my little one and chatting away to her and made us feel so welcome and comfortable. Food was delicious!

A group of 4 of us went to the Adele tribute evening last night. The venue is lovely - it looked really special when we arrived. The staff here are very good - there was one young chap who didn’t seem to get the concept of carrying more than one item but I assume he was learning - he didn’t look very happy either sadly. Everyone else was kind, professional and friendly. The food was good, especially the vegetables that were just perfect and the panacotta desert was lovely. We arrived at around 6.50 and the act came on past 9 dinner was served about 8ish. However because of the acoustics everyone was shouting to make themselves heard over the tables and the noise was a bit overwhelming. Especially disappointing were the table of 4 at the back who shouted & screamed at each other during the dinner and while the act was singing . That ruined it for us as it was so intrusive. It is a lovely venue only spoiled by the actions of one group which the staff has no control over. I can imagine anyone booking a wedding or private party would be delighted.

First time visiting here today, don't actually know how it's taken us so long!! We were the first table in so service was prompt and very friendly. Husband ordered the full English which looked and tasted beautiful. I had the croque madame, served with a beautiful but unexpected side salad. Absolutely faultless, would definitely recommend. We will definitely return, so much choice on the menu and I literally wanted it all. Not the cheapest of meals, but quality is worth paying for. My husband is a very good chef himself and this place ticks his boxes too. Staff were great too, the place filled up quickly but service didn't falter. My only criticism is about the chairs. I understand wicker seats are hard to clean, but the crumbs gathered in the cracks wasn't pleasant to sit in.

Have been to Drewtons many times but admittedly not for a couple of years. Came for lunch today and was very disappointed that there was no longer any sandwiches on the menu apart from sausage or bacon sandwich from the all day breakfast menu or one from the specials list. When I asked if I could have a sandwich ( as they were available for the afternoon teas) I was told I could buy a sandwich from the shop !! I asked if I could have the hot sandwich from the special menu without chips and told it was possible but cost would be the same! So was disappointed as it was very limiting. Had lovely sandwiches her in the past but unfortunately I wont be coming again until sandwiches are available. Most staff were lovely and had a good laugh with one of the waiters. He is an asset to you

This popular food venue is easy to find and offers free parking. Both outside and inside seating is available plus there are a selection of picnic tables within the grounds for those wanting to take advantage of the well stocked on site farm shop. As a walk in, a warm welcome by front off house staff started our visit well and also provides them with a chance to warn customers of food service delays as it is very busy across peak times. In our case we were warned of a maximum 60 minute delay.... Food and drink orders taken as soon as you're ready and, to be fair, the food arrived within 30 minutes, fresh and well presented. Staff remain polite, friendly and professional at all times and the food is delicious. A well run and organised eatery with great staff and tasty dishes. Highly recommended

I was visiting very dear friends nearby for the weekend so we came here on their recommendation for a super 5 star Saturday brunch. 7 of us were greeted by the lovely Charlotte who was exemplary throughout our time there. We were looked after so well by her and is a real credit to your wonderful establishment. Drinks order taken first and for once a decent size pot of tea for 2! None of this mini fancy tea pot lark where you have to squeeze out a tea bag to get just a cup! Milk served in mini churns - touch of genius! Food was then served and every one of us polished off the lot! Top quality ingredients and presented so well indeed. Charlotte was on hand throughout to make sure everything was ok - and of course it was! I have raved about here ever since getting back to my Staffordshire base, so if any of my multiple friends head up this way I will despatch them here without any hesitation whatsoever! Top Draw!

We had a table booked for afternoon tea and we arrived 5 minutes early. We stood in the entrance and a number of the team members walked by said nothing in the end we said we have a table booked and she said the manager will be over in a minute so we waited eventually he came over and showed us to our table. We waited again eventually someone came over and asked if we had any allergies and asked what we would like to drink? She asked what was included in the after tea, she responded with tea coffee sorry wait a minute and went to do something at the counter she returned and said nothing, so we ordered a pot of tea. Out food came to be honest for afternoon teas it was average. But the biggest disappointment was the service and the fact that some ppl seemed to get the full service ie the next ppl who came in got told the full drinks menu. Then we had to sit and listen to them manager chastise one of the team for a mistake she had made on the till, this made us feel very uncomfortable atmosphere as he went on and on about. We ate some of the food drank the tea and left. We have also given direct feed to drewtons who haven’t responded.

Having eaten in the restaurant twice before we booked an afternoon tea with family. We were so disappointed. The food was very average, 4 finger sandwiches; soggy egg mayonnaise/cream cheese and cucumber unseasoned/coronation chicken and smoked salmon which was so thin it was tasteless. The wafer thin slice of sausage roll and tiny slice of quiche were tasty but the scones were so dry that evening jam and cream - not clotted cream - could make them better. The cakes were chocolate cake, orange chocolate eclair, Bakewell tart and tiny macaroons which looked pretty but had little taste. The biggest disappointment was that whilst we were eating our tea a gentleman I assume to be the Restaurant Manager came and sat at the next table and then proceeded to make a number of business telephone calls speaking very loudly, we actually had to stop our conversation because we couldn't hear each other over him. When we asked him if he could possibly go to an office to continue his business matters he got quite annoyed and made it clear we shouldn't have said anything. For this rather unpleasant experience we were charged £90.00! I emailed Drewton Estate and told them about our experience, they haven't even had the courtesy to respond. We will not return and sadly definitely won't recommend them.

Called on a Saturday afternoon for lunch, without having first booked, and we're accommodated without delay. Great array of choices on the menu. I had shashlik and my friend the Croque Monsieur. Although there was a bit of a wait - it was busy - but food arrived piping hot, and staff were courteous throughout. The pricepoint is quite reasonable, and interesting menu options. The adjoining farmshop requires a remortgage before purchasing, though.... Lovely meal, will revisit.

Terrible menu & expensive. Not one dish straight forward. Unless you eat anything don’t visit here as you will be disappointed. You cannot even get a basic sarnie (ham, beef, egg mayo..) & chips are extra at £5. Farm shops are generally more expensive but this is off scale. I bought Peter Yard crackers at Tesco over the weekend for £1.75. Here they cost £3.45. Greedy. Go to Fox & Coney centre of South Cave 2 minutes away. Better menu choice, value for money with nice ambiance & excellent service. Parking outside too for anyone with disability issues.

Came for lunch and after not booking, we were able to get a table. We ordered a hot beef ciabatta and a chicken club sandwich. The food was lovely and to a high standard, but seemed quite pricey for a lunch. The only problem we found with our visit was the speed of the service, which we have experienced on previous visits here. We waited a very long time for our food and drinks, despite the fact there seemed to be a lot of staff working. We were served by a few different people, but Vicky was amazing and brightened up the room and customers. She was the only one with a smile on her face the whole time! While Vicky was running around busy, other staff seemed quite miserable and not as eager to give customers a high level of service.Overall it was a good visit, but hopefully the speed of service will be improved.

Our first outing in 6 months to a restaurant - we booked afternoon tea as a family to celebrate a birthday. The food took almost an hour to come - we had children with us who really struggled as they were so hungry. Afternoon tea was very average - finger sandwiches were crispy so had obviously been left out for a while and the scone quite dry. I appreciate these are difficult times for restaurants but basic quality shouldn’t suffer. It’s a shame as I don’t think I’ll be going back.

My husband, daughter and myself visited the cafe today for a late lunch after a long walk (so we were starving!). The cafe wasn’t particularly busy and we were eventually seated and given menus. Then we waited. And waited. The young lady who seated us made it her mission to totally ignore us. She spent a great deal of time slowly clearing tables and then disappearing. My wife had eaten here before and thought it a good half way house to meet family from Hull and us near York. Very disappointing. Service was slow with excuses rather than solutions given for slow arrival of food, drinks and even glasses of tap water. Food when it arrived really wasn't worth the wait - particularly as it was so cold inside the restaurant that we all ate with our costs on. My wife couldn't eat her burger which was a solid lump of overcooked meat so it went back almost untouched. My hanging kebab included enormous chunks of chorizo with tough skin on so impossible to eat until removed. Overcooked pork as well. Our relatives both had a flan of some sort but were unable to identify any taste... The leading waitress was very apologetic and offered not to charge for the burger which is why the rating for service is average rather than the poor it otherwise deserved. But we definitely would not go back.

If we decide to go to Beverley we usually combine it with a trip to Drewtons for lunch. Its a popular venue but whilst they have some very pleasant waiting staff they need to do something about speeding up the kitchen output. Nearly 30 minutes to get simple starters such as soup (which was very good when it finally arrived) is about 15 minutes too long and then there was another delay to get the main courses. The pie crust was far too hard and my recollection is that the pie previously came with chips which is what I was expecting not a poor quality mashed potato on a poorly presented plate which was far too sloppy with a weak gravy swamping everything on the plate. Coffee was good quality. Todays experience whilst not bad was not as good as previously experienced.

A cafe and farm shop, the cafe we found had great service (very attentive) but over priced for a cafe; it was more restaurant prices. However generous portion sizes and homemade cakes.

As a family we paid a visit to Drewtons for lunch. The service we received from Jackie was fab, and the quality of the food we had was brilliant. We will be visiting again in the near future, thanks to all the staff at Drewtons , keep up the good work.

Had lunch at Drewton’s today as I often do when visiting South Cave. Although I hadn’t booked and they were very busy they found me a table immediately and I was served lunch and coffee to the usual high standard, with the minimum of fuss or delay. The chicken pie and veg hit the spot - perfectly cooked and presented - a proper ‘gravy dinner’. The cappuccino was tip top, and the service was first class. Waitress Kate deserves a special mention; today - as always - she was friendly and helpful, attentive without being intrusive, and calmly efficient despite a very high workload. Always smiling and with cheerful chat, her welcome epitomises good customer service. Many thanks to the Drewton’s team - I’ll be back!

We weren't disappointed and will definitely be visiting again - in fact, already booked in for the Good Friday event. The steak pie was one of the tastiest yet and the coffee was nice and strong. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed and the staff were very nice. A good touch was information about about upcoming events shown beneath the glass table top with a list of very tempting Gin and Tonics. Their website has lots of information too. Couldn't resist buying some cake on the way out for later :)

I have dined at Drewtons a handful of times in the past and not been overly impressed, finding the food and overpriced but following a recent lunch I have changed my mind. The menu is larger with more variation. I could have easily chosen three or four things from the menu!

Booked a special afternoon tea for 9 of us including one gluten free and was surprised to have to pay £50 deposit but did so. Unfortunately one of our party was unable to attend on the day and because she cancelled her place, we were not charged for it, which was excellent.

Just returned from drewtons where we have been a lot of late. Was told they were full and couldn’t accomadate so went for a look around in the shop only for the lady with red hair to run up to us and tell us they have a table. GREAT. I ordered the liver and my wife the turkey pie. Both were amazing. The staff were fantastic as always. I have read recent comments and would like to commend the manager who responded to Emma Claire’s comments which were horrendous towards a team of dedicated staff. I know none of these other than to chat in the shop or restaurant. Well done ladies and gents. Keep the good food flowing. PS GET THE MUSHROOM SOUP BACK ON.

Just popped in for some lunch all the staff were very accommodating and friendly with a lovely atmosphere. Food was fantastic especially. I had their famous all day breakfast and asked for the beans to be replaced by a hash brown even though this wasn’t on the menu they were very obliging and nothing was too much trouble for them. Really enjoyed our meal experience at Drewton’s. Well done

We have been coming to Drewton’s ever since it opened, my parents are residents of south cave and come often. The past couple of years there has been a notable decline in the service. The staff used to be friendly, happy and offered really good, caring service. After visiting Drewton’s today, that is it definitely not the case.

I have been coming to Drewton’s on and off ever since it opened. I have never had any major issues with the quality of the food or the service for that matter other than to complain about the inconsistency of the coffee. Drewton’s are blessed in a number of ways, not least being in such a prime location, dare I say it, close to where the money is.

Having visited and enjoyed meals previously, I wanted to take a friend to share the experience. I explained my allergies to the waitress, we waited 40mins for our meals to arrive, mine included the obvious allergy I had takem pains to explain. Profuse apologies however, after such a long wait I stated that I would not bother to eat, a very insistent waitress brought a replacement meal some 5 mins later.

I went with a group of friends who had been previously and enjoyed it. What a great recommendation it was! The chicken and avocado open sandwich was really tasty and fresh. We had a real variety of food from salads to scones and we all enjoyed what we had. One of the best things for me as a mum was how family friendly they were. We had 2 babies and a toddler in our party and they were all welcomed. Well worth a visit!

Couldn’t believe that they now ask if you have a reservation when you want to go in their cafe for breakfast. Food is always very good but service varies. Prices have now gone up faster than inflation since it first opened. Has become pretentious.

Well my wife has wanted to come here for the last few years on our wedding anniversary and finally we went today. Really disappointed. Staff friendly but hadn’t been sat down 20 seconds before they were asking if we wanted to order. Decided on a cappuccino so we could wait till 11.30 for the lunch menu to go live. We ordered a soup and sandwich combo. Soup was like warm at best so that went back and the sandwiches were on cheap shop bought bread which felt like it wasn’t fresh. Salad uninspired. We are up and left. We usually go to the balloon tree at Stamford bridge and left this place to go and have tea and scones to finish our meal. Sorry but wouldn’t return. £28.00 poor value imo. They say you get what you pay for. Clearly not always

Highly recommend the hot beef sandwich, caremalised onions and lovely fresh and crispy bread! This was tastier than the beef sandwich I had at The Ivy in York- honestly. Beautiful coffee, salads, cakes and the chips are divine. Definitely need to try the burger next time, looked gorge.

First time we have visited Drewtons restaurant,it won’t be the last. Wonderful views over beautiful country side. Very friendly staff, very clean, great service, We had to put our name down and wait for a table on the day we visited, seats are available while you wait or look around the shop as we did. Apparently it is advisable to book a table as it’s so popular. The shop is smaller than I expected. We didn’t have to wait very long before we were seated as we had already eaten lunch we ordered tea, coffee and cream scones which we would definitely recommend. Looking forward to our next visit

Past by many times and last week thought we would stop and have tea and cake ... food & drink in the shop looked interesting but expensive ... shown to a table in the cafe area and given menu ... and we sat ... and sat ... and sat ... staff seemed to forget all about us and were more interested in talking with other customers ... so we gave up in the end and left

We went on a quiet Sunday afternoon out of season because the previous review said they allowed the dog to go inside. I asked if we could take the pup in and sit out of the way in the corner. The lady said no sorry I don’t allow dogs in at all.

We had lunch at The Potting Shed with family. This was a return visit, and we think it’s the best garden centre restaurant in the area. Soup was carrot and coriander (delicious, could’ve eaten more!), sandwiches were very fresh, and the haddock and chips were delicious. Restaurant is very clean and well laid out, tables not too close together. I’m sure we’ll be back!
