Kismet Kebabs in Watford

Just moved one of our offices to Watford and ate here for the first time. Good choice on lunchtime menu and reasonably priced, We all had mixed kebab no complaints from us.

Went there for a family lunch with kids. Very unprofessional and rude staff. Never ever would recommend anyone to visit this dirty place. STAY OUT.

Standard Turkish kebab house. Seating is mediocre, tv screens good for footie fans. My kebab was a bit bland. Didn't go back

Ordered food on line. Selected food, placed order. Advised that would be just over an hour. We waited over the time stated at time of order. Food arrived, was cold. Items missing Loads of bread and nothing to dip it it! We have cold garlic mushrooms without any garlic dip. Cold falafel without hummus. We have undercooked hard potatos. The kebab tastes nice but it and the chips are cold. An extreme waste of money as most of the food is going in the bin!! Not happy customers! Question is ... was it hot when packed and delivery service let it down ? But then then some were missing bits?! Undercooked potato? Hmmmm .... you decide !?

Delicious foods, everything of menu is very very tasty. Favourite of chicken diner, Iskende, everything. The service is very kind and I'll visit again this place.

One of the worst kebabs I've ever had in watford and will not be using them again. Could taste cleaning products on the meat only good thing were the chips.

I visit local few times. My visit was either on weekend after party 🎶or take away home 🏡. Local is open till late 🌃. Hygiene rating 5. Food is good but at the same time cheap, also the portion are quite big. Enjoy 😉

I love love love this place! I don't get kebabs anywhere else. The guys are always so friendly and welcoming. The price was very cheap so I didn't expect great quality but i was wrong. The food is very fresh, comes quite quickly and definitely a good sized portion! I love how they give you complimentary bread when you use the restaurant. They're great for a lunch during the day and for a kebab after a night out haha. Menu has great choices and i would definitely recommend the halloumi wrap!

That said, I don't eat them a lot but thoroughly enjoyed dining at this establishment. Thoughtful additional touches; bread/dips whilst waiting for our mains, baklava to finish along with Turkish tea - all compliment of the eatablishment. And great price too..... 2 kebabs with all the trimmings and plenty of them, 2 soft drinks for £20.

I visited today and had the set lunch menu, excellent value for money and really good food. Definitely come again

The menu had lots of choice including many really good traditional Turkish starters and the kebab portions were generous and served fresh salad and good quality chicken cooked to perfection. Waitress was great and put up admirably with a family of downright evil tourists. Would definitely recommend.

It wasn't what I expected ! They did not have half of the things and they did not even inform as in the begging just after we paid ! Some of the people wants salad with the meal as well! Keep in mind please!

Used to live in Watford and used to go here all the time (to often really as the staff got to know us hahaha). When we are back in the UK we always take a detour to Watford just for a Kebab at Kismet.

Every time I've been here, the staff have been really friendly, all smiling. The food tastes great and they make the best cheesy chips in Watford!

I ate here last night and ordered a donner kebab wrap it was a good portion and they was very helpful but they hardly spoke English so it was hard to order and the meat was a little greasy

Changed hands recently, not so good now.Had a sit down meal, Donna meet looked old and was dried out, stiff and stone cold. Did complain but faced confrontation and apparent justification why Donna meet was cold. Also silly things like salt and pepper was in wrong pots, I kindly explain this to waitress and got the Easton European woman look of absolute horror for suggesting such a stupid thing lol

I have lived in Watford many years and I can confirm this is the best kebab house bar none in the area, Great staff, very friendly and helpful and quality food with great salad and sauces.

was in Watford on Saturday for the football and after the game me and my brother were hungry so we visited this Kebab shop and we both had a large doner Kebab and have to say was the best Kebab ive had in years the meat was lovely and the salad was very fresh this is how a Kebab should be I'm from Coventry and the Coventry Kebab House used to have Kebabs like this but sadly not anymore I would recommend any visiting Watford to go and eat at this Kebab shop you will not be disappointed

Visited here for a quick dinner before Rileys, what a great choice we made, we both ordered a chicken doner which arrived quickly and was presented superbly. The taste of the meal was great especially with the garlic mayo & hot chilli sauce, the standard of the meat was exceptional and wasn't like your standard kebab meat which at times is very greasy & fatty. I'm looking forward to returning very soon.

14 of us went here the other night. Such lovely people, very helpful, food was great and plenty of it, and they let us put our own music through the speakers so we could boogie away. Will be back!

Visited here quite late in the evening after a few drinks. It looks like a takeaway but don't be fooled, there is an amazing buzzy restaurant out back. The staff were friendly and the food was wonderful. Not a place for romantic couples but well worth a visit. Would definitely go back.

The food is tasty and the portions are generous.Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the manager catered for our needs pretty well.Love Turkish food and this is what we got.Food is good as a take away also.If you have a special request just make it you never know! Would prefer less salt but there again you can ask to have this adjusted.I have been going for 5 years now on-off and will not go anywhere else.

We have eaten here several times and every time has been fab! The salad is fresh, the chicken was very tasty and moist and the portions are large.

OK - firstly, it's a kebab shop with adjunct table service area so don't expect silver service, and in terms of kebab shop table service areas there are far far worse. The food - very good indeed, decent portions, fresh salad - I didn't even reach for the chili sauce so tasty was my dish. Good selection of wines - all one (cheap) price and generously served. I went for the house Turkish Red and wasn't disappointed whilst my partners Chianti was also very palatable. Service was excellent from when we walked in till paying and leaving. Bustlingly busy on a Saturday night with an amiable, shared joy, atmosphere.A gem.

My wife and I had never been to this place before, my wife’s friend kept recommending this place. So thought we would give it a try. We had the hummus to share for starters which came with this lovely soft bread yummy. Mains we had hallomi wrap and mixed typed kebab thing. Enjoyed the kebab thing lovely and moist and my wife enjoyed the hallomi wrap.The only thing my wife was not keen on was the smell as soon as you walk in. She is a strict vegetarian and the smells of meat cooking did put her slightly off. Friendly staff, very bubbly and attentive but not too in your face.Would we go again, probably yes?

I haven't gone in this place for two years . Recent visit confirmed why. Awful food , chewy dry chicken. Elastic kebab and hard dry bread. Salad was fresh however and customer service ain't too bad either. However the food highly rubbish.

Could not even finish the mixed kebab I bought today, it was way too salty, especially koftas! It had happened once before, so I know I won't have it again. Poor experience..........

It doesn't look like much from the outside and the decor is dated but the food is fabulous. The staff were very friendly. Everything very tasty and great value. Would go back if I was in town.

I've eaten here and also use it for take away, big portions so only order the large if you're really hungry! It's always fresh and tasty with a good selection to choose from. Staff are very friendly. It's a good choice and my favourite kebab house in Watford. The prices are reasonable too.

Stopping for lunch I ordered the lamb Shish, with rice. The starters are a plate of their Turkish salads, Humus (very delicious), carrot Tarator (grated carrots with garlic yoghurt), and Cacik (Yoghurt & Cucumber) and a basket of warm sliced pita bread - YUM.Everything is freshly cooked, so when the food comes it is piping hot, freshly prepared and just divine, I systematically inhaled as much as I could, I love the Mediterranean cooking style and the Kismet uses good ingredients.I have been back since and will return when i can, do not underestimate this little place, it's friendly, very clean and serves great Shish

Vist here quite a bit after Football or a night out.. Food is nice, yet quite pricey.. Sitting in is a good thing to try.. The atmosphere is good & the staff are smiling & helpful.. I would & have been back many times...

Theres deffinatly no better kebab place than kismet. Staff are absolutely fab and friendly and the kebabs are just perfect never go any were else. The only thing i would say is the seating area is very limited if your having a sit down meal and could do with more space.

The food is delicious- i come here at least 3 times a week. Good food if you're working out. Ask for the chicken donner with rice and chopped salad. Staff are really friendly! The portion sizes are huge and the price is really reasonable! You never have to wait long! You can eat in or take away.

I've been here three time after nights out. Sick twice and third time under cooked food. Staff are really friendly, can't fault them, but come on, under cooked food? Not good. Said I wouldn't go back after the first two incidents.school boy error. In bed feeling rough now, gave the food to the fox

simply the best kebabs and turkish food in watford very good prices and the best staff you will ever meet take away or restaurant the food is always spot on and i cannot speak highly enough of the guys who work there they seem to know everyone and are so happy its contagious i have used this place at least once a week for a couple of years and have never been disappointed the food is very healthy option for those training

i go here all the time, be it lunchtime, early evening or after a night on the tiles. It serves the best kebabs, burgers & chips if you want to take away and does fabulous Turkish food if you want to sit down in the small restaurant at the back. If you haven't had kismet......you haven't lived

The quality of kebab was excellent ,not the best i ever had but surely one of the best. Price for the food is relatively good.

I have had kebabs from here before but always a take away. Visited and sat in the back had a very lovely meal. We did the mixed starters and mains for 2 it was £19.99. Well worth he price every thing was cooked perfect and it came with salad, chips and rice. We even had a doggy bag to take home. Yum

By far the best quality food and top class service at kismet. Always smiling and up for a laugh, their homemade chilli sauce is highly recommended. Still yet to even experience their table service area (behind the cowboy style swinging doors)

Amazing kebabs often go to turkey and these guys match the quality of the kebabs out in turkey! They can cater to special requests very reasonable and you even get a plate of meze with flat bread to dip! Costs me £8 for a huge kebab half chips and half rice with salad and a drink which I think is fantastic.

We regularly eat in Kismet when we are in Watford, the kebabs and meat are always excellent, go for a mixed kebab with salad and rice, you will love and you will be full!

Been here a couple of times, never lets you down. do not expect the ritz if you are eating in but expect well cooked, Tasty food. nice friendly staff and great service. could not fault this place.

Been to kismet loads of times over the years, chicken shish is always good. But if you ask nicely they can also put the donar meat on the chargrill to make it crispy! Always fresh salad. And good chilli sauce. Ticks a lot of boxes!

Kismet Kebabs in Watford Junction is a great place for a simple, filling, and VERY good meal. It's most convenient when in WJ for attractions like Warner Bros. Harry Potter film studio tour. Prices are very reasonable; food is well prepared though not fancy. Certainly plenty of everything.Kismet appears to cater primarily to local trade but made we obviously American tourists feel very welcome. Staff was attentive without being overwhelming.

Can understand how, on a Fri/Sat night this 'glamour' strip in Watford would be described as 'tasty' for all the wrong reasons. This kebab joint could easily get misrepresented by a drunken doner crowed. But, behind the front, on a Monday night, you find a hidden gem of a restaurant.Mixed kebab with a side of Cacik was terrific. Delicious, tender, shish & doner, glistening with juices, serve with a zesty homemade chilli sauce fit for a Sultan. Delightfully Turkish. Heartily recommended.

Came here last night to have a quick kebab and ended up resorting to a Turkish Pizza, added garlic mayo sauce and it worked a treat! Service by staff was excellent and friendly, food was served quickly and was excellent! Loved it and will be back quicker than you think to have the special!

Ate here once while visiting Watford. The food was served hot and had good flavor and taste. Service was good and it only took a few minutes to get my order. Portion was very satisfying and would go again.

Probably one the safer options for late night food in Watford town centre... Regardless of level of inebriation. Amazing chicken kebabs and guys are always welcoming and ready with banter.

Arrived late Friday night may I add sober and in need of a quick bite to eat for the walk homeManhandled by the bouncer who probably assumed I was just another drunken teenager in nee of a sloppy drunken kebabBurger bun was half frozen, and cashier argued that I had not paid for a drink. Was not worth complaining due to the amount of drunken youths, perhaps I caught them at a bad time. Will only go back intoxicated!

I was in Watford for a week and ate here three times. The food is fresh and delicious and the staff was extremely friendly. Definitely stop in, you won't be disappointed!!

Food was absolutely delicious - The Donair was extraordinary. Such wonderful staff, the guys were really sweet and always catered to our needs. Felt like home.

Food was amazing! I had a special mix kebab with rice and it would of fed two people! I gave it a good go though. Staff were very friendly and the restaurant atmosphere reminded me of little places you visit on holiday. The take away at the opening of the shop was a bit of a put off but I'm glad I still went in... Quite possibly the nicest kebab I've ever had in the UK.

Great little restaurant, small but good. Lovely food, good service and very well priced. I'd be a regular if I lived in Watford. I had the lamb doner in a pitta bread, lots of nice dips and sauces, salad and chips. Couldn't ask for more. Very steady run of customers which is always a good sign. I'll get back some day!

The Turkish food is superb: kebabs, humous, taramasalata, halumi cheese, baklava, coffee etc. Not particularly good for Western dishes like scampi and burgers etc...I love taking my children to the small cafe at the back. Tasty food, substantial portions, low prices and excellent service!

Have been here numerous times and normally done at the back and eat chicken tau ok which comes with homemade spicy relish, generous fresh salad, and chips/rice. They alway throw in chillis, dips and pitta in as a free starter. I cannot fault this place and my husband loves it too, it is a cafe style restaurant at the back and is very clean, the staff are very attentive and always happy to offer a carafe of tap water as I don't drink many other drinks. Very well priced.

I have become a regular here. In my view in mirrors the local kebaab places in Turkey-save for the adaptation for the Western taste.I am not a fan of donner so have not tried theirs.I stock meal is the large lamb sish kebaab which is served with a generous portion of salad and chips or rice. The lamb is cooked perfectly and is the best I have ever had.Do not be fooled by the humble decor and the take away cum eatary set up. Have the lamb sish or lamb kofte. You will go back.

We had attended the plan B Carling gig on Saturday evening, great evening! When making our way back to the hotel in need of some supper. Purchased a medium chicken doner from fine chaps at the Kismet, slathered in garlic sauce and chilli sauce and pickled chillies. Went back to our lodgings for the evening and devoured it watching the end of M.o.t.d . My only regret was I did not go large and have chips as well !!!

excellent value , friendly and speedy service, food satisfactory.Meat tender and large portions of chips or rice with the kebabs. Pitta bread and houmous was delicious...... basic furnishings, no tablecloth but at this price great .

I regularly visit Kismet, about twice a month, especially with the family.The food and service is second to none, you even get free dips and pitta bread to start you off and they are great with the kids, very family friendly place. My little one will sit with their staff and they normally get him to help out with folding napkins or he chats to them whilst they treat him to free ice-cream, giving my wife and I a chance to talk knowing his a table near us being spoilt. I couldn't recommend this place more and Ive been going there for the best part of 3/4 years.

Iv been here many times with different friends, always impressed and great prices. You wouldn't expect it to be a restaurant from the outside but go in and try it out, friendly staff and quality kebabs. You even get some humous n pitta whilst they cook your food. Get stuffed for a tenner!

Disappointing under cooked burger and to call it a cheeseburger is an insult as they only use a single slice of wafer thin cheese, from Tesco value range I suggest!. Bypass and try somewhere else unless desperate. The salad was brown too! And the state of dress left something to be required - anyone know a good health inspector?

Looking from outside it does not really attract your eyes. It looks more like a simple fast food spot. But when you enter you immediatelly feel the difference.Very friendly and attentive staff, quick service, complimentary starter, fresh and tasty food.The only "lack" is that they serve just bottled beer in small ( half pint ) bottles. But this is more than compensated by the rest :-)Not really designed or addressed for the celebrations or family events but if you look for a quick, fresh and tasty lunch or a dinner at very reasonable price this is one of the best places in Watford

We were in the pub next door, drowning our sorrows after Watford lost the play-off final. Kismet wasn't planned - just convenient. Didn' t notice the dining area at the back at first. The first thing to remark upon was the rapid friendly service.Ordered a mixed lamb and chicken kebab. Given hummus, pitta and two great dipping sauces while we waited (complimentary)Food cooked within eyesight. Takeaway absolutely rammed with people placing orders but waited less than 10 minutes. So busy, you're in no danger if getting food that has been stood for ages. Rice fragrant and great consistencySalad clearly fresh and crunchyThe lamb kebab easily the best we have ever had ANYWHERE in the world. Juicy, pink, well seasoned... adored it and had to make a point of telling the staff the staff so.Next time we go to Watford (we do.... often), our choice of restaurant is a no-brainer.Don't be put off by the fact that this place looks like a bog-standard takeaway from the front. If that puts you off, you'll miss out on remarkable food

Anytime you are in need of a fill after several sherbs, The Kismet crew know how to give you what you need. Cracking selection of foreign bank notes stuck to the ceiling of this joint, and if you get in early enough you can have your delights served to you at a table just past a glass screen by a highly entertaining bunch of chaps ready to help out your hunger needs. Cracking place and never been disappointed...

I first visited this resturant/takeaway afew years ago with my husband and have been a regular customer ever since! The members of staff are excellent and willing to go out their way to make you fell comfortable! As there are only about 6 tables in the resturant area it adds to the family home feel which the staff create! Their takeaway service is also to a very high standard which we have come to expect of the resturant/takeaway!

Very good if you fancy a kebab, although has a selection of Turkish dishes. All good

The food and service are definitely better than you might think from the outside, and the restaurant has a license too. Does exactky what it says on the tin at a reasonable price.....
