Lovely pub, great service, plenty of choice on the menu. Reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit. Quite busy so maybe need to book

We are local and visit this pub frequently. The staff are always friendly. The menu has all the usual pub gems and all are served well and top notch. I had the lunch fish ciabatta which was awesome. Keep up the good work Kinleith, see you soon.

Nice pub grub menu, called in on a Friday night without booking ahead so had our meal in the beer garden. Decent sized portions but my battered fish was placed over the chips which made it a bit greasy. Good pint of Tennents according to my other half. Nice to be in a busy pub with a bit of atmosphere. Friendly staff who had a bit of go about them & a sense of humour!

Very disappointing food. The chicken goujons were practically gristle with a powdery crust that was undercooked. Also ordered rosemary and garlic foccacia and buttery garlic bread was brought with no acknowledgment it would be different. Both had to be sent back. The other meals my friends had didn’t need sent back, but no one really enjoyed their meal. What a shame! This used to be an excellent place to eat.

A regular haunt when we visit the area and I love the Scottish banter, atmosphere and food. The range of drinks carried is first class and it was a great advert for Scotland. Note the past tense!!! How any Scottish pub can carry a great range of malt whiskies then advertise them as Whiskey!! Any Scot worth their heritage would have apoplectic fit and I am sure Robert the Bruce, William Wallace and Rob Roy would all be turning in their graves at such a sacrilege. Just thank your lucky stars that Nicola Sturgeon doesn't call in, there would be ructions. Seriously, how any Scottish Licenced premises can allow Whisky to be called whiskey is beyond me and a real disappointment. When I read some of the negative comments of recent times, I wonder if this pub has been taken over by a sassenach or an Irishman/woman. C'mon Kinleith, get that drinks menu changed pronto.

What has happened to this place? It used to provide decent pub food but this time it was terrible. We ordered the spicy bean burger and a macaroni. The burger was so dry with very little in the way of taste as described in the menu. The bun also seemed a bit cold and sad. The macaroni however was really strange and had a weird vinegar taste. No idea how they managed to get macaroni wrong I hope the food improves as there isn't a stack of nice places to eat locally. The bar was clean and staff nice as always.

Very very poor effort for dinner this evening. Great it disappointed and zero effort to even acknowledge how poor the food was by the staff. Will always still come here for a drink but will never eat here again, the riccarton in Currie which is the sister pub to this is light years ahead. waste of money and greatly disappointed aswell as still hungry. Please see below by daughters chicken burger and the mash on my plate was meant to be ‘creamy mash’ it was actually crispy and was a microwave mash, Never usually complain but this was awful. Many other unhappy unhappy customers eating around us too. One gentleman handing back his fish. Don’t eat here

The genuine charm of our server/bartender elevated our 'pub lunch' experience to a more memorable level. Amy's infectious charm and positivity ensured we felt welcomed customers & that nothing was a bother. An excellent hostess and credit to the hospitality industry. Glad to see smaller portion options, fish and scampi were particulary tasty, steak pie, reported as 'ok' by son. Nice local pub to enjoy a bite with family/friends.

Evening meal after long day. Food decent - old fashioned pub grub. Food arrived in good time, but we might have been last order as stops serving at 7pm. Only shame was two plates had very wilted salad leaves, which waitress said she would not have eaten, but was happy to give to paying customers - not the best answer one feels …. Great selection of beers. Will be back, probably, but next time, food will get sent back to kitchen if poor quality.

We booked to come here for dinner, after a 10 mile hike during the day. We had a look at the menu online, and it looked good, therefore we called to book a table. Booking over the phone was easy enough, with the call answered quickly, and confirmed that this was a dog-friendly pub. Upon arrival, we were placed in a bar area, with space for our dogs. We ordered drinks which came rapidly. Alas, the food on the menu on their website is not the same as the menu they gave us in the restaurant - the restaurant menu was more limited! Both my hubby and I had decided what to have prior to coming to the restaurant, but had to change when seeing the restaurant menu. In the end, I had the salmon fillet and fish cakes, and he had the steak and ale pie. All our food was cooked alright, with the fish cakes filled with more potato than fish (therefore more stodgey), and my husband was not impressed with the pie either. All in all, food was average, service was quick enough (we were in and out within 1.5 hrs), and it was dog-friendly.

A nice pub with decent pub food menu and good kids offer. Service was VERY slow however. We’ve been a couple of times before so maybe it was because it was Mother’s Day but it wasn’t that busy and we still waited over an hour for our food. Had to remind them 3 times for the dessert and twice for the bill. Far too long to wait really spoilt what should have been a nice relaxed lunch.

Went to the beer garden yesterday was really good I had the small natchos I couldn't Finnish it as I have a small appetite but they were lovely, definitely be going back for food xxx

Booked the outside covered area as we felt it would be safer for my 94 year old father. The staff were attentive and brought my dad a small taste of one of the ales on offer. The food was delicious and well priced, ‘best fish I’ve had in ages 10/10’ was my dad’s comment. The adjacent garden area looked comfortable too.

The four of us went for dinner which was absolutely spot on! Wine list, cocktail and food menu had lots of choice. Prices were great. What made this restaurant extra special was the staff. The waitress that served us was soooo funny and very helpful. I will definitely be back

I had lunch with a friend at the Kinleith today ,fish and chips never tasted so good!We sat outside and shared a bottle of wine,it was chilly but we didnt care.Thank you Liam for looking after us,see you next week!

Visited last week for lunch. Not too busy when we arrived but gradually got busier. However throughout the 2 1/2 hours we were there, one very capable lady did everything but cook. It did mean a bit of a wait but we weren’t in a hurry. Some grumbling from the adjacent table suggested the elderly folks there had somewhere else to be but I think they had nothing better to do than complain!Food was pretty good. Small portions of lasagne and fish and chips were soon gone. The sea bass looked a bit the worse for perhaps sitting under the heat a bit too long before being served, but was eaten without complaint. The chicken goujons were massive and apparently excellent.We all managed deserts, which we were ready for, mostly due to the time we’d been there, but they were all good.Wouldn’t rush back but wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the food and the very hard working lady who managed to take orders, serve food and drink and clear tables, all by herself.

Been here many times to eat with family, all round great experience Food delicious and not to expensive Staff very kind and helpful Inside and garden lovely to enjoy your meal. Look forward to visiting again soon

Hola, no suelo ser un póster de TripAdvisor, pero fui testigo del intercambio entre el personal y el crítico anterior con un anuncio de que estaba dejando una reseña aquí. Está bastante lejos de ser exacto: el personal le pidió cortésmente al caballero que no se parara en el bar y le preguntó si iba a tomar algo o comer y, por lo tanto, le gustaría que se abriera una pestaña. Good value and pleasant pub/restaurant, family friendly. Very much enjoyed my Cajun chicken burger. Specials looked good too. Service could have come with a smile though.

Este lugar fue genial. Fuimos a almorzar un sábado y no estaba demasiado ocupado, pero lo suficientemente ocupado como para que tuviera un ambiente.El personal fue amable y eficiente. Las bebidas llegaron rápidamente y la comida tardó el tiempo perfecto en llegar (15 minutos).Tuve una hamburguesa: la carne estaba cocinada a la perfección y había una generosa cantidad de ensalada dentro. Pude actualizar papas fritas por chips gruesos adecuados sin cargo, lo cual fue ideal.Hay un aparcamiento en el lugar para facilitar el acceso.Este no es el lugar más barato pero está dentro de los límites aceptables para la calidad de la comida y el servicio.Completamente recomendado.

following a closure due to necessary maintenance we wanted to revisit to check if the quality had changed.....and we were not disappointed .We called in for fish and chips......superb.Quality of fish and perfectly cooked chips were the order of the day, brilliant.Great to have you back in business........Well worth a visit....but book!

He visitado aquí un par de veces, pero esta fue la primera desde la renovación. Mis visitas anteriores al Kinleith Arms encontraron un pub lúgubre que no era particularmente atractivo. Desde entonces ha sido restaurado y ahora es el Molino Kinleith y es mucho mejor para él. Se ha transformado en un pub luminoso y acogedor y es un lugar agradable para estar. Mi reciente visita fue con mi familia para almorzar y todos lo disfrutamos. Nos sorprendió gratamente la calidad de la comida y el ambiente. ¡Normalmente no habría considerado visitar Kinleith Arms, pero definitivamente consideraría otra visita al Kinleith Mill!

Fui a tomar una copa antes de la cena antes de la prueba de pub que se anunciaba en las redes sociales y decía "nos vemos allí". Primero fui al bar a tomar una copa y el personal del bar estaba charlando en la parte de atrás del bar. Una niña me vio pero siguió hablando. . . finalmente decidieron servirme después de unos 3 minutos y tomaron mi pedido.Luego buscamos un asiento. Había una mesa que no tenía señal de reserva, así que nos sentamos en ella. 5 minutos después de sentarse, la niña se acercó y dijo que había una señal de mesa reservada en esta mesa y miró a su alrededor como si la hubiéramos movido. No había ningún cartel reservado en la mesa, así que claramente alguien se había olvidado de ponerlo. Muy mala actitud y ninguna disculpa, ya que parecía que ella pensaba que lo habíamos movido.Buscamos otro asiento incluso en el bar, pero no había ninguno, así que tuvimos que pararnos en la esquina trasera para terminar nuestras bebidas. ¿Por qué invitar a las personas a una noche de preguntas en línea y luego tener todo el pub con mesas reservadas para la cena?En general, mucho personal y sin interés en ofrecer un buen servicio. Pastel de carne y cerveza encantador servido con papas fritas o puré, todos lo tuvimos. Los postres se veían encantadores, pero no cabíamos en uno. Buena selección de bebidas y excelente servicio al cliente, literalmente habíamos puesto el vaso vacío sobre la mesa y nos preguntaron si queríamos una recarga. Bonito lugar ha sido un par de veces y siempre ha sido un pub agradable y amigable, también se admiten perros. Vale la pena una visita.

Visit here often when in Currie. The food is excellent, prices very good and the atmosphere friendly.This time for starters we shared Haggis Bon Bons, duck spring rolls and deep fried mozzarella sticks. All were superb with the 3 dishes amply feeding 5 adults.Mains included carrot, falafel mint burger; White bean, coconut, sweet potato stew; Chicken Cajun burger and Scampi. Being head TA reviewer, I got to try them all and they were excellent.My daughter is breastfeeding my grand-daughter who has a minor dietary allergy. This means daughter has to be careful what she eats. The staff were excellent and when asked about ingredients, a visit to the kitchen saw them bringing out a list of suitable menu dishes which was a real plus point for the restaurant.A certain return, next time we are visiting.

Estaba hoy en el Molino Kinleith (29 de abril) para almorzar con 2 amigos. Tuve la pequeña porción de queso Mac 'n con papas fritas (no era tan pequeña) y todos mis amigos comieron la sopa del día (calabacín, guisante y albahaca) con un pan plano. Todos pensamos que la comida era excelente y tengo que decir que la mía fue increíble! ¡Volveremos pronto!

We ate dinner there twice during our 4 days in Edinburgh - it was close to the Courtyard West Marriott! Delicious food and friendly service in a building with a lot of charm.

Qué excelente primera visita al Molino Kinleith. Todo el personal era muy atento, acogedor y muy amable. La comida estaba bien presentada, cada plato se servía fresco y caliente, y también un espacio agradable entre los cursos. El postre también era rico y sabroso. Gran servicio atento por parte de todo el personal y fue con todos los huéspedes y clientes que estaban allí, ya que estaba bastante ocupado para un lunes por la noche con algunas mesas reservadas, pero no había prisa en absoluto para que cualquiera pueda irse. La excelente experiencia no puede esperar a volver. El menú tiene una gran variedad de opciones para cada curso. Gracias equipo Kinleith Mill.

The worst burger ever! Everything was from frozen food including the roll. Overlooked and no taste what so ever

Lovely local pub, friendly staff, comfortable seating/tables. Big TV for sport but doesn’t dominate the room. Pub Quiz on Thursdays are well attended and good fun. Food is really good pub grub classics - beautiful battered/breaded fish, scampi, pulled pork burgers, salads, veggie items, and a lovely Steak Pie. The venison wellington was well cooked but portion size small. Overall, great wee local!

Just had an amazing meal at the kinleith mill with my partner. All three courses were lovely, especially the venison wellington main. Great service and lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Nos encontramos con miembros de la familia en este lugar, ya que era muy conveniente para mis tíos que tienen problemas de movilidad. El menú del almuerzo fue variado con una buena opción disponible. Mi marido y yo teníamos sándwiches tostados que eran grandes y gruesas rebanadas de pan, llenas. Se sirvieron con una ensalada pequeña con la posibilidad de pedir sopas o patatas fritas para 1. 75. Todos los demás tenían una variedad de platos principales, pastel de carne, chile con carne, pollo supremo, gambas, etc. Cada plato estaba despejado y eso siempre es una buena señal. Tomó un tiempo para que se sirviera la comida, pero éramos 9 y muchos otros comensales. La camarera fue muy útil. Sin duda volveremos si estuviéramos en la zona.

Es el más hermoso pub al oeste de Edimburgo ❤ ️ la decoración y tiene mucho espacio para las reservas. El personal es gente abundante y adecuada super agradable. Hay asientos al aire libre, un jardín y aparcamiento. Todo el mundo que está aquí como sus locales son también muy amable así que deja por si te apetece una bebida o comida salimos del centro de la ciudad

Otra visita de almuerzo con la familia. La camarera era muy agradable y super eficiente, nada nos preguntamos si era demasiado problema. El Mac y el queso es simplemente la mejor vuelta y tuve la suprema de pollo que estaba delicioso. Parecía buena en el menú, pero la comida real superó nuestras expectativas. Tenía morcilla negra en el medio, y la salsa cremosa de champiñones y puré de patatas. Sin duda que de nuevo. En general, es difícil ser crítico cuando todo fuimos a la derecha. Continuaremos a volver.

Normalmente vamos aquí para el almuerzo una vez a la semana como nos encanta la comida aquí. El Macaroni es un favorito personal. Es muy sabroso, a diferencia de un montón de otros lugares que pueda ir tan mal. El personal es encantador y aún así nos conocen de visitar regularmente. La señora que normalmente trata con nosotros incluso sabe mi pedido y tan bonitas.

Cortado de un bocado. Una selección razonable estaba en oferta y tuve el sobresaliente. Un poco duro y carente de sabor. La pequeña ensalada de cebolla ayudó, pero más hubiera sido mejor. La comida no llega rápidamente y el personal era muy agradable. Para un rápido almuerzo precios razonables sin tonterías fue bien pero no excepcional.

Aunque como en todos los locales con licencia en estos días, este pub tiene comida que hemos disfrutado en el pasado, esta visita era puramente para las bebidas.

Como familia, hemos estado aquí a menudo. La comida es muy buena y a un precio razonable. El personal es siempre amable y en general el servicio es bueno. En esta ocasión, fue un viernes por la noche - éramos un grupo de 14 y el pub estaba lleno tanto para comidas y bebidas. Aunque la comida era todavía muy buena, el personal era obviamente bajo presión - nuestros platos principales eran un poco inconexo en saliendo y 3 veces nos ofrecieron una comida que pertenecieron a otra mesa! Aún así tuvimos una velada encantadora y sin duda volveremos.

Wir hatten thailändische Suppe, Scottish eggs, Burger sowie Fish and Chips. Sehr freundlicher Service. Top Stimmung. Gern irgendwann mal wieder.

Called in advance, looking for a dog friendly place to eat, after a long walk in the Pentlands! The lady on the phone promised to keep a table for us, we arrived with our Labrador to a warm welcome! Food was lovely and very quick - Mac & Cheese was delicious & my friend highly recommended the cous cous and Halloumi salad as a veggie option ! Nice pub with a varied menu and friendly staff

Have been here on a few occasions and it's the perfect place to go for pub food whilst being surrounded by a nice atmosphere. Always plenty of choice for what to choice and all at a good price!

Visited Kinleith Mill for a meal and drink. The service was first class anf the food excellent. First time back since refurbishment. Certainly recommend this place.

This is our local and it's honestly fab, such a fab atmosphere and great big portions of food! Some lass complained on her review that she was forced to eat steak pie despite being veggie, don't worry folks the staff aren't ogres IV never been...

Informed the obnoxious manager I am in fact a vegetarian, despite this I was forced to eat steak pie. The food was cold and tasted off. When complaining the manager hit me with a load of verbal abuse, to top off my horrible experience there...

Popped in when passing and hungry - poached eggs were very vinegary but liked the look of the lunch menu and tables around us had lunch dishes which looked lovely so would like to come back for a pub lunch. Nice atmosphere.

Dropped in here for the first time for a while, and we were pleasantly surprised at the improvements and service and food. We had the soup (a bit spicy, but nice), sandwich and Sea bass, all delicious and with great service. we enjoyed it so...

Visited the pub today and opted for the new breakfast menu which was delicious!I had the full breakfast,another friend had eggs Benedict and another fish and chips,all washed down with wine,well it was Sunday!The pub was quiet when we arrived but soon filled up and we were glad we had reserved a table.The Kinleith Mill never disappoints,good food,friendly staff and lovely atmosphere.

Visited with family for an evening meal as we were staying close by. The pub had a nice atmosphere and it looked liked it had been recently re-decorated. Staff were friendly and the menu is your typical pub food. The food itself was tasty and good value for money and for the child we ordered the macaroni cheese which was very nice.

We went to the Kinleith today for a family celebration. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. We booked and it was quite busy as it was Friday night. The kids enjoyed their scampi and chips, I had a large macaroni and chips which was lovely and my husband had the steak sandwich which he enjoyed. All in all a great meal!

Probably 6 months since we were last here, but we have always had great food, good pricing and nice atmosphere. Two out of three this time. It was very busy (a good sign), and our order was taken quickly, although it was about 35 minutes before our food arrived. Had we know this we would perhaps have tried somewhere else. In any case, I had gammon steak, my wife had chicken burger. When food arrived, there was a small burnt bit on the burger, but mine looked fine. That was until I started to eat and moved the egg off the gammon which showed all the edges and a bit more central, black and cremated. Unfortunately inedible, and certainly not up to usual standard. We spoke to the waiter and he immediately offered replacement, however that was going to take another ten minutes, and we felt we had waited enough. He took the gammon off the bill, but it was more important for me to have nice food when I was hungry and not leave wanting more. I suspect because it was so busy, this caused the issue, and I would normally rate this place 4 or 5. I feel a bit bad in my low rating, in that this is the first time we have had inedible food here, but I guess any place is only as good as the last visit. It did seem that something has changed in the kitchen though, I am certain on previous visits, the food would not have got out the kitchen the way it was.

Went here on sat 27th May on way back from st andrews must say I've not been here for a few years but the place is really welcoming and friendly the staff are really friendly and the food was delicious.tgank you

we were a bit late, afer 8pm, but we were allowed to order a late dinner. This was good basic food - haddock & chips and a dahl curry dish - tasty and just what we needed. We watshed the footy, then got into the pub quiz, which we werent expecting, so we stayed quite late. Good pub atmosphere. Recommended.

We visited for an early Mothers Day treat. The pub was very busy but the staff couldn't have been more helpful even though we were early. The food was lovely, kids and grand parents all catered for and the seafood linguine was excellent. Can't wait to go back.

Delightful roast lamb followed by lemon mousse with raspberry coulis.I was concerned that service would be slow as it was Mothers Day but this was not the case,the staff were friendly and not in the least pushy.

A disappointing experience if I'm honest. Had been looking forward to a roast dinner but it was distinctly average and took ages to arrive. Potatoes were like Aunty Bessies and whilst the meat and gravy were tasty, it was pretty tough. Such a shame as this place could do so well with all the walkers passing by on a Sunday after a trip to the Pentlands. Hopefully, things will improve.

Having eaten a few times at this place in the past but before it had been done up5 of us Went for an afternoon lunch here.The Service very slow and when the food arrived it was cold..The chips were cold onion rings over cooked & cold.The steak over cooked and the veg was cold.We sent the onion ring back and new hot & fresh ones arrived towards the end of the meal.We had waited so long for the meal and we were hungry. No one asked if the meal was ok during the meal or at the end of it.There was only two members of staff that seemed to be doing the bar and the restaurant.Over all shocking and over rated food. We won't be back

Une partie pub, assez bruyante le soir et une partie restaurant qui sera forcément également bruyante du fait de la proximité du bar. Nous y avons passé une soirée côté bar : typique et sympathique, cependant comme je ne connaissais pas les marques de bières c'est un peu compliqué pour commander... Nous y sommes retourné pour déjeuner le midi : très calme, service impeccable et du choix. Cependant j'ai été déçue par le burger maison qui était une vraie "semelle". Les autres plats OK

This place really seems hit or miss! I've been here some days when the service is really good and the food is of good quality and others where it isn't. On my last visit here unfortunately it took nearly 1hr 30 for our food to come and it was mediocre at best! This has put me off returning as there are nicer cheaper options with better service close by!

Lunch menu not exhaustive. Chose the Ale Steak Pie and Beer Battered Fish. The meat in the pie was chewy and puff pastry flat. Carrots that went with the dish very under cooked. Peas not very interestjng. Whereas the fish was good. Atmosphere good and surroundings welcoming.

After a walk around the reservoirs, 4 adults and a 4yr old booked in for lunch. There isn't a huge amount of parking on site, but we were very happy to see the inside decor (looks nicer than the pictures to be honest). Lots of space, nice deorations for christmas, VERY friendly staff, particularly the bar man. Food was great, and although it wasn't super fast, it came just at the right time. Prices are cheaper than Edinburgh central too, which is a bonus.

We met here with family for a brief hello during their travels (also visiting nearby cemetery) the food and service was very good and I would definitely recommend. The pub was busy but not noisy. Go along and enjoy

I eat here on a regular basis and am never disappointed as the food and service is very good. Fish and chips is my favourite and occasionally sirloin steak. Last week after a Water of Leith walk with my young grand children we popped in for a meal. The staff were excellent with the children and an enjoyable meal was had by one and all. Thanks to all the staff for their attention to detail.Super family village pub.

I can believe how bad this place was! I am local Juniper Green resident and I was disgusted and angry about the service received here! I took my two children from school and the first thing I would say is that it's not suitable for children as the toilets are filthy! We ordered at 1700 and after nearly an hour and several tables being served that had arrived later than us this is I asked how long it would take as my kids were getting agitated. I was told that they were 'playing up'. A further ten minutes passed and we were given another poor reason, it was 'the type of food we had ordered'.It became clear that they had mad an error and rather than apologising they lied and didn't apologise.I left and went to ' Al Borgo' who do know how to treat their customers.If you are after a good family meal DO NOT go to the Kinleith!

Great local place to eat and meet up.Good food, very friendly & efficient staff, cosy homely feeling which made our night even better. Thank you (group of 15 from HWU for dinner Thursday 1st Dec '16)

My wife and I visited on a rare weekday off together. Convenient with plenty of parking. Prompt and friendly welcome with limited seating. Some tables reserved so maybe an idea to book. Menu choice not huge but size options available for smaller appetites. Service friendly, attentive and prompt. Food arrived in good time.Portions average sized. Once I had removed the salad (as I didn't like the dressing) from my plate, the scampi and chips looked a little lost! My wife's chicken strips were adequate but a little bland. The chips were fresh but the scampi could have done with a few extra minutes to brown up a little.We would maybe go back again, give it a try!

Booked a table for nine adults for lunch which they could happily accommodate, despite having another large family group in celebrating a birthday. The menu was fairly impressive for what is slightly upmarket pub fare. Starters of black pudding and bacon salad with poached egg went down well, as did the haggis fritters. Stroganoff, fish and pies all went down well with the company too. However, having two large parties in at the same time along with a few couples eating in the bar area seemed a bit much for the serving staff. Young waitress was quite friendly but the others could benefit from a course in social interaction. Messed up one starter, which they sorted and brought out a bit later once others had been eaten, then brought out a starter portion of Cullen Skink which should have been a main, and not brought out at the same time as someone has just got their starter !! There was little in the way of smiles or pleasantries and the service seemed extremely slow, I have a degree of sympathy for them as they seemed maybe slightly understaffed, though we were served by five different people during the course of the meal !! Will happily go back as the food was really good and decent portions - hopefully the serving staff will be on better form. Have had numerous lunches here in the past and the service has usually been excellent, so maybe just an off day.

Popped in to kinleith mill yesterday evening following a walk. Our plan had been to have a drink and a relax then order from menu and share a bottle of wine. Were told when ordering first drink that we would need to order quickly as they had 2 large booking expected in soon...fair enough we thought! Service from waitress was borderline rude, did not reply to me when I thanked her for setting table and her facial expressions indicated that she would rather be doing something else. Meals were average at best, fish was evidently frozen, as were the chips. 1 couple were turned away whilst we were there although 5 mins later another couple were 'allowed' to sit and order, there was plenty of space but clearly these '2 large parties' were too much for the staff to cope with, both staff members on front of house looked very stressed and the atmosphere was very unpleasant so we left promptly. Shame as the place is very local to us and won't be in a hurry to return.

Delightful lunch at the Kinleith today.Chicken salad with roasted butternut squash,goats cheese,lime and coriander.The combination worked really well.The staff are friendly and welcoming and prices are reasonable.

Went for lunch, the food was really nice and well priced, the only problem was the whole pub was stinking of grease, to the point where you could see the air getting thicker with smoke, the people next to us said how smelly it was. I suggested to the waiter that they could do with investing in an extractor fan which he said had broken, get it fixed ASAP, we left there with out clothes stinking if grease. Again, I definitely recommend their food, the scampi was gorgeous and decent portions. We will be back.

I was here yesterday with family - it's a lovely looking pub and is definitely a huge improvement from the interior it had previously. I had Nachos and Macaroni while there - they were really nice and the portion of Macaroni was huuuuge! I actually let everyone else on the table try/eat it as it was so big - there is an option to order a smaller portion if you want to. Although the food was good - the service really wasn't. I think there were only 2 people on in the bar and getting the food and the pub was quite busy. Due to this the wait times were extremely long, when we first went in it took them ages to come and take the order, it took ages to arrive and parts arrived at different times, they didn't come back to ask if everything was OK or if we needed more drinks, usually we had to keep catching them on the way past if we needed something. I believe we waited around 50-60 mins for some Macaroni and cheese on chips to arrive at the table - at one point i actually forgot that I'd ordered it. We also had to ask at the bar for the table to be cleared. Sometimes places can have bad days service wise and it was only bad due to it being so slow - the staff were not rude or unapproachable. I'd definitely go back (due to the food being nice and it being a nice bar) sometime but I'm hoping when I do, it's not so slow.

Working in the area and had accommodation just down the road. First pub we came to so we thought we would give it a try. Didn't bother going anywhere else for the rest of the week as the menu was that good!Excellent food, service and frendly staff. We will certainly eat there again if we are in the area.

The food was ok. My friend had the pulled chilli pork which was nice but there portion was far too small. I had the chicken burger which was nice but only came with chips. No salad or any other green side. The service is pretty bad though. Not sure i would go back in a hurry.

This is a nice neighbourhood pub, which provided a welcome respite during our day walking along the Water of Leith. The Kinleith Mill is immediately visible as one steps off the riverside path, and it was great to see people enjoying a cider in the sun. We decided to sit inside as we wanted to eat as well as drink. We were a group of four friends, and were quickly attended to by the friendly bartender. We all ordered a sandwich with chips, and a selection of pints to wash it down.Pints were cold and refreshing, really nice, if a little expensive. Sandwiches all tasted good too. High quality ingredients, good value, and a nice atmosphere in which to enjoy them.The place was busy on this Saturday afternoon, with plenty of regulars sitting at the bar with their drinks, but also plenty of people in for lunch. It's easy to see why, with the friendly atmosphere and the nice food on offer.I'm not sure how often I'll be out this way, but I'll definitely pop in again if I'm around. Recommended.

Visited the Kinleith Mill again, having had a very good experience there when it was the Kinleith Arms. It has undergone a very tasteful refurb which has smartened up the interior without losing any of the charm it had before and once more it lived up to our expectation.A great range of drinks at decent prices served by staff who have 'personality' and interact well with customers. Makes you feel at home even if it is your first visit.Starters of Haggis Spring rolls (wonder what the Chinese would say about these) were wonderful. Nice crispy filo pastry filled with a delicious spicy haggis. Could have eating a few more and dispensed with the main course, to be honest.We also had some Chicken Goujons which were cooked to perfection and again, those who had them, felt they were good enough for a main course.For our mains, we had a variety of dishes. I had fish and chips which was magnificent. Having lived in England for many years, I frequenly yearn for a nich piece of haddock without being tainted by skin and this brought back many memories. Very crisp batter, not soaking with oil and a decent size of fish - not too large and not microscopic. Just perfect.Others in the party had the Halloumi Avicado Burger which they both felt was equally delicious with just the right portion size to ensure you could eat it without feeling 'stuffed' and the Salad Platter which had an excellent range of salad vegetables.On the drinks side, a total of 11 drinks were purchased (including malt whiskies and premium spirits) yet our bill was only £85. Excellent value for money.

Thought I would write a review even though unfortunately I am unable to write about the food as we were told that we couldn't stay as we had my 5 month old great nephew with us & children under 5 are not allowed.We have been many times over the years as myself & my parents are from Currie so thought we would treat my mum to lunch for her 75th birthday as it was newly refurbished - so I can say that the interior has improved! We & my mum were really disappointed as she wanted to spend her birthday with her family.

The food and service is always exceptional and we love the new decor very warm and truly relaxing . We reccommend this place to everyone we speak to in the local area, keep up the good work and kudos to the chef .

Just had a super lunch in the modern revitalised Kinleith . My partner had the twice cooked pork belly and I had the smoked haddock and leek risotto washed down with a bottle of the house Pinot Grigio . The haggis spring rolls starter was yummy. The background music and service just rounded off a pleasant relaxing lunch. Booked for next Friday.

The Kinleith Mill has recently undergone a refurbishment and the result is a contemporary and inviting place to enjoy a relaxed drink or meal.Excellent food and ales are still on offer along with a warm welcome.The new Kinleith Mill has retained the charm of it's predecessor The Kinleith Arms but has been brought right up to date and will prove to be a real favourite with old and new customers alike.

Went here for a quiet drink, found a seat, so far so good but just as we ordered another drink a member of staff came to say we would have to move as he needed the table, no problem as he said we could move to the next table. Just got seated when he was back to say he needed that table too, no apology, when we asked where we should go we were met by a shrug of the shoulders. Needless to say we won't be back, and I know we aren't the only ones to have been treated like this. Think it was the manager, he definately needs some training on customer service and although the pub is busy at the moment after its latest reincarnation not sure if they will keep their customers!

Nice wee pub and not very busy for a Saturday afternoon, only a few tables occupied. We ordered a soup and 2 sandwiches, one with chips, I'm still not clear how they managed to take 40 minutes to serve the food, and no apology even when we commented. As the food took so long to come out the kitchen, we ended up rushed which didn't help with the soup being too hot to eat. Very poor customer service - sorry, won't be back!

The Kinleith Arms has been closed for 3 weeks for a complete refit and just reopened as the Kinleith Mill. The new decor is lovely with a very relaxed homely feel. We booked a table for Mother's Day and as soon as we arrived Mark showed us to our table and took our drinks order, 2 people had the garlic mushrooms which were very nice. Then two people had fish & chips which they both said was good! I had the twice cooked pork for my main and it was very good in fact I did recommend it to someone at the next table. We were served our food by Marion and drinks by Mark and Jack! The service was excellent so when we had finished our meal and the snow was heavy we were happy to stay for another drink and an Irish coffee. The food , service and atmosphere combined made for a very relaxing and enjoyable day out! My first visit to The Kinleith Mill was sure to be the first of many!
