Kingsbury Fish Bar in Birmingham

Fish rank tasted off and smelt bad. Disappointment. And Donna kebab very little salad and tiny chilli sauce.paid for a large worse I've ever had. Not the best food and won't be returning again! Seems the place has gone down the pan.

Gladly this shop has been taken over. Was a slow first start due to mixed up deliveries but I stuck with them and surely enough it's now my favourite again. Guys there are very friendly and the chips as well as all the other food is of high quality. Definitely worth a visit if your in the area

I ordered a kebab burger, but wanted half the portion of meat in the bun and the other half on the side (the plain meat I intended to give my dog). The server basically said I was trying to get something for nothing! I can’t help it if he can’t speak English and can’t use his tiny brain to understand I wasn’t asking for extra just asking for the portion to be split! He made me feel, in front of other customers, like I was trying to cheat him. I can’t fix stupid and I won’t be using them again after I’ve used that shop for over 25 years!

Always fresh food, portion size very generous, fish n chips crispy n delish, the pies are nice also, very welcoming atmosphere, great prices. Only thing is, not good with updating opening times on Google. When you're feeling some fish n chips, on google always says open, get there n it's not!

Delicious and fast delivery. Could you add battered mushrooms and halloumi to the menu.

usually good. I placed the order at 7 for 8 delivery. 8.20 it arrived Luke warm, I'll go elsewhere in future.

Ordered Roe and Chips with 2 Scallops. Roe was missing, scallops were inedible and chips were ok but not worth £10

Super crispy and light batter, very good portion of fish, never any bones, a little to many chips to manage my fault though for ordering large good value for money. a very tasty friday treat if only they did sachets or pots of tartare sauce.

First time ordering from here, I don't think the fish is cod but still delicious chips were spot on and piecould of been done Abit longer personal preference but overall delicious

Staff seem to have an attitude. The guy coated everything in salt. Didn’t ask if I wanted sauces or salad. He just straight up wrapped it and gave it to me. Disgusting service. Wouldn’t recommend at all. Didn’t even give me a bag.

I have been popping down in person, once a week, for the last few weeks and have really enjoyed their chips and their service. However today i have ordered from uber and was disappointed. Delivery was amazingly quick. 10mins after ordering and it was at my door. 10mins exact! I ordered 1 sausage kids meal and 2 large kebabs and asked for lettuce with them. The large kebabs only had 5/6 pieces of donner and a few chips. However, what turned my stomach was the lettuce i had asked for. It was brown and slimy! 🤢 Such a shame

Do not have the donner meat, even though it was cut fresh it has defo been sat on there cooking for at least an hour. The pieces underneath the outer layer are obviously soft and then the outer pieces are literally rock hard! You can see in the picture that there is a thick dry streak going down where he cut it and then other side of the meat where it's all soggy. Chips wernt too bad

I've been as polite as I can, but where is my just eat order 325347599 which was supposed to be delivered by no later than 21.15pm 26/06/2024 after the wonderful service offered by Delivaroo and yourself the other day to be suddenly treated this way I will be in touch with Just eat demand a full refund including all charges

I ordered a battered sausage & received a normal sausage that didn’t look cooked enough & the scallop looked like it was about 2 days old but re heated

Fish was over cooked ended up with a lot of potatoes scraps very bad

Absolutely top notch, visited plenty of times and never has a bad take out. A properioter whom takes pride in his customer service and quality of food. Nothing local comes close.

If I could leave zero stars I would. Shop accepted the order and updated it until it said the food was delivered. However the food wasn’t delivered and when I rang the shop was closed. Terrible service

the driver could not find my front door. He kept phoning me, telling me he was lost and then putting the phone down. In the end, I had to go outside and meet him around the back.

Found this to be one of the best fish and chip shops, great service, excellent food.

Lovely food, we went in late just before closing, but the gents doing the cooking asked us if we minded waiting 5 minutes and cooked what we asked for and it was lovely

Large mixed meat and chips.... 100% vile... small portion, dry meat, chips tasted rubbery and owner was too busy on phone to care

The portions are huge! Great food srgwd piping hot and really good portions.

Really liked this place but due to religious reasons we don't go anymore. A man addressed us going in one day and advised he worked there and they fry their pork sausages in the same oil as chips are made. So for any Muslims out there, be advised.

Always call in when passing by and hungry. Always friendly service and great food

I go every Friday on way to my daughters, I've tried multiple chippies in the area and found this one was the best! Great food and very generous portions. Staff are always friendly, quick service. Highly recommended.

Recently under new management, under lockdown the quality really suffered but there has been a vast improvement. Great prices, great service.

hit and miss.... used to be great all the time.. but when there are a certain crew on the place goes down hill. older gents in daytime seem much better. went Friday night and was so disorganised from overcharging people to having to wait for ages for food while other stuff ordered just sits there going cold.

2 pieces of chicken and chips, both pieces of chicken raw in the middle, sent photos to their website, reply from previous owner saying he sold up 3 years ago, I've now been blocked..cracking service

Doner and chips was not good. Chips were not fresh, not tasty. Doner was dry like cardboard and flavour was strange. Serving size was okay.

I was served Mediterranean chicken, it was chicken with mint sauce!!! I asked for jalapenos and was told that's what we throw on the floor??? Make of that what you will. Food was disappointing, without saying I wont be a repeat customer.

Chip shop is terrible , food is cold , they never get your order right , never again if you’ve rate this more than 3 starts your a friend or family member of the shop

Its your standard chippie. Nice food for good prices. A good treat for the kids as I like to take them after school every Friday. Conveniently close to the school so it makes the school run even better. Haven't been recently so I'm not sure how well its upholding coronavirus regulations.

Really enjoyed these chips and curry sauce. Whilst pregnant really craved curry sauce. Went to my local whose curry sauce was too sweet for me but my sister recommended this place and it was exactly what I wanted. Not my local only a few min drive but would defo my go to for good chips and delicious curry sauce. Chips tasted fresh too. Update: originally gave 5* but just had the chips although mine was delicious as I had curry sauce splashed all over it, my son did not and the chips were well hard so I’ve changed to a 3*

Great food all reasonably priced

Not sure what's happened to this place. Always been our favourite chippy. Are you offering equal opportunity employment? Because the man on the till HAS to be homeless? Surely?... Not good around food. Also not sure how you run out of chicken by 5:30 pm. Needs another overhaul.

Gone down hill looks like they employed the local tramp off the street dosnt look professional at all the staff are rude

I've given such a low rating as the food was ok and reasonable price, however the staff left a lot to be desired, its not pleasant to be served food by someone who has quite obviously been drinking, seeing as he could hardly hold himself up and also looked scruffy..not good for a early Saturday lunchtime.

This is the go-to place for fish and chips. Has been for years and never rests on its laurels. Great value for money, good service and amazing tasting food. British food at its best. Kebabs are good too. Try the battered sausages. Hmmmmm.

I love this chippy, but they must start doing orange chips, there no where around here that do them, come on Kingsbury, be the first shop to do them, they are big business,
