No vegetable lasagne, had a veggie burger instead. Very average and beige, not a piece of lettuce or tomato in sight. Was 2 meals for £12, so cheap, but I can make better at home. Music too loud. While we were waiting for food, 2 ladies came in, sat down and then walked back out. Place seemed a bit grubby, staff were back and fore smoking outside. The very worst thing though was the poor, poor fish in the fish tank in there. The tank is absolutely filthy. You couldn’t see them properly. It really put me off eating there. I wish I hadn’t now. Please, please sort that tank out.

Popped in last Saturday for a quick local breakfast , it was lovely hot, tasty, and fresh, all with a lovely cuppa . Staff called Sam was friendly and food prompt and half the price of other local places ...Great start to the day .. be back soon

Slow service to start only to be brought out a still frozen lasagna after taking that back another half hour wait only to be brought out an extremely overcooked lasagna - no apologies from staff eventually had a refund for MOST of a meal after arguing

Absolute dump of a place.Met friends for a night out.A group of regulars all huddled on tables by the bar with young children who were there till the pub closed.Asked for a rose wine they didn't have any.We felt so sorry for the fab singer.Never again such a shame used to be a lovely place.Did read people's reviews on Facebook about the awful food to.Needs new owners

Called here for Sunday lunch on New Year’s Day. We were surprised on entering to see it was a carvery as we hadn’t been told this on booking. To be honest it didn’t look very appealing. There was only two meats beef and Turkey. Anyway hubby went for beef and I had some of each. The Turkey was great and I was sorry I had the beef, which was dry. I managed to salvage one roast potato out of the bits that were left. Yorkshire puddings were cold and so was the stuffing balls. The veg was just warm. Gravy was tasty. We were the only two people eating but another table had empty plates so had eaten previously. In summing up the food tasted better than it looked and it could have been much hotter. Even if they’d offered to zap it in the microwave. I had booked for 2pm so I guess we were late for them.

Worst xmas dinner ever. It was unbelievable it came 3 hours late.yes 3 hours late. The people in charge were out of their depth didn't have a clue.everyones in the place was late.i have never seen such a shambles. Please avoid this place .not an apology from staff about the shambolic way it was run.i will never step foot in that badly run establishment ever again and advise everyone else to aswell. Really ruined my Xmas day by far.all I can advise these amateurs running this place is just give up its not for you

Had two Sunday Roast dinners delivered today, one beef and one pork, the food was plentiful and tasty, excellent value for money. This was our first time and definitely will be ordering again. Thank you.

Called in with the wife for lunch. Had Lasagne SCRUMPTIOS best pub lunch for YEARS. FED UP of the chain pubs meals small portions of 2nd rate food. So the Kings now have us for ever.

Loads of us went for a 16th birthday meal, which has been booked months in advance. Half the food on the menu wasn't available, half of us didn't end up eating. 2 meals didn't even get cooked and served! The food that was served wasn't great at all.

Went to a charity funday yesterday had a fab day staff were brill can’t praise them enough. Had food and that was excellent can’t wait to come back . Thank you to the management and staff.

Just phoned the pub and asked about what time do they stop playing music/bands outside (was not asking for them to cease playing just a simple question) got told "lovey we stop at 11pm" and she slammed phone down. The music had been blasting since 6.30 - i live 5 mins drive away and its way too high but i will say again wasnt complaining. Should not have put the phone as i was going to order a Sunday lunch takeaway for four - another time when a woman of my age doesnt get called LOVEY and phone slammed down.

Booked for wife's 40th and had 15 down for food. About 30 turned up and staff accommodated us with no issues. Only 2 staff working debbie and gillian who did a fab job at serving us all and kitchen staff. Other side of the pub was another big party booked in so I total there was about 60 between both party's and deb and Gillian were running between the kitchen and bar to serve food and drinks 🙌 well done all 5*

Sampled the Christmas carvery and we were all impressed. Choice of beef or turkey and a nice selection of vegetables followed by cheesecake or ice cream. Meats were really well cooked and vegetables well prepared. Really good value and highly recommended.

Me and my Wife had a Sunday Roast there. They catered for me being a vegetarian. The Nut roast portion could have been a little bigger but the rest was awesome. We will definitely go again. The older staff were excellent and really nice. The younger staff though didn't seem interested or customer orientated, but I still love the place.

Visited this place a few times over the years and with each new visit I can't believe how consistently neglected this pub is.

Food nice but in desperate need of renovation customer's in and out of kitchen drugs seemed to be going in the gents toilet no management around doesn't seem to care about premises

6 of us met up for a Mothers Day roast meal. We had a lovely big table, the restaurant was busy but we were not ontop of the next table so it was great to chat and laugh comfortably. The food was absolutely delicious, there was a bit of a wait between courses which was much appreciated as we did not feel rushed at all. I can recommend the chicken caesar salad to start and the roast beef was top quality and cooked perfectly (I like it pink). Pudding was very good too. Staff were friendly. There is obviously ungrading building work happening but access what still easy for my elderly mum. We ae going to go back with our dogs and stay over - great area for walking. Excellent value for money.

Visited for evening meal. Had the Gammon and a mixed grill plenty of it on the plate chips fresh cooked to perfection the problem was it was obvious that the grill had not been brushed between courses as a result the meat looked as it if it was burnt covered with lots of burnt black bits which had to be scraped off Pointed this out to staff non committal This has been a regular haunt for many years but this was very off putting

I visited here yesterday. It was very busy so we were patcient waiting for food to arrive. After over a hour of waiting food came. I ordered cornedbeef pie mash pease and gravy. I was given a sheperds/ cottage pie. I stated it was incorect only to be told " thats what you ordered". With no itemised reciept it was my word against the waitress/barmaid. They took the pie back. And got me the cornedbeef pie. Unfortunately the "chef" had just stuk it in the microwave. It was genuinly like a rock! I could not even cut the pastry with a steak knife!tje cornedbeef had also gone grey in colour and rock hard around the edge of the pie, totaly dried out. The mash and peas had obviously just been left on the side as they had gone stone cold. The childrens meal was burger chips beans . Burger emwas ok. Beans again were burned from micro. Chips tasted fishy like oil hadnt been changed for a while.

Went there last Saturday. It was very quiet which we liked. But could not understand how we had too wait 45 minutes for our meal which was not cordon blue but bog standard pub food. Whe I ordered the food one of the starters was not available chicken wings. They had run out at 7.15!!. When the meal arrived the meat was just okay. But the chips were pale, not crisp and raw. Totally disgusting totally inedible. We would never go there again.

we had two mixed grills which were cooked perfectly and the homemade chips were excellent very tasty. will definitely return and try something from the specials board. pub grub at its finest.

I know it seems like I am alway in this pub but me and my friends like it a lot. There is not one thing that makes you go back it’s a lot of things. Cordial staff good surroundings. And good food served excellently. Not over priced not over dressed just what you want for a good night out. Good quality meats and chips to die for.

Having frequently visited this pub on numerous occasions and I have been very impressed with the quality of food however having visited there last night 28/07/18 I was disappointed chips hard cooked twice I think batter for fish over cooked in need of decorating new carpet tables sticky staff are friendly and helpful

Lovely staff, nice pub, spacious outdoor seating. Nice mini park outside seems safe for children to play. I recommend the lasagne absouletly yummy, big plate of comfort food.

Been regular for breakfast for a long time, Always good, although bit oily on 1 occasion only. Tried it for lunch also a few times and must say great value and love the fact that they serve real chips!

Attended for family meal as part of a party of 14. Meals served were reasonable and quick ( did not expect gourmet meals just decent pub grub). Part of order was spicy noodles with Cajun chicken.... when meal arrived was in fact plain noodles with a dollop of sauce on top , making the dish slimy and very unappealing and not as described on menu. My complaints to staff and manager were completely disregarded and unrecognised.... no offer of replacement or substitute . Was told in no uncertain terms that if I didn't like it order and pay for something else....customer satisfaction does not appear to be something this place values....

Yes this place is quite scruffy and needs a complete overhaul (toilets are awful), but they have a vast menu and food is very good. I can recommend the jacket potatoes (tuna mayo), large portion and a nice side salad. My daughter had the veggie burger and chips and all was good. Chips were lovely and not greasy. Friend had chocolate fudge cake which looked delicious. Very reasonably priced too. But overall, I wouldn't particularly choose to go here - I was meeting friends who chose this place - as there are so many other nicer places in Swansea to go to!

I give this pub a five as have never been disappointed on a visit. Just popped in for my evening meal. Had a warm welcome and meal was what I ordered. For a cheap good meal I recommend you pop in.

The kings is nice and warm and cosy, im a big fan of the old fashioned look on a pub but this place really needs an overhaul, its looking tired, but obviously it would cost a lot of money that people just don't have. The food was very nice and it was lovely to have homemade chips and not frozen, the cutlery was dirty, and you have to just try and pick out a clean one! (This problem is in most pubs and it really puts me off! I know i sound a bit negative but its the truth, aside from the problems the food is value for money and the music playing in the background was nice to hear too, also the staff were very pleasant. Im gonna give it another visit tonight with my partner and i hope i get clean cutlery.

We met for a family gathering for my mums 84 th birthday.We ordered the largest buffet there was more than enough and we ended up taking loads home .The food was very freshly made with a big selection of sandwiches ,pasties ,quiches,chicken,samosas,sausage rolls,trays of chips and various other savories.staff were very attentive and even gave us a bottle of prosecco.special diets were catered for with no problem.We would highly reccomend this venue.Thankyou to the staff.

If you’re looking for simple, good food, you won’t regret eating at this pub. Good atmosphere, good service and well presented, good food. Only downside, people smoking at the pub entrance, so you have to walk through a fog of cigarette smoke to gain access. Apart from that, good all round.

Me and my Free went there yesterday for a Sunday lunch yes the place needs updating but I have to say the food was piping hot all cooked to perfection the only food that was frozen are the peas but tell me anywhere else that gives real fresh peas.The carvery was beautiful the Beef melted in my mouth and the Turkey was white and moist not dry I didn't have the Pork because it was in bits and I like a Slice the roasties were real.NOT FROZEN WHERE MANY ARE and not GRCZZZZZZZY CABBAGE SEWADE COLLI CHEESE PEAS CARROTS MASH POTS NOT A LUMP IN SIGHT AND PIPING HOT GRAVY. We called in for a meal about 4 pm, having visited many times before. The Kings has gone downhill and looks very unwelcoming and dismal. Desperate for a need to be brightened up. The outside was untidy with old weeds and cig ends everywhere not a nice approach. We had a four meals (2 for a tenner) which were ok but my partners mixed grill had a lot of liquid on the plate either water or grease, we had to dry off the liquid with the serviettes. There were a few children constantly running in and out the main door as you can imagine this was not nice trying to have a meal. The parents did not seem to care about other customers, So sorry to be writing this but will be giving this pub a miss in the future.

The family and I went here again for Christmas dinner, and we weren't disappointed again. I did have my doubts when I saw the pub was really really busy, but service was really good considering the pub was full. Starters came out and were piping hot, within a couple of minutes of us finishing them, our dishes were cleared away. a few minutes later, our main course came out, along with bowl after bowl of veg, and there was a load of everything, including at least 5 gravy boats (between 6 adults). Everything was done perfectly, and we could have requested more veg, if we'd needed them. Desserts took a little longer than desired, which was fine by me as I needed a few minutes to digest my mains. I wouldn't allow this little delay to ruin my overall experience of the day though, and would not hesitate in coming here again for food, at any time of the year.

Visited pub many times over the years for food and must say recently the Sunday lunch delivery option was a revelation, Turned up on time on disposable plate with separate gravy, Loads of meat plus great range of vegetables plus Yorkshire pud. Highly recommended!!

sunday lunch is lovely at this pub its all cooked really well with it being a carvery you can have as much or as little as you want i have also been here for a steak wich was good but i cannot recommend curry they all have a lot of coconut in them so much so you cant tast the curry at all

To be honest expectations on entering this tired looking pub were not the highest but by jingo after eating or should I say trying to eat the Sunday carvery I was surprised that things could get worse.The food was an absolute joke some of the worst fare I’ve ever tasted including a night in the cells.I left feeling so low I could have walked under a snake’s belly wearing a top hat.Do not waste your money,plenty of better eateries in Swansea.Only given one star because zero was not available.

Never again will i eat here. Tasteless, peas boiled till there is no colour. I had surf and turf. Chips were cold, steak was like old boots. I was lucky i had 4 bits of scampi.

Have visited the pub twice in the last month .Once with the grandchildren and just with my wife.On both occasions we had the steak with jacket potatoes . Each time cooked to perfection and plenty of it As far as the children's meals were concerned massive amounts for kids All value for money.

Yo no estado en el Kings durante unos años y odio decir que me decepcionó. Sólo veía sucio y como que necesitaba una mano de pintura y el dos por una oferta comida 10 libras puedes conseguir comida mucho mejor para el mismo precio en otro lugar. Tuvimos que recoger a través de la bandeja de cubiertos para obtener otras limpias, pero la comida era rápido, pero es como que se calentó en el microondas. Una cosa buena era las patatas fritas eran real patatas fritas. Estoy lo siento chicos, pero en general, era terrible!

Visita este pub, al menos una vez a la semana. La comida siempre es deliciosa y el personal es amable y eficiente. A menudo nos hemos una comida de domingo que puede ser entregado a la casa por una pequeña tarifa que es genial si no le apetece cocinar o vistiéndose para ir. Sin duda lo recomiendo.

Not been here for a while but thought I would leave a review. The place is lovely to have food day and night staff are very pleasant and always happy. Food is of high quality and always tasty "home cooked food" ... Outside seating area is recommended through the summer months as the sun is out the front most of the day ...

Absolutely love going here! The food is great and the service is always spot on considering we very often go in a large group of around 10-15 of us. Great menu choice, play area for the children, plenty of parking and the food is lovely. 100% recommend

Often eat here in large groups for family birthdays/occasions. Plenty of parking and good prices. Food is always nice, but once I did order the chicken curry and asked for it to have no onions but it still came with onions in, just as well I just don't like onions and it wasn't an allergy. So on that they weren't very attentive to needs and didn't really acknowledge customer needs. Other than that I always enjoy my food here along with everybody else

Been here for a few Sunday carveries, so we as a family decided to try Christmas dinner, and none of us were disappointed, especially my 2 and 4 year old boys. We were shown to our table promptly and our starters came out within minutes of us getting our seats. The soup and prawn cocktails couldn't be faulted, and even the bread rolls were warm and crispy, as they should be! Couldn't believe my eyes when our dinners came out, the plates were full, and there wasn't even one piece of veg on them, yet. A load of different veg came out in the tureens - potatoes, carrots, peas, sprouts etc and a fleet of gravy boats. The waitress serving informed us that if we needed more veg or gravy, all we had to do was ask. The deserts were really really nice, so much so that my 2 year old ate my share of gateau, as well as his own. By this time, everyone in our party - 10 in total - were pretty stuffed, and the same waitress presented us with a mince pie each and a cup of coffee. Based on our experience in 2016, we have already booked for this Christmas, and I for one, cannot wait!! Will definitely be having more meals here over the next 12 months!

Tried this popular pub/restaurant for this first time, my partner and I opted for the 2 for £10 range and both of us had ham, eggs and chips, both meals arrived with a few minutes and were of a generous portion, plenty of condiments available as well, partner had a coffee which she said was excellent taste, will try again

We've visited two weeks in a row now as food was so good on first visit. Both times there was a function in the other room so there was a delay for food.Great homemade chips and a decent side salad with the scampi.My fellow dinner loved the pasta bolognaise and homemade garlic bread on first visit and tikka massala on second.Breakfast menu was cheap and we would like to come back to try.Only criticism was the unnatural red colour of the curry.

I eat here regularly, particularly for breakfast. For a reasonable sum you can have a huge plate of food. The "small" breakfast is adequate for many. Includes unlimited tea/coffee.During the day there is an extensive menu very popular with families. This is not cordon bleu cooking but good wholesome food. It can get very busy but service is generally speedy. Sunday lunches are excellent value and you have a choice of a plated meal in the bar or carvery in the restaurant: you can also have takeaway and home delivery -ideal for a lazy Sunday.

Returned to have lunch this time, had the curry and it was so delicious - masses of chicken and half and half available.Doesnt look like a big portion - but it is !!! Can recommend trying this dish.

We've eaten Sunday Lunch at the Kings Head many times and have always had a good meal. The amount of food your served is very impressive. Theres also a good variety. Today we had the Nut Roast, Roast Pork and Turkey. We couldn't eat all the veg that was served in separate trays.The staff were lovely including the 2 young waitresses who seemed happy to work there. To be recommended.

The meals are excellent and good value for the money. The staff are very nice and polite. They even deliver your Sunday dinner to your home for a small fee and again the dinner is excellent.

Reserved a table and when we got there not written in the book. Staff told us to sit in a room and left to get on with it. We had to move tables so our party could sit together. No member of staff bothered to give us a menu. The tables were grubby the menus were sticky. Will not be going back basic pub meal. Grubby decoration in need of a deep clean and lick of paint.

Food is good quality here, food portions are a good size, and has really nice beers. Really enjoy a boss brave after the football on a Saturday.
