A haven for drugs......I would recommend not going there.

Great atmosphere. Lively local pub on the Saturday we visited. Had a few drinks and chatted to locals. Good selection of music being played. Abby, Mark and the team doing a fantastic job. Recommend a visit if you’re in the area.

Been touring Europe and UK assessing pubs for ideas. The Kings head was recommended due to a change in management and approach to a local pub. Certainly the differentiators of great service, well priced drinks and electric atmosphere are all there. I was impressed by the impression this venue projected. I met the people running the venue and they were down to earth and genuine people. The locals were all exceptional. Now take my recommendation, this is the place to visit, you will definitely go back.

Did not have any food but the beer, Ghost Ship was brilliant real ale, and at £2.65 a pint, can't beat it 👍🍺🍺🍺

I’m a regular customer and tonight someone opened the front door me and the people that were around me said the draft was so cold two of us shut the door people complained to the new manager she said she would close the door soon then she opened the side door to she on it looks after her friends in there if that’s how she’s going to be it’s not good

Cracking pub and super-friendly host/owner. Decent prices too!! Update 23/04/22 - went in to watch the Tyson Fury boxing. Extremely disappointed to find that they were showing it.....but with no sound!! Absolutely pointless, so left and went elsewhere. Several other people seemed to do the same too. It wouldn't have harmed to have focused on that for an hour (especially as only 2 people were dancing to the music being played). Disappointing, and will now not consider them for any future, sporting events.

My go to pub when I want to see friends whilst socialising

Absolutely brilliant pub with one of the best landlady's you are ever likely to find. Great regular entertainment and fantastic friendly atmosphere.

Nice enough, always get super quick friendly service so 3 stars for that.. I never stay long as sadly no beer garden, and being able to sit outside with beer happens maybe once a week out front (I guess they can't be arsed to set up, which is a shame). I'd give the place 5 out of 5 if it was reliably doing this. But it's hit and miss.

Has Dj on during the week, & wkend..Sunday Bingo..cash prizes & alcoholic drinks to be won, fair prices.

Decent priced real ale, but only 2 hand pumps. Clean and tidy with entertainment at the weekend.

Fantastic place fantastic staff

I live locally so may be a little biased but the atmosphere in the King's Head is great - friendly, helpful staff offering a great range of beers and spirits provides a warm welcome to all - including pets. With a beer garden and an outdoor seating area on the square side it's a proper, old fashioned local offering all mod cons. Sky & BT sports provide the background for a great visit - day or night (or both!). Regular karaoke and a great disco Saturday nights seal the entertainment package.

It's a lovely pub and it is very spacious inside and all the staff are very friendly and kind and polite.

Not been in Kings head for about six months due to lockdown. Still ok.. beer good too..

The only pub you can go in buy a drink and get kicked out 15mins later because you were out the week before allegedly causing trouble even though you was at home all weekend with your kids .I won't be going back in there again...

Friendly place and atmosphere woz good thanks

Used to be a really nice pub, but recently gone down hill with lack of stock and the toilets aren't cleaned properly. It's a shame because when it first reopened under new management in 2018, it was a breath of fresh air to ilkeston with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. I feel things have gotten quite lackadaisical. The door staff on the other hand are friendly and professional which is a rarity in ilkeston.

I found the pub to be unclean, the gents toilets were auful to use, stepping in urine. There is no maintenance/duty of care here. Fights break out regularly as well.

Great owners and a great place for a few last drinks before home.
