King’s Garden Chinese Takeaway in North Tyneside

Bad chinese to order from used to be good person on order line can't understand English cuts u off all the time very rude and frustrating don't call them if u don't want hassle

We have used this many times in the past and have never had no issues but when i phoned this takeaway tonight at 6pm and asked for a order just over £18. Had to phone back up twice and asked if my order was on its way.... and she explained they have employed a new driver and hes got lost....and on the second time they said that they would remake it again and send it straight out.....so when it eventually got to just before 9pm tonight we phoned for a third time....to say it was way to late eat now... as wife is disabled and also a diabetic... and my wife said she had a good mind to ask for a free meal for this and the woman didn't as much as apologise... laughed thinking it was a joke and said she will tell her boss...and then she was trying to say we wouldnt answer the door to him as if it was my fault....let me explain my chair is less than 2ft from the front door... the lights were on the front of the house and in the hallway and there was no TV on so how could i not hear the driver......i cant believe there was even as much as a apology....it will very dissappointed indeed. 🙁🙁

My first meal and delivery from here... Food was really tasty overall however, the chicken was a bit suspect in my chow main. Spare ribs were good and the sauce was really tasty. Not sure what the chicken was tbh....strange tough texture and didn't taste like chicken. May be the brand used?

Normally here every other day but the past few times av been the salt and pepper chicken has went massively down hill just way to crispy hardly no chicken whats so ever grabbed the yellow bean and chicken and it tasted like they hadn’t cooked it in a fresh pan tasted like cantonese with yellow bean mixed spring rolls had hardly any veg in them at all its a shame because i have been going for nearly 2 years never used any other place then these because they’ve been spot on atmosphere and customer service is spot on but i guess am going to have to back to canton garden little bit more of a wait but always top quailty

Ive started using Kings garden despite living only 20 metres from my local chinese takeaway, its a 10 minute drive away but its worth it. I can recommend the salt and pepper chilli prawns. The spicy dishes are spicy ! Ive been twice so far and the food has been excellent on bith occassions.

My local Chinese and it’s one of the best I’ve been to. I always spend about £50 on my order as I like to have a mixture of dishes to share with my family. I just reheat the leftovers and nibble later on. The man on the counter is really nice compared to the typical service in a Chinese takeaway. Love it

This was the worst takeaway I have ever had the misfortune of ordering. The chicken was inedible - resembling a stringy, rubber texture (think elastic bands). The chips were clearly not cooked from fresh and were dried-up, appearing as leftovers from a previous day. In addition, I was overcharged - the total cost of food and delivery (for my postcode) did not represent the charges on the newly delivered menu. I will never repeat this experience; dreadful.

Me and my partner tried a takeaway for the first time from here for a change, it was really nice.

Ordered 2 munchie boxes, came after an hour, both really over cooked, they replaced my order only for it to come back tuff and over cooked, exactly the same as the first order.

The options on the lunch menu are nice and the portions are perfect. Only took about 10 minutes to collect.

Great food but every time I have ordered there is an item missing the past 3 orders I’ve had the chips or drinks have been missing which isn’t great only ever ordering for 2 people so not sure how it always gets missed

Great food excellent service. The staff are very welcome polite and professional, menu is excellent plenty of choice and very reasonably priced it also tastes excellent. Handy for lunchtime specials. I would highly recommend this place definitely going back.

It's our favourite in the area. They do get our order wrong more often than not which is extremely frustrating but we don't enjoy the taste from any other Chinese so we find ourselves ordering again.

Had plenty of take-aways from here since March when family moved to the area. No issues with any. All were very good. The lunch time specials are spot on. The queues suggest I am not the only one who thinks this.

Ordered duck spring rolls and I got the smallest bit of duck ever in each one! And everything was freezing Wish I could add pics

On way to aberdeen from london I was starving ordered on line and picked it up en route wow delicious very very tasty washed down with an ice cold glass bottle of Coke from my fridge top marks bud il be back

Tasteless greasy food both times I have tried this takeaway. The only reason I gave it another go was because new mayflower was closed I’m presuming because of storm damage.. now new mayflower in burradon is absolutely delicious 😋 this one never again

Always great service from Kings and a free beer on them when you pick up. We had half duck replaced due to a little over done with no bother at all and it was fantastic. Favourite chinese in Burgess Hill, thanks Kings for a great service and food.

This has to be our new take away can not fault a thing we had phoned order in ready on time , and it was delicious and large amounts, so more then you need thank you, we will be seeing you often

My favourite Chinese takeaway. I travel from Ryton to West moor to get our meals.

Waited 2 hours for delivery. Which is ok as obviously busy. Order arrived. Wrong items delivered to what was ordered. Also the salt and pepper chicken was cold.

Easily the best Chinese takeaway in the area. Quality is usually consistent and a fair price. I have found the food quality is better on collection than on delivery. Cash only which is a shame. Sweet and sour balls, Thai sweet chilli chicken and egg foo yung dishes are great.

Standard food, nothing on wai ho. Waited hour n a half. Then forgot our pop, recieved our pop then 45minutes later after our food. After a phonecall asking us to go find them at a different number. No thanks. First n last time i order from here. Absolute carnage

Absolutely disgusted. My other half came and made an order while on the phone to me i overheard the full conversation. He ordered special rice special chowmain curry sauce and prawn crackers. The order was just shy of £18.00. He came home with special rice curry prawn crackers and fried noodles. Not 1 bit of meat in the chow main. He rang and the lady tried to say that was what he ordered. So when we asked about the price and how it cost that much she then said if my partner walked 15mins back down they would give him what he ordered. There mistake yet wanting us to walk back down for them to correct it. Any other takeaway would send a driver up with the correct item. The special rice had 2 bits of pork 2 bits of rank chicken slimy like it had been boiled 4 tiny prawns and a ton of peas. Never again would i even attempt to get food from there.

Boiled house special chow mien As per previous comments, weren’t aware this was the style of cooking as didn’t have a menu. Called them and they resolved it l. Great service.

A good quality takeaway. One of the best in the area and the food quality is always consistent. they don't take card only cash so be prepared as there are no cash machines close by. They offer collection and they also offer delivery at a reasonable cost. The egg foo yung from this takeaway is the best I've ever had also the sweet chilli dishes and sweet and sour dishes are great.

Lunchtime special not so special. Listed on menu as served in one container with rice or chips only to be changed extra £2 for the rice in the same container????? So endup paying £6:30 instead of listed £4:30 rip off. Would have given no stars for this alone but 1 minimum. This was for a group order of 8 so the stung us for £16. Also chow mein not fried more like boiled in soup. Will not be using again and will advise friends and family

Since when did chow mein noodles come as a boiled dish. I wanted my noodles fried not in a disgusting soup like mess! I wanted to check what it said in their menu but no surprise that there isn’t one available online! This is the last time I order from this place. Dramatically going down hill!

WORST FOOD EVER, half the order didn’t turn up and she was rude when we asked about it.

Great king prawns, just a bit disappointed that having spent 3 mins on the phone explaining what we wanted I still got the wrong order Ended up with sweet and sour king prawns instead of chilli and salt, prawns were lovely so went with it and will try again, but attention to order would help ,

Great food from here. Veg is always cooked as to not be tough or chewy. Curry sauce is nice and spicy. Portion size is good.

Vegetable Satay. My usual order that I have eaten for 12 years from here. A little bemused at the seemingly complete lack of customer service in dealing with the wrong order. The girl was perfectly polite, She did apologise genuinely but gave me the distinct impression that she did not want to send out another and wanted me to eat the delivered food. It contained Prawns and I do not eat any seafood. "So you can't eat it?" "No, I don't eat 'Seafood!' My partner eats seafood so I said sarcastically, "He can eat it and I will eat nothing tonight" The polite and serious reply was "Ok I will make a note for the next order..." Next order??? After 12 years of service from me... She made me feel guilty for wanting the order I placed to be delivered... (She was in no way nasty but she wanted me to not send it back.) It's not the end of the world and I should have asked that it be replaced but as I said, I felt like that course of action was a big deal. My partner has eaten half and said "It wasn't nice at all." I may pop a card through the door explaining how to deal with such incidents.

Quick service and friendly helpful staff. Decent prices for Chinese food as well.
