This is my local pub so had lunch here last Saturday with my friend Sarah. Delighted to see a new menu with lots of lovely new dishes to try! My friend had the trout which looked divine and I had the pork. I've always found the portions to be on the small side in the past but was pleasantly surprised this time around. The pork was 'melt in the mouth' and cooked to perfection, as was the dauphinoise which accompanied and the charred hispi cabbage. For dessert we both selected 'Autumn still life', a beautifully presented mix of tastes and textures, not too sweet and just enough to round off our fabulous mains. Really impressed this time around and a huge improvement. Compliments to both the chef and our waiter whose customer service was exemplary.

Having been here twice before and both occasions being excellent, it was really disappointing to have to write this review. Firstly we were not offered the Christmas roast which we both would have had if this was offered. We only found this out as people arriving after us were offered it. The vegetables were bland and in short supply with the serving of cauliflower being particularly stingy and despite it being called cauliflower cheese, there being very little if any cheese. Small portions all round and certainly not worth the money. My partner ordered pork which was a gammon steak. Admittedly a nice one, but not roast pork. The sticky toffee pudding was good as was the service (despite the big error of not offering the Christmas roast) but with there being quite a lot of better alternatives around we probably wouldn’t return.

The roasts here are pathetic . The portion sizes are tiny for what you pay . £23 for a Sunday Turkey roast and was provided with one small slice of meat . After asking for more we were told we could not have any more turkey but could have 3 more slices of beef (also small) for £4 extra. The potatoes were stale tasting too . Total rip off.

Had a Sunday dinner here, the meal was over priced for what was served and the quality of the food, they had a weird selection of veg on the plate (beetroot??) the potato’s were stale like they have been sat for a few hours, re heated and put on the plate, same with the Yorkshire pudding, the chicken was dry and my brother reported it didn’t taste very nice, and my other brother spent the rest of the afternoon on the toilet after his meal !! (He had the pork)

Our take and every take around us has to ask for extra gravy. Perhaps don't put it on but invest in some good size gravy jugs so everyone doesn't have to ask for more?

I have had lunch at the King's Arms a few times. It's usually a family treat, or a birthday lunch. We have never been disappointed. We have sampled a variety of dishes, including vegetarian options, and they have all been excellent. The car park is small, and the restaurant can get busy so it is worth booking ahead. A big thumb's up to the King's Arms, highly recommended.

Great evening with friends who haven't seen each other for a number of years. I selected The Kings Arms as we have dined there a few times before. The evening was perfect and exceeded our expectations. The Autumn menu was amazing, we were seated a private area and the service was spot on. The Kings Arms very easily competes with all of the fine dining restaurants in Cheltenham.

We recently ate at the King’s Arms, High Street, Prestbury. The pub was recommended to us by friends who are locals in the area. Our meal was absolutely faultless, spot-on, and first-class from start to finish. We ate as a group of four, with two children aged under 10. The kids had burgers, which went down extremely well; we had the roast gressingham duck and the bouillabaisse, both of which were exceptional. The meal was complemented by a couple of glasses of stunningly smooth wine, and we rounded off the meal with a chocolate & orange mousse and ice cream. The atmosphere and friendliness of welcome were well received, and the dining area that we ate in was a lovely mix of traditional and contemporary styles. We will definitely head back and could not recommend, from our experience – more highly. There was enough on the menu, so you were spoilt for choice, and given that, you could easily visit multiple times without disappointment.

If you're searching for a place where every sip of coffee feels like a warm hug and every bite of dessert transports you to cloud nine, look no further than The King's Arms. I came in for a coffee and a pistachio souffle, as a friend of mine recommended. And let's talk about their pistachio souffle - an absolute masterpiece! The moment it arrived at my table, I knew I was in for a treat. With its light, airy texture and rich pistachio flavor, every spoonful was sheer bliss. It's evident that the pastry chefs here pour their heart and soul into crafting desserts that not only look amazing but also taste like a slice of heaven.

We ate dinner with friends and selected starters and mains from the Summer a la Carte menu and from their specials. All starters and mains were delicious and better than pub grub. I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant with my girlfriend, and it was an absolute delight! The atmosphere was charming and cozy, with a vibe that made us feel right at home. They had just launched their new spring menu, and let me tell you, it was a feast for the eyes with so many tantalizing vegan and gluten-free options. For starters, we opted for the cheese souffle and the ham hock terrine, and oh boy, were they delicious! Each bite was packed with flavor and we couldn't get enough. Moving on to the mains, we went for the beef and ale pie and the Devon Crab. Not only were these dishes beautifully presented, but they also tasted absolutely divine. And just when we thought it couldn't get any better, we decided to treat ourselves to a slice of cheesecake for dessert. It was the perfect way to end our meal - light, creamy, and surprisingly good! Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience. The food was top-notch, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. While cleanliness was certainly notable, it was the welcoming vibe and exceptional food that truly stole the show. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

This could be a really nice pub, but every time I go to eat I can't help but feel I am getting ripped off. I always walk away with a sense that what they deliver for what they seem to want to offer in their bistro menu is more about getting the last penny out of each dish and drink offer. It's never a genuine offer to entice customers/locals to build as a regular trustworthy place to relax, eat a good meal and have a couple drinks. I am happy to spend money when it is worth it, but for the small amount you get on your plate at £29-35, the standard of cooking, and the 2 for 1 drink offers with rules, plus the non chalant service that comes with little care, makes you feel like management are trying to be Bistro, but at little cost to the company and little desire to truly give service Go for drinks alone and it's just fine.

Mum and I had Sunday lunch on the 31st March for her 83rd birthday and I was really disappointed with the food. It's not cheap, which I don't mind as long as the food is a good standard. We ordered two roast beef. It arrived in a reasonable time. The roast potatoes were not really roasted, pale white, the roasted parsnips were the same. The beetroot looked and tasted as if they were from a jar and just warmed in the oven. There was a back note of vinegar which you wouldn't get from a freshly roasted beetroot. The waiter service was very good, and the desert of pistachio soufflé was lovely. Such a shame as the King's Arms is local to me but will give Sunday lunch a miss in the future.

Fantastic Mother’s Day experience! I booked The Kings Arms for a Sunday Lunch on Mother’s Day, after researching ‘the best roasts in Gloucestershire’ - The Kings Arms did not disappoint! The atmosphere was beautiful, with a young woman playing guitar and singing some acoustic covers of some indie songs. Myself & Mum both had the beef roasts, which were easily the best roasts we’d eaten outside of our own homes. I can’t remember what my partner ordered - but he loved it, too! The puddings were lovely; Dark Chocolate & Cherry Mousse, Sticky Toffee Pudding & the Almond Tart🙌🏾 My only niggle, is that we were seated at a table which had been squeezed in next to another for maximum capacity, which slightly affected the intimacy of Mother’s Day, with the next table over almost sitting shoulder-to-should with my mum. A beautiful day!

Is this the cosiest pub lunch around Cheltenham? Possibly! This 500-year-old eatery does an excellent job of capturing the quintessential Cotswold pub experience. My wife and I came for lunch on Thursday around 3 pm tucked ourselves away in a quiet corner and enjoyed updated classic pub fare that remained approachable and unpretentious. The service was pleasant and not overbearing, and though it was quiet the food was spot on. Sometimes the dining experience in restaurants takes a dip at quiet, odd times of day but that wasn't the case here We'll be returning enthusiastically soon to try more of the menu.

We came here with a virgin gift voucher that I’d had for nearly a year, as such we weren’t expecting much in terms of a menu. But even the set menu for my particular package was fantastic! We had delicious food, inc. stone bass, cheese soufflé, lamb roulade all fantastic and perfectly cooked. We then went off the set menu for dessert and additional extras which also did not disappoint. We were sat in the restaurant which had a converted barn feel, but really cosy and had a great atmosphere. Our waiter was amazing, very attentive, extremely friendly and super welcoming, even though service was included we felt we wanted to add more because nothing was too much trouble and he was so passionate about his role and ensuring we had a nice experience. Unfortunately pie was very bland, lacked real depth of flavour. Chips were OK but slightly undercooked and weren't that hot. Had a coke which came with more ice than liquid however they did give me another drink without ice on the house which was very nice of them. The Kings Arms, My wife and her friend just had an interesting experience in pub this afternoon. Let's just say the service was a little cold and unfriendly. They both seem to get stick for choosing where they wanted to sit becuase they both had a push chair and baby, which apparently may get in the way of other customers even though the pub was empty . Plus you they would not honor the two for one drinks deal plastered on the poster in big letters outside . Suddenly they are not doing it. If that's the case do you want to not advertise it . I mean it sounds a bit suspicious. Is it the king arms policy now to discriminate against mothers with young babies? If you are not doing two for one don't advertise that you are !

As for a coconut mocha as my wife is intolorent to normal milk, no apology nor awareness this could have been a danger to someone only that's an extra 40p you must pay. The staff making the food wear no protective clothing especially the males with long hair. Not a place I would recommend.

The Beehive has a friendly atmosphere with great service. The Christmas lunch was really good and the room we had was spacious for the 10 of us. Although there other rooms available for different size parties. Parking could be an issue but bays available on Bath Road for 3 hour slots which was ample. The Beehive did cater for vegan and vegetarians and even asked whether someone wanted dessert without cream just in case. Would go again and would recommend.
