The entire feel of the restaurant area is just cold and awkward, in stark contrast to how the old King's Arms used to feel... myself and my sister had food and drinks here but felt that the staff were very in experienced and the 'posh exterior& interior' of all the lovely tables, napkins etc was just such a mis match. They've kept the old fireplace but it'd not like it was. No personality, no character. Just a boring Prezzo/pizza express type place to eat. A few women came in as we were eating and asked where the bar area was and the woman at the entrance said, oh there isnt a bar area..and the women left. Which a shame as the old King's arms was lovely.

Located directly opposite beautiful Bushy Park, the Kings Arms Hotel is the perfect place to stay for those wanting to participate in the iconic home of the first Parkrun. At least 10 other people in 2 other groups had the same idea as us. It is also very conveniently located to visit Hampton Court Palace (you can see the maze from one of the stairwell windows) with the main visitors’ entrance just a short stroll around the corner. We stayed in the Hampton Suite which suited our family of 4 very well. The beds were super comfortable and the bathroom spacious; just wish we had a longer stay so could have enjoyed the big bathtub. Included in our price was a fabulous breakfast; this included a cold selection of yogurt, cereals, bread, croissants and juice plus a choice of a hot breakfast. We had 2 full English, an eggs benedict with added sausage and an eggs royale which were all delicious and set us up for the day. Staff were friendly and helpful and we were able to leave our bags post check-out. There is very limited free parking (4 spots) outside the hotel and we were not lucky enough to get one but street parking is free from 6pm to 8:30am and there is free parking inside Bushy Park. We would definitely stay here again.

The best location for Hampton Court Palace and Bushy Park Run!! Warm welcome, great service throughout. Room was clean and comfortable with tea, coffee and water (still and sparkling), there was also a Mini bar. Shower was great and the breakfast was delicious. Only thing that might be a concern is that the music from the bar area could be heard in our room evening (but not late) and morning. Definitely recommend.

We popped in for a quick drink after visiting Hampton Court. We were met with smiling faces and a nice welcome. Offered a table and were left a menu. Whilst discussing things our son said he was hungry - a waitress who was passing said the restaurant wasn’t open until 6. We said we were fine. She smiled and said they could do a bowl of chips / that hit the spot! So we ordered a pint of Wimbledon beer, a bottle of Rose and a lemonade plus the chips. We sat chatting for well over an hour and the chips were very much enjoyed. We were asked if we wanted another drink but we declined but the service could not have been nicer. We will be returning for a full meal next time

Having reviewed the restaurant and menu in the morning we booked for Friday night. In particular the Fry’day fish and chips looked good. However it just wasn’t on the menu and it would appear that the website is out of date. Ordered the paella dish. It was very tasty, but the portions were what I’d expect as a starter. The Wahl beer was tasty. Just not quite what was expected from the website, and therefore disappointing.

We went for an afternoon tea and my husband had booked a gluten free afternoon tea for me. The whole experience was pretty disappointing. Firstly, the online menu offered a wide range of teas which my daughter and I were looking forward to trying. However, we could actually have either Earl Grey or Breakfast tea. The gluten free scones completely fell apart unfortunately and weren’t edible. I was told that everything had been freshly baked and the scones clearly were. However, two of the gluten free cakes looked and tasted identical to the ones I usually buy from a well known supermarket. I brought some home from the restaurant, because I didn’t want to eat them at the time. When I compared them with what I had in my own cupboard from the supermarket, I found they were in fact absolutely identical in every way. In my opinion they were the same cakes. Photo attached so you can see the comparison. On the left, the supermarket cakes, on the right, the hotel offering. I don’t think this is acceptable if you are being told that everything is freshly made on site and the price reflects that promise. The Director himself gave me a strong sell of how well they cater for dietary requirements, gave me his business card, and suggested I contact him any time. I wrote to the Director of the Hotel about my experience and showed him the photos of the cakes and my concerns about them being supermarket bought, but received no reply. Not good enough in my opinion. Very disappointing overall and I won’t return.

The Six Restaurant and Bar is an absolutely lovely place for lunch or dinner with family or/and friends. The place is located opposite the Lions Gate of the bushi park, which is a perfect location for those who want to combine great food with a beautiful walk. The restaurant itself is very cosy and bright. The food was fresh and very tasty. It is vegetarian and vegan friendly, so despite quite a small menu, there is no issue with finding something for everyone. We went for a Sunday lunch with a group of friends. We took hummus and halloumi for starters and continued with the vegan toad in the hole, vegan burgers, and two types of fish. We finished with different deserts. However, vegan cheesecake was definitely a winner. Everything that we tried was freshly made and very good quality. And people who work at the restaurant are super friendly and polite. They made us feel welcomed, and they tried everything they could to improve our experience. We will definitely come back.

My family and I went for lunch on a working day after the summer season a little later than lunch time. Other restaurants in the vicinity were closed or out of stock on most menu items. This restaurant welcomed us with a smile and served us ravenous people with a good vegetarian lunch. Prices were reasonable. All in all great value and experience. I would whole heartedly recommend this restaurant. The ambience next to Hampton Court Palace adjacent to the Lion Gate and opposite to the Diana Fountain of Bushy Park is superb.

We don't dine out for Sunday lunch too often, but thought that this place looked good on the website. Big mistake. Firstly, at 1.30, we were the only people in the restaurant, which was a surprise at least. As I am trying not to drink at the moment, I was pleased to see virgin cocktails on the menu, and ordered a Virgin Negroni. The alcoholic version was served, which I didn't mind, but thought it could be embarrassing if I had been allergic - or alcoholic! When you see such a limited menu at a restaurant, you should at least expect those meals to be well prepared. The starters were ok and nicely presented but straight out of a packet pate and mackerel. The biggest disappointment was the roast beef, which was woefully undercooked and cold. So much so, we had to send it back. What was returned was not much better. I love rare roast beef, but this was simply undercooked. The staff were pleasant and attentive - although the manager seemed indifferent to our issue - but the poor food prep is the reason we shan't be returning.

I have no idea why this restaurant isn't more highly rated. Perhaps because it is combined with the hotel?? While it appears under the same name, the restaurant is actually called 'The Six'. A lot of the photos on Tripadvisor are pre-renovation and I would suggest going to the website to see what it looks like now - really attractive. I went with 3 friends for Sunday lunch and we had the pork belly, beef and fish. We were in complete agreement that we had not had a comparable Sunday lunch anywhere in the vicinity. It was extremely good. You were asked how you'd like the beef cooked (not very common with Sunday lunch). The roast potatoes were amazing. The batter on the haddock was beautifully light. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit again.

We were looking for somewhere local to have Sunday lunch. Over the past few months we’d been trying all of the restaurants/ pubs in the area to find out ‘favourite’. The Six Restaurant at The Kings Arms is at the top of the list. The food was amazing. The roast beef and in particular the gravy is sublime. We were too stuffed for dessert! The staff were very friendly and service was at the right pace between courses. The only minor point was it lacked a little ambience as it was very quiet, which surprised us given how good the food is. Excellent food, freshly made. This is the main feature of this restaurant. We visited today the Six restaurant within the King's Arms Hotel with my family and we all have been extremely impressed with the food. We have tried several different dishes and we could not find anything at all that was anything but perfect. Starting from the bread, freshly made served with an excellent butter, ending with the ice-cream, rich and silky, everything was well above our expectations. We shared a local charcuterie board which was lovely , especially the coppa. I had corzetti for started and my wife the scotch egg. Both dishes were perfectly executed and cooked on point. The scotch egg with the running yolk and perfectly fried was excellent. The corzetti were rich and tasty, nicely al dente and the broad beens were nice and sweet cutting the richness of the dish. We also tried the agnolotti, which were just perfect. The rich flavour of the goat cheese was well balanced by the fresh cherry tomatoes and the light broth. These are definitely a MUST ! I had the Saffron risotto and my wife went for the fish and chips. The risotto was ( very uncommon to find) perfectly cooked with the mantecatura executed to perfection. It was well balanced on the flavour and the saffron aromatic note was not hidden by any other flavour. Just the cheese and butter to complete but not overtaking the main aroma. Our son had a burger, nice and juicy and served with a freshly made brioche bun. Even if it was from the kids menu it showed that attention and care were put also for the children food, exactly as it was for the adults. The ice-cream to finish was delicious. Rich and silky. The service was warm, friendly and precise. We had a bottle Gavi and it was extremely nice. Definitely a place that we will visit again in the future and that would recommend to anyone to visit.

We had dinner here with both adults and children on what proved to be a pretty quiet Thursday evening. The restaurant was rather overlit initially, which, together with the white marble tables and black low-back chairs made it somewhat stark. It was not helped that we were among the first guests in what is quite a spacious dining room.Given that the restaurant has been newly renovated, it is not suprising - perhaps a few palms or other sizable plants would help to provide a little more colour and break up the space. The wine list is of a good length, with a selection ranging from the reasonably priced to the more expensive. We chose a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon which became increasingly drinkable as it breathed. The quality of the food ingredients was universally good, and everyone finished the contents of their plates. The childrens' menu is realistic in terms of choice and offers a slimmed down version of some of the adult dishes (ie the burger). There was a single vegetarian option on the main course menu, and no vegan options at all. I ordered two vegeterian starters as a result, but was quite happy with the quantity of food served which is not always the case with starters. I took the beetroot and burrata salad followed by the bluecheese salad. My wife took the cheddar and onion tart. My cousin had the lamb, which was nice and pink, while our older son took the burger - assiduously stripping it of lettuce and onion relish...The only significant meh was given to the chips which lacked flavour.Ketchup and mayonnaise were provided in little Tiptree pots, which are elegant but not terribly environmentally efficient.Service was a little awkward, with a couple of misunderstandings being worked through, but was attentive and well-intentioned.Overall it feels that Six is still finding its feet: the basics are in place, but the menu needs a little more variety (particularly for vegetarians and vegans), the service could be a bit more relaxed and the ambience a little softer to make it cosier.

I stopped here with my two kids after exploring Hampton Court. It couldn’t be closer without being on the palace grounds and we had a lovely lunch.Although the menu offers some exciting looking dishes and no little creativity, on this occasion we went for fish and chips and a burger and I thought the quality was excellent. The chips were wonderful - like great chip shop chips - and the mushy peas some of the best I’ve ever had. It should be said £16 for a fairly polite portion of fish and chips is punchy, even around here, but on the doorstep of Hampton Court you’re inevitably paying tourist prices (see also £6.55 for a pint of lager shandy) - but all considered, I was happy to pay a little more for the convenience of it being right on the gate (and the kids’ menu portions were plenty for my two and far more reasonable at £7).We sat outside and while it is next to a very busy road, they’ve done a good job of hedging it off and creating a nice terrace. There’s still traffic noise, but it was fine. We’ll definitely return.

Well Henry VIII may not have approved of the newly refurbished Kings Arms but there has been no expense spared to bring this previously worn and tired hostelry up to date and what a great job they have done. For a hotel that is next to Hampton Court Palace, it is such a shame that this place has been stripped of any character. The roaring fireplace is now glass brick and there is not a hint of its nearness to the 16th Century Palace apart from the name of the restaurant. The Kings Arms is a fantastic place to eat & drink. The decor is just beautiful and typical 'Hampton Court style' - making it so atmospheric. The have big, tudor-style tables with dark wooden beans and also a wonderful fire place with big, studded, leather sofas. It really is like stepping back in time (in a good way, of course) - this place obviously has a lot of history. The food choices are pretty limited but that has never really posed a problem for us personally. They have roast dinners, sausage and mash, fish and chips and also a kids menu (last time i checked). The food has always been at a very high standard. The drink is also very good and fairly priced. Staff are excellent, very attentive and friendly. They also have a generous amount of outside seating. Third year running we've eaten here as a family after a day out at the Hampton Court Flower Show. There were 8 of us booked in for 8pm and it was a big disappointment compared to previous years. First there was a skeleton menu. We were told they'd sold out of most things as they'd been so busy. We ended up with seven fish n chips and a burger. Took an age to arrive. And after deliberating on desserts we were told (admittedly very apologetically by our charming waitress) that they'd finished serving food. We were dumbfounded. They offered ice cream.

We were a group of 18 who had prebooked for a lunch after a walk round Bushy Park. The pub is in a prime position next to Hampton Court and always looks very inviting from the outside. The atmosphere was good in the bar and the staff friendly. However, the menu was limited, although we were told on booking that we could choose from the main menu if necessary and preorder. They had no salad left and ran out of ham for sandwiches before we had all ordered. My chicken sandwich was made with the end of the loaf next to the crust so was hard and almost stale. The coleslaw was not nice, made with vinaigrette rather than mayonnaise I think. Chips were ok. Disappointing and a shame.

The pub backs on to Hampton Court which was excellent for an event there. There are very limited parking spaces and it is difficult to feel comfortable with your car retained at Her Majesty's pleasure in Bushy Park overnight. The room was shabby and did not feel worthy of its name Henry Tudor after a visit to the Palace, but it worked. The breakfast was good

We were visiting friends and family in Molesey and decided on an overnight in this local pub with rooms. The rooms themselves were a bit themed around Royals, with four-poster beds and lots of gold and mirrors. The beds were comfortable, but the attention to detail was definitely not royal standard, sadly.Parking proved difficult, with the hotel on the main road. Although it stated in the booking that free parking was available, this was misleading as there are only three dedicated spots outside the pub, with the rest permitted bay parking. Shower rooms were a bit dated and could do with some reinvestment, but the rooms themselves were decent enough and the traffic on the main road outside was not really noticeable despite our room (Henry VIII) being at the front. We had dinner here, which was decent pub grub but nothing more. At over £11 for a burger, and nearly £13 for a pie, I expected a bit more to be honest. Breakfast in the morning was similar - fine, but nothing more. It was a shame that the glasses, cutlery and crockery were all a bit streaky and in need of sparkle. I probably wouldn't opt to stay here again, but it did the job and I hope that my review will not be taken too personally, and may help them to look at some improvements.

The Kings Arms dates back to the 17th century and the rooms reflect this with the furnishings. We had a two night break here and the staff were very pleasant and friendly. Breakfast was very good and freshly cooked to order, there was also juices, cereals, fruit and croissants for you to help yourself. We would certainly stay there again.

Call in here for breakfast. Looked good on the menu, but failed to meet expectations. My Breakfast listed sautéed potatoes which did not materialise, back or streaky bacon, I ordered back which did arrive. My wife ordered poached egg on toast with streaky. She received back bacon. Food OK, but check what is available before you order. We were not advised of shortages, or offered alternatives.

A lovely olde world feeling to this hotel, although the room did not match the look of the rooms on their website and could have done with redecorating. The toilet needed replacing. Most of the staff were very welcoming. The breakfast was very good.Ideal place to stay when visiting Hampton Court Place.

Good beer selection and quality. Not impressed with the food, which was mediocre at best. Considering the price and the business of the place, I was expecting something a little less drier and plain. Children were particularly unimpressed with their food.

I stayed in a beautiful room known as the 'Jane Seymour' suite, inspired by the good old Henry the Eighth! I had 'Catherine Parr' suite next to me alongside 'Tudor Rose'. It was a lovely stay in the hotel, the staff were kind, professional and made me feel very welcome and comfortable. You can order in or buy food and bring in which I found very generous of them. They offer a delicious cooked breakfast along side some cold food...not many shops and amenities nearby you can always take a 10 minute walk past the fabulous well known maze and you will find a good row of shops, restaurants and pubs....the service was brilliant! Would definitely recommend and would love to come back and stay again....In regards to some reviews about the coldness, the rooms soon heated if you left the radiator on long enough!

This is an interesting pub /hotel in a perfect location right next to the entrance gate to Hampton Court Palace. The building retains many unique features all of which add to its undoubted character. We were staying close by so we visited on a couple of occasions. The food wasn't bad, but expensive for what it was, but the worst aspect was the truly awful tasting beer, which was flat and not well kept. I tried several different brews and each was as bad. Whoever's in charge of the beer needs to have a re-think!

We visited as a family for lunch on 30 December. Our table was in a room outside the general bar area. There was absolutely no heating and we complained stating that it was warmer outside than inside. We were offered no form of heat. When our food arrived it also was cold and uninviting.

I love the atmosphere at KA and husband and I went there for a Christmas drink with our dog. The pub allows dogs and children and it is major plus. The pub is very beautiful, authentic, good beer, friendly service, original fireplace; always a joy to visit.

Service was ok - stuff often chatting rather than serving. 2 x roasts: Trimmings excellent, massive crispy Yorkshire pudding. Beef was tough and probably needed slicing more thinly. Pork better, although fat was soft rather than crispy. Only two potatoes? Uninspiring pudding menu.
