Brilliant local estate pub right next to local shops staff are very friendly and welcoming free wi-fi live tv sports and pool table and dart board toilets are not the best the grub is nice but ain't been here since covid and visited today and watched the England game was busy and played a few games of pool had Chicken katsu for dinner which was really nice always a lovley atmosphere here

For being a Greene king pub , they did alright We enjoyed the visit! Highlight is the pool table , no queues to play , also 5£ shots offer is a must Football on everywhere if you a fan. Service isn't bad, food could be better obviously as per usual Gk Villagers compensate as always nice to talk to locals, Tesco and a chippy round the corner if you fancy something different ATM round the corner Smoking area and dog friendly, bring It in !

Assistant manager was extremely rude and confrontational.

Went for a meal, have not been to The kingy for many years, I used to work there back in the day and was really looking forward to it... The football was on, it was on loud all over the pub. So we could not enjoy our meal as we were having to shout over each other to be heard and understood. The customer service was non existent, such poor service by the two people who were working. Safe to say will not be returning.

We had a wonderful time celebrating Christmas with family. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The table was decorated with tinsel and crackers. The food was excellent. We will definitely be recommending the Kingfisher to friends and family and we will definitely be returning very soon.

Not good. We booked this place for a family get together before Christmas to exchange gifts and have a nice meal together… what a mistake! On booking we asked for a table of 13, and specifically asked not to be separated.. What we were given was a table of 6, table of 4 and 2 tables of 2! All very well it was on a ‘stage’ where we were all in the same area, but most definitely not together! We all ate separately and didn’t see each other face to face properly. It would not have been difficult for a pub of this size to push 3 tables of 4 together and seat us all together and possibly 1 on the end of that. We had all driven 1-2 hours from Wiltshire and Hertfordshire to be together and that’s why we chose the location as it was about halfway. On arrival we were informed that if we wanted roast dinner there was no beef available and turkey was the only option. That was ok as we had already decided to order from the regular menu, but that too ended up being a problem. Most wanted steaks but these were also in short supply. After 2 orders they had to run back to the kitchen to see how much steak was left! Our waitress was excellent and the only reason Iv given 2 stars and not 1 is the fact she came and wrote down our orders at the tables (4 of them) after we went to order at the bar and asked for a pen and paper… however, as we were all on separate tables the food came out very sporadicly so those of us that had something in front of us had to get on with it before it went cold. The main reason for me writing this review is the shocking customer service I received from one server there.. she would get zero stars from me and the rest of my family present. I had received my meal, a sirloin steak (cold) that should have been medium rare. On cutting into it, it was medium well and definitely on the well done side. I called her over to show her my steak was well done, to which she replied “no it’s not” and walked off!! I watched her go back to to kitchen shaking her head like we were a pain in the arse for being there and not ordering the easy roast they are geared up for on a Sunday. The nice waitress did apologise and tried to make things right, but it was a bit too little too late. We (mostly) ate our meals as we were all hungry after our journeys but definitely not you would expect from a Green king pub and certainly not what we are used to from a Green king where we live! Filthy finger prints all over the toilet doors and dirty windows are least of this pub’s problems.. rude staff are what makes or breaks somewhere like this, but I’m sure the locals love the place…. A lot of money was spent in that pub today but there will not be a return of business which is as shame as location great for us but.. 1 member of staff ruined the whole experience and we most definitely won’t bother in future.

Fin was very helpful and so was the manager Lottie, what a difference these to made to my experience is unmatched, great service all round

Standard pub fare, friendly service. Fairly busy sports bar, small dining area. Clean and great for a quick meal with friends.

Some of food wasn't available when ordering and also on kids menu. Wasn't no apology or anything. We then go to order ice cream and was told my kids have 1 hour wait as they are busy. We are a paying customer and shouldn't take 1hr for something that take 2min to make out of the freezer. Especially expecting 3 kids to wait 1 hour for ice cream is just ridiculous. They wasn't overly busy and we only see a couple dishes whole time while say eating our main. Won't be coming back for dinner as everytime we always get told " not available today " Drinks ok and good price but food I would avoid unless you want to wait or expect something different

Popped in for impromptu lunch with my sister. Didn't take pics but had nachos (too much salsa all out on one side), chicken steps n sweet chilli sauce was yummy, didn't care for the cheese with chilli things but my sister loved the garlic mushrooms.

Great pub, visited many times and always feel welcome and relaxed. Food is always cooked nice, bar staff are excellent, and go out of their way to ensure we have everything we need, whilst creating a lovely, friendly atmosphere for all ages. Look forward to visiting again soon💃🍷🕺

Dog friendly pub,with a dog food menu. friendly staff and very helpful. We went for drinks and chips as there chips there are yummy. This is also a child friendly pub with the park in visual distance to theor garden.

Stopped off for lunch with my daughter on Tuesdsay. Pub was spotlessly clean and food was delicious and fresh. Lex was working alone behind the bar and as the the time went on business really picked up. Lex did fantastically to handle the customers (both food and drinks) single handedly and in timely fashion. Fantastic place, good parking and a park right next door. Would recommend.

Not a bad place. Staff friendly. However staff need to he mindful with cleaning. As sitting at the tables they smelt of beer and that was opening time. The pub should have been smelling fresh and aired but unfortunately this wasn't the case.

Love the fact the first game of pool is free! Even had a small cue available! Cute little pub that was refreshing after being at the playpark opposite! Plenty of seating available inside and outside.

My local pub, nice beer garden, lots of TVs that show sport, good variety of drinks and fantastic pint prices, darts, odd entertainment night, excellent staff, pool table and darts board.

I visit this place for the first time 15/07/2022 time 3:20 to 3:31 staff are very the staff was really rude I try payment first time I think the payment was going true so I took the drink and went to sit down after 2mn the lady back to tell me the payment declined so I ask my husband to go and payment my husband try the payment second time is declined so the lady ask other staff to go and collect the food from the table where my kids are eating my husband told then try again then the third payment going true the card was freeze that why….. but why ask to collect back food from kids without speak with the client? She has a nasty look …. So bad experience

Popped in tonight and pleased to see that the 'Willen Hospice' meat raffle continues. Nice to see 'old faces' and catch up. The garden was busy and the inside filling up. Food going out looked presentable.

We have been coming here for meals the past few weeks with my two daughters and my first grand child the chef is fantastic and even when they have run out of items on menu she knows what we like and still manages to make up the same food 100% lovely food and the bar lady with glasses is always more than friendly love coming here now

Its decent, food is standard pub food, however very little vegetarian option. The vegan burger bun was rock solid, couldnt even bite into it. Good and cheap to get drunk tho 🙌

Lovely food, fantastic service. Only let down massively by other customers. We booked for a meal at 5pm and weren't the only people there with young children but other customers even at that time seemed so fuelled with alcohol they had no thought for children around them and were constantly using the most appalling language. I would have expected going out at 5pm it would still be suitable for families but I wouldn't bring them here again.

Nice pub and good food served fast. Ham egg and chips followed by sticky toffee pudding with a pint of Green King IPA. What could be better for a Thursday lunchtime.

Great family dine in atmosphere and is a pretty good sports bar ! The service speed was extremely fast and very good ! Also the food was delicious , well cooked and tasty ! This restaurant/pub has good wheel-chair access and parking ! I definitely recommend this place and will be going back ! (Menu below!)

Greeted in a friendly and welcoming manner. Fast service from a friendly waitress who made our afternoon out a great experience.

Food was nice, as where the drinks. However, it was a struggle to get cutlery and condiments. We used the app, which resulted in us waiting over half an hour for our drinks. You also have to put a five pound deposit behind the bar for the cues for the pool table, which isn't an issue. It was that they gave me chalk for the dart board, which still wasn't the end of the world. However, when I tried to get the deposit back a member of staff, was very rude to the point of threatening. Infront of other costumers, that I had supposedly taken the pool table chalk. She then made a scene about it. It was very embarrassing as I only came in for some food with the family. She just had a massive chip on her shoulder. The rest of the staff where very pleasant and accommodating.

Best pub I've been to in long time great pub grub cheap,lovely inside outside brilliant loafs of space great for all great park right next to it if bringing kids ,staff couldn't be more accommodating waiting and management 👌spot on definitely recommended

It's a lovely pub. BE warned do not use their app for ordering. Obviously you pay up front the 1st 2 rounds were unbelievably slow and they were not even busy. The 3rd was 45minutes I had to approach the bar and ask. My order was left on the bar with beer juice all over the ticket because they had run out of a particular drink . Couldn't be bother to inform us. I was told they would amend this and it would be sorted as a priority. 15 minutes later we had to approach the bar again. This is unbelievably bad and there's no way it can be justified. The senior female member of staff who I approached had just disappeared. Get served at the bar or don't bother. Anyone from this establishment who thinks they can defend this service please call me Steve! A very fair person when it comes to reviews

ANIMAL CRUELTY All I want to say is that whoever put goldfish on display, what they have done is very cruel. They overfeed the goldfish (which results in higher nitrate levels harming the fish), the water is dirty (it looks like they do it once a month), there is no thermometer to measure the temperature. Sharp objects in the tank which can cut the fish. The tank is tiny for goldfish. This person clearly isn't aware goldfish can live up to 10 years and need a bigger tank to grow. As soon as I saw it. I wanted to leave. Says a lot about whoever is the running the place, that they allow poor fish to be on display in dirty water, in a small tank like they are ornaments not living creatures. And it sits behind the bar. At least have some decency to research into what you're buying. Please do not listen to pets at home advice, literally just google it. I wonder where those poor fish are now, hope they haven't been left in the pub during lock-down. Won't be surprised if it becomes neglected and they have DEAD fish on display.

Best place I've been with the family in a long time with a park next to the amazing beer garden and the staff was very friendly and I felt like they where taking the Corona virus very seriously with someone going around cleaning all the time

Great family pub with great food & friendly staff

My daughter eat in there with her parents and two boys on the 13th of December 2019 she had to return the food twice as it was cold and the second time was still cold and rock.heard she completed to a member of staff she spoke to someone higher and all thay got back was four icecream she will never eat in.that pub again. The lady who she had spoken to said thay have had a lot of complaints so I think someone needs to.look in to this. As a family and loads of friend who live on the estate will not be visiting the pub again ..
