King May in Thanet

Ordered and was told 1 hour wait , we were happy to accept this order. Food arrived and when my son poured some on his plate the oil swam out of the container before any sauce, the chicken balls were swimming in oil in the bag and the satay sauce was also topped with oil, when I called to let them know I was told ok will do better next time! I explained it was not edible and they could collect it or I would return it, I was told no refund as it’s a £60 order and we can have 10% off next time, I tried to explain what customer service was and having ordered here for over 20 years( aware it has changed hand and telephone staff) I’ve never had to complain. I also stated £6 off when £60 of food was not edible was an insult, and quite frankly do not wish to order from them again, I was told ok sorry to lose you as a customer and hung up on me. I will be returning this food on my way to my night shift and never returning, I accept busy nights things get complacent but rudeness and manners cost nothing

Ordered on line always takes so long. When you phone they are so rude and just say order is on its way before you even give your address!!

Despite having a problem with late delivery. The food was fresh and tasty and everyone enjoyed their meal and I will order again.

Fantastic takeaway last night, incredibly helpful regarding gluten free options for our student, was the food worth it ??? DEFINITELY, loads of flavour and really helpful staff. Will definitely use again.

What a fantastic find. Here on hols and did my research as to which local place to get some Chinese takeaway. That research led me here, and I’m glad it did. Faultless. We ordered online late afternoon, for collection. The takeaway called to ask if we wanted our food early at the point they opened. With hungry family to feed I said yes and headed down there. Minor negative is that it’s pretty impossible to park nearby so take someone to hop out and collect. Very friendly on the phone and in person. Food was top notch. Enjoyed by all, and we are super picky with our Chinese. We all rated it better than our local one, which we have spent much time and money settling upon. So that was a nice surprise. Prices good We had salt and chilli chicken, sweet and sour chicken balls, egg fu yung, egg fried rice, plain chow mein and chips. All excellent. And no heavy aftertaste. Almost sad to be going home tomorrow as we won’t get to have it again. Choose here. Your research ends now.

We have been using May King for years. They have always been good but always willing to try different places. For over a year now, they have been under new ownership. In that time, they took it to a different level. The food is amazing. Everytime. Can't fault them. Now we go nowhere else.

Tried the May King for the first time. What a fantastic meal. All delicious, very quickly prepared and with none of the usual salt hangover associated with Chinese takeaway. Will now be our go-to Chinese takeaway. Thanks

Tried this Chinese whilst working in the area. Food was perfect, since then we have changed our usual Chinese to here.

New owners and it’s even better than before - much better choose available now and they deliver - my new favourite Chinese.

This takeaway is now under new ownership. We've been using the May King on and off for many years. It was never the best so tended to try different places. We thought we would give it another try now it's under new ownership. Have to say it is amazing. Can not fault it. This is now my favourite Chinese takeaway in Thanet. Highly recommended.

Duck with Fried Rice, and Salt 'n' Pepper Ribs £11.80. Both products were well prepared, tasty and a good sized portion. Service was a little slow, and a bit abrupt, and the wait for the food was a little long, but acceptable.

Fast service,and polite and efficient. Special Curry,Fried Riceand Spare Ribs,all fror just over £11. Ribs were well prepared and very tasty with chilli spice. Fried rice was not so good,not much fried flavour,and the curry was flavoursome,and had plenty of ingredients.

I get a Chinese at least once a week This is by far the best Chinese takeaway in this area it's so good they don't even need to do free deliveries and May the lady who runs it is very helpful ( i don't have onions in any of my dishes ) and friendly 10/10 all day long

May is fantastic and the food used to be stunning, today,,,,,,,,,,,chicken satay was, watery and tasteless, there was NO peanut flavour, it was the consistency of baby puke and tasted worse than that. The chicken curry was on the same par, would I eat here again, ????????????? only if dog poo became the only thing in the world to eat. SOOOOOOOOOO dissapointed. Where is the old May King???? The new one needs to revert back to the original, where the food was bang on and actually had flavour.

We have been using may king for nearly thirty years. We have tried various other Chinese establishments, but have that may king is the best. The food is excellent and there’s always a polite welcome from may and her staff hence the five stars...

My first visit to May King despite the fact they have been open for more than 30 years. I phoned our order in advance the meal was ready in ten minutes just in time for my pick up. The meal we had was hot,fresh and one of the best takeaways we have had in the area and reasonably priced . We'll be back !

Read review so thought we try tonight. I have never tasted such a bland meal in my life,the smell when opened was bad enough and the food was awful, We will stick to the Chinaman inFoster Ave from now on 🤬

Chinese was good, not the greatest but by far not the worst! Food was hot, was nice to hear the sound of a sizzling pan coming from the kitchen rather than the ding of a microwave! Will return1

The beef in oyster sauce was predominantly beansprouts and slightly tough beef. The sweet and sour veg was very much on the sweet side. The spring rolls were OK but the spare ribs were good. Overall it scrapes a 3 out of 5.

Un amigo me recomendó este lugar y pensamos en vez de la Pagoda o la península sin probarlo. Pedimos a las 6. 45 y dijeron a unos 35 minutos. Llegamos a tiempo y después de un tiempo para encontrar £50 orden nos dijeron que no estaba listo, ni idea de cuánto. Estaba claro que había gente allí más de lo que habíamos sido y sin idea de plazos. Otros 20 minutos y otra investigación por plazos. A 5 minutos se rió con suerte. Otros 15 minutos y nos dieron nuestra comida. Eso fue 85 minutos después del pedido inicial. Teniendo en cuenta el precio que podría tener bien he tenido una comida fuera. La comida, especialmente el llamado carne crujiente chili era normal en el mejor. Las costillas estaban bien y arroz es el arroz. No vamos aquí

Acerca de hace 27 años, tuve mi gusto 1 de comida china de Mayo King. Todo lo que puedo decir es que todavía es un excelente familiar tome distancia, probablemente el mejor en Broadstairs. El personal amable y conocedor/saber asiduos por su nombre. Son conscientes de la intolerancia a los alimentos, así puede asesorar y ajuste/recomendar si lo solicita. La comida siempre es buena y las porciones son bien llenos. Hay estacionamiento limitado en la zona, normalmente nos park sobre el puente del tren y caminar durante 2 minutos.Mi único comentario es que hay que poner un "no perros, excepto perros de ayuda" política por la ley como la igualdad. La zona de espera es acogedor, unos pocos asientos en cada lado, pero el espacio es pequeño y si eres alérgico asmático como yo, no hay suficiente espacio para el aire, si otro cliente trae en otros mongrel, un pecho apretado y los ojos picazón pronto sigue a menos que esperar fuera.

We ordered from this takeaway while staying in Broadstairs recently. The food was very good and we enjoyed it. It is collection only but we would definitely visit again if in the area.

Bueno, qué puedo decir! Vamos aquí años y nunca he tenido una mala comida. No entregar o tomar pagos con tarjeta, así que es otro punto a tener en cuenta, pero nada de eso importa en lo que a mí respecta, la comida china es para morirse. Mayo es muy amigable. Le ruego que pruebe una de las p' elementos en el menú, especialmente el asado de cerdo con arroz frito y salsa barbacoa - es divina

Been using May King for over 20 years. Have now converted all of my friends and the in laws. Would not go anywhere else. Always Sooo tasty. And staff are lovely.

No hacen entregas que no es práctico pero también dice que una cantidad enorme por la calidad de la comida que después de mudarnos una pequeña distancia y las pruebas de un número de otros sitios chinos (incluyendo que entregar así que son mucho más conveniente) que hayan recurrido a regresar a mayo king para conseguir mi comida china, ya que es tan bien. Hay que destacar que no aceptan tarjetas, así que asegúrate de llevar dinero en efectivo con usted.
