Ordered special chow main absolutely disgusting. Went straight in the bin ,never again they are alright taking your money and serve a pile of slop

Have been before food was excellent. This time food was very bland chicken was not cooked. Fish and chips the fish was overcooked and the fish was in breadcrumbs. I would not recommend this restaurant. There are plenty of restaurants in Woolton Village to pick from. Give this one a miss.

Not the place to go if your celiac they have not gluten free options what so ever. Went to Ying Wah just up the road much more accommodating. Get your act together King Do

Very upset, to be honest, I've had some great takeaways from this establishment before, but tonight I ordered a duck dish which when I got home had about two teaspoons is orange sauce within the meal, I phoned and he was adamant to the point of calling me a liar that their was sace within, he said I will refund so I walked back to be greeted with a huge hurry and the words go on several occasions, obviously think they never wrong and the customer is.. hugely disappointed

Very expensive. The restaurant is extremely cold so we actually put our coats back on. The food is nice however the staff are very serious and unfriendly.There isn’t any parking onsite so you have to park along the main road and walk a few minutes.

I've never been in a restaurant (I'm 70) and experienced such dull, disinterested and lethargic waiters in all my life. No energy, no enthusiasm and totally detached from their customers paying good money for pretty much below average food. If you like your food laden with cornflour and other thickening agents this is the place for you - they can't even get the 'chinese chicken curry' dish right - totally bland and tasted of flour than anything else. Yes, there is a very good reason why this restaurant was deserted at prime time of an evening and you don't have to be a Michelin Star inspector to see why. It's a no from me.

Our waiter was lovely couldn’t fault him, but would be the last time eating there. No baby change facilities, my partner had to change out 7 week old baby on the changing mat on top of the males toilets which are small at the best of times.

The woman who serves us is so rude, I'm guessing she is the owner. I go here weekly and she always treats us awful. she moaned last night about where we sat the baby on the table. she made us sit her other side of table, we had a huge six people table tucked away in no ones way. then tried to make us move table, then to top it off I took the baby over to see the fish tank but she told me its not safe because of the kitchen but the kitchen is other side, the fish tank is in reception. Always makes us feel not welcomed & my guest felt the same too.

Me and a couple of friend’s had a really good time and meals at this place last night. Staff member who served us was great and the food was fantastic. I would really recommend the beef satay.

Love this place following the "upgrade' of the nearby alternative - which has priced us out this has become more of a staple it's not 5 star by any stretch of the imagination, but it's Woolton village, who'd expect 5, 4 or even 3 star dining it's honest, well prepared, tasty food the staff can come across a little disinterested or distant at times, but we don't go for the sparkling entertainment yes the soft drinks are extortionately expensive, show me dine in restaurant were they aren't food is consistently very good, staff are pleasant enough even in busy times, even happy to make changes to banquets and make recommendations have been coming for over 30 years and will continue to do so one of the best chinese around and certianly in Woolton

Well where to begin…… This restaurant was actually our 4th choice Chinese one due to no availability or that bit to far to travel. It was 4th choice to a bad experience a few years ago. But not one to cling onto the past thought why not give them another chance. When we walked in it was dead, Which obviously wasn’t as good sign. The far superior Chinese restaurant up the road was fully booked for the next 3 hours. From the second we were seated it felt like I’d made the wrong decision. My bum wasn’t even on the seat and I was hurriedly getting asked for my drink order. Wasn’t much long after I was getting asked for my food order. The whole attitude of the staff was off putting as it felt like they didn’t want to be there and couldn’t be bothered serving us. Fast forward to the end of the starters. Food is nice upto this point. As the starters are cleared any food that was left on the plates are just taken away. No communication as to wether we were finished or would like to keep hold of any starters we hadn’t managed to eat. Then orders another round of drinks for the new drinks to be put down and the old glasses cleared, Regardless of any drink being left in them. Even if it was a third of a glass of extortionately priced coke that probably went straight down the sink. Now here is the nail in the coffin. Mains arrived. All piping hot and looking lovely. My partner and I were taking turns to feed our 1 year old bits and pieces from our plates. (This is probably why they couldn’t be bothered to serve us as they see the mess babies make, Even though we always ask for a dustpan and brush to clean up ourselves) about 5/10 mins into tucking in my partner pulls a inch long frazzled hair from the boiled rice which turned all of our stomachs having already fed this to our young baby. So not to make a scene in the middle of the slightly picked up restaurant floor, I put the said hair and clump of boiled Rice attached to it on a side plate and approached the bar area to speak to someone. I asked to speak to a manager. Now who I spoke to is No manager. Had the people skills Of a ironing board. All I was repeatedly offered was the boiled rice off the bill even though all 3 adults had pushed there meals away from them in disgust. I would have happily paid for all drinks and starters which i thought was fair. While this conversation was going on a waitress had hurrily ran the hairy boiled rice into the back never to Be seen again. (Stupidly should have taken a photo) the waitress then returned to tell me we had nearly finished our mains. I can categorically say all mains had over 60/70% left on the plate. I could see I was getting nowhere with the “manager” regarding the bill so reluctantly paid over £100 minus the “boiled rice” I vowed never to return as long as I live and must inform others not to attempt to eat here. Not least for the terrible attitude of staff but for the disgusting practise of not being bothered that they have hairs in their food.

A really enjoyable experience food was excellent all the staff were really friendly and helpful would definitely recommend and will definitely be visiting again

Booked a table for my 50th for 15 people to be told 3 separate tables when we arrived we asked could we then push tables together they replied yes then said the bill couldn't be split over 3 people had to be all together asked if they had a children's menu to be told no just Chinese food then asked for a platter to then see it was 10.00 per person the food was oki bit bland service was appaling no customer service felt as though not welcome female staff was trying to help but male staff terrible ignorant bill was over 400 with drinks would not return or recommend this restaurant.

Went to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday and had a gorgeous meal, service excellent and even the house wine was lovely. We had one of the set meals and everything was delicious. Very happy we went and will definitely go again.

Went to collect a takeaway order and I checked the bag and they had forgotten the chicken fried rice. I raised this and the waiter went and told the kitchen.... about 4 mins later he came back with chicken fried rice. I opened it up at home and it was awful. Clearly rushed it after their mistake. Was a pitiful amount compared to other places that charge a lot less and it had a horrible greasy smell to it. I have eaten in the restaurant before and had a nice evening apart from, like others have said, they tend to bring meals out at different times which can be frustrating when wanting to eat together. The price of eating in and taking away doesn't reflect the quality.

Visited on Saturday night & glad I booked as was very busy. Delicious food & good value for money. Been a number of times now & never been disappointed. Become our go-to Chinese if in the area & can get a table. Would recommend the crispy duck, shredded chicken in chilli with carrots & sizzling beef with spring onions- absolutely delicious 😋. Would highly recommend 👍

Disappointing visit, service very slow and staff not attentive. We ordered combination banquet but starters dry and over cooked. Crispy duck nice but small portion with only 4 pancakes. Would have ordered dessert but not offered just given fortune cookies.

We booked a table for 5pm, no problem. Restaurant is slightly cold even when sat down and settled. Staff seem pleasant. Very polite. We had ordered pawn crackers chicken and noodle soup which was very pleasant. Prawn crackers we fresh and very fluffy. We received out soup within 5 minutes of ordering. Please note the food was fresh... we then ordered a Singapore vermicelli and salt and pepper chips & curry sauce. Warm plates arrived at our tavke although cooled down with the wait time of our meal. If the restaurant served the plate within a 5 minute window before food is served then it would keep our food warm. Mainly a bit of advice for the restaurant moving forward. The Singapore vermicelli was served on a different dish which was cold, although the food was very hot. It was served fresh and cooked correctly. Everything seemed fresh. Too many been sprouts though. Plenty of prawns again cooked beautifully. The salt and pepper chips were seasoned beautifully and again freshly made. The curry sauce was thick and mild. In my eyes good for this combination of food. Beautiful restaurant staff very pleasant. FREE fortune coockies are served at the end of a meal upon asking for bill. Food looks overpriced but given the area and quantity, it is value for money based on this particular meal. We WILL revisite as always. Food 5* Overall experience 4* Advise to restaurant - Serve food on warm plates and hear the restaurant a little more. Very pleased with service

Restaurant was quiet not a great sign. We were rushed and virtually taking our plates away before we had finished. Staff cold and not engaging. Forgettable experience. Unclear how they can trade with such better offerings in the area. Won’t return!

Food has always been tasty but I had an extremely bad experience with a male staff member. Rude, laughed in my face and didnt care. Absolutely disgusting. This was when I was picking up a takeaway mean that didnt advertise it had cashew nuts in it. On bringing it home I saw the nuts, and returned it. Staff member argued with me. I showed how it was advertised. He told me that it was an old menu I had seen. It was the most recently posted menu on facebook. Now it has been removed, which i suppose is one good thing. Never been back. Felt disgusted by him laughing in my face.

Visited the king do tonight for an 18th birthday celebration with a large group of family 20+ Recommended from my visit a few weeks ago at the bottom of the menu states please inform members of staff of any allergies on arrival tonight when people had started ordering food I stayed my son had a nut allergy to be told there was nothing they could do, I asked if they could not just cook his food in another pan as he cannot come into contact with any direct nut to be told no they don’t do it, surely with this day and age they have surely got to move forward to try and adapt to peoples needs not through choice, he had to sit in the restaurant whilst everybody else in the party was eating , I wouldn't have brought him to the restaurant if I hadn’t seen the menus false information or I would have called the restaurant before pre booking tables to see where I stood with the nut allergy procedure, he felt very intimidated as he doesn’t like to singled out certainly would cone again very unhelpful.

We paid £35 for takeaway from here tonight, it was so bland I took a covid test to check my taste buds, seriously! I don't mind paying for good food but this was outrageous, £13.50 for 'special' chow mein, extortionate! Even when they take 10% off for takeaway, £12.15 is still ridiculous!! Siu mai - tasteless, sweet & sour chicken - tasteless, chow mein - tasteless. To top it off, the chips were plain awful. Most of it all went in the bin, waste of time and money, all were left with is heartburn and a hole in our pockets.

Just called in to the King Do after a lovely evening walk with my husband. Ordered Won ton soup for starters. How can anyone get wonton soup wrong. Red coloured broth. Oblong shaped wonton with cardamom pods in them. An Indian seed. Awful experience biting in to it. Then beef curry for the main. I could smell the corn flower as it arrived. Thick gloopy green splodge with a tiny bit of onion and about five pieces of meat. Will not return. Spoiled my lovely evening.

We have been visiting the King do for many years now. I have never had a bad meal. The staff are friendly and professional and the food is great. The place has had a face lift since I've last been there and looks great.

We had a banquet as part of the New Year’s Eve offering. The soup and prawn crackers were fine, but the sharing platter with ribs, prawn toast, spring rolls and Sui Mai was luke warm at best. The duck was served with four pancakes, 2 each which was no where near enough for the amount of duck, nor have I ever been to a Chinese restaurant before ever which only gives 2 pancakes each on the duck course! The mains were okay, again not overly warm. Like other reviewers have said the service isn’t great, you have to ask for everything, never asked if you want another drink or if the food is okay. They were doing a lot of takeaway food so presumably staff were occupied more with that the customers spending money in the restaurant which is an odd approach.

Been to king do today but is ruined our evening staff so miserable and is a bad service, they can’t tell the costumers to control their children shouting and screaming,and think they are in the playground and parent can’t control their kids , not recommended...

Surly staff, uncontrolled children playing hide and seek under the tables and a long wait for the food. The one star is for the food which was good when it arrived. When a complaint was made to the staff about the children we were told "they are not our children". When we queried our order the waiter was borderline rude and aggressive. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT.

I made the fatal error of not downloading their takeaway menu so I could see prices. I'd downloaded other menus from other restaurants so I figured their prices would follow suit. How wrong I was. For a soup, a portion of sui mai and chicken blackbean with fried rice cost me £23..I was charged just under £9 for a small takeaway portion of sui mai. Unless you're very rich..avoid.

The food was lovely here, although the atmosphere was horrendous. It was very rowdy from start to finish and we couldn't hear eachother talk through the sheer screaming of other customers. There were kids running around our table constantly, knocking into us, and grown men shouting across us for the whole time we were there. Obviously I know this place can't control their clientele, but it's a real shame the staff didn't intervene with the pure chaos going on, it would have been a totally different experience if there were a few more boundaries put in place for the sake of smaller groups of paying customers.

Been here loads of times and food is great, king do ribs and salt and pepper ribs are superb. It's just been refurbished and looks great, the only criticism I would have is that it's Actually cold in there, turn the heating up!

Arrived at 6.50pm with the intention of ordering the Early Evening Banquet. The restaurant was approximately a third full. We ordered a bottle of wine and perused the menu, placing our food order at 7.05pm, to be told rather rudely that we were not entitled...

Been coming to this restaurant since I was in my teens for family occasions(over 30years). Never once have I had a bad experience with food, service or staff, food prices very reasonable. Excellant. However, I have only scored 4* as I was very disappointed with the price for soft drinks. A pint of cordial and soda water was £3.80 (shocking) pub prices £1.00, small bottle of coca cola £2.60 (shocking). No draft coca cola which normally would of been £1.50. To charge £3.80 for a cordial is disgusting. Good job I only stuck with the one. They dont record what you have had but put it down as one amount. I checked the prices this time round as we were stung a couple of weeks ago. We had 1bottle of budweiser, 2 small bottles of cola and 2 pints of cordial and soda water £16.80. Other restaurants and pubs would of charged £8.60 min. No consideration for non alcohol drinkers. Why not purchase 330ml cans and sell for £1.50? Cordial £1.00 (water or soda). Maybe the restaurant would of been full if you didnt over charge on soft drinks.

Not been here for about 10 years, certaintly dont remember being Charged £4 for a pint of carlsberg out of a can!! Place seems dirty, Food was very quick! Simple chicken Maykway curry. Standard food, seemed like a was in an eat all you can £8 buffet place just got less for my money, 2 people was a Waste of £60, never to return anyway, shame.

I used to go here many years ago for family meals with my parents. Having not been in many years I can honestly say that the food and service are as fab now as they were all them years ago. Staff are attentive and helpful without being intrusive. I had the duck with orange, a firm favourite of mine and it was awesome! Love this place and I will always recommend and always keep returning. Well done King Do!
