Chau’s in Liverpool

Used Chaus for over 10 years always gorgeous food. Ordered fish chips and mushy peas tonight, awful fish really greasy and chips very small and overcooked. Disgusting wont be ordering afain.

Normally a nice chippy to eat from but last weekend wasn't very nice at all. First bad meal we have had from there in the years we have been using it. Id try it again but wouldn't get the special fried rice again as it was swimming in sauce, ruined the meal.

So busy in here tonight poor lady serving looks worn out but have to say the young lad helping is so lovely and polite the way he is speaking to the customers so nice to see his mama should be proud x plus food is always worth the wait x

This place is very rude and disrespectful they take a long time to prepare and make your food and still when you receive it it’s still not nice There is a women who works there and she is very rude and not polite made me wait half n hour for a half n half boiled rice and chips and curry and started arguing with me so I never paid for the food and walked out because I was not going to put any money in there pocket for being rude and disrespectful

Had chicken green peppers with egg fried rice and chips and it was seriously nice.

Ordered from here a few weeks ago, and the salt and pepper ‘chicken’ was served up as fish, quite distinctly from the taste and texture, I was horrified. Phoned up to express the fact I didn’t order any kind of fish, and was greeted with swear words. I was then angrily confronted by the ‘chef’ who waved raw meat at me to exclaim that it wasn’t fish which is unhygienic and a breach of food safety standards - the food was clearly fish and will never never return.

Great chippy with lovely staff. Food was good overall; decent portion sizes, though the chips was a bit of a let down due to them being warm-ups and quite greasy. Apart from that, would go there again.

Never been a let down from this chippy, called on way home from Oye. The lovely lady who served me had a nice chat with me, as she has in the past. Atmosphere not relevant in a chippy, but a little friendly chat is nice. Spotlessly clean inside as per.

this used to be a really lovely chippy but tonight was shocking. Special fried rice was brown soaked in soy sauce and meat thrown in the top was charred so much it tasted as though they scraped it out of days old fat. The rice was sweet from that much fat and sauce- tasteless- it was thought they had reheated waste food and threw it together. It was vile- 100% don’t go.

Like some of the recent reviews I am also dismayed at the downward spiral of this place Used to visit this takeaway a few times a year as it's not local to me but the food was so good it was worth the journey. The last time I visited I was so disappointed with the food I swore I'd never go back but last night I thought I'd give it the benefit of the doubt,big mistake... Watery tasteless sauce rubber crispy meat fried rice been nowhere near a wok,obviously been taken over by new owners and not a good change. Expensive food now,I saw a fella get 5 spring rolls and a chip barm £6.80 shocking

A beautiful place to get delicious food can't but fault it beautiful ❤️ignore any false feedback I've been here for years and can taste the goodness I come back again and again a very happy customer and jeez that Currys good 😊

Do not recommend the chop suey rolls. It's just shredded cabbage in a roll totally disgusting

Never tasted such a worse meal in life. 3 meals ordered. I had special fried rice. Omg first fork full was what is this ? The meat burnt to a frazzle , prawns seemed re cooked. The rice was so salty swimming in some sort of juice ??? Not what I was expecting. Will be warning people to stay well away. Complaints from other 2 meals also but I never tasted them so cabt comment. £37 down the pan !!!! Never again and I will be telling people to avoid. Awful

Really disappointed as I’d heard good stuff. Chips were so overcooked and you could taste the oil. The fish was tasteless apart from the overwhelming oil. Portions were generous but sadly wouldn’t go again

Perhaps, the most hygienic food outlet I've been it is absolutely clean and sparkling. The food is great.

Nice staff, quick and friendly service. If going to order some take away, please take some cash with you as they don't have a card machine. Had to nip to the Asda down the road to use the cash machine.

Been here many times over the last few yeas and food was excellent,however our last 3 visits during the last couple of months the FOOD is awfull,tasteless and poor quality from the set meal for 2,mixed grill and the last straw was an omelette which was all Mush and more like scrambled egg,we will NOT be back

Also been a regular here for Many years but tonight will be the last 2 omelets which were like a Scrambled Egg mess,2 weeks ago 2 mixed grills poor quality meet and 2 weeks prior to that a set meal for 2 of which again very poor quality meet and uncooked and all meals tasteless Never Again

Meal was ready 15 minutes before the chips and just left there to go cold . Got home and order wasn’t even complete. Phoned them up and was told it’s my fault for not checking the order. Never again. Just wish there was an option to give no stars.

Been a regular here for years and always loved the food but the standards have dropped massively in the last few months. Final nail in the coffin tonight. Fried rice was blackened and tasted like off beef, grease off the chips dripping through the bag, chips looked like they had been cooked a few times to keep them warm. Curry tasted like it was from a packet. Cannot believe how bad it was compared to how it was 6 months ago. Do yourselves a favour and avoid just put mine in the bin

Every dish we have is fresh and very tasty, by far the best take away Chinese, salt n pepper dishes are yummy. Been getting our yummy treat nights from Chaus for over a year now.

A friend told me abut Chau's.so me and my daughter thought we,d give a try.so happy we did .the gravy is lovely.and there salt n pepper chips.will definately go back ther..the staff were so friendly

Used to be my local chippy but now live near Aintree but was worth the drive for the best beef in chilli sauce I've ever had Fair price and plenty for 2 people

The food is great. Lovely chips. Perhaps not the biggest portion but they are very well priced. Has to be the cleanest chip shop I've been in. It's not new but they are constantly wiping things down and the floor is always spotless.

Meals are spot on, cooked great and taste real good. Always great service.

A visit that was a mixed bag for all concerned. Basics were pleasing but the satay was poor in fact it tasted of peanuts but it certainly was the poorest satay I ever had watery and dark gravy looking. Other things were good which makes it more frustrating for me to leave an average review. Counter staff were very efficient but could be seen as a bit abrasive at times but for me they were excellent. Get someone who can make satay and you get 5 stars from me. Unfortunately was a disappointing visit that won’t get me going again.
