Kimpton Spice in North Hertfordshire

This was our first order - nice food and piping hot. However both a service charge and delivery charge feels excessive - and portions smaller than from our usual takeaway. Onion bhajis huge however!

i rarely comment on here, my partner had the fish tikka masala last night. although my meal was 3 star at best i tasted hers as she couldnt eat it, it was not nice at all, . great naan bread but for 32 quid you expect far more 2 the main dishe

Kimpton Spice) situated in the Claggy Road Industrial Estate . but dont let that put you off. Collect from there for 10% of your order or they also deliver. Quality of dishes ordered were excellent , plenty of chicken and good size portions. Well worth a try.

Nice food but £8.95 for the mixed platter which was 2 cubes of chicken. 2 cubes of lamb, small samosa and an onion barge is far too expensive

Not used Kimpton spice for a while as had a break from Indian food for a while. Tonight we thought we would try one, sadly disappointed. Only one salad with two shami kebabs, for £9 I think that’s penny pinching. Both our mains, my chickens Madras and the wife’s lamb dopiaza were both watery and lack flavour. For the price you have to pay for a Indian meal better quality dishes were expected.

Absolutely delicious food; the mains were huge and was delivered swiftly. We got the set menu for 2 and felt it was really good value for money. My only criticism would be that there were only 4 small pieces of chicken in the tikka starter, but to be honest it didn’t bother us because the rest of the portion sizes were very generous. Will definitely order again, thank you!

ordered food for 22.30 when my wife gets home from work, i received a call asking if they could deliver at 22.00, we finally agreed on 22.15, they totally ignored this and the food was delivered at 21.49 and left on my doorstep, by the time we got to eat it was stone cold and it is never the same when re-heated. Great food ruined by poor service. If you can't deliver at the specified time then don't accept the order.

We are new to the area and tried this restaurant for the first time. The food was hot when it arrived and was much earlier than expected. If I have one slight complaint the popadoms were a little soft, but that wouldn’t stop us from ordering again soon.

Yet again, another great meal. I don't know how they do it but the chips are the best ever and even better that you can now order a large! I love the chicken tikka madras and its perfectly spiced and flavoursome. In fact, it is all pretty epic. Wonderful staff and great chefs. Amazing, thank you!

Poppadoms were stale and couldn’t be eaten, after paying extra for all the condiments they were all thrown. We called to let the restaurant know and the response wasn’t great, no apology, just told they had lots of orders and they cook them in advance, and to feel free to leave a bad review.

Friday 12th March 2021, orderd a meal for two of us, on the phone, very polite,helpful member of staff, took order efficiently. I read a bad review recently, seemed completely unfair, so I didn't use Kimpton Spice for a few months because if their review! I needn't have worried, our meal was excellent, fresh, hot, and very tasty, and reasonably priced. I will now only use Kimpton Spice for our takeaway Indian meals for us and future guests indefinitely.

Food was delicious. Chicken bhuna was flavoured nicely, could do with a bit more chicken though. Saag aloo was uncreal🤌 some of the best onion bhajis I've had, always a good sign of good food.

We were apprehensive about trying somewhere new but this was amazing. Portion sizes were good (rice was a little small) everything was still hot, tasted great. My husband said "this is how a dhansak should be".

Delicious curry, best lamb I’ve had at an Indian, and amazing Bombay potatoes! So much choice that you don’t get at other Indians also, which I can’t wait to keep trying. The meal deal for 2 is amazing value also!

Lovely food as always but the Madras tonight had no spice to it at all and was very mild. Tasted more like a masala. Would ask for extra green chillies next time but other than that very good.

This was a surprise! We had this place recommended to us by a friend and decided to give it a shot instead of using the Dildar II in Wheathampstead. It’s located in Claggy Road in one of the industrial units near the Husqvarna Chainsaw Unit. First impressions of the place weren’t that great but the gentleman behind the counter was extremely friendly. The food, however, was the best Indian food I have ever had. The Mango Murghi, in particular, was delicious. Everything was well cooked and packed full of flavour. If I could give 10 stars I would.

Amazing food at a good price. There is a wide range of dishes, and all that I have tried are full of flavour and fresh tasting. Try some of the lessor known dishes to find a new favourite, you won't be disappointed. The staff are friendly and polite, and really are customer focused. I highly recommend.

Perfect once again! We placed a rather large order for four of us. It arrived a couple of minutes early with every dish hot and very tasty. Kimpton Spice is our favourite Indian Takeaway.
