Great food and service as usual.

Great place for breakfast, coffee, meals, and a good wine and cocktail menu!! Highly recommended.

Visited yesterday with friends and ordered Nutella pancakes but seen the chef open a packet of Sainsbury’s pancakes and this is what was served. Would have thought pancakes would be easy to make from scratch.

Attractive looking place but doesn’t live upto the look. We ordered an oat milk cappuccino & a latte, my latte was more so a cappuccino & the cappuccino was just coffee & milk not steamed. In my experience I wouldn’t have served these I’d have taken my time to get it right before serving. The food was on the lower side of expectations. Steak & cheese sandwich was very bland couldn’t taste the steak, there was more rocket than steak & cheese which is always a bad sign. The pancakes we ordered were either cooked too long or not enough we can’t decide, the toppings on the pancakes were very rationed for what we paid for. Overall very disappointed considering the look the place portrays the service does not correlate. The staff were fine, friendly & the service on that end was great, other than the service of the coffee there Is no complaints on that end.

Slow service & food was poor. They didn't have any pancakes that were on their menu. Went for the granola bowl and it was mostly bought in dry granola with no sauce, literally two spoonfuls of yogurt and a handful of defrosted and fresh berries. Could have put it together better at home ! It's a shame because it's so nice inside.

Waffles tasted like they were out of a packet, eggs were rock hard, only one piece of chicken for 4 waffles and virtually no syrup. Not keeping up to quality of surrounding establishments with similar prices. Everything seemed like it had been left under a hot plate until it had scorched. I sensed table beside us also had problems. Service was good though. Sadly we won't be back.

Worst breakfast I’ve ever had in my life told them I was not paying for food like that I walked out and never paid for it - stay clear of this place if your looking for any standard of food, it just might be fine for a tea or coffee but certainly not food

A walk-in experience. It has an attractive outward appearance. I had been intrigued previously. I checked the menu and found Steak Frites at £10 appealing. Bavette cut. Too good to be true? Absolutely not. Tender meat. Superb. Brief wine list. But, cheap and the house wine was excellent. Staff V friendly and efficient. Highly recommended. Brilliant. Splendid. Wonderful Value.

Honestly, the food can be hit or miss but the cocktails are simply some of the best around. Their new menu created by local legend Karla, really is outstanding and should be sampled by all. The Southsider is fantastic and 2 for 1 most days (can't remember but assume Friday/Saturday full price) is great value for the quality of the product.

With such mixed reviews, I decided to judge this place for myself. Alas, I can't recommend it when there are so many better brunch options in the southside. Thankfully, there was no raw sausage for us, but everything was average to below average. Nothing stood out. The pancakes with eggs were rated as "fine" by our group. "Could've done with more maple syrup," says my too polite friend to me afterwards. My Greek eggs included not quite ripe avocado (but hey, credit where credit is due, the poached eggs were good). Coffees were "just okay." My Bramble tasted like gin and juice rather than a mixed cocktail. If you ask for extra sauce, it'll come in a little plastic container that no doubt gets chucked afterwards. Terrible wastage. Please correct me if I'm wrong K&Co! And the service, omg, it felt like the staff were in a race to get us out of there. Our meal orders were taken in a rush with the guy essentially walking away from the table as I tried to clarify my order. Another server then started clearing the table before we'd all finished our meals. I think part of the problem is that the three or four servers didn't have set tables, so we often had multiple people asking us if they could get us anything further. If they needed us out by a set time (it was Sat lunch time after all), I can understand the haste, but I would've appreciated being told that rather than being made to feel unwelcome.

Was here today for breakfast and was very disappointed with what I received. Eggs & sausage were both burnt, the quality was really poor. I should have complained at the time but it seemed like there was already an atmosphere with the staff & chef .

Went with my 2 children and was told they had run out of pancakes!!! How is this even possible? Surely they are made to order and one of the easiest things to make. They then forgot items ordered. Staff seemed very stressed annd rude ant times and at the end we felt turfed out as people were waiting at the door, hadn’t even left the table before they were starting to reset it for new people.

Came in here for lunch with my cousin and my aunt. The quality of the food was fantastic and the service was great! The chicken burger and the beef burgers were both awesome! Drinks menu offered some great variety. Will certainly be back for brunch!!

Nice place nice server, but food, esp pancakes were well overpriced. Ordered pancakes with bacon egg and syrup. Pancakes were tiny and shop bought Not worth £9 charge at all. Really Dissapointing expected something freshly made for that.... Photos online look amazing, sadly not reality.

Very attractive looking venue- food fine but very upset to see the manager shouting at the staff who became visibly upset. Made us so very uncomfortable cannot go back - such a shame .

A great locals spot with excellent breakfasts and coffee. We found this location by accident after looking for a more touristy restaurant and really enjoyed the true local feel.

This place was great and the food is amazing. Waiters and service were very friendly, cordial and fast as possible. Definitely, we will be back next time we will visit Shawlands.

Stars really for location. Used to be good here. Today, had to ask for menu. then guy says he can only take drinks order and he's going off soon so we'll have to wait for another server. We order the rose, there are only 2 on the menu. Another server comes to ask what it was again we ordered? Eventually wine delivered ' I'm not legally allowed to pour it' then comes back to get food order then tells us it's a long wait as kitchen is backed up... so we say no. original server who couldn't take food orders suddenly can take food orders. The cheapest rose on the menu is acidic, so don't waste valuable wine calories

Decor lovely, music was great, nice wee fresh flower on the table, we did however get a birds eye view of a member of staff's blue new balance under pants, we think it may have been a manager as he had on a white shirt, I am all for fashion but not when you are serving food as it has put me off coming back, food was ok, the chips were ok, the latte and iced latte were nice

Always terrible service and bad food - as well as not being cheap. Go anywhere else in Shawlands.

This is a bright bar restaurant with outside tables, furnished in an industrial style. We ordered cooked breakfasts and coffees. Unfortunately the breakfasts were a big let down. Everything was cooked in fat, well past its sell by date, giving the food an awful taste. Shame, as it could have been so good. Coffee was good and pastries looked tempting.

Both of us ordered breakfasts. The link sausage was completely raw in the middle on both plates. The waiting staff were apologetic but no discount or compensation offered. We ate the rest of our meal, so were happy to pay but free drinks or similar would have been appreciated.

Visited Kilmurry & Co for brunch. Firstly, its great that they are dog friendly and they were very welcoming but it was all pretty much downhill from there. Ordered drinks, no sparkling water available. Ordered food, Eggs Hebridean and the Southside Pastrami. Whilst waiting for the food you could see the two kitchen staff were overwhelmed despite the place not being that busy. When the food arrived the Eggs Hebridean was served with brown toast, not sourdough as on the menu, not a disaster but not great. Worst though was the Southside Pastrami. Advertised as Pastrami, Sauerkraut, Swiss Cheese and Mustard Mayo, it arrived with 50% of the toppings missing, no Sauerkraut or Swiss Cheese. We complained to what looked like the manager who advised a new one would be made. With it being an open kitchen you could see the kitchen staff having to go into the larder to get these ingredients to remake it, so it was just laziness by the staff in the first place not to make the food as described on the menu. So overall a really poor experience, with no real attentiveness from the staff after complaining and no further apology when settling the bill.

Not terrible but not good.. could have made better pancakes myself.. chewy tasteless..got my girlfriend to try them out in case it was me but she said the same.. lovely place but there are loads of better places..

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! My wife and I took our daughter for a quick bite to eat. My wife had Eggs Royale (absolutely fine), I order the Buttermilk Chicken Burger which when i first saw it, I thought it was for a child. They'd clearly counted the amount of chips and the burger was tiny! I mean, a five year old would be hungry after it AND they had the nerve to charge £11 for it!! Absolute joke!! Is if that wasn't embarrassing enough, my daughter asked for a beef burger with nothing on it other than ketchup. To our amazement, they brought out a morning roll with just ketchup.....no burger!! My wife and I laughed and I pointed it out to the waitress who, in her defence, was very apologetic. She then came back with a chicken burger. At no point was the word chicken mentioned. We cut our losses, took the chicken burger back and left. We obviously paid for what we ate but just had to get out of there. If you want to be ripped off by REALLY low quality food, go here!! Never going back!

Waited ages when food came order wrong. Vegan breakfast had egg and sausage on it, told it was a vegan sausage when it was obviously not. sent back of course. When changed the 2 small vegan sausages were fridge cold and nasty.very little else on plate. Those who require special dietary needs beware . Other breakfast was luke warm when served to an outdoor table. So yes it ended up cold. 4 eating a basic 1 course brunch with no alcohol cost over £50. Not a good eating experience on the day and over priced.No discount was offered after complaints about wrong order and cold foods.

Visited for lunch on a Sunday. Very busy but reasonable wait for food to arrive. No high chair offered for baby and staff seemed to be quite harassed. When I phoned for a booking I was rushed off the phone.

The steak frite was very good and the sticky toffee pudding was excellent. Our first visit, the service was quick and efficient. Only one thing reduced the score for atmosphere was the very loud music, I'm just not fan of loud music while I'm eating nice food.

Chicken burger had almost 2 nuggets of chicken in the smallest bun imaginable no side salad looked pathetic taste was good.. shame about the portion size nuggets ain't a burger.

Food: Very tasty but the steak was little on the smaller side. Also had to pay extra for sauce (£2) with the steak frites (technically totalled £12 instead of $10 as advertised) Service : Food came out relatively quickly but felt like staff wanted us out ASAP even though we had booked a 2 hour time slot (we had finished our food with 40mins to spare). We were approached 3-4 times after this and asked if we need anything else, which answer was always no, we just wanted to chat/catch up as I was visiting the area. We felt like our presence was not welcomed once we finished our food. Also felt like more care was required for table settling, candle was thrown on the table and slid across which made a noise and startled us as we were talking. Atmosphere: really nice decor, comfy and cozy.

Went here for the £10 steak night, safe to say we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the steak. Cooked to perfection😍The service was rapid, overall very happy with our experience.

Went for £10 steak frites on Friday night. Our expectations were low for steak at that price but we were very pleasantly surprised. Tasty food, decent sized portion, fantastic service from Chloe and lovely atmosphere. We'll be back soon!

Great place and yummy (although small portions) of food. However, we booked a table specifically stating we had a new born baby with us and a pram and were simply given an area at the bar. No table had been reserved for us.

Absolutely awful. Ordered pancakes for my granddaughter they were brick hard with hardly any Nutella on them. Shocking. My pulled bbq chicken sandwich had more coleslaw than anything. The fries were the worst I’ve ever tasted. We waited 40 minutes for this! I never leave a bad review but felt I had to on this occasion. Paid the over priced bill and she asked me if I wanted to leave a tip.! Only tip I have is get a new chef and better waiting staff. Would never return. Sorry

Ordered delivery via Deliveroo - received the wrong items with some items missing. Two 'iced lattes' consisted of milk with ice cubes (see picture). Phoned restaurant to complain and was told not their problem and hung up. Phoned back to explain not sure how it could be Deliveroo's fault that we were sent milk with ice and was told nothing they could do and they were sorry and hung up again. Deliveroo refunded us for the missing food but said nothing they could do about the drinks. The milk was at least nice and cold.

If I could give zero stars I would. Has to be one of the most awful experiences of my life. Firstly we stood at the door so about 2 full minutes before the older man acknowledged us then just rudely told us to sit anywhere. We were finally given menus after waiting some time. The place was relatively quiet but that didn’t seem to stop the man (manager I think) yelling at the top of his voice and being what seemed inappropriate with a female member of staff. Very awkward and tense atmosphere. The food we ordered came overcooked and warm and the coffees we ordered came in disgusting mugs that clearly weren’t cleaned. Do not go here.

Coffee and food are ok. But sat for 15 mins outside waiting to be served and it wasn’t even that busy. Ended up going in to place my order.

Four of us had a full English. Could count on one hand the individuals beans they gave us. Forgot my potato scone, my boyfriends poached eggs were over cooked. Not sure what coffee they gave me but it was not a flat white. Rubbish under the tables outside.

Went for drinks on Saturday afternoon, waitress was very nice but service is far too slow. Seemed to be plenty of staff indoors but only the one waitress.

Food and drink was pretty good but service was appalling. It's a place of neck straining, half the customers were trying to get the attention of the staff that just seemed to be oblivious to it hence the poor rating for atmosphere. I think because they are probably just employing kids that don't have the people skills; they don't know how to interact with customers or maybe haven't had proper training in customer service. There used to be a really attentive guy that worked there but haven't seen him the past few times. The location is really good so if you can put up with the terrible service it is a nice spot to sit outside with a beer or coffee.

Has to be the worst place in the area staff are amateurs and so called chef has no idea how to make a simple sandwich. I can't recommend this place to anybody let alone go there ever again. I went to Dnisi across the road amazing food and friendly staff.

Went here for brunch after the places we usually go were 1.5+ hour wait. The service was quite slow but friendly. I had the el bruncho which was scrambled egg, chorizo and bread. It was extremely bland and tasteless. The chorizo was cut into huge discs and difficult to cut. I could barely eat it due to how tasteless it was. The coffee was not good and was very watery. Overall, wouldn't be back

Visited this afternoon for Coffee and a small bite to eat with my parents. We sat down outside and no one came to take our order so my Dad and I went inside to order… we were ushered back outside and told someone would come take our order. The place was quiet and we waited quite a while for our order to be taken. When we asked for a menu the waitress seemed confused that we wanted to order food and told us the kitchen was closed. We ordered cakes instead and we were served with the smallest scones I have ever seen. No napkins and a spoon to put butter and jam on it. We weren't asked once how our food was or if we needed anything. Staff generally just seemed rude and uninterested in serving customers.

Please don’t go on a Monday. Went this afternoon - two tables were occupied outdoors and two indoors and the service was extremely slow having to be prompted to take every order and reminded of an order for bread and olives twice. When the bread and olives did arrive it was white sliced bread with some old olives with a bit of rocket thrown on top. We had planned to eat a meal here but based on the experience we paid up and went up the street to an Italian place where we were properly taken care of.

Picked place at random for coffee and brunch, new to area. Service was good and efficient. Always good to go somewhere that uses good quality ingredients - especially at breakfast. The scottish pancake were bigger than what you normally see, and were light and fluffy. Will be back.

Delicious food, wonderful cocktails, and the loveliest service from Hilary who was friendly, cheerful, accommodating and exceeded our expectations. Will definitely be returning soon.

It took over 30 minutes for our food order to be taken... And that's because we went in and asked three times. More than half the tables were empty, and there were three staff servicing. I calculated that is if wasn't for the unnecessary delays, we'd have probably ordered two more rounds of drinks, increasing the table value by about her £30-odd. If I were the owner or manager, this would be the thing I care about. As a customer, I care that we had to ask for menus, drinks twice and the order to be taken three times, before these actions happened. While we watched tables arrive without being greeted and left for the same time. Unsurprisingly getting the bill took time, we weren't offered water and the staff looked very unmotivated to do their jobs. Food was okay, but a bit too standard to compensate for poor customer service, if you know what I mean. When there are a plethora of amazing places in the Southside, good customer service is the minimum requirement to keep people returning.

I recently had a truly terrible experience at a restaurant that I feel compelled to share. Upon arriving for a casual walk-in, we were informed that there would be an hour-long wait if we didn't have a reservation. Not willing to wait that long, we decided to try our luck elsewhere. However, we couldn't find any other place that seemed as quiet and appealing, so we called the restaurant back after walking away to make a reservation. Surprisingly, they offered us a table just 10 minutes after the phone call, the same table we had initially requested when we arrived. Unfortunately, that was only the beginning of our ordeal. Once seated, we eagerly awaited the menus, only to realize that they had forgotten to provide them. It took us 10 minutes of sitting there before we had to request the menus ourselves. Ordering drinks turned into yet another waiting game, as it took a whopping 20 minutes for a simple order of waters, a can of coke, and an iced coffee to arrive at our table. To make matters worse, they didn't bother to inform us that they had run out of full-fat coke and substituted it with a diet coke without asking for our preference. When our food finally arrived, we were appalled to discover that instead of the loaded fries we had ordered, we were given a small, overpriced portion of regular Cajun fries. Even after pointing out the mistake and explaining that we hadn't ordered the fries, they still tried to charge us for them. Frustrated and dissatisfied, we requested to speak with a manager to address the poor service we had experienced. However, we were informed that there was no manager present, and the only resolution they could offer was the manager's email address. After some back-and-forth, they begrudgingly removed the cost of the can of coke and the iced coffee from our bill. But, to our surprise, they had still included the unwanted fries on the bill. We had to remind them once again that we hadn't ordered the fries, further highlighting the lack of attention to detail and poor communication within the establishment. It's disheartening to say that despite the disappointing service, the food itself was decent, earning a modest 6.5 out of 10 rating. However, the overall experience left a sour taste in our mouths. The complete disregard for basic customer service, from the long wait to the lack of menus and miscommunication, overshadowed any redeeming qualities the food may have had. In conclusion, I must emphasize that this was one of the worst service experiences I have ever encountered. It's a shame because the potential was there, but the execution fell far short. I cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant based on my personal encounter. Hopefully, they will take these criticisms constructively and work towards improving their service standards for future customers.

Very poor service. Told it would take an hour and a half for food. Asked for a coffee instead. Took almost 45 minutes to get served whilst the waitress didn’t clean any of the tables. Wasn’t even particularly busy. The stuff didn’t seem overly in a hurry/fussed for customers so assume the place is doing fairly well usually.

Went to try and walk in for brunch for 3, very rude woman came over and without even asking said they could only honour bookings. The place was next to empty and not even an apology and she turned and walked away. Totally confused and rude, very bad impression. I can see why the place is empty. Awful service.

Really wasn't impressed with the quality of the food and what was left on our plates at the end reflected it. We weren't asked how our food was, just handed the £35+ bill. We had 2 breakfasts, scrambled egg was mushy/watery and just not enjoyable. Mushrooms were slimy. Streaky-type bacon is basically just fat, so we had to pick it apart to get any meat (I'd say OK for pancakes, but not what you want with a breakfast) Link sausage was OK in comparison to everything else. Whole thing was pretty tasteless and was luke warm. The beans and slice of toast was the best bit. Cappuccino has a vanilla taste even though we didn't ask for any flavoured syrup. Had pancakes on my last visit and they were OK, so thought I'd go back and try the breakfasts.. regretted our decision. Like I said, we weren't even asked how the food was when it was pretty evident there was quite a lot left on our plates. The waiter who initially took our order was really nice hence the 2 stars (young tall guy, I'd say early 20s, dark hair).

One of the southsides best brunch places! Also a warm friendly welcome when we go with amazing food on top of that. Usually I'd grudge the price they charge for breakfast, but however with the volume of food and service received, I'd say it's worth it

I had such an amazing brunch experience with friend! The food were fresh and delicious, moreover the presentations were amazing! Highly recommended Royale! That was so nice!! I will try pancakes next time!! I need to mention the staffs, they are so nice!!I will definitely come back again!

Lovely interior, Staff were helpful and friendly, and the Coffee was very nice. The breakfast was very under par. The bacon was tasteless. Both types of sausage were undercooked and of poor quality. Overall disappointed!

It’s a shame that the fairy lights don’t mask the utterly abhorrent service and food here. We visited for an incredibly disappointing brunch and waited 45 minutes for our food. When it arrived, the portions were tiny. The avocado was clearly off, we had one incredibly greasy egg, the tomatoes were underdone and it was generally disgusting. When we got the bill, we politely said that we did not enjoy the food and were unhappy with the service. The waiter simply said there was new management and things weren’t as they should be. We still paid full price despite this being, without doubt, the worst breakfast I have ever had in Glasgow. Don’t believe the influencers; this place is a shocker.

We had booked and long awaited the Kilmurry experience, only to be very disappointed. The service was awful! It took over an hour to get our food and when we ordered drinks at least 15, if not 20mins. If you haven't got lots of time, don't go. It is though, a very beautiful place!

Really excellent food in a great atmosphere - be sure to book in advance, it gets busy!

Have visited multiple times - food and drink is usually always great and good value for money. The service is always on the slow side, likely Kilmurray's achilles heel.

Great menu for breakfast or lunch with eggs, sandwiches, or sweet things like massive pancake stacks. We had 2 main dishes from their savoury options and really enjoyed them, delicious hollandaise! The sweet potato fries also very tasty.

Stopped in for a breakfast , was amazed by how good the food was , Manager very friendly and staff where awesome , food was fantastic , highly recommend this place 😀

Went out for dinner - the food was lovely but the service was exceptional. The team went above and beyond whilst being great crack at the same time.

This is my favourite Brunch spot in Shawlands - amazing food and portion sizes, plus the team are so friendly and the service is always great! There is a really nice atmosphere and their playlists are also a bonus. Everything I've tried on the menu has been great. I would recommend El Bruncho or The Goat.

Popped in today as was visiting Shawlands. Ordered pancake, it was delicious, bacon delicious, very large portion. Cooked from scratch and very fresh. Coffees were lovely. Son joined me, he had breakfast dish, said bacon and square sausage very tasty and again freshly cooked and well presented. Staff lovely and helpful. Compliments to the chef. Lovely restaurant and would highly recommend.

Extremely disappointing. I visited for the first time on 11th July. I waited 45 minutes for an unseasoned beyond basic steak sandwich..: the restaurant was very quiet with about 15 covers max. I witnessed staff members having heated discussions and one shouting mother ****** in the main inside seating area - which was rather unpleasant… I then was the only customer sitting inside and the restaurant started turning away new customers at peak lunch time for food; claiming they were only serving drinks. The chef was arguing with waiting staff and seemed stressed, consequently I immediately left thinking never again and I would never recommend this place. If you are a true foodie and enjoy a relaxing lunch ignore the prior reviews as this place is not good and incredibly overrated.

I had El Bruncho. Dont know how they got the Chorizo crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. I should have asked. Great service and lovely menu.

I went on a Sunday morning for breakfast and wasn't impressed. One of us ordered a vegetarian breakfast which came in three parts as the chef obviously forgot to compete the plate. So we ate the egg and tomatoes at the end! The eggs Royal and the grand breakfast were ok but i think there are better places for breakfast in the area. I'd like to try pancakes and cakes next time as they looked great!
