Authentic, fresh tasting curries, that your mother would make at home(well, mine did anyway). Non of your chicken tikka masala nonsense, with some chicken dishes served on the bone, just as it should be. The mutton Bhuna is a favourite of mine, and we always look forward to a "Khyber House" night. The boss, and his son are very friendly, and always remember our regular order, and it's nice to see a steady trade going on there. The premises could do with a spruce up, but does the job without any frills.

They provide good food, BUT CLEANING IS MUST IN FOOD BUSINESS! they need to work hard in getting their restaurant clean and not greasy... the eyes eats before the mouth! Overall it is ok...

This is small outlet specialising in Afghani cusine. They cook to order from fresh so not the place to go for fast food. Be prepared to wait 20 to 30 minutes for your order to be ready, so calling ahead can help speed things up. There are the traditional family seating booths with a curtain area but they can be a little claustrophobic. The staff are very polite and welcoming and the food is very good particularly the mixed Grill and fresh bread. The biggest let down is the run down appearance and lack of attention to cleaning. It could be a great place with a full refurbishment (worn out furniture outdated decorations) especially the cramped unappealing toilet area. Not a place to take your special guest, ok for local family meals when you want to give burgers and chips a miss. The open cooking stations are a really nice feature they could make more of that as a unique experience in relation to other restaurants.

The food used to be very good but the quality isn't as great anymore. All the food we ordered was from at least 2 days old and clearly microwaved.

Sold us sheep as lamb and beef kebabs were undercooked. Poor hygiene conditions and most of the other stuff was reheated in microwave. Don’t go there for anything. They don’t even care

Namik Mandi and chappal kebabs are must. I can assure you, you won't be disappointed. Naan bread and rice are also good to try with dishes mentioned above.

The lamb curry was very nice slow cooked the kebabs where also nice just a bit spicy. They could do with adding a few more boneless chicken curry dishes as the one we ordered was average. The service was ok not a Afghan menu as it claims to be.

Its a shame i had to give low stars on this because the food is actually quite nice. However the layout, decor and design is old and broken. I know khyber house is clean but a paintjob might make it look like it actually is rather than tacky. I came with my friend and he was not pleased he is also Afghan.

Been there yesterday( sunday the 25th October) for lunch with my friend for the first and last time Saw 3 star rating at front door from FOOD Standard Agency which put me in doubt should i try or not, anyway went inside ordered Kebab Platter( Reshmi Kebab) it was good turned up in 20 minutes. Also ordered Peshawari Chapal Kebab, it was terrible and very thin meat was used and chewy as well, we asked the waiter what is this, his answer was ‘’ i am waiter here doing service no idea about food’’ i asked the guy behind the counter why its so stiff and chewy whether the mince was old or over cooked the answer was simple’’ its over cooked Ordered chicken namak mandi karahi for mains with peshawari Nan, but terrible taste for both of them. the guy behind the main counter was new Messed up and left with upset stomach and bad feelings realizing never to turn up again This place will be shut very soon. The staff should be banned for ever to even touch the food due to hygiene and quality of food they are serving Waste of money and time Avoid...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

This place claims to sell afghan food but doesn't sell anything of the sort. Just seems like a run down Pakistani restaurant and that too, in a very unhygienic environment. Service was very poor, we weren't even served straight away. We were made to stand at the front door for ages whilst many of the workers walked past without even saying a word. Once they sat us down, our menus were given and no one seemed to return for a good while. Again, workers walking past us, making eye contact, yet no one bothered to take our order. Finally I asked someone to come over and how dumbfounded he was, asking if our order had already been taken. He most definitely knew that we had been waiting to place our order. After ordering (only one dish and a roti), the waiter didn't even bother to give the, somewhat, sticky note that he wrote our order on to the cooks (how professional). After spending a good while finding the note our food began to be cooked about half an hour later. Bearing in mind, this was only ONE dish. What was worse was the fact that they had a card machine (which another customer pointed out) but apparently were only accepting cash. I really wish they had said this at the door. So this required me to run to the nearest cash machine to withdraw money and finally upon my return the food was at our table. However, it was most definitely cold. After eating the food, we weren't given a bill just the price on the calculator. Don't know what that was about. Overall, a really bad experience, rude staff, the staff (all men) seem to look down on you if you're women. They are more concerned with getting orders ready for their male customers. This was evident as everyone was served before us. One staff member also was hassling my friend, asking her if the food was good. Of course the food wasn't good, hence the lack of emotion upon our faces. I felt as if they were taking the mick. Will never ever be back here in my whole life. And they should definitely be closed down for false advertising as this had nothing to do with afghan food. Waste of my time and money. Food was not even worth waiting for. If I could give no stars I would.

First this was the place open in Ramadan and that says a lot that these are money chasers. Our experience was spoilt when we ordered the rice and baingan separate and was charged for both which sounds fair until on another trip we just ordered the same rice dish and baingan (aubergine) dish is part of the dish and comes with it so why did they not inform that on our first trip. Not so hygienic place either there are places which look like they have never been cleaned since the restaurant first opened. It is more Pakistani food than Afghan food I say that because I am a big fan of afghan foods and have eaten authentic afghan dishes in other authentic afghan restaurants which are more than just name in afghan.

We went to this place because all other places were closed due to Ramadan during the day. We ordered two kebabs which came with free salad and nan bread. The tomatoes in the salad smelled spoiled and the kebab portions were very small compared to other places. While we were waiting for food two other customers complained that the food wasn't fresh. At the end, we didn't get the bill but were shown the amount on calculator, which turned out to be wrong, but fortunately the guy didn't argue when we pointed that out. Overall, I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone

Excellent ambience. Scrumptious food. We ordered lamb bhuna, chapali kebab, grilled seekh, kabuli pulao, aubergine, lahari channa and peshawari naan with salted laasi. For a party limited to size of three people this was enough food to feed an army. We got carried away and for good reason. The food just melts in the mouth. Absolutely worth the price ( 1kg lamb bhuna for 20 quids!). Good customer service and honest staff members. Only thing I was expecting is complimentary khava at the end as almost all aghan chains serve it, so that was a little disappointing. However, despite the missing freebie, this restaurant should be visited at least once in a lifetime.

Nice little eating place, good service and amazing food. So far the best BBQ food we had in Luton. Portion sizes are huge. Good value for money. Can also take left overs home! Highly Recommended.

Right, so I walked past this place and their Nihari offer caught my eye 👀. Nihari and 2 naans for £9. I thought in this cold weather that's a steal and worth trying. Usually the most tired looking places have the most authentic tastes. From my experience not every restaurant offers Nihari (like people do with Biryani which you find everywhere and it's so bad). So if they're advertising Nihari surely it couldn't be that bad. We step in, and the place is relatively quiet, really tired looking and it did make me question my choice. But even with the deco being incredibly dated, the table and seat was clean and I was still trying to keep an open mind and remember never judge a book by its cover. Immediately, the staff are all super approachable/welcoming and not the typical attitude to servicing customers like you expect from any other Asian place where it feels like you're an inconvenience and want to ask them for the bare minimum. The guys took my order with no issue, no need to repeat 3/4 times, just super helpful, super smooth ordering. With that, we later discovered the owner was also sat nearby and gave polite recommendations and exchange pleasantries. Anyways, the food came, piping hot, and much to our surprise the food SLAPPEEDDD!!!! It was so good. It was served in authentic crockery that you'd find at your grandmother's home. It felt like you were in her house and I actually unwind and relaxed. We learnt this shop had been here 45 years! That's saying something. The food was so good we even stayed for proper Pakistani chai and dessert. The shop has an abundance of sweets from mitahi to freshly baked biscuits where the owner gave us a couple to try for free. They made the chai fresh in a pot just for us. The whole experience was so enjoyable, all the guys are really nice and also great value for money. The food was delicious fresh snd nostalgic. I'll definitely be back. My only recommendation is to slowly fix the decor bro. But I'll be BACK!
