Khao Thai in Richmond upon Thames

Agree it is a Thai treasure so close to home. Friendly staff and great food. We tried the chill lamb stir fry, the seafood curry and penang curry and I must say that the taste was really good.

Best Thai restaurant ever! They pay attention to all the little details, and that’s what makes it so phenomenal! My family and I absolutely loved the food and the presentation was fantastic. Terrific service and atmosphere.

Totally blown away by the flavor profile of the dishes and also really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant - spacious and comfortable while the waitresses were friendly and welcoming too! I was so shocked by how good the Tom Kha Gai was, so refreshing and opens up your palate for rest of the dishes well, just enough sourness and bit of sweet with a subtle kick from the chilli. Prawn cake were fab and the glass noodle was good too, could be a bit more spicy for my liking but was good overall! My pics didn’t do its justice but highly recommend this place!!

A lovely place in Twickenham where you can try delicious Thai food. The staff is very good and friendly, always with a smile and spreading good vibes. Everything we ate had a lot of flavor and the portions are very good. It is the first time we come but it surely won't be the last. Many thanks for everything:)

First came across this wonderful restaurant on Uber Eats and had the pleasure of going in person to dine-in! The staff are welcoming and friendly, as the service is efficient and excellent. The food was delicious - whether you takeaway or dine-in. Portion sizes are good, especially with the mains. The mocktails and alcoholic beverages are also good in size. Highly recommend and will come back for more!

Came at 5pm on a Monday and the food was delicious! We had the mixed veg started and satay chicken, then basil chicken, cashew chicken, egg rice and plain noodles. The two chicken mains were the standouts absolutely brilliant. Lovely music and decor in the restaurant. Would definitely come back!

Every morsel was delicious. We (3 of us!) shared vegetarian mixed starter and then stir fried cashew nut, stir fried basil, plain noodle and egg fried rice. We did ask for a few extra cashews as they were sparse. We ate early so were the only ones in the restaurant but it was still a nice atmosphere with pleasant background music. Would definitely return. Bill with a bottle of rose was just under £90 A treat but not extortionate. 👍🏻

Had been wanting to try this place since a while. Finally did it today and I am glad I did. The food was amazing. Restaurant has very polite and smiling staff which makes the dining experience even better. Their mango sticky rice is an absolute do not miss dessert. Definitely going back.

I thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday lunch Thai. I was the only one there so made service very easy. The waitress was lovely and made me feel very welcome. I had baguette chicken and prawn toast and green chicken curry, ingredients were very fresh. Portions I thought were very generous

Best Thai food I've had! Even better than what I had in Thailand! Food was authentic and flavourful, and well spiced! We got the duck spring rolls, drunken noodles, jungle curry and coconut rice - delicious! Service was also really good, the waitress was friendly and attentive! Highly recommend.

Authentic Thai delicious food at its best. Great service and staff. I love their sweet and sour chicken which was the right level of sauce without to sticky and watery, and I had coconut rice was delicious, however, the combination of the two was very filling. The coconut rice was perfect and not a bit soggy, but this was great and you could taste the flavour of the coconut.

Amazing food, cocktails, atmosphere and staff. All round great little Thai treasure in the heart of Twickenham. Cocktails more intricate and fun than local competitors that charge double the price. Well presented, fresh. A quick update after a few visits later, still consistently amazing food, the staff are so lovely and the mango sticky rice is unreal. Thanks again :)

We had a great time here; the food was absolutely fantastic & the service was awesome. They were very patient with us, even though we took some time ordering, as we were a relatively large group. Really good portion sizes & some of the best Crispy Tilapia fish I’ve had!

Very tasty but very small portions

By far THE worst Thai food I have had in London. The images of the food online on Uber eats and TripAdvisor are thoroughly misleading. The food is soggy and just stodgy. I would go through the faults of each dish but I cannot be bothered. I will say though on the Thai Chicken basil.... The dish should be called Thai green red bell pepper and green beans. NO BASIL TO BE SEEN!!!!!???. The rice noodles were not rice noodles. It was a large thick greasy and lumpy noodle (sorry that was two dish faults) Finally the cost for this travesty of apparent Thai cuisine is ridiculously overpriced. The food from this establishment I imagine came from a dirty little corner greasy spoon. Appalling. DO NOT ORDER FOOD FROM THIS PLACE!!!

My wife and I love Kgao Thai. It took us 3 years to find a great Thai. Lovely people, super food starters, mains especially the fish and fair prices for memorable food. Go try it!

One of the best Thai food place we’ve been to! Thom Yum soup, Stir fry noodles, green curry, dim sum and the most special Sticky Mango Rice were beyond delicious! 👍👌😋

The food was amazing, we went on a Friday and it was a bit quiet in the beginning but loads of people joining later. The cocktails looked amazing. 100% would recommend a visit, the service was lovely and we would have all the foods we had again. Already looking at when we are going back.

Came here for my birthday with family and friends. Food was served quickly and was excellent including vegan options for my daughters. Staff were friendly and efficient. The only negative was there didn't appear to be any air-con and it got uncomfortably warm.

Food was good all around, only the beef dish we ordered was really chewy and almost inedible. Service was a bit slow but they were really busy.

Food was delicious as always, the food was not too spicy, would really recommend papiya salad or som tam - one of my favourite Thai cuisine. Service was a little bit long of a weight but waiters were really nice and friendly towards us. Atmostphere was alright nothing special really. Overall enjoyable experience..

I don't expect super authentic Pad Thai from any takeaway, but this has to be THE WORST I have ever had. Didn't taste anything like Pad thai, overly sweet, chicken was tough. Just wrong. Sorry I wasted my money on this.

Perfect dining experience and the best Thai food I've tasted in my area. The servers were really nice, but did seem a bit stretched when it got busy, so maybe could have done with one more staff member. All the decor is really well thought out and unique. Then the food was exceptional and good portions for the price.

Ate here for dinner and had such an excellent experience! Really tasty authentic Thai food with a varied and reasonably priced menu. The crying tiger steak was incredible and the som tum was some of the best I have ever had outside of Thailand - they even made it extra spicy on my request. I particularly enjoyed their selection of fun cocktails, which were delicious as well as impressive to look at. It's a small family-run business so the vibe in the restaurant is cosy and welcoming, and the service was on-point and really friendly. Can recommend this place for a fun dinner out, and I will absolutely be coming back!

We have visited Twickenham many times, and this was our first meal at the Khao Thai restaurant. The food and service were simply fantastic. Starters, main courses, and dessert were all served hot and super tasty. The two members of staff were so happy, friendly and welcoming 🙏. Thank you for a great evening. I visited the restaurant with my family for lunch and I will come back. Nice atmosphere, delicious drinks and food, service is perfect, I have some food allergies that were treated seriously and respectfully. The restaurant is also baby-friendly, they give my 6mo stream rice so he could enjoy the food as well. Thank you for the experience

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING! The food is here is so fresh and incredible! Really good sized dishes! Staff was so friendly and lovely and the house rosé wine is very very well priced and really nice to drink! This is has to be one of my favourite restaurants. I had it delivered before but highly recommend eating for the full experience. Also the prices are incredible for Thai food. I find Thai restaurants usually have super high prices but Khao Thai is one of the best prices I’ve seen and definitely the best Thai restaurant I’ve been too

Ate here on 17/09/23. Cosy feeling restaurant, which was empty when I got there. Having driven from Reading to meet up for lunch for my daughter's upcoming birthday, I was made to feel welcome while I waited for her and and her partner to arrive. Lady was friendly and offered advice around parking on Sundays., so they got to park right outside! Order was taken, and brought out in a good timely manner. Loved the food!! They were accomodating, for two vegans and an omnivore, and the food was beautiful! I'd say that maybe add a few more vegan friendly options, and I think you'd have frequent repeat customers from them both and their like-minded friends!!! The lady said at least now I know about the free parking on Sundays for next time... I would actually make the effort to come back again to lunch with my daughter! Thank you all!

Ordered take away (Pad Thai and Tom Yum curry). Both were very nice and the food was delivered quickly. The only negative was that the portion sizes seemed quite small.

We visited Khao Thai after the England - Wales rugby match. They were extremely busy! Despite how busy they were, the food came extremely quickly and was delicious! The staff were kind too. We would definitely recommend Khao Thai and will visit again next time we are in Twickenham!

Have been here for dinner on last Sunday. The place was a bit busy. Lovely little place , a real gem. A really good green curry which was recommended by Knee (waitress said this is her name!) ! Great value and very friendly staff.
