KFC Newbury - Wharf Road in West Berkshire

KFC Newbury is my go-to for a quick bite. Crispy, juicy chicken, decent fries, and quick service. Everything is likable really. Good customer service

Honestly, I'm a sucker for KFC, and the Newbury branch doesn't disappoint. Sometimes you just need that crispy, juicy chicken fix, right? Well, this place delivers. I've been a few times now, and the chicken has always been spot on – perfectly cooked, not greasy, just delicious. The staff are pretty friendly too, always a bonus. It's not exactly fine dining, but if you're after a quick, tasty, and satisfying meal, especially when that chicken craving hits, KFC Newbury is a great shout. Plus, who can resist those fries? Shout-out to Harry for amazing customer service btw.

I was thoroughly excited and positively buzzing to eat my fried chicken. The chicken was slightly undercooked but all around was quite moist and soggy. After i have devoured my wet oily Kentucky fried chicken i had a short stroll into the lavatory. It is in a convenient location however as i entered an awful stench hit my nostrils with such force I almost fainted. I saw the most horrible sight ever and it was disturbing to say the least. There was poo-poo everywhere, it must have been a biproduct of the fried chicken that some poor soul had excreted out of the bottom. I would give a higher rating, but the toilet made me feel most unwell.

I went to Newbury KFC last day and the experience was great. Food and atmosphere was fabulous. Especially their customer service. Front staff Kripa was so kind and friendly she helped me to open the door bcoz I had so many carry bags with me. She was attentive and smart helped me and recommended the best chicken hot wings meal.

Gave three stars as food is to KFC standards and service is a bit slow, the downside is the toilets are always not clean, twice i have visited on different occasions and there’s no tissues or soap in the dispenser, Hygiene in the toilets is low standard

Awful experience at this location. Ordered a 6 and 3 piece separately. The female worker threw all the chicken in 1 bucket box and had the audacity to get upset when asked how many pieces were in the bucket? She actually snatched the chicken from us to separate them. If we wanted a 9 piece we would have ordered it (which is not an option). KFC at this location do not appear to value customers and inflation that requires consumers to pay for packaging for separate orders. Very disappointed in the treatment by this employee. Her attitude was awful.

Really strong service here, my order for a 4pc meal and those buffalo bites was done in like 2 minutes. Think the restaurant could be a little cleaner overall, but still nicely cooked food and staff seem nice.

Food OK, but don't stay to long in the carpark to eat in especially if with a grieving family member you haven't seen in a while otherwise you get a £60 fine ......sorry I sat and enjoyed your food for to long, I promise I won't be back, seems I'm not the only one either!!

My wife's meal took 25mins to come while mine sat on the side getting cold, when I asked for it to be replaced the person behind the counter did not speak English so didn't help. I won't going here again and suggest you don't either

Service is quick and food is served very hot. Background music is a bit loud but I normally have my headphones in anyway to block out their noise ha. If you need a quick bite while in Newbury, it's not a bad choice (plus if you get the bus, it's great to get food while you wait - if I ever had to get the bus).

You guys honestly need too fix your deliveries I have waited over an hour and my delivery keeps being moved from deliveroo I'm si tired of paying full price and getting cold food you guys suck stop stealing money😏

Everytime we order from KFC in Newbury (RG14) There is always something missing from the order. In this case it was the gravy. Its happened at least 3 times before, we just never bother going back as its not worth the petrol money. However its getting out of hand now...

Best food with great customer service

Not happy just had my delivery and only had two items not 3, kfc not answering so lost out yet again.😡

Ordered through their app where all the prices are inflated by 2/3£ +4£ delivery fee. They messed up my order and I'm not able to request any kind of refund. If I want my order right I need to go to the restaurant, they don't take any sort of responsibility for their mistake since they don't even have their own delivery staff. I honestly feel robbed.

Ordered through just eat. Arrived within the time stated so no problem there. Then it went downhill from there. Ordered a10 piece bucket received a 6 piece, ordered popcorn chicken was not sent. Then to top it off 3 pieces of the chicken wasn’t even cooked all the way through. If I could give it no stars I would.

Has the nicest chicken and gravy of any KfC that I have been to. Fries are also great now they’re seasoned. Service is fast and friendly. Absolutely zero issues.

Small and easily overcrowded, car park is only room for 7 or 8 cars.

Check what they put in a bucket of chicken. They like to hide tiny little pieces at the bottom under larger pieces that count as 'portions' so they're giving less. They've done this several times now.

Tiny portion sizes and extremely poor value for money. Slow delivery (JustEat took 90 mins to deliver 2 meals within a 2 mile radius). Take your money elsewhere people.

The young man at the front is very rude ,gave me a wrong order and when l told him that's not what l ordered he kept on insisting that was it as if lm stupid after finding out he was wrong there was no apology carried on with his attitude the food was ok his did not enjoy because his attitude put me off

Not bad KFC, quick service and hot food but the toilet really let's it down, needs a good clean and clearly not checked very often.

Just got home from collecting boneless share box, no large gravey :( so disappointed. Tried calling but no answer. What's the point in ordering if no graveyard graveyard dip it in. Very sad date night for me and my kids...

Foods okay and service is ok. Check ya bag if takeing away tho because several times ive not had food in the bag. And when contacting the store they are not very helpfull

The parking is small and needs resurfacing, the shop was dirty and the food wasn't great

This place just keeps getting worse and worse. Food quality is so poor, and they often are out of stock of food, or just don't give you the food at all which is a nightmare when you drive all the way home to realise that a burger is missing. We have given it a few chances now, but enough is enough and we just have to accept we can't eat KFC anymore as it's the only local branch.

I would give it no stars if I could my takeaway arrived via uber 10 mons late and half of it missing. What did turn up was cold and stale

Was probably the worst KFC I have ever had. Tasted like it was cooked in very very old oil. Would have taken it back but had already driven off before I started eating.

Kfc Newbury, with changes to road layout, can be tricky to locate. No external seating. Inside was clean and tidy, and staff were polite. No drive through at this location. Overall standard KFC food, good staff location could be better for access.

It's OK,I remembered the seasoned crumb being crumb on the chicken pieces,but it resembled overcooked batter.,at least it was quiet and we got the food promptly.

From my experience, only going to give this KFC a 3 star. I know, it's a KFC, what do you expect? Food, standard guilty pleasure. I went a bit "new" in my choices and honestly value for money in store complained to delivering apps in certain a reason for me to do more walks. Service... Well, I can't blame them for it being a Sunday but if no one sees you at the counter, they will think it was closed. Plus, I understand probably hanging but giving everyone devil's and rolling your eyes when people ask stuff is just not good for wanting me to comeback. My Mrs was in a fowl mood as she didn't expect to be spoken to like she was nothing more than mud on a shoe. The guy who came out was alright. Definitely hanging but hey we've all been teenagers. Finally, atmosphere. If you want to be alone with your thoughts, 10/10. This is the quietest KFC I've ever seen 🤣

KFC wouldn't be my go to place for a nice meal out but I was surprised at how succulent and tasty the (original fried) chicken was, and I really enjoyed the cold drink (a refreshing, fruity one). My granddaughter and I couldn't find a menu in our usual eateries that appealed. Three stars only because the dining experience wasn't great but then it was as expected for a fast food, principally takeaway establishment.

I wouldn't recommend this place since they somehow managed to give me and my friend pretty bad food poisoning from ice cream. So yeah, don't trust this place. Go somewhere else instead.

Not sure it is because the Andover restaurant is so poor, but in comparison the Newbury one was great, quick and polite service, fresh food, no drama, so thank you.

Be aware of the parking limit as it is only 1 hour and the service can be incredibly slow and they often make mistakes. We met here as a family with small children to get dinner so unfortunately had 2 cars. Service was slow which is not unusual here as the restaurant is busy and understaffed. At the time of our visit on a Tuesday evening it was not particularly busy but it was still slow and the restaurant area was very messy/dirty. Due to the time to get the food and also the time it takes small children to eat we went over the parking time by 12 minutes meaning 2 parking tickets. We were told by staff that it could be reversed and they took our details. However, we were later phoned back to say that they could reverse it if they wanted but wouldn't. Yes, this is our fault for not realising the parking time was so short but most establishments will reverse parking fines for genuine customers. Lesson here is go to McDonalds, the service is not always quick as it is busy but at least the parking is 3 hours so you won't get fined.

It's in a very convenient location, though it isn't as easy to get to as it used to be now you can't turn here off the roundabout. It's small, and there's very little parking.

We visited KFC on Sunday around 8 pm. Food was alright but the restaurant was very dirty including the toilets. Tables were not cleared or cleaned long after the customers left. Ours was cleared only after we requested them to, although the restaurant wasn't very busy too.

Very hit and miss with the food from here, sometimes it's OK other times either cooked to death or running with grease. This time it was ok, except chips where only just warm, service was not so good never asked if we was eating in or taking away, just got all the food in a bag, ordered for 4 people including a bargain bucket deal, no plate given or offered, had to go back to get forks for the coleslaw was given 1, then no cups for the drinks so back to the counter again, very few sauces in bag, ( asked for ketchup and mayo) so back to the counter again. No napkins in bag so up the counter to get some and only about 3 laid out so had to ask again for some more, would have been nice just to sit and have my food in one go, plus side the ice cream was good and would say large size for the money too.

Food was disgusting. The oil was clearly old and needed changing. The hot wings were so greasy they were inedible. The chips were cold and soggy. The only good food was the BBQ bites. Will never go back to this store.

Absolutely awful, poor portions about 9 chips (no kidding) the counter assistant was useless as for the food, I was violently sick in the night with stabbing pains in my stomach and still felt awful all day today, the worst kfc I have ever had, Newbury KFC shame on you , never again!! If you value your health, stay away from KFC Newbury 🤢 the only reason I left 1 star is you cant post a revue with no stars...it won't let you AWFUL!!

Turned up at 1pm on a Tuesday. Closed. No sign of life. No other info provided on the door.

Really slow poor service today had to wait for items to cook to complete order, they left my chicken and chips out on the side for 15 mins not in a keep warm oven or ban Marie. No apology and had to ask for fresh food as the chicken and chips were cold when handed over. Really need to retrain the staff as normally they are better than this

Ordered on app. Ready about 30 seconds after arriving - except the drinks. Overall pretty good and nearly always very busy - hence the app ordering. Could do with a better way of serving soft ice cream for takeaway- I nearly ended-up wearing it trying to exit the door.

Worth avoiding, especially if ordering for delivery. The staff seem poorly trained and almost always leave something off the order. The last straw for me was when they couldn’t be bothered to even put spicy mayo on our zinger burgers

1st time here, good location and parking is also avilable. I went to order the food but few of the staff was arguing and did not pay attention at for few min. The guy who served me was really not motivated to talk to me and seemed angry. I got my food quick but the food was cold fries stale. Chicken fillet was dry. Maybe it was just a bad day, will definitely give another chance.

Pity you can't score a zero So there am I, sitting at home hungry not had a KFC in ages. I think I'll get one but it's bonfire night. Never mind they must deliver? Nope. So I drive there the machine isn't loading properly so I go to the old school till. I order 3 pieces and chips l. Order comes quickly. I grab it and shoot off. The parking is pants at this location and people block you in. I race home to beat the guy Fawkes traffic. I get in the door and get to the kitchen. I open the bag that thinking here we go first one since before lockdown. There's 3 portions of chips in there. New commences a lot of swearing and a to be of disappointment. Actually not that much as the chips were soggy and not like the KFC I recall. KFC Newbury sort yourseleves out !!!
