Kesar Punjabi Restaurant in Greenwich

Always love going to Kesar. Food is authentic and never fails to deliver. Portion sizes are good and the naans are always cooked to perfection. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kesar.

Undoubtedly a treat. Food is authentic Punjabi. Has perhaps more chillies but I am sure that can be reduced on request. Freshly prepared. Could be labelled well when taken away. Service could be slow if in a hurry. But would recommend nevertheless.

Ordered chole batura online and they forgot to send batura. We called and they said to collect personally though delivery charges were paid. Veg biryani was extreme spicy looks like they made veg curry and just mix rice to call it veg biryani. Kulfi if just cold ice milk formed into ice cream. What a horrible experience. We had to go to restaurant to pick batura. Their dishes are with exorbitant rates but not worth that money. Beware when you order online, as they just warm fridge food and give you.

Experience-0/10 Customer service-0/10 Food-3/10 very average I would be better off if I had rather given that money to a homeless person and slept empty stomach then spend 10 pounds travelling there having to deal with an unpleasant situation and then paying for something that was so mediocre in taste. I called the restaurant and asked for a particular item that I really wanted to have as i was homesick. I made sure that they know I was travelling an hour to get there to eat only that specific item and keep a table ready. They even asked me to come to a specific time which i agreed and arrived on time as I was really hungry. I got settled down by the waiter which even recognised me from the call.i placed the order and the waiter came to tell me how they are out of that dish, which i was very surprised cause i called just an hour back to confirm it’s availability. I was very angry with the same and asked him to recheck with the management to which another waiter came and started making up some weird stories which we both knew were lies and playing the victim in the story when i told him i was going to leave a review. I asked to talk to the manager and I literally was able to see a guy who was clearly managing the team and then the team lied again saying the manager isn’t there😂. Fast forward i wanted to leave as all other dishes i could have near my house and cheaper but the waiter asked me to stay and order and i can have anything on house which honestly i knew was a lie cause they made me pay for the whole thing 😃😃😃.not even any discount for inconvenience or any other gesture. It was nog the money that bothered me it’s how they treated me. Food was also very average and took so long to arrive and of course they made errors with that as well. Honestly wasn’t even surprised. So guys if you are planning to go in a big group or planning to celebrate i would advise not to aa staff is not trained properly to handle situations and management lacks managing skills. They will ruin things and your day will be ruined and like me you will travel burn your own money, feel bad about the staff cause it’s not their direct mistake and then come home feeling horrible.

£46.00 for 2 people for a delivery!….. my order was this…1 chicken dansak, 1 chicken jalfrezi , 1 mushroom fried rice, 1 chicken tikka starter, 1 naan , and 4 popadoms (only 3 delivered) no salad and no mint sauce….chicken in all dishes was as tough as f##k, string like texture 😡… Kesar are a fu#king disgrace to Indian cooking… will never use this place again, NEVER!

The Punjabi Goat dish is absoultely delicious with saag and a butter naan. They delivered within the time fame set and were very courteous. I shall definitely use them again.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner in the restaurant recently after using the takeaway service in lockdown. Thoroughly recommend the keema mutter (mince lamb) and butter chicken curry from the Specials (good value at £9.99 each) and peshwari naan. Initially we thought some of the portions looked small but in fact we didn't manage to finish it as it's pretty filling! Previously we've tried some of the vegetarian dishes (aloo tikki and daal) and these were decent too.

The restaurant offers a great ambiance for a family to sit and dine with covid precautions that were in place. Their mixed grill is amazing! Its a must have, along with the lamb curry and the naans. You cannot go wrong by trying this restaurant! The management is amazing and are always at hand to assist. Do ask for recommendations on what to eat depending on your mood and taste. I highly recommend dining here.

I’ve been to Kesar a few time’s and the food has gradually improved from my first sitting. It’s actually now become one of my favourites in North Greenwich. The reason for the low score is the attitude of one the main waiters, I didn’t catch his name but he’s short and wears a thick bracelet on his hand. He takes his own thoughts on the pandemic/rules to be above the law and is open to sharing his poor attitude and opinion with diners. His disregard is apparent as he doesn’t wear a mask (leaves it around his neck for show) and goes round from table to table serving customers, talking over their food while serving it on the table and maintains no social distancing. I consider myself to be a high risk individual and after the first time of venturing out after a long time was left with anxiety. It’s people like him that are ruining it for establishments who are taking the rules seriously in order to remain staying open. Additionally, the restaurant did not take track and trace details in both my recent visits. I’ll be happy to order again via delivery but will not be visiting in person again soon.

Imagine a restaurant in London that serves authentic chole bhature (and note that the bhatura leaves no oil behind in your plate!). This place was a find as their menu offers quite difficult to find dishes in London like malai kofta and besan kadi. The place itself is quite clean and basic. The staff were attentive and service was great. The food was fresh and very authentic. A must try is their goat curry! I can't wait to go again and get my hands on chole bhature:)

Really good curry got dinner. Was packed out. Had chicken achari and a good mango lassi. Didn’t try the starters. The price was reasonable. No oil on the plate afterwards so it’s clearly a well made curry. Good job.

I go here on regular bases as per my experience the food is fabulous and the service too, but I am really disappointed with the prices on the menu are still same even the government has reduce the VAT on food from 20% to 5% I really hope the owner reduces the menu price by at-least 10 % discount on bill the help the people lost their jobs.

Absolutely love the food here, it is real punjabi food and has a lot of traditional offerings on the menu that you do not usually find in London establishments. They can vary the chilli content according to taste too. One of the only takeaways I have seen that offer bhatura on the menu, great papdi chaat and mattar paneer too. So many great quality veggie dishes. Only thing that annoyed us is that a few times the food has taken a while to arrive as the driver got lost but that happens sometimes in new areas.

Pretty authentic india taste, had great malai kofte after a long time in london. Daal dishes are descent. Kulchas are great options also in breads.
