Kervansaray Harold Hill in Havering

Discussed about hair in my plate. Lack of customer care and assistance. Puting phones down once you complain. Looks like really stupid people there. Anyways review will do it's job. Take care people.

We ordered from the takeaway menu. This was our first time although the restaurant is only close by and we’ve never visited. We ordered the kebab combination and taramasalata.It was delivered early but that was no problem. The meal was accompanied by bread, rice and salad. Couldn’t fault it and this has wet our appetite to dine at the restaurant as soon as lockdown2 ends!!!

Waited ages for food when it finally arrived it was stone cold the portions where small and over priced

Ordered take away tonight, phone service good, time taken to prepare meal good and food was yummy. However portion size compared to the price you pay is ridiculous. They are very expensive for very tiny portions, so much so that I would say it’s ripping people off. As much as I liked the food I won’t be returning

Customers for 5+ years and we won’t order again.The rice in each of our kebabs tonight had stroke inducing levels of salt. Upon the order being resent, take a look at the pic, £31 for 3 kebabs & over cooked, soggy chips.Our original salads were ruined as we had mixed with the salad before eating.This place always makes small errors with takeaways, which we have swallowed in the past, literally at times.The way an inedible order was handled tonight and what was resent was an absolute disgrace and totally unacceptable.Crap never again.

I booked this restaurant weeks ago for our Christmas meal. Today the day before our night out I recieved a message saying sorry you cancelled your booking! I DID NOT CANCEL!!! I called the restaurant immediately and was told they are too busy to talk to me. This made me very angry and I demanded to speak to somebody for an explanation. Eventually I was told that a large booking had come in so they were sorry but they had to cancel mine. Totally unacceptable. They were more interested in a large booking to make more money and have let me and my friends down. We now have nowhere at such short notice for our Christmas meal. Avoid this restaurant if you do not wish to be let down at the last minute. Terrible customer service.

My family and I went to Kervansaray on Thursday to celebrate my daughter exam success. We used to go a lot here but felt that the amount of meat on the lamb and chicken shish kebabs was getting to small.However my daughter chose kervansaray so we went. We had the family set meal which had one chicken shish one lamb shish multiple lamb and chicken kofte, lamb chops, chicken wings lamb spare ribs, rice salad and meze starter and it said serves 4 to 5!! But in my opinion and I have a fairly large appetite it was easily enough for 6!! It was absolutely lovely. Highly recommended and will start using again.Finally it cost £55 and I think that’s an absolute bargain.

we were on our way home stopped for takeAway decided to upgrade to sit in restaurant a great decision on our part ..Food n service was very very good Sibel an attentive waitress . lamb kebab salad hot fresh bread with dips 2nd to none we will be back .thoroughly recomend this place .

Fantastic food and outstanding service. The whole team made my 80year old dad's birthday very special. The manager Ismail is fantastic, very polite and did everything he could to make sure the service was first class as usual. We had lunch here on mothers day and had to come back because of the great service, tasty food which is good value for money and brilliant staff. Thank you Kervan Saray!

Best place to try Turkish cuisine by far in this area.Nice and polite staff and limb dishes are to die for.

Went here after Dine card offered discount, owner was rude and refused to accept Dine discount even though it’s still advertised now food was dry and below average no salad served until we asked, wouldn’t recommend, no comparison to other Turkish restaurant’s like Kervan kitchen or shush meze, I would stay well clear

My family and I had a meal in this restaurant on Saturday evening, we have used it on quite a few occasions but not reviewed yet. We sat down and ordered drinks we had complementary olives on the table but waited for quite a while for the warm flat bread to arrive, the restaurant was very busy we also had quite a wait for main course. The food is very very good the lamb is so tender with lovely bbq flavour but maybe a couple more pieces would be nice.I will definitely use again but they need a few more staff on a busy Saturday night.But don’t let it put you off as food is great.

Enjoyed the food thoroughly! Was very sceptical as usually Turkish food around romford is blaaand, but I was amazed. Calamari was amazing, Lahmacun was superb, and the sheesh was all so tender and not dry at all. Will definitely be reordering again. So glad I have a local Turkish I can order from now. Please give more calamari lol. Keep it up!

This restaurant in my opinion is the leading Turkish Meze restaurant in Havering Essex. (Eat in & takeaway) possibly one of the leading restaurants in essex?The food is always delicious charcoal grilled succulent chicken lamb etc etc and the food always turns up on the plate well presented. The staff are always well turned out and smart and have impeccable manners when serving you. If you live or work in the area or are staying in the area it's well worth a visit.

Just had a beautiful lunch here. All the food was lovely, lunch menu good value for money. All the staff very friendly and lovely atmosphere. Will come back very soon a little gem in Harold Hill.

Very nice Indian restaurant and local. Food is exelent with friendly helpful staff. Great place after a long day.

I picked up a takeaway, and when I got back to work with it the vegetarian halloumi was meat (see picture), and the chicken shish was lamb. I phoned the restaurant to explain and ask for a refund and they insisted on the food back beforehand which worried me a little. I explained I couldn't leave work and they said they would pick it up. I then explained my work was a secure site and they would not be able to get to it so they then hung up and swore at me. When Just Eat phoned them on my behalf, they denied me even ordering from them and so I am down on money and have no food as I do not eat lamb and a vegetarian cannot eat meat. Really disappointed with this place and will not be using it again.

This family oriented restaurant has a very cozy interior... We love the food, the service, the ambiance...and the birthday songs etc,

You just cannot complain about this restaurant.

We can’t fault this place which is why we keep going back. Lovely, authentic food - and lots of it I think prices had gone up since we last visited but fair enough and still reasonable compared to other Essex Turkish restaurants!! Highly recommended

cannot believe we have never tried this restaurant before as we are walking distance form our home. we came here for lunch and the food service and staff were fantastic good price for great food

Loved our Turkish experience at Kervansaray. Delicious food, freshly cooked. Generous portions. Fantastic hospitality. Very accommodating for our children. Thoroughly recommend.

Loved the food and the lunch menu deal. Plenty of food. Had the falafel and hummus starter and the Adana kofte for my main. Lovely atmosphere.

Eat here twice with friends as a large group and small group. both times were fantastic.

We have had takeaway from here before but never eaten in. Unfortunately my daughter was taken ill and so we had to go home, our waitress got all our food packed up for us to take home. The food was delicious as usual and we will be back.

Everything you could want in service and food quality, always feel welcome when we come for dinner! Definitely recommend

My little family and I visited here on saturday and were made to feel ever so welcome. The staff are so so lovely and nothing is ever too much for them. The food is delicious. We love it here and can't wait to return. Brilliant food & service what more could you want?

as stated above this is my second visit and I noticed a couple of things that needed improving firstly the hot hors d'oeuvres should arrive when you have been served your drinks not after you have ordered your food (as sometimes deciding what to eat can take some time) also we ordered Baklava which was not fresh obviously left over from whenever

this restaurant rip regular customers off who order twice a week . Shame really the food is quite nice, BE AWARE you will get ripped off.

We ordered a medium chicken- we got one small box with 3 pieces of chicken for £7. I ordered prawns with potato and veg-

This was recommended to us by a local as, best in town. We had a kebab takeaway on Saturday as visitors my husband walked to shop and ordered. Said staff were very friendly and polite. Clean nice open place. We tucked in with relish big portions I wasn't impressed with the kebab lamb chewy minced one OK. All sides nice salad and houmous best I've had since Greece (apart from mine lol) if we hadn't had one earlier in trip in Romford I would have rated it better to be fair. But it was a nice meal.

The food is great , with good prices. Cannot complain eaten here many times and never has a bad meal !

Kervan Saray is my go to restaurant. I have never had a bad meal from here, the food is beautiful every single time. The staff are amazing, all so friendly and helpful, nothing is a trouble for them at all. They always encourage me to try new things like the flowering tea! The best place in Romford for me.

Great night at the Kervan always get great food and outstanding fantastic service! Make sure you have a meal if your in the area.

I have eaten at their Gidea Park branch and I am pleased to say that the food is of the same high standard

I went in here on the 5/05/2017 and bought a large chicken shish and some helim...I gave him 20 pound and he gave me 2.25 back.. i thought this was a little bit expense when i thought about it so i checked it out the cost online and it should have been 12.25.. over charged me by 5 pound, the way he gave me the change and quickly scuttered off makes sense now, unfortunately i think he meant it.... my wife orders me a takeaway from here at least 3 times a week... no longer will she or I use this place to eat.

The staff are very welcoming, attentive and helpful. We are quite picky with our food, they listened and got it right. The food was absolutely delicious. I'm looking forward to a return visit, soon.

went with family who live in harold hill, it was their 2nd visit. nice clean, , good food , good servicereasonable prices. would go again when next down that way

Second visit friendly staff.Lovely and clean.We like it because they also offer a small meal which suited us. Our only downside comment but it's personal is we wished they did more choice on the salad with cucumber.But in the whole will definitely be returning.

I have been to this restaurant on many occasions I have been to the one also in Gidea Park and some in Edmonton and Tottenham I've always been very happy and pleased with the service, that was until last Thursday I was not happy I asked for the menu and for a change chose seabass the waiter said to me good choice when The food was delivered to my table it was well presented but then the waiter put a sideplate beside me when I asked him what it is for he said for the bones I was quite shocked to find it still had the spine and lots of bones inside it didn't state it on the menu and when I said to the waiter I wasn't happy his reply to me was what do you want me to do! as I was leaving I pointed out that it might be a good idea to write on the menu that it contains bones as I didn't have my glasses with me my two sisters had to sit either side of me and tell me when there was a bone it was not enjoyable wasn't pleasant very disappointed in the attitude of the waiter as I visited so many times before and spent £500 on my birthday there last year didn't see any of the usual managers to be fair that really really put off by what I experienced. Such a shame have always had a nice time up until then.

The service, quality, quantity of food was extremely good. Nothing was too much to ask for and the waiters / manager could not do enough for us.

I had rang up 3 hours before booking time to get there only to find they had not put my name on the list which led to a 35 minute wait for our table. We then had to ask to buy drinks, after 15 minutes of waiting we had to eventually get them ourselves from the bar. Our meals got mixed up and overall it was not what we expected as per previous visits.

Everything in this place is amazing.

Poor service all round, first waitress took drink orders, then left and served other tables with drinks that walked in 5mins after us, then reordering with waiter was still left, and ask waitress and was looked out like scum, starters, mine was served, 10 mins later had to ask for my husbands, got up and walked out when main was served with a food I'm allergic to all over plate, which was stated when placing order, very disappointed waist of my lunch time. Never again.

I can not recommend this restaurant enough! The food was brilliant, the service great and considering we were there in a party of 60 people nothing was to much trouble. I had the Chicken Shish with yogurt and would say it was better than food i'd had on holiday in Turkey.

Traditional Turkish with all the add-on trimming that can be expected. Similar menu to every Turkish you go to. Lamb is extremely tender.

The place it's a really gem in this area, it's a great restaurant with pleasant atmosphere and of course amazing food, staff is very helpful. I definitely recommend this place for a great dinner or small event.

Lovely food, reasonably priced, staff can't do enough for you, and a really great atmosphere- I prefer this Restaurant to their Gidea Park one. Best Turkish food I've had in the area so far.

Been to the Gidea park restaurant a few times thought I'd try this one. The restaurant was full but didn't seem like it was as it's more spacious than Gidea park. Food was excellent, service was just right. The staff were extremely friendly and polite. Couldn't do enough for you. Cost was reasonable about £45 per head but that was mainly down to a lot of drink. Would recommend 100% will be visiting again soon . Thanks for a great night.

Really good restaurant waiters were great and polite had the lunch menu plenty of it . It's massive inside you forget that your in a tiny place in Harold Hill. I will definitely be going back for another dinner or lunch. I would definitely recommend eating here

I am not to sure what all the fuss is about, we had a take away and I wasn't that impressed with all the rice and huge bread thing, it just seemed like a total waste of money, ever since we have failed to have a take away from here. I wouldn't chose to eat in the restaurant of buying a take away I'm given loads of rice ect, I am mislead as to what this restaurant is all about.

Booked for a table of 16 to celebrate my dad's 75th birthday. We have been before so knew the food was good. Everyone loved their meals and all said they would return. Even the birthday boy who was a bit hesitant in trying Turkish food! The staff were very attentive and helpful. Great place!

I have visited this place 3 times since it opened, once for a take away and the others eating in. While waiting for our take away we were offered complimentary drinks which was a lovely gesture! Both times we have been back I ordered the Sea Bass which is out of this world. Flavours are great and plenty of meat!! The staff in here go above and beyond for their customers and they have even now remembered our drinks orders!! When I popped in last week a couple and their 15 month old son came in and the waiters played with the little boy and kept him occupied while his parents ate, not many places would do this and they are an absolute credit to themselves!

Just ordered and picked the most delicious kebab I have ever eaten ! It tasted like I was on holiday in turkey ! I had heard that their restaurant in gidea park was good so couldn't wait to try this new and very local one and I must say I would most defiantly be going back again but I'll be booking a table and sitting in next time for sure

Me and a couple of friends visited here for lunch and I have to say we couldn't fault the place! The food was delicious, it was reasonably priced, the servings were huge and the staff were lovely. Can't wait to go back!

We visited here last night with friends as we like Turkish themed food and had tried the other Kervansaryat Gidea Park.This is a very good Restaurant chain and have found the food to be delicious at both Venues.The best thing about this Newly Opened one is the Decor and the spacious lay out of the tables which are quite Tight in Gidea a park.You have comfortable Chairs and attentive staff who made us feel welcome and not rushed.The food is very well presented and very Tasty plus we had 2 complimentary dishes of Grilled Vedge and Another of Turkish onion salad which both are served in a delicious Jus made with Pomegranate .It has a sharp pickled edge to it which went down well with the 2 Baskets of Turkish bread again no charge.The Kalamar Starters were very well cooked with a nice side of salad and tender.The Mains were all good and the Prawn Main was extremely generous.The staff were helpful and friendly which made for a very enjoyable evening.I hope they continue keep up this standard and we will definitely go back if only for the Rice puddings we were given to take home with Compliments.Thanks for a lovely Night out.

Visited a couple of weeks after it first opened with my partner and we cannot wait to go back!
