Visited this place alongwith family and lived the place. We ordered for Victorian sponge cakes, black coffee and Vegan Oat cookies. Believe me, the sponge cake was splendid and had never tasted such beautiful sponge cake before. A must visit place for food lovers

Here for afternoon tea. We booked and arrived at 4.15. At 5.05 we were told the cafe would close in 30 minutes. It actually closed at 6.00. At 5.20 we were given our bill and the staff proceeded to start cleaning round us! Extremely poor staff. Would not recommend and will never go again

The setting of this restaurant is very nice, next to the palace and overlooking secret gardens. Lots of people come here for afternoon tea which looked very nice. However we decided to have lunch. Menu has a good choice although not extensive. Our dishes arrived promptly however no cutlery. We have asked 3 different waiters to bring us knives and forks … Then we asked for coffee and also had to wait quite a bit … Perhaps staff is not well trained which is a shame as this place could of been great

Great food, service weak. Lovely food. We had a light lunch. Service was weak, we asked 3 times for an item and food was getting cold while we waited. Paying was difficult. In the end we had to leave the table and go up to the desk. Staff did not appear to understand the way we spoke, as we found it difficult to make ourselves understood.

After an enjoyable morning spent in Kensington palace my friends and I decided to have afternoon tea in The Pavilion, sadly The Orangery is closed. It was very busy inside so we decided to sit outside despite the weather not being that warm. We were shown to the first table nearest the doors, immediately we found it was not stable or laid out for 3 people, the waitress found something to stick under the leg of the table to stop it moving. No one was in any rush to get another place setting despite our food having turned up by then. One of my friends picked up her plate and found coronation chicken stuck to the bottom of it and chewing gum stuck on her chair too. We were told that the coffee machine wasn’t working so only filter coffee was available and no decaf. Mine and my friends tea turned up in a pot but my other friends coffee came in some sort of beaker, she asked if it could be put in a nice bone china cup and saucer like ours but was told no! Finally a waiter turned up with a proper cup but our waitress couldn’t have cared less about trying to make it a pleasant experience. The food itself was good but there are so many better places in London to have afternoon tea. I felt quite ashamed that being British and not a tourist that this was a bad reflection on the royal family and the palace. We must have asked for the bill 4 times before it finally came, I honestly felt like leaving without paying we waited so long. I have emailed directly to give them a chance to respond to my comments but not heard anything, they don’t care as they have a captive market there. Go somewhere else is my advice.

My 14-year-old daughter and I made a reservation here for afternoon tea while on our Mother/Daughter trip to London. We had been walking all morning, so this was a delightful, and restful, experience for us both! It was very warm during our trip, so we skipped the hot tea in favor of cold beverages. We shared the adult tea service of sandwiches, scones, and cakes. The cakes were overly sweet, but we loved the little decorated chocolates on top. It was the perfect amount of food for us to share as lunch. The service was friendly. Pricey overall, but less than some of the afternoon teas I had researched, and the location really was lovely. We enjoyed walking through the gardens as we left.

We had reserved a table for 8 for Afternoon Tea for a Hen do. We really could not have had a better experience. The lovely host arranged us a perfect round table on the outside veranda and the food, ambience and service were exemplary. We had a range of dietary requirements from vegan to allergies, to just plain dislikes, and all of these were accommodated smoothly and easily. Our bride has had her wedding delayed twice since 2020 and really needed the special event the whole team ensured we enjoyed. Thanks to everyone.

What was supposed to be a special occasion for my mothers 85th birthday ended up being a complete (very expensive) disappointment. We had managed to find respite care for my father so this was her first trip out in 2 years! The staff were so rude. The place is literally a tired old marque in the grounds. Please if you are considering an afternoon tea in London do not go. So expensive and they expected a £20 tip!!!!! For what? When we asked for a box to take some cakes home the woman threw them on the table and walked away. I had to pay as I didn’t want to make a fuss in front of my mother. I did write to them to give them a chance to explain or apologise but of course they have not replied. I assume they do not feel they need to make any effort as the royal link will ensure a steady stream of tourists. Do not be fooled. Nothing about the experience is grand or special. Oh apart from the chocolate dusting on the top of the (tiny) cappuccino in the shape of a crown!

The worst afternoon tea ever!!! Bad location, it wasn’t the orangerie but the pavilion... a tensile structure that they are using during the restoration. Bad lights, was cold inside, the floor was trembling and we asked to change the table but the new one was unstable!!! Bad quality af Pastries and sandwiches, the clotted cream was acid and the ham was hard to eat! We asked for lemon curd but the waitress didn’t know what it was and then she said “we don’t have it”. Ridiculous selection of teas... 6/7 dark and only one green.... come on you are English!!! The manager answered to our disappointment by saying “this is our afternoon tea “ but not in line with our expectations for 34 pounds per person !!! Been in Kensington Palace....What a shame !!!!! Kate and William must control the quality of what is supplied under their brand!!!!

If you are at Kensington Palace, your food choices seem to be a loud, clattery self-service cafe or the Pavillion, which has table service. The Pavillion's atmosphere is faux refined British tea room, but light and airy. The lunch menu offered some variety, including vegan. The risotto, vegan tofu, and duck breast were certainly edible, but nothing to write home about. The service was dreadful -- there was what looked like a rather large waitstaff, but apparently not assigned to specific tables, which meant we had no waitperson until we flagged someone down and asked for menus. But she didn't return to take our order, which meant we had to flag somebody else down ten minutes later. In the meantime, there was lots of standing around by staff. Baffling in this era of short-staffing and emphasis on staff efficiency.

I made a reservation for 4pm on a Saturday weeks in advance for 3 despite mediocre reviews. We wanted a relaxing afternoon tea without having to dress up too much. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the scenery of the garden next to the Palace. We were seated right next to the entrance on the outside patio (still renovating The Orangery) and ordered tea for 2 and a orange juice. The tea for 2 was enough snack food for 3 of us before a late dinner, and we didn't get much scuff for not ordering tea for 3. The weather was very nice that day, a bit chilly, but we had a pleasant time. The food itself was 3/5 and the tea was pretty decent. We each got 1 tea refill, and they came out pretty quickly after ordering. The staff was nice, not extremely attentive, but I knew what I was getting before going in. Walking around the garden afterwards was the highlight as the afternoon tea is overpriced in my opinion, but it was a nice leisurely thing to do on vacation in London.

Pro: The setting is lovely and we were greeted pleasantly when we arrived, the tea itself and the cuke sandwich and the scone with clotted cream were all tasty. Con: Long wait (with few people there) for a waitress; as we had never experienced tea we needed some explanations - which was apparently a huge inconvenience as twice the waitress left to talk with other tables before returning to us. There three types of sandwiches only one of which was good and one was inedible, and 1 scone which was good, and 3 cakes - 2 of which did not seem fresh - one had a fingerprint in it. When we were ready to leave we almost just walked out as we could not get any waiter to get us a bill - our waitress had disappeared - so I went up to the hostess and explained we had been trying to leave for awhile and I was just going to hand her money - she quickly got our bill. There are lots of tea opportunities in London - Go Somewhere Else.

I went in alone for tea in the middle of the afternoon. There were plenty of tables. Long story but three different staff members moved me. They wanted me to sit at the bar (uncomfortable), then moved me from a table under which they wished to sweep crumbs, then from another they claimed was ‘dangerous ‘ because a long way away they were mending a light. I was baffled. It was as though I were an inconvenience to their housekeeping. I felt very unwelcome and decided to go elsewhere... Their hospitality has gone haywire.

No te molestes. Ahorra tu dinero. Obtendrás mejores galletas y pasteles del Sr. Kipling en Tesco.
