Tried Ken’s for the first time today from recommendations from family members I had chicken fried rice curry chicken samosas with curry sauce everything was delicious thoroughly cooked and piping hot and there was plenty of it, definitely could make a meal for 2 if you got chips thrown. Couldn’t be anymore positive really, definitely worth the money

Businesses who do take away should have some one who speaks clear English and shouldn’t be working as the chef Rude obnoxious arrogant person thinking because they cook food they can be rude There is no worst kind of racist than a Chinese racist gave these guys the benefit of the doubt but the lack of customer service is not acceptable not gonna give them Anymore of my money bad service and bad attitude

Had the beef and black bean with fried rice, food was ready in 10 mins, payed by card. Friendly staff and great tasting food

Was the best Chinese in Chester,been ordering food from here for quite a few years now but time for a change! Food has slowly been getting worse,bland with not much flavour,chicken wings dry and portions smaller Beef in chilli and garlic bland and not much different from the beef chow mein Time to find somewhere else to order!

BE AWARE; Big issues I’m afraid to say again at Ken’s currently. My last two orders have been woefully poor. The bland and disappointing food they have prepared now on the last two occasions is shameful. My disappointment is compounded further when I reflect that until recently this place had been the last bastion for a half decent Singapore fried noodles in Chester but alas it has now seemingly drifted into the arena of the all the other totally crap Chinese restaurants cheshire has to offer. After over twenty years of patronage and hundreds of orders I’m more upset than angry, sad that they have fallen from grace, sad that I’ve nowhere else to turn without a drive to Manchester or London for a simple vermicelli but most of all sad that I’m compelled to write this note warning others of my plight. Farewell Ken, god bless.

Best Chinese takeaway in Chester.

First and last time I've been here, ordered noodles and beansprouts but received a plastic box with just beansprouts in a horrible bland gloopy brown sauce.

I don't really write reviews wether it's good or bad, but I had to on this one - the best black bean dish I've had. Cheers lads!!!!

I ordered a salt and pepper munchy box. Wow did this disappoint, once it arrived I opened up the box excited to eat. All the chicken bites were cold, chicken pies soggy and disgusting, ribs were more gristle than meat chips all soggy. And to top it all off they were supposed to be salt and pepper and this has to be the worst version I have ever tasted. Zero flavour. Avoid at all costs disgusting food.

We used to get food here all the time and it was delicious. Went back after a break of a year or so and probably won't be going back. The ribs were tough and either mainly fat or mainly bone. Very little meat and what there was was tough. Chicken wings were poor quality and the fried rice was tasteless. Chicken samosas were saving grace.

Horrible recooked chips, crispy shredded beef? Was like eating slime.

We rented a house nearby and ordered a mixture of food for 5 people .every dish was so tasty and the bbq ribs were amazing .Great food and service .

All these Chinese outlets have dropped the ball, and kens has well and truly picked it up. Put a slight premium on the meal, no delivery minimum order just a delivery charge. Food is fantastic, absolutely the best for food and convenience. Nice staff too. 👏 All the rest are like, £20 minimum and £20 delivery 🤣 well done Ken's. 👏

This is my local take-away who do a fine selection of malay and asian cuisine. Delicious food with my favourite dish being the Singapore Special Curry with Fried Rice and there is plenty of it. Two disappointments... The first that they only accept cash payments, which means, yes, you do have to go out of your way to find a cash machine - which in my opinion, it defeats the purpose of staying at home and ordering online. The second, is to avoid the prawn crackers...no matter if you receive them for free. These crispy little beauties are soo stale, that even my own cat gives her thumbs up for best kitty litter. Not fresh by any standard. Other than that, I have never had an issue with any of the main meals and I highly recommend ordering here.

If any one that knows me my kids family etc I complain all the time If the foods not right saying I'm being fussy etc it makes me so frustrated when you pay what's a lot of money for at the end of the day a take away meal plus the delivery cost so you expect a lovely meal for the first time in a long time we had that normally I dont do reviews I think when you have had a lovely takeaway and for a first time for me to review I think personally for what we had was really good they deserve me to give Ken's kitchen 5☆ all was lovely thank you xx

Good Chinese, probably the best in Chester. Be careful if ordering the sweet chilli noodle box though as it is hot hot! I had to swap with my mother as I could not eat it. If I were to order chilli items from here in the future I may ask them to take it easy on the chilli... I have had many other dishes from here though and never encountered an issue. Great menu, reasonable prices, website is easy to navigate. Don't like the mandatory service charge, even for cash??? Never had a an issue with delayed order unless it has been delivered and was pre-warned that delivery would be 1 hour.

This place!!! We were renting a house nearby and fancied a take away. Ken did not disappoint!!! We had a mixture of dishes, all of which were delicious, but their chicken in honey chilli sauce was just something else! Sadly we can't find it anywhere else 😭 but it wouldn't be the same anyway. We were recommended this takeaway by family, and I have to say it was amazing! We had king prawn and mushroom, which had loads of king prawn in it which was a nice change! We also had beef with ginger and spring onion which was also incredible! The additional fried rice and noodle portions were equally excellent. No thick sticky sauces. Just light sauces and all perfectly cooked. Our delivery was around the time we expected considering we ordered last minute on the Friday of Bank holiday weekend. Fabulous, thank you!! I'm shocked to read the negative reviews! We will definitely continue to order if the food remains like this!!

Ordered a few times from here and food always good but always late. Don't set a 1 hour expectation if it's more like 2 hours. On this occasions that has prompted the review the food eventually arrived and we paid the amount requested in cash by the driver. Half way through eating the meal the driver knocks on the door and said they'd charged the wrong amount.. genuine mistake and having showed the receipt we paid the correct amount. Back to eating our food and again the door goes.. drivers voice is raised and is requesting more money! More money than the total stated on the receipt and what we'd just paid. Whole experience has put me off ordered again.. just not worth the hassle.

This is our 4th takeaway from Ken’s via Bigfoodie. We love this Chinese and enjoy the food. The duck is fantastic. They are coping so well in this lockdown. Tonight we missed 1 item and did a supplemental order. They were clever enough to look them both

The worst take out I have ever had as everything was burnt and lacking in any flavour. I don’t know how this company continues to trade! They used to be great but their food just needs throwing in the bin where it belongs 😡

Ordered from here on 7th November. Not one single member of staff was wearing a face mask, the delivery driver waiting to collect orders was stood inside with no mask, no sanitizer available to clean hands, people just hanging round coughing. I felt really uncomfortable collecting my food.People were coming and going without cleaning their hands.Considering we are in lockdown and it’s only takeaways open I am appalled by the total lack of respect by all the staff. This place should be closed down for breach of health and safety. It’s places like this that are causing covid 19 to spread like wild fire. AVOID at all costs if we ever want to get through this.

Love their food, and the staff is so nice and friendly, defo worth a try, I ll go back again. We choose bbq ribs, beef in black pepper sauce with egg fried rice and kungpao chicken with egg froed rice, all delicious and freshly made.

I’ve been visiting relatives in Chester for the last month, and get a Chinese from Ken’s Kitchen. Absolutely delicious 😋 , reasonable, fast service and gorgeous food.

I ordered a munchie box and a beef chowmein which arrived in decent timing but the chowmein was almost tasteless. The munchie box was good though.

Ken siempre fue un destino habitual durante los últimos 10 años más o menos, pero recientemente la calidad de la comida ha variado de buena a muy mala, siendo ayer la última. If you like what you did not order swimming in fat and grease and not looking for quality meat this is the place for you. Make sure you confirm your order and check before you take home as it will generally be wrong. Good luck

Tengo un plato descrito como "Arroz frito al estilo de Singapur: pollo, ternera, cerdo asado, pimientos y guisantes"Vinimos y yo era alérgico (soy alérgico a los cacahuetes y las gambas), los llamé por teléfono y me dijeron "oh, sí que tiene salsa satay" y me dijeron "debería haber preguntado". Siempre ordeno chino y nunca tengo un problema con lo que dice el menú, si tiene cacahuetes, generalmente se indica en la descripción del plato ya que este es un ingrediente principal. Mal servicio de atención al cliente, ya que todo lo que me dijo fue que no fue su culpa y no me enviaron otro plato de forma gratuita. Me senté aquí con los labios hinchados y el estómago adolorido, dos antihistamínicos hacia abajo y me muero de hambre. NUNCA vuelva a ordenar desde aquí simplemente por la falta de empatía después de lo sucedido. DIGA si el plato tiene cacahuetes, es una alergia común y puede ser una amenaza para la vida.

Had a takeaway here tonight. I had chilli and garlic pork, the food was tasteless and there is far better quality food in the area. Would not recomend to anyone. Very dissapointed

Estábamos pasando por Chester en nuestro barco canal y me apetecía llevar china. No saber en absoluto Chester miramos en tripadvisor para comprobar las críticas de comida para llevar, Cocina ken tenía buenas críticas y no nos decepcionó. Fue excelente! Recién hecho, precios razonables y un personal amable. Era tan buena que nos volvimos una segunda noche cuando pasamos de vuelta por Chester de nuevo! Sin duda volvería de nuevo la próxima vez que estemos en Chester.

Este no es un restaurante que compras en línea con The Big foodie group lo hemos usado 6 veces desde el otoño pasado, el proceso de reserva es muy fácil

Ordered Shredded Duck Soup, Chicken & Sweetcorn Soup, Beef & Black Bean Sauce, Kung Po Chicken & Fried Rice it was all delicious will be ordering from here again.

Make sure you order spicy chips!We would travel many extra miles to frequent here rather than our local in helsby. Very quick too, and good value.

Brook Street has a fantastic reputation for top notch take aways as well as eat in establishments. First time at Kens place but it wasn't nice at all - the chow mein didn't taste right and there were only two prawns in the dish - not good for £7.10!!

We ordered online and had the meal delivered very promptly. The meal included Chicken satay, Beef in a delicious Szechuan sauce and Singapore noodles - all great. We will definitely be ordering again.

The worst green thai curry, smelt awful i could barely eat the rest of the meal and looked and tasted like a bland ready meal. Ingredients weren't fresh and sauce was really watery! Salt and pepper chips were the only good thing! Ive had kens kitchen in the past and it was really good.. Whats happened?

I struggled to find a decent Chinese takeaway in Chester when I moved here 4 years ago. Kens Kitchen put an end to that. I do wish they'd go on Just Eat or allow card payments again as having to go to the cash point is sometimes annoying after a long day when you're already bathed and in your pyjamas. Their chips are fine, curry is spicy and thick, the rice is tasty and packed with meat and the crispy lamb in soy is to die for!They are so pleasant on the phone and when they deliver and are always quicker than they estimate.When we try another Chinese restaurant away from home we always moan it's not as good as Ken's.

Been getting takeaway here for years...another visit tonight and not let down at all.Always find the food to be freshly cooked and tasty and a great selection to choose from. Won't be going anywhere else and thankfully haven't had any of the experiences that a few people seem toHave had lately

Called in for a couple of takeaways this evening. The food was very good... except for the chips. When will you realise that you cannot keep heating and reheating chips ad infinitum and they'll taste anything but disgusting.Try cooking chips to order and I might return.

We were regulars at Kens and had orders delivered most Friday nights, we were always happy with the delivery time and the quality of the food was brilliant, until approx last November the lady on the phone advised they were under new management, that night we waited an hour and a half and the food was very poor!!! We didn't use again until deciding to give them another try tonight!! After waiting an hour our food was delivered, quality was still relatively poor and stone cold!! A real disappointment that this once great takeway seems to be finished!!!! We will not be giving them another chance to spoil our Friday evening meal!!!!

We have been customers at Ken's for a number of years. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with tonight's order. Included in the order placed over the phone was duck in black bean sauce, but when I arrived to collect I was told that they didn't do it anymore and had to choose an alternative. The food was bland and tasteless and we were used to a much higher standard from Ken's from past experiences. We will be going elsewhere in future.

Ken's Kitchen is ONE of the best chinese takeaways in Chester! I have been using it for many years - I have tried lots of other takeaways in the Chester area and they have either been almost as nice as Ken's Kitchen or nowhere near as good. The Singapore Vermacelli is my favourite and the best I have tasted around! Good value for money, quick delivery and the lady who serves people always has me laughing!

Having been a Kens Kitchen customer for a number of years I have noticed the quality reducing over time, recently they started to ask for cash only, saying their card machine was broken but if you said that you didn't have cash to pay then suddenly it was working again. We stopped using Ken’s a few months ago and started using the Summer Palace which is worlds apart in terms of quality, their dishes are slightly more expensive but totally worth paying a few extra £ for. Yesterday we were unable to get through to the Summer Palace so we gave Kens another go only to find that it’s worse than ever. They no longer take card which is an inconvenience to customers and the food was greasy tasteless, the meat in the dishes was tough, the rice dripping in oil. I couldn't eat it and what I did have made me feel queasy. I’m deleting Kens Kitchen from my phone and won’t be using them again.

After seaching high & low for a decent tasty chinese takeaway, my boyfriend remembered this place. Every chinese takeaway that we have had over the past year from other chinese takeaways has been awful, chicken that looks somehow processed & tastes rubbery & grisly & sauces that have tasted of pure vinegar but I was amazed when our kens kitchen takeaway turned up last night. I ordered the chicken chow main & couldnt fault it. The chicken was how it should be really thick pure chicken breast pieces & lots of them in a rich tasty sauce with noodles. My boyfriend ordered crispy chilli beef which im not usually a fan of as everytime ive tried it theres hardly any beef inside the batter so it just doesnt taste right but I was really impressed with it from this place & might order it next time. We also had salt & pepper chicken wings which were also nice & alot of meat on them. Although the prices are abit dearer than a few other chinese takeaways its well worth it. This is now my favourite chinese takeaway & I wont be going elsewhere. So if anyone is looking for a decent tasty chinese give this place a try

Ken's Kitchen is a brilliant Chinese takeaway. The delivery is always on time and the food is always fresh. Ken's Kitchen itself looks extremely clean and the staff are friendly.

Tried this place for the first time. Charged £7.50 for chicken with 'yellow bean sauce'. Not the real thing - just sickly and sugary. Couldn't even finish the meal. Charged £1.50 extra just for adding cashew nuts!Lots of it, but no quality.Much better to be found at a more reasonable price.

For a takeaway Chinese Restaurant, Ken's is very good quality. I have only eaten from here a couple of times, but have yet to be disappointed. Their starters tend to be very tasty and fresh (wantons, spring rolls, sesame prawn toast, etc.) and have obviously been cooked when ordered rather than sitting pre-made under a heat lamp. The rice always seems fresh and the right consistency, and chicken is main dishes is moist, tasty, and good quality pieces. If you are looking for a fast, affordable, tasty takeaway - Ken's is your place.

We have had food delivered several times now, and always top notch. The menu is not the biggest, but that's ok as all the food we have had has been excellent. Fast delivery as well.
