Rubbery non crispy battered sausage, the curry sauce was the most watery curry sauce I've come across, homemade fishcake was bland, barely any fish inside and bizzaly coated in batter and not breadcrumbs (yes, no breadcrumbs but batter), the pastry on the home pie was atrocious and the chips were dryerest I've ever come across. Worst weekly takeaway treat I've had, loads of food wasted and a complete waste of money. Never will I return and I certainly do not recommend it.

The steak and baby mushroom pie was very good. The butternut squash and goat cheese pie was exceptional. I'll def be back.

I was served very dry plaice and chips. It was obviously not fresh and had been reheated so often it was verging on inedible. If I pay top dollar for expensive food I expect the fish and chips to be freshly made and not reheated garbage. This is the 2nd time recently I 've experienced this poor quality so shall not be returning for the takeaway.

Food is good but portion sizes have reduced by approx. 20-30% and prices have gone up circa 20-25% in the last 12-18 months. I've also noticed a cheeky practice whereby the Chef/Server bring food to dine in customers and some customers give a look of disdain at the portion size. The proprietor then asks them "do you want some more chips?". Give the customer what they're paying for in the first place!! Such a shady underhand practice. Will give other chippies in Balham a go.

We come here fairly often as the food is amazingly fresh and the staff exceptionally welcoming and kind. The food is affordable with reasonable prices accross a range of menu items, the portions are generous too. The staff and chef make sure that everyone feels safe and comfortable, they really foster a family atmosphere here which we love. We recommend kennedys tooting to everyone and we take a journey from Clapham to enjoy this lovely little chippie.

Love this place! They genuinely do the best fish and chips in town with generous portions. The scampi is to die for so this is a must if you’ve not tried it yet! What makes this place stand out from the rest is the service. Baba… the man that works there is so personable with his customers which sets him apart from the rest of the local takeaways. Good quality food but I've noticed the portion sizes over the last few months are getting smaller and smaller with each visit. I guess the business is having to adjust to increased operational running costs and this equates to smaller portions.

I have travelled from Brixton for their fish and chips. Usually very good and fresh however today was terrible. Fish was certainly not fresh, tasted off and mushy texture. Very sad it was not the usual quality.

Got a too good to go meal. Chips were great. The chicken was so dry, like jerky type of dry, it had obviouslybeen under the heat for hours and hours. Wouldn't recommend. They should have covered the chicken with foil to stop it drying out so much it was un-chewable

Food was missing and what turned up was freezing cold - when I phoned I was just told to ask just eat for a refund - didn’t seem to care they had ruined my evening. Never ordering from here again.

I travel literally 50 mins to get to Kennedys as the food is so good I always get the grilled king prawns and grilled seabass with chips and salad .. it’s a must try!

Stumbled upon this jewel by sheer luck. The selection of fish, pies and other things is good, the food great (you have to try the sauce Tartar, which is so delicious!) and portions are luxurious. Staff was super nice. We found our new favourite place!

Tried them with 2good2go It was cheap, only 3 quid and was given big portions on chunky chips with curry sauce, which I quite liked, and sad sausage which was sitting there for some time. I know that's the idea behind the app but was disappointed, compare to some places where I can get a decent meal, not just chips. Other thing is service: The Older Grumpy guy has sense of humour which didn't sit with me: mixture of old grandad jokes and creepy comments. It's his humour, that's subjective, just not my cuppa but I get it, mine humour is very dry and many people don't get it either. At the same time when you work in hospitality some jokes just don't work. Oh, they gave me a carry bag like they were doing something beyond them, even when apps says bag would be provided, that's why I didn't carry mine. And they could have been given paper one like for any other customer. I guess 2good2go is not good enough. Oh well, overall chips were good, but don't think I will be coming back for service they provide.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Kennedy's Fish and Chips in Tooting for what will definitely be my last time. Honestly, it was such a letdown that I felt like I wasted my hard-earned money. When I arrived, I paid £13 for a sad-looking plate of large cod and chips. Instead of receiving a fresh meal, I was served a lukewarm piece of cod that had clearly been sitting in the display heat window above the fryer for far too long. Basically, the front of house, Mr Grumpy said it was a cancelled Deliveroo order. That's a red flag. I should have questioned that why did someone cancel their deliveroo order from here? I politely asked the front-of-house guy if I could get a fresh piece, but he dismissively replied, “No, this is good enough.” Meanwhile, I watched as he happily served fresh cod to his regulars, showing blatant favoritism. It was even worse when he forgot to give them their peas and rushed back to fix that—clearly, he was more concerned about appeasing the regulars than providing decent service to new customers. The customer service from the two old, grumpy guys really added to the letdown of the place. There used to be a friendly lady who genuinely cared about every customer, but she is sadly gone now. The current staff, including the chefs and front-of-house, seem like two retired men who have been forced to be here. Their “take it or leave it” attitude is disheartening, especially when you notice they cater to Deliveroo online orders and treat their regulars much better than new customers. As I sat there, I couldn’t help but overhear the regulars grumbling about the poor quality of the fish and chips. They were vocal about how drastically the quality had declined, with one even sarcastically suggesting they’d be better off getting their fish from Iceland! To make matters worse, they charge for everything except sitting and eating in with salt, pepper, and onion oil. Sauces are not given freely but charged for, while packing is free. Given how they advertise the freshness of their fish, the reality doesn't match up. In fact, it’s clear they are living off their old brand name, as these are the most expensive fish and chips in Tooting but definitely not the best. The menu is way too big, then again if you can't make a decent tasting Fish and chips you can proudly tell your mates, then ofcourse its smart to sell 20 other items. Bring your own sauces to this place, and a jacket, its quite cold with the door or front bit left open. Yes you are sitting inside a fish and chip shop wearing a jacket. When my meal finally arrived, it was nothing short of disappointing. The chips were undercooked and soggy, and the cod was greasy and flavourless. The portion sizes were small compared to what I remembered, and it felt like I was getting less and less for the money I was spending. The atmosphere was uninviting, and the service was rushed and dismissive, leaving me feeling unwelcome. I walked away from Kennedy's feeling frustrated and genuinely let down. It’s disheartening to see a place that once had a good reputation fall so far below standard. I left without finishing my meal, and I can't stress enough: save your money and head somewhere else. There are far better options for fish and chips in Tooting that won’t leave you feeling ripped off. Overall, this experience was a complete disappointment, and I’ll definitely never return. Secret future tip; when the Deliveroo/Takeaway Riders speaking Hindi are telling you, I would avoid eating at this place. They were literally telling me, "I would not eat here not even the cheapest item on the menu, the chips are really bad, takeaway customers complain all the time, they don't care, they got regulars." Sadly, I did not listen, thinking it can't be that bad, they advertise fresh fish, and I was hungry and needed a quick dinner and it was near the Tooting Underground station. When the advertisement and signs look better than the fish and chips on the plate, that says something. I won’t be returning again. Listen to your Deliveroo / Takeaway Riders.

Fresh fish every time. The 10 minute wait is well worth it for great tasting food and I'll happily wait for quality meal rather done something sitting in a food warmer for ages.

First impressions… Impeccable service! Friendly and compassionate staff who gladly change the set menu for a dying mans meal request. They acted fast and efficiently. The salmon dish was absolutely delicious! Made to perfection and my father who is on a soft diet and barely eating at St Gorges hospital (around the corner) devoured the plate. I am blown away at the service and thank the staff for their support. Just to add we ordered a simple box of chips which was absolutely delicious. Best chips I’ve ever eaten. We are so delighted with the meal 🤩 I will be promoting this store, every chance I get! and will definitely dine here more often.

I grew up eating fish and chips in London from paper and now my Canadian children are experiencing this very British tradition in a modern way from a box. We have been in London 3 days and my children have had Fish and chips and sausages and Savaloys and chicken 4 times from Kennedys!! Needless to say it will be a problem when they have to go back to Canada.. I’m pretty sure they’ll request some to bring back home! Everyone who works here is so genuinely amazing! and that’s why the food tastes as exceptional as it does!!

My husband and I have been here so many times since moving to Tooting and wow! It is such a reliable fish and chips spot. Laila always give 110% level of service, so friendly, helpful and attentive. Would highly recommend this place!

If you're in Tooting and craving fish and chips, this is THE place to go. The owner took our order. Who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Despite ordering three portions of fish and chips, the wait time was surprisingly short. The portions were generous. The fish was enormous and perfectly cooked. The batter was light and wonderfully crispy. It was clear that a lot of care had gone into preparing it. The chips were served in a decent portion as well. They were soft and flavorful, though slightly on the soggy side. A bit more crispiness would have made them perfect. I will definitely be returning, and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area looking for a satisfying and traditional fish and chips experience.

One of the best chippies I've been to. Haddock and chips were absolutely delish and the tartar sauce is sooo good. Also what really surprised me was the roast chicken, such a nice flavour to it. The service is really friendly too, well done chef and Co!!!

Honestly one most delicious tasting cod burger!! And their homemade tartar sauce (chefs kiss) is unlike any other tartar sauce! Highly recommend if you have not tried Kennedy’s Tooting! Delicious Fish & Chips! The French fries taste very good, and the onions in the salad are particularly sweet ❤️The Cod Roe skin is extremely crispy, and the fish roe itself is salty and soft, making you unable to stop eating it. The boss is also very friendly!

The food was also very good; I bought fish and chips, and it tasted fresh and delicious. Everything was excellent. As a suggestion, it would be great to have more beverage varieties. Fish cake and chips arrived uncooked. Will not be going again. Disappointed after seeing positive reviews online. Props to the cashier, she seemed to be under too much pressure handling the orders herself while her colleague turned up in the restaurant unaware of the busy situation she was in.
