Awful afternoon tea with stale cakes and scones. No refill on tea unless you pay more money! Events manager is very patronising and uninterested in resolving issues. Pay your money to a company who appreciates your business and wont rip you off

All listing suggested the place was open, made a specific journey for lunch Items not open 🙄🤣🙈..............

Been missing our fantastic kemps and staff can't wait for 17th May when we are back what a great place food great staff lovely can't fault. Used to be our hidden gem now so popular we have to book that says it all oh and Sunday lunch is superb cheers

Me and my family went and had afternoon tea. It was great the food was great and the staff were friendly. Took a nice little walk around the park after so it was an all roubd great day. Thank you Kemps.

A large family gathering here for lunch and the staff coped brilliantly. Hearty portions of snack favourites were well cooked and presented and everyone enjoyed themselves, not least the kids who loved the impromptu face painting and balloon modelling held indoors owing to the bad weather. Highly recommended.

Visited here this afternoon, first time I’ve ever been my partner has been before and said it was gorgeous. He was so right, lovely relaxed atmosphere, great choice of food/drink to pick from and fab customer service. Food was amazing and will definitely be returning!! Would recommend the hand cut chips - mouth watering! 🥰🥰

Popped in on the fly to have a quick lunch with my daughter and grandchildren. Very nice selection of sandwiches, wraps, burgers and meals etc. The specials were good that day, however I chose the Rarebit with Bacon topping. Excellent and delicious. My Daughter chose the BLT and we were both defeated by the size of the portions we received. The chips on the side weren’t necessary but very nice. Although my oldest granddaughters meal was initially overlooked by the chef the staff were lovely about it and she did eat all the freshly made chicken strips up when it came. The bonus was they did not charge us for it. Staff are lovely and very friendly. Although it was busy it wasn’t too noisy to have a conversation. Would definitely recommend a visit if your in Stanley Park.

Today I went to Kemps Bistro with my family for afternoon tea. Having been here before I was looking forward to it as usually the food & service is good. I pre ordered 2 vegetarian afternoon tea's via email & received an email back to say this was fine & all booked. Sadly however, when we got there, they hadn't been prepared & two meat tea's came out. We mentioned this to a nice staff member & she came out with some extra sandwiches but they were fish. Vegetarians do not eat fish! My mum mentioned this when paying & was told that "some vegetarians eat fish" which is true of pescatarians but not for something specifically advertised as vegetarian. She did give us some money back but it was a real shame.

Been here a few times and never been disappointed. Kids love the pancakes and the veggie breakfast is s great alternative. The normal breakfast is also great. If you come a bit later the fish ginger sandwich is very good but the salt& pepper chicken wrap is great, especially with the chunky chips. On this trip I needed a takeaway breakfast so this was catered for too. Staff always friendly and the food always served quickly.

We decided for a few families who are in Liverpool for New Year to meet here this morning for coffee/brunch. We thought that it was an ideal venue being near the children’s play park. In advance of coming we checked the web site for opening hours. It clearly states that the venue is open today and closed tomorrow and then reopens again the next day. However, on arrival the lady saw us approach the door, she unlocked it and told us that it was closed. She asked if we had not seen the sign on the door. I explained that we had checked the website and she said it was down!! Also that they were closed for 10 days over Christmas. We were very disappointed and then had to try an find an alternative venue. Thank goodness for Costa in Great Homer Street. If venues are using the internet to advertise it would be a good idea to keep their details updated!

This was our second visit the first was after a funeral at which we had afternoon tea that was lovely so we dicided to revisit today, the waitress who served us was very pleasant and helpful the food was brilliant hot and very tasty .the coffee was the best we've tasted in a long time will definitely be coming back again in the future and we live an hour away see you soon

Never been before and visited prior going to an event at anfield, i had only gone off reviews. It is a little hidden gem! Veggie breakfast was delicious and great value, pancakes were yum! Very reasonably priced, good service, nothing seems too much trouble, nice setting, just a great all round experience and we will definitely be back when in the area, i want to try the veggie sunday roast next!!!

Queríamos llevar a mi Tía para el almuerzo para celebrar su 92 cumpleaños nd. Ya que no son locales a donde ella vive en Anfield me registré en tripadvisor para encontrar ideas y buenas críticas de Kemps. Les llamé para preguntar si el aparcamiento estaba cerca de la entrada ya que tenía dificultades para caminar. Me dijeron que el aparcamiento estaba al lado del edificio y que fue correcta. Sin embargo, no se puede obtener acceso al edificio de la puerta más cercana al aparcamiento y tendría que caminar bastante a la vuelta de la esquina y bajar unos escalones para entrar. Llamé para explicar nuestro predicamento y un miembro del personal se acercó a abrir la puerta y nos permiten usar el ascensor a la planta baja y en la cafetería. Todo el personal nos pareció muy amable y servicial. Aunque la comida es barata nos quedamos un poco decepcionados con la calidad y el sabor. El edificio es muy imponente con su vasta estructura de vidrio y nos dijeron que era muy popular para bodas y eventos.

A great Scouse cafe in Stanley Park under the massive glass house. £3.75 for a delicious sandwich, great menu. This place is well sound.

We went here as a family after a funeral in Anfield Cemetary. We had a lovely afternoon, the staff were great and the food was good and reasonably priced. The setting of Stanley Park was perfect and led some of us to a lovely walk afterwards.

Went for lunch with my daughter and my friend, the falafel in pitta bread were lovely and the chips are well worth getting. Overall nice staff nice place nice food

I'm here regularly for work and they have recently revitalised their lunchtime menu; Lovely fresh ingredients and plenty to choose from at a reasonable price. Worth a visit, then go and walk in the lovely grade two listed park

This is a lovely cafe that never fails to serve great food. The breakfast menu is great value and there is a large selection of dishes to choose from. The staff are very helpful and attentive. I will definitely be going back as I go quite often.

Ht Fresh Excellent Value for money and tea and coffee included far exceeds the value. Lovely surroundings, Walked the dog first in the grounds as can sit outside Water provided for him fresh. Nice touch Friendly service - too cheap for the experience!!

Went for lunch with friends on 17/12. The building is absolutely beautiful a real credit to proprietor. Walked into kemps and Menus literally thrown at us by very arrogant and rude waitress and told to take a seat. Took our food and drink order. Our food and drinks arrived. Food was really nice. Just really let down by waitress.

When we first arrived I was in two minds as to whether we should leave. I'm glad we didn't the food was very tasty and hot. Coffee is fresh and very cheap! The high chairs really need a good clean and the tables are a little sticky but the plates, cutlery etc all looked clean and the staff are friendly. Would return again if I was in the area.

We stopped here for a coffee and sandwich after a walk in Stanley park. Very surprised at how nice it was. Nice coffee, lovely sandwich and some of the best chips ever. Can recommend the hand cut chips. The prices are very reasonable too. Will definitely be going back.

Super little place for a nicely presented quick lunch with my pooches. Dogs loved the chips and we had well presented quick business stop lunch.

I come to kemps quite often for lunch when I'm working and it never disappoints. Staff are friendly and helpful. The food is lovely and reasonably priced. I had the nicest piece of carrot cake I've ever eaten in here! It can get busy during holidays but that's to be expected and things can take a bit longer to arrive but not a huge issue.

19 of us on a hen party turned up on Saturday morning for breakfast...the girls were fab and so so friendly... and the food was great with relatively quick service considering how many people were in the bistro. Fantastic!

Called into this cafe for a cold drink, staff are very pleasant this also goes for the surroundings which are very clean and tidy.

Stanley Park is well worth visiting nestling between the two great football stadiums and the gem in the park is the Glass House Bistro.A lovely cafe in the park where you can grab a coffee for £1.40 and the scones are gi-normous. There is also a full menu and the staff are very nice, welcoming and friendly. So have a good snack then a good stroll .......

I visited here on Easter Sunday for breakfast with a few members of my family. The food was enjoyable and service was great.

I popped in here on a sunny afternoon with my little one, the last couple of times I had been with my missus I hadn't been too impressed, I'd had coffee spelled on me on one occasion and double charged on the second so was understandably hesitant. It is a decent establishment but it's in Stanley park so the location is prime for visitors to the park and area.Inside it is fairly well laid out although looks a bit scruffy outside as the locals move the tables out of the shadows and on to the courtyard outside of the larger venue which in itself generates rubbish and trays on the floor.The menu is fairly good but the chunky chips are "skin on" which is gourmet speak for "haven't got time to peel spuds". The staff there permanently look a bit harassed and so it proved on this occasion when ordering a chip butty (£2.75) and two drinks I returned to the table as nobody had come to take my order in The first place. I was approached with a cake and a cappa first, nope wrong table, ten minutes later my chip butty arrived but no drinks and for the next 15-20 mins no drinks at all. I eventually raised it with the till on my way out and got a rushed apology and a couple of quid in my hand.Generally if you aren't in a rush or fussed about getting a please, thank you or served at busier times then This place is ok. To be fair I used to go first thing in the morning a few years back and had no issues but it seems to struggle later in the day when it gets busier. There's nowt else local so you'll have to be patient with it.

We choose to meet in Kemp's as it is so well situated and has a relaxing atmosphere. We ordered off the lunch menu which is reasonable. I also noticed a great breakfast deal. The food was as lovely as always. As I say I have visited numerous times and this place is great if you call in with children as it has a lovely playroom which is visible from the restaurant allowing you to relax while your little ones have fun.

Arriving at Kemps on a very cold, windy, rainy night brrr, the warm welcome my son and friend received soon had our coats, hats & gloves off, the staff offered to hang our very damp coats near a radiator, brill.... never had that offer at many a five star hotel I have stayed at.....the selection of hot & hearty filling food just brought a smile to our faces.....the food arrived and did exactly what it said on the menu, the portions are very large, service is great, food is great, staff are great, cant wait to go again....

Doorstop sandwiches with side salad very nice. Other meals as well. Steak ciabatta looks good too. The restaurant is below the glass palm house used for weddings fully restored.

Took me mum for lunch , she ordered Welsh Rarebit with sunblessed tomatoes and loved it , i had home made scouse , was amazing ! Huge chunks of meat . potatoes carrots , perfectly seasoned , beetroot as well , so tasty , staff were attentive if a little rushed , value for money tho

Do not go to Kemps if you have a disability or cannot walk far as if there is a wedding on they wont let you use the lift and make you walk outside, even if they have let you go down in it. The staff are most unhelpful over this issue. Our office have boycotted out of principal, a shame as the food is nice.

I came here just before 10 on Saturday morning with my mum and younger sister.I went for the full English and it was delicious. The sausages were lovely and tasty! The bacon was a bit fatty but it was easy to cut off. The eggs were perfectly cooked with perfect dippy yolks.My mum had the vegetarian breakfast and my sister had pancakes with bacon. They both left clean plates.The service was quick and professional, lovely staff.We will definitely back!!

Had a birthday brunch. Stunning location, beneath Isla Gladstone in Stanley Park. Food delicious and chef altered fiend's sausage to vegetarian. However, be careful with bill as we were charged for our brunch as well as another table's lunch.

Had lunch here today as part of a group of thirteen. The staff are lovely and friendly could not do enough for us. Lovely surroundings and the food was great and excellent value. I will definitely be re visiting soon

The area around the two big football grounds at Goodison and Anfield is not the most picturesque most would agree but Stanley Park is a fantastic oasis of green and flowers. Kemps is located within the huge glasshouse/ conservatory built in the early twentieth century and recently refurbished and reopened. Nice straightforward simple menu, we received pleasant service and it's just a great little spot to pretend you are not in the middle of a city.

Often go for breakfast - everything included in traditional English breakfast, excellent quality and very very tasty. Bit over priced, need to ask for more mushrooms and possibly more toast (will pay more again) and make sure you don't get your tea until breakfast arrives. Would be absolutely perfect with these few changes. But really tastiest breakfast outside of my own home.

I live in Anfield and this is a lovely little gem in Stanley Park! I come here quite often with friends...either for a cuppa or lunch and have once had afternoon tea and I must say it so nice to have this literally on my doorstep (well u know what I mean)Lovely and clean and nice food...I just wish they offered some gluten free options, as I do struggle to find some things to eat and also offered Soya milk for drinks....but part from that lovely place

Lovely place to sit and enjoy a coffee and lunch, I can highly recommend the Haloumi and red pepper ciabatta it was great. Can't believe just how quiet the place was on a bank holiday weekend, clearly need to promote themselves.

Visited several times now. 1st was a disaster.2nd was discounted by the manager for previous poor service. Today the service was amazing. Drinks served within minutes and and the "Chip Butty" was amazing. Proper home made chips on thick brown bread! The servers should offer a menu. Only downside but not huge.

Came Friday 26/03/15 my Friend brought me for my Birthday, wish she hadn't.I have been before and it was bad, but thought as she had arranged it may of changed.We went for afternoon tea DISMAL not a scone to be seen! Just dried up brownies. Sandwiches were ok, as was the waitress. This is a lovely place to go and catch up, just not for afternoon tea, this is such a shame as it would be a lovely setting.They need to research what others are offering. It's a shame. Would love to come and be proved wrong, will never recommend Kemps for this reason. We were asked if everything was ok when we paid, I would have said what I thought if this was not a gift. I would have been embarrassed for my Friend.

Fab find and we have continued to return . Breakfast is always lovely piping hot and delicious lots of choice . The kids always love the pancakes . Also been for lunch several times and always been good . The only one thing that is the service can be slow , but the staff are always pleasant and helpful . Would recommend

Kemps is a lovely place and is a fantastic place for a leisurely breakfast. The scrambled eggs on doorstep toast is yummy. The setting is lovely too, nice stroll in the park, followed by brekkie. Ideal.

Attended on Sunday for mothers day afternoon tea with my mum nan and aunties.We were looking forward to leaving the kids at home with husbands and enjoy a lovely afternoon.What we experienced was total chaos, no glass of prosecco until I asked then we were given a x 2 heavy plates of mediocre sandwiches not much variety and you got 1 full sandwich each.My nan asked when the tea and coffee would be served, she was told soon! Then the cakes came out again on these oversized heavy plates.I think at first we was so shocked at the presentation and the fact it was Mr kiplings battenberg cakes and cherry bakewells cut up into x 4 pieces along with some dried brownies and cookies.I was so upset this was not worth £15 each, and we all utterly disappointed that there was still no tea or coffee,no tier cake stand with fresh cream cakes and the sandwiches poor.I decided to speak with the manager to ask why they were serving an afternoon tea like this.She said what is your table name and someone will be in touch.I'm still waiting!!!hope this helpsSmith family liverpool

Came across this fantastic little Bistro which impressed us no-end. Service great, atmosphere superb and food DIVINE. What a gem!

Been past loads of times with my mum and she said that looks a nice place but never went in.I am so sorry we never,as she would have loved it and as today was a year to the day she died.we where passing so went in it was great,staff where so nice food was fantastic.it was busy and you can see why,and so cheap two meals four coffee's two fruit scones cream and jam and as I don't like jam I asked for honey and they where fine and just changed it.when I asked for the bill thinking it would be so much it was only £18 so I was more than happy with that as I was happy and full,the only one thing is it is popular with mum's with young children so it was very loud but saying that it is a great place so don't let that put you off and my mum would have loved it

Been to Kemps loads of times and have never been dissapointed. The salmon and fresh pea pasta is fantastic as is the sandwich selection. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food and service is prompt and friendly. Great park for a stroll pre or post lunch. Will be visiting again soon- thank you.

Went for lunch with my sister and elderly mother (aged 97 and in wheelchair). Helpful and friendly staff. Clean a pleasant surroundings. Food was fine with good service. before ordering have a look at the specials menu and the daily special offers. Good for families with free car parking. Bit of a walk with wheelchair from car park but ok. The park is situated between Everton and Liverpool Football grounds and ideal for those visiting for tours etc but could be difficult on matchdays. Enjoy this little oasis.

With convenient free car parking, the magnificently restored Isla Gladstone Conservatory is set in one of the city’s many spectacular parks. Tucked in under the main glass structure, Kemp’s Bistro overlooks the ornate Victorian bandstand. It offers excellent food and beverages at very reasonable prices, served by friendly staff in a delightful setting. The extensive park itself includes an impressive array of sandstone pavilions, reminiscent of Imperial India, as well as a series of lakes in a woodland setting, traversed by impressive stone bridges.

We are regular visitors to Stanley Park but this is the first time that we have visited the bistro. It was busy but the staff coped very well. We only bought a couple of hot drinks but they tasted great and where reasonably priced. They have a small area for toddlers to play in, we will definitely be paying another visit.

A friendly and a warm welcome awaits you here. The foods is value for money it's tasty and the decor is classy I've been a couple of time during the summer and there is an outside seeting area were you can watch the world pass you by as you enjoy a lovely meal. Keep up the good work.Maybe you could have a sign on the outside of the car park to let people know you are here, you only know once your inside the car park (just a thought)

We recently visitied Kemps Bistro below the Isla Gladstone Glass House for lunch. Not only was the food the best we have tasted for a long time but the service was excellent. The staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. They were friendly, smiley and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely visit again and recommend the venue to anyone. If you go, try the hand cut chips, they were amazing!

This is the second time in two years we have visited Kemps for afternoon tea as a group of work colleagues. Again, service cannot be faulted, food beautifully presented and extremely tasty as was the prosecco!! Extremely good value for money and we will return. So glad I booked here for afternoon tea. Lovely food and such friendly proffessional staff. A lovely place to visit as its patt of the beautiful Isla Gladstone in Stanley Park. There is even a play room for the kids. Totally Recommended

Best homemade chips on wholemeal bread I've had in ages. Sparkling water served with ice and fresh cake :-)Paris, the general manager is on hand to answer any questions and his staff are very polite and helpful. Will be back soon!

Nick and I decided to visit Kemps Bistro as soon as we came back of holiday as we have booked the Isla Gladstone for our wedding venue and we fancied some lunch, so why not go to where we are getting married!We got seated by the waitress and she took our drinks order, which came pretty quickly. We got given the menu and specials menu and the choice was a difficult one. I opted for the chicken wrap on the specials board and Nick opted for the steak ciabatta, and we ordered some side chips (homemade) to go with. I also decided to get a side garlic bread with cheese (a fave of ours). When the food came, the portions were huge. Turns out a side of chips would have been enough between two! and they were TASTY!!! really mouth watering. Nick loved his steak cibatta (although a possible suggestion, to slice it up rather than put an actual steak in?) and couldn't finish his dish. I loved my chicken wrap (it came in a minty sauce) and i couldn't finish mine either. i managed some garlic bread with cheese which was very yummy. We got salad as well with our mains, and i ate the lot. The portion size of the food was great and we didn't need sides as we were stuffed!Before i had ordered my lunch i was deteramined to get a pudding, as i LOVE pudding. Sadly this didn't happen but i know now from experience that on the next visit, to get a small lunch, and make room for pudding! It was really busy both inside and outside, as it was a pretty nice day. There's a little area for kids which is great too. It's completly seperated to upstairs, where there was a wedding about to start, but you wouldn't even know if there were people in the cafe downstairs at all.As i had tweeted that we were in Kemps for lunch, the GM, Paris, came down to find me and Nick. We were made up with that, and that's the type of service your after in the venue.All the staff were great, very busy at all times, but looking after everyone as much as possible, making sure their customers were happy.Thanks again, and we will see you soon :)Tanya

Stumbled across the Bistro whilst taking Australian visitors to see Anfield. Food was delicious and good value, service with a smile and free wifi. My visitors declared their burgers the best the have had in the UK so far, would recommend it to all. The view of the park was beautiful too.

Excellent lunch had with the family, could not fault the quality of food, value for money and most importantly the service.

We visited on bank holiday Monday, and whilst this place has the potential to be great, our visit was really ruined by a very grumpy (and at one point outrite rude) waitress. We booked for afternoon tea on the phone, and our order was not actually taken by the waitress once there. Sandwiches were brought out without asking what we would like and one of our party is allergic to butter. This was explained to the waitress who was very unpleasant, ultimately concluding she would 'see what the chef could do' and then ungraciously brought a new sandwich from the kitchen, which we were charged separately for on top of the afternoon tea! A lovely location, but looking at other reviews much work needs to be done on the customer service front!

Went park to see renovated PalmHouse and stayed for lunch. Nice food and friendly service . Very reasonably priced - food and drink for less than £25 for two. Very attractive furniture but lots of hard surfaces so there is a lot of noise. Nice play area if you have small children

Went for lunch here today, this is about 5 times we've lunched here but unfortunately the last couple of visits have been awful. The service has been poor, its waitress service but last time we waited ages for someone to spot us so this time I went to the counter and asked for a table for two. The young girl advised us to take a seat and she would come over, after about 15 mins I went to the counter and gave our order. We waited a further 10 mins for the pot of tea and had to draw their attention that we hadn't got it, when the cutlery was brought 1 set was dirty and we had to go and ask for more. The food eventually arrived the ham was the thin stuff you get in packets from the supermarket, the salad was limp and seen better days.We went back today to give them another chance but wont be going there again.Avoid it with a barge pole.

Had made a booking for Mothers Day in plenty of time only to be contacted midway through the week cancelling our table.Very very disappointing. Couldn't get a breakfast appointment anywhere else so have not been able to celebrateAs very regular customers we were quite disgusted

I have just eaten some really great homemade meatballs and pasta. Good size portion, well cooked and great value. This bistro is a new find for me, in Liverpool's Stanley Park. Bonus free parking in a lovely setting. Free WiFi too!

Visiting Kemps is always a pleasure and the staff there have become friends becuase they are so friendly and accomodating. The food is great and we love Kemps as a pre football venue when Liverpool are playing.

We visited Kempis bistro after a family funeral. There was only a small group of us. We contacted the manager the same morning as we were told how busy it gets to see if we could reserve a table. The manager went over and above to accommodate us. ( sorry I didn't take the lady's name. Dark hair glasses) We were taken upstairs were it was more private and served by a lovely young lad who took our orders for food and drink. The food was delicious. The staff so friendly. Nothing too much trouble and never felt rushed at any point. Thank you Kemps bistro. Lovely to find a gem of a place like this with such amazing service regardless of the size of group or money spent.

Stopped of here after a wander around the much improved Stanley Park. Last time I was in the area this beautiful building was a wreck. Now restored the conservatory is superb and the bistro , which is open daily , is welcoming with lovely staff & reasonably priced refreshments . My other half enjoyed a fresh scone with jam & cream with his tea while I just enjoyed the very welcome cuppa. Would come here again for sure

We always eat here when we vivit our beloved Anfield and are nevber disappointed. Good choice of food, clean and comfortable environs, good value and friendly staff - what more can a football supporter want?!!

Lovely friendly staff set in fantastic surroundings. We had a full English Breakfast and it was yummy! Fresh well cooked food and great service, what more could you want.

We recently discovered Kemp's after having spent a lot of time and money in awful venues around Goodison Park. Hope this place stays as undiscovered as it seems to be, but don't hold out much hope! Love the food, surroundings, value and service and we are now firm regulars.

Shouldn't really share this place but keep it a secret. Located in Stanley park it's really great for visiting footsie fans of either colour.What's great is that its clean, comfortable, warm and has brilliant friendly staff.Stopped for coffee today and had the pleasure of seeing a Liverpool legend. Staff were so helpful in providing pen and paper for our young visitor to get the treasured autograph. Can't thank them enough!Coffee was great too but beware the size of the teaches, they're huge.

Been here about 4 times and im sitting here now lovely place lovely food and very pleasant at amosphere come here as part of my job. Beautiful park to walk around also.

Went for breakfast after attending a funeral.Very friendly and attentative staff .Smart and comfortable surroundings.Service was a little slow considering it wasn't very full.Full English was just that,nothing special,no better than wetherspoons,and at £6.25 wasn't good value.Its worth a visit and if prices were more reasonable I would go more often.Its Location is ideal for a pre- match snack before eiher Eveton or Liverpool both being in walking distance.

I have been here a number of times for breakfast and always found the place very good,service is always excellent and the staff have always been friendly.

Coming from North Liverpool all we hear about is South Liverpools parks! Well that will soon change. Stunning loacation with lovely well kept gardens and lakes only a short walk away. Plenty of benches and everywhere is easy access with mostly gentles slopes. Now into Kemps itself WOW! Really friendly attentive staff served us. Fantastic casual interior with tub chairs, sofas and a variety of tables and chairs to sit at. Plenty of people about and a really nice atmosphere. Cant wait to visit again to try more of the menu out. Bacon Butty was lovely, nice crispy fat, fellow lovers of them will appreciate that part of the review! Do yourself a favour and visit

An elegant environment with wonderful food and very well priced as the portions were impressive. What impressed me most was the service - a very well run establishment with efficient and friendly waiting staff - especially Michelle she was completely on the ball - a real credit to the café. I will most certainly be visiting again *FIVE STAR* for sure
