Best Fish and chips I've ever had!!

Probably the best fish and chips I've ever had. Shop was very busy and we were told it would be a 20 minute wait, but the food was out in less than 10 👍 Staff were very friendly, professional and helpful Fish stayed prefect and crispy, chips are delicious cooked in beef dripping, and proper mushy peas on the side - 10/10 all day long!

Prices have gone up twice in the last few months. Chips aren't as nice as they used to be.

I felt that I was not just a number in a queue. The young lady who served me smiled whilst I ordered and it was a family order she helped with sizes ect in fact nothing was too much trouble. Everything reasonably priced and the packaging first class. Thankyou.

Really really disappointing that they no longer offer any alternative to frying in beef dripping. Means we can no longer go. They used to offer vegetable oil alternative, not any more. You cannot eat anything here if you are vegetarian, such a pity as previously we loved it, now they've removed any options 😢

Excellent throughout! 100% recommend. Children enjoyed it as well.

Went for the first time yesterday and in all the 18 years I've lived in cornwall never have I had such a beautifully cooked fish and chips, was outstanding along with the mushy peas and curry sause. Great service which and profession.

Great fish and chips, super friendly staff. A really local place where they know many of their customers by name. It was our 17 month old's first fish and chips, and we thought we'd start with the best. It was the right decision, lol. We'll be back soon! Thanks Kellaways!!

Something different but nice food

Was recommended Kellaway's by a friend but was left very disappointed from start to finish. After I ordered my food it took a very long time despite there only being one other customer and no deliveries to do. The staff kept eyeing up and glaring at the customers. Only one or two seemed to be working the rest were in the back chatting while people were waiting for food. Then another customer came about 10 after myself that seemed to be friends with the staff and got her order in about 5 mins. I only ordered a standard fish and chips and it took about 25 mins with only one customer to serve (they took ages on his too) To top it all off once I got home and ate my meal it wasn't particularly nice (covered with grease) and was then sick that night. It was the only food I ate so it was definitely because of Kellaway's. Bad attitude, lazy servers, and bad food. Would highly recommend you go elsewhere Edit* and they forgot to put salt and vinegar on despite it being on the order ticket

Easily the best fish and chips in Truro, if not Cornwall. It's all absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes are very generous. There's a good variety in the menu. The only problems are that there's nowhere nearby to sit and eat; it's very much takeaway only. There can also be significant delays of up to half an hour while waiting to be served.

Excellent food never had bad experience and the staff are wonderful and pleasant would recommend anytime

been regulars for a few years now ,always nice ,proper chips nice and juicy not like the cardboard ones some places serve.come in a box so easy to eat out about ,i believe most negative reviews on here are because some people have never had chips in dripping ,and moans about waiting well if you want it cooked fresh you have to wait if you want quick food pop over to mcdonalds,.top marks from me ,proper job.

Ordered online which went without a hitch, however when we got home although the food looked ok the batter on the fish smelt and tasted burnt and left a tang in your mouth. The chips again although looked fine had a take of cardboard and obviously then because of the after taste of the fish batter made the food completely uneatable, it was nearly 8pm by the time we got home so after spending £32.15 on 3 meals most went in the bin, the only thing that got eaten was the burger. That according to my son was ok but the chips weren't nice, so the 2 fish and chips ended up in the bin. I have no intention of going back even though I live in threemilestone.

Brilliant fish and chips. Chips are perfect, cooked in beef dripping yum yum. Decent portions, never been left hungry nor dissatisfied. Thank you.

Had a small chips and a battered sausage for £4. Tasty food, cooked right. Half the price of a large promo Mcdonalds meal and at least twice the size. I asked for some more salt and vinegar and they were happy to help. Nice clean premises. Short stay car parking across the road. Wheel chair accessible.

Best Fish & Chips around by far, recomend ordering online as it gets really busy, staff always great you with a smile and are really friendly. Most Fridays its a regular stop onthe way home.

Probably one of the best places for fish and chips that I've visited, great place. Chips are always good, portion sizes are great and the fish is huge! Worth a visit.

Kellaways is a fantastic "chippy". The online ordering makes life a lot easier. The food is yummy, and consistent, the staff are friendly and helpful and everyone is catered for regardless of the size of appetite.

Ordered two adult meals and two kids meals online earlier for collection just as they opened. I was able to park straight outside, both service and food were exceptional. Highly recommended

Don't order online, ordered online for pick up, when I got there I had to wait over half hour for my food. 3 Walk ins with bigger orders got served before

Normally good food but be prepared to wait. Portions are quiet small and now quite pricey. Could have a carvery out for the price of fish and chips now

Despite the app stating that we should contact for dietary requirements, the reality we had when going with an order for 6 people was that the chips were "technically" gluten free. Our mum has Coeliac disease and gluten would be seriously detrimental to her health. Also, the "vegetarian options" are all cooked in beef dripping. This is very disappointing from an award winning fish and chip shop and we will not be eating here again.

Very disappointed, this is the 2nd (and last) recent order, one was online and the other a walk-in the chips were cold when we got home 10 mins after collection and the plaice and cod tasted as though they had been cooked and stored for ages. In the past it has always been excellent - such a shame.

1st time trying this chippy, me and hubby tried fish, chips and a sausage and well what can I say! The staff are wearing hair nets the men are wearing bandanas so no ones hair goes in people's food, food was cooked to perfection, really hot and worth the money, we shall be returning, thank you

Kellaways is definitly and very good fish and chip shop. I have found that the chips can be a little greasy althought the fish is always amazing and the batter is very well cooked My only other problem is how very expensive it is I spent about £20 one one fish and chips

Now this is how chip shops should be! Beautifully crisp batter and chips cooked to perfection. I think they still use beef dripping and it's all the better for it. Ordering online is painless too.

I have been here many times over the years and have always experienced wonderful service from a helpful, friendly professional team who provide a service for which I feel valued as a customer and the produce is of great standard,good value ,hot and very tasty. The on line pre order system is a terrific idea making the system even more efficient. Love this place. Love you team. Would highly recommend.

Still excellent fish and chips. Chips never soggy. I recommended to a colleague and they really enjoyed. Only downer, last week I had a fishcake, must be different supplier because it was awful. Stick to the fish.

Tried for first time today. They can cook in veg oil on request as well. Very impressed. High-quality fish and chips. Easy to eat, don't feel heavy afterwards. This is probably the best fish and chips I have had. Better than Rick Steins of Padstow, especially when you think of the price difference ! Keep it up!

Fantastic food, service and packaging! :). We ordered 2 x Medium Cod & Chips online for Friday 7.30pm. We turned up on the stroke of 7.30 to be given our food with service with a smile! I live 15 minutes drive away so we were concerned the food may get cold, but to be fair, when we sat down to eat, the meal was hot and perfectly cooked. They came in heat retaining cardboard boxes. The fish tasted fresh, the batter was light and the chips were just right. A little sidetone to say you MUST try the tartare sauce too - that was a great bonus. Highly recommended - thanks Kellaway’s!

Just had a takeaway which was pre ordered this afternoon via their website. Absolutely beautiful food and great friendly staff.

Had some absolutely lovely fish and chips from here a few weeks ago as well as some bits on the side, and they were absolutely fantastic! Gorgeously crispy batter and fresh fish, and the chips were absolutely perfect. Fantastic attention to detail with my allergy requirements too, will definitely be ordering from here again!

Nice friendly folks and an efficient takeaway system. Large portions and good value for money. However, the oil seems overused and the smell lingers on in the vicinity and the chips for a long time. Would love to give 4 1/2 stars given the option. A very good fish and chips shop.

Online pre order system easy to use. Good selection and prices. One thing I really like is being able to choose which type of oil is used for frying a big plus.Not only that but portions are generous. Everything tasted great. Didn't have to wait long for order..and coupled with friendly service. - 5 stars well deserved.

I have to say the fish is fresh out the sea and batter is delicious!!! 10/10 for the fish and chips, curry sauce was fantastic too. We popped in after going to Healeys Cyder farm. Parking was easy and fast service!

We hadn’t phoned our order through so when we arrived we were asked to do so, ( C19 social distancing precautions adhered to) we were told 15 minutes to wait, not a problem, only waited 10 minutes, food was pipping hot, crispy crunchy batter surrounding beautiful flakes of white cod and the large portion of chips easily enough for two people, scrummy. Definitely worth a return visit.

Post lockdown we phoned in with our order, arrived on time to pay, and collect our order - with only a short wait. Close-by parking is a bonus, and makes collecting so easy. Genuinely great service (phone and in person), fabulous fish & chips, which we all really enjoyed. Well done, we'll definately continue to recommend.

Great fish and chips but not impressed with the service, you have to have the nearest piece of fish to them i.e.unable to ask for a specific piece if one is more to your fancy. (Thought the customer is always right, never experienced that anywhere else) One member of staff was extremely rude with regard to explaining the COVID process on ordering!

I've eaten fish and chips from a lot of different fish and chip shops and I'm quite picky. It's also my favourite meal and I eat it often. This was without doubt my best fish and chips meal experience I've had for about, well I can't remember another time I've enjoyed it this much. Everything was sooo good. Well done kellaways
