Keisha's Kuisine in Birmingham

From my first experience a week ago I’ve been back 3 times. The staff are extremely polite and friendly on every visit and already know what I normally have as sides with my orders (which is a nice personal touch). I now drive 5 miles to get my food here instead of 2 miles to a closer Caribbean restaurant. #HighlyRecommended

Best Caribbean cuisine on this side of the city, from the steamed fish to the oxtail to the home made drinks, everything is spot on and food is always fresh. Highly recommended.

Twice I've been now to Keishas orderd food and asked for extra sauce,disappointed again after I git home to eat my food there was and sauce at all.I spoke to girl on counter and said extra sauce bit still no extra sauce very disappointed I won't be ordering from you again now Customer service is poor and food is not that great either,I feel prices are to high for what you order £11-50 for large curry mutton anywhere else it's £10 for large mutton disappointed again thanks

I ordered callaloo hard food and veg I was sent half green bannana tiny half slice of yam n a dumpling which I messaged to say skip dumpling because of gluten intolerance I've ordered same before and got a lot more feel like I was given leftovers I'm still hungry I'm so disappointed for 12.80 it was an insult I'm a regular customer and feel ripped off

The sides where horrible, coleslaw totally uneatable it tasted like cinnamon syrup. Why is it so sweet??? What happened to creamy? For the amount spent overall it was a let down

Chicken portions are a joke!! £15 for a large jerk chicken and you get 3 tiny pieces of 90% bone 10% chicken. I shouldnt still be hungry after spending £15 and ordering a ‘large’ meal, wont return because of this

Keisha can cook !!, went today for the first time I was told I wouldn’t be disappointed and believe me she wasn’t lying ! The food is so fresh and I’ve never had such well balanced seasonings and spices in 1 dish and the jerk chicken was something else honestly absolutely beautiful food and can say that this is my new go to for Jamaican cuisine, I was greeted with complimentary johny cakes freshly cooked while I waited as well , what can I star a week deserved 5 stars ,really impressed 👌

Ordered Oxtail for me and my daughter. Tasted nice but way too spicy. I'm a fan of spice but the kick was too much. She couldn't finish hers. Spoilt the meal unfortunately.

Keisha's Kuisine food is life! The dishes are incredibly flavorful and truly amazing. It's hands down one of the best restaurants in Birmingham. I often order their jerk chicken, rice and peas with oxtail sauce, and it’s always perfect. The Johnny Cakes are absolutely wonderful, too. The food is made with love, and the customer service always comes with a smile. I would definitely recommend it.

Sadly I’ve never had the opportunity to try the food as both times I’ve gone there they didn’t have the items I wanted and I went at 2 different times of the day. Another thing is that I only even see children or young teenagers working at the front - and I’ve been as late as 9pm - whilst I understand it is a family business I don’t feel comfortable seeing children work such times or hours consistently so wouldn’t be keen to come back again

Wonderful food, wonderful staff. Whilst my favourite dish is salmon rice and peas, I love to pop in and grab a few Johnny Cakes. Sereena x

Greets you with big smiles and an inviting atmosphere. Food is soulful and delicious. The oxtail have me licking my fingers every time. The johnny cakes are a must try, you will ask for seconds and thirds. Great place, great food.

I've been a loyal customer, usually ordering online where the food has always been spot-on, which is why I keep returning. However, my recent experience dining in left much to be desired. Despite receiving excellent service, the food was a major disappointment. I've always raved about their dishes, but this time, the overcooked mac and cheese and chicken scraps just didn't meet the high standards I've come to expect from them. It's disheartening to see such a discrepancy between their usual quality and what I was served in person.

Feel the the quality of food has dropped drastically since the opening and become very stingy with the portions, also asked for a Guinness punch and was told in a rude manor that it was not on the menu but when I ask in store they have it ?, also the ackee and salt fish was served in very orange greasy liquid which is completely different to how it would be usually served, also the bag upon the arrival of the delivery was filled with liquid, which leads me to believe it was packaged with care. Will not be ordering again.

Absolutely amazing! We are always weary of ordering jerk since our favourite place closed nothing has ever lived it up to it but we gave Keishas a go and wow it is incredible. It has just arrived beautifully hot fresh and with a hand written note. The portion size was was huge and both the jerk chicken and curried goat are just amazing. Also the gravy wow! Thank you so much!

Looked at the reviews for this place they was all 5 star so thought it must be good it was far from it jerk chicken was dry an bland the bit of curry goat I got was flavourless more bone than meat vegetables was way over done ordered two large meals an basically it was just two tubs of rice

I haven't even finished the soup yet but had to jump straight on and leave a review. Ordered chicken soup from my sick bed and after not eating for 4 days this is perfection. Delivery was quick, portion size is great too. Just what I needed, definitely be recommending and using here again. Thank you 😊

Me and my partner have ordered food from here a few times now and it never disappoints. The curry coat with rice and peas is mouth watering. The jerk chicken is really nice love the jerk sauce and the home made coleslaw is amazing nice and sweet. I also love the steamed veg. One of the best Caribbean shops in northfield I highly recommend this place.

I had the BBQ chicken at Keisha's Kuisine and it was the bomb. It was quite delicious. I also had the Jerk chicken with rice and peas and a corn. The corn was extremely juicy and had an excellent after taste. The rice tasted exquisite and rich. I would definitely recommend this Caribbean restaurant.

To be honest, I eat out a lot! Because I am in the building trade and travel all over the West Midlands a lot. And keisha kuisne is where I have some of the best jerk chicken...

I recently indulged in the Larger Jerk Chicken meal with rice, peas, and steamed vegetables, accompanied by a side of baked macaroni and cheese. This order easily earns a perfect 10/10! The food was promptly prepared and delivered within an hour, and the generous portion sizes pleasantly surprised me—enough to savor over two days! The succulent jerk chicken, tender and falling off the bone, stole the show. The steamed vegetables and rice were bursting with flavor, making this meal an absolute winner. Highly recommended for a satisfying and delicious experience! On a separate occasions a couple of days after I ordered the large curried goat meal with rice, peas, and steamed vegetables left me with mixed feelings. Following the success of my previous order, the preparation and delivery were again impeccable, arriving within 40 minutes. The rice, peas, and steamed vegetables were a delight—fluffy and bursting with flavor. However, the curried goat disappointed as its temperature fell short. While the meat itself was soft and succulent, it was just about lukewarm compared to the piping hot accompaniments. Given the short 5-minute delivery distance, a slight improvement in the goat's temperature would have made this another 10/10 experience.

Excellent flavour and spice. Hearty " small" portion of chicken soup with too many hard dumplings for me. Perfectly steamed vegetables and corn - chicken bones add flavour to Jerk but I prefer more thigh meat or breast. Probably won't go there again as it's a competitive market with better value options out there.

Listen. I had to write this half way through my food, on Deliveroo and here. I’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, finally ordered Ackee&Saltfish, rice, fries & mutton gravy. First of all I got a call to say they need to swap my veg, very apologetic and polite (I was surprised cos most places run out of allll food by 5pm🤣) My food arrived fast, hot & packaged well, the flavoursssss were just insane. Can’t get flavours like that at any other yard shop in Birmingham. Veryyyy happy will be going back again and again😅😂

My first time trying this place today 06/09/23. I was not disappointed I ordered the small curry goat- rice and steam vegetables. The food was hot , curry goat had the desired flavour and the portion was decent. The staff had good customer service. I definitely would order from here again.

Keisha is an amazing and gorgeous person. We were welcomed to the shop with a big smile. Great customer service. We ordered the goat curry and BBQ chicken with rice and sides. The marinade is on point. Meat super soft and moist. Beautiful balance with sides of choice. The portion size was super generous. Keisha's cooking is to die for, super hearty and yummy! We loved her music that she played, the place had great atmosphere. We had the privilege to meet her children by chance when they came to visit, they were super sweet. We'd come back to Keisha's cuisine with a heartbeat, it's a shame we live so far away. Thank you again Keisha! You're an inspiration :)

The food was excellent. I had the oxtail, my wife had the salmon, and my kids had the fried chicken. Every dish we tried was delicious 😋 We also had the coconut tart, Johnny cakes, Guinness Punch, lemonade and it was all great. I highly recommend Keisha's Kuisine for authentic West Indian food.

Best Curried goat Ive had in a LONG time!

The food was that good that I came back two days later after having my first taste! The mutton falls apart, veg is done to perfection and I definitely reccomend the Johnny cakes and fruit punch! Plus the red velvet is outrageous. 12/10 💃💯

Located on Northfield high Street is been meaning to visit here for some time after seeing some very positive reviews. Very clean and bright inside, the service is very friendly. I went for the brown stew chicken with two Johnny cakes. The chicken was beautifully cooked, nice flavours and delicately spiced. My first time trying Johnny cakes and they were spot on, nicely soft and fluffy and slightly sweet. I look forward to returning and trying other dishes on the menu. I would highly recommend if your in Northfield.

I have ordered twice from this place on Just Eat. First time we had the oxtail and the second time the curry goat. Each time the food was delicious, well presented and fresh. The Johnny Cakes were also delicious.

I've just read 2 poor reviews to, what has to be the best take away shop that sells Caribbean food in birmingham. Everything is 5 star at Keisha's Kuisine. Your greeted with a smile from Keisha or her wonderful children, which is not always available in some other shops, I always feel at home as soon as I walk through the door greetings gets a 10, that covers service and atmosphere, The food... Wow where do I start, every thing I've had from there has been Mitchillin star, the presentation of the food is levels above any where else, the food is presented to you for inspection every time without fail, and many times I've been tempted to eat it there and then. So for me it's no:1 in birmingham by far, the 2 negative reviews on here, must be from bad minded haters because every word I read didn't ring true to me. Well done team Keisha I know you will not drop your amazingly high standard, ✨oh and I will be in later too.

I went to Keisha's on Friday the food was amazing, we were the last customers there just sat there enjoyed the atmosphere but most importantly the food. The food was 10/10, everything was perfect. I had the ackee and saltfish with steamed veg, the taste was completely different to what I'm used to having, you will not be disappointed AT ALL!!! The price is fair and I really have to give credit to the customer service as it makes a massive difference, I promise you will not find better customer service from a Caribbean food shop, it has a nice family/home type of vibe. Keisha and her family treat you as if you're part of their family, the conversation was hilarious, informative and educational. If you really want a true Caribbean experience visit Keisha's Kuisine!!! I'll definitely return this week.

Stingy portion sizes, food was cold. I ordered a large oxtail and it was more like a medium/small. i'm really disappointed in my order it was nowhere near worth £20, i recommend not wasting your time here

Well for the past 8 years I have lived 2 min from this place eat there once years ago and the food was terrible the shop had change hands few times always been awful ! Not anymore now Keisha is here ! !!!! ! Just been and had the best brown stew chicken and curry goat in a long time , safe to say she is defo Not the previous owner , nice new sign outisde fresh clean interior and a smiley face to match! Food is fairly priced and portions are good safe to say I wil be back tmoro ! Do not be put off by the shops location the food is nothing like it was before 10/10 5 star . I review places if they are bad like we all do but it’s good to review when somthing is good also! Will be sending my family n friends here ! P.s Jonny cakes are fire 🔥

Well as a Caribbean Man your use to a certain taste and being in the uk it’s very hard to find the originality. But as for Keisha kuisine it’s taking me back home. The food at Keisha’s Kuisine is absolutely amazing and they have really good customer service! The flavors are always there and the food is well prepared and presented. The curry goat meal is one of my favorites and I love Keisha’s Johnny cakes. I definitely would recommend eating here 10/10!!

I am so happy this place opened because I finally feel like I have a piece of home in Birmingham. Keisha's food is nothing short of amazing, especially the johnny cakes! She is very engaging with her customers and sometimes let them sample new things. I can't tell if I am happy or sad that she let me sample the chicken pasta as I'm now hooked and it's all I think about! Would definitely recommend.

First visit to Keisha's Kuisine and it won't be our last. We had the Family Platter. Goat curry, BBQ chicken and jerk chicken. Plus 3 sides, rice, plantain and steamed vegetables. Fantastic food and plenty for 3 of us to share. Lovely, friendly staff and can highly recommend.

KK is a breath of fresh air. Took my love for carribean (and people) food to the next level.

Very fresh Caribbean food, done the right way. Went into the brand new store& ordered one large and one small meal for me and daughter. Both meals were delicious & me and my daughter are quite particular about our food. Owner offered a “Johnny cake” on the house & it was stunning. If you have a chance run in and grab one, tells you alll you need to know about the food here *chefs kiss*

I must admit Keishas food has been the best Caribbean food since I've been in the uk over the past 6 years !! U must try her food I recommend curry goat. Bbq and jerk and Johnny cake those are my favourite!!! You must try it!

The flavours makes you want to eat even when you are not hungry or when you have food at home. Double KK definitely deserves frequent visits.

Went to go & get some takeaway. The shop was shut. I went after 2pm. Had to look elsewhere for some.'soul food'. ☹️
